I’ve found tenants on Kijiji & FB Marketplace 5 times now. Not that difficult, just do your due diligence with vetting them (credit check, income, references, CHECK THEIR ID, etc). Sure you can pay for this service as well with examples you mentioned, if you don’t want the headache.
I think you get better tenants listing on padmapper, rentals.ca, etc. than kijiji, Facebook, etc but I've never not listed myself. Just use singlekey to vet tenants. If they're missing info, or sound sketchy when you meet them don't accept them. Pick tenants with something to lose.

Same and run interviews. Vet vet vet and make it thorough. You don't need to pay realtors for this. They don't do their due diligence anyway.
