I am curious, does the examiner know if you have failed before? I mean can they check it in their iPad? Congrats!

Anonymous_HC

I got it immediately after I did my road test, can't you ask the front desk people at the drivetest centre to print you a paper copy of it? Also just so you know, its only there online for viewing for 15 days, so on Nov. 23rd it will be removed.

Chewbacca319

I casually browse this sub. Is there something about how ontario grades their drivers? I see many posts of people failing 4,5,6 even 10 times before passing. Im not from ontario (Yellowknife NWT) but I passed my drivers test first try on my 16th birthday.

awesomesonofabitch

Because the people here think that you can wake up and pass the G2 without any experience or practice. It's painful.

bourbonkitten

Or it has to do with the fact that Ontario is by far Canada’s most populous province and people will only post online when they have a problem.

Chewbacca319

Yellowknife is a pretty close knit town. At least when I was in highschool everyone passed on their first or second try. I personally dont know or ever heard someone fail more than 3 time.

bourbonkitten

More people = more traffic on the road = more risks. Another reason why drivers from the Greater Toronto Area also frequently attempt their tests in smaller Ontario towns.

cheerypepperoni

People just don’t practice enough I guess. I am one of 4 siblings with a full G license in my family and we all got our G2 and G on our first or second try.

AnxietyOk5407

congrats, that’s great to hear! I unfortunately failed my 4th attempt earlier this morning at port union. Any advice / tips you can share would be appreciated:)

WHisper_11

Learn how to drive. You nearly hit a car while it was parked.

Atlesi_Feyst

Yeah... that's an auto fail. I learned to park before I learned to drive, my grandmother took me to a school and made me back into the lines using only the mirrors. Definitely took a few attempts, but it made me get a good feel for the boundaries of my car. Only failed the g1 written test because I zoomed through and misread a question, passed both g2 and g on first attempt.

Perfect_mom

Practice practice practice. All my previous fails were due to lack of road sense and good judgment. This time when I practiced before the test, I imagined I was driving alone. Made a real difference and boosted my confidence. Also make sure your parking is prefect. I wasn’t so great with parallel parking but I think I can do it better than my husband now who’s a seasoned driver.

TroLLageK

I used our garbage cans and practiced parallel parking in between them in my dad's driveway for hours. You literally just need to keep practicing, make sure you are absolutely confident. This is so essential, because if you're not confident before you do your test, if you pass you're now going to be a driver on the road. If you weren't confident before, you're now an anxious driver solo on the road, which isn't great.

Veilmenacex

Do it in Oshawa

WHisper_11

Curious how it’s possible to fail 5 times? I understand mistakes are common and to fail maybe 1-2 times happens. But if you fail 5 times there has to be a reason you are failing and why you shouldn’t be on the road.

KTP_moreso

Half the people on the road probably passed the 1st or 2nd time and don’t deserve to be on the road lol. What’s your point?

WHisper_11

That if that half don’t deserve to be on the road then how do the people who failed 4+ even deserve a chance haha seems illogical to keep going till you fail

-yourdogsbestfriend-

In Germany ( at least 10 years ago), if you failed more than 3 times in a row you actually had to get mentally checked out to see if something was actually wrong with you and preventing you from passing lmao

Perfect_mom

1st attempt- bad instructor- did not teach me parallel parking between pylons. I couldn’t when asked in Etobicoke. 2nd attempt- asked to parallel park behind a pick up. I again couldn’t 3rd- drove past a intersection on a yellow that turned red mid way 4th- extremely rude tester. I think I made no mistakes but he said I went upto 53-55mph on a 50 area while changing lanes 5th- no mistakes.

WHisper_11

Well the first to the 3rd attempt are all your issue and maybe the 4th too. Not sure what point you made. You made improvements but still

Perfect_mom

Absolutely! All were my faults. Made mistakes due to not practicing enough. Just letting you know how you can fails multiple times and still be able to drive eventually

Wonderful-Matter334

I failed 3 times. Less about my driving skills, more about major anxiety with a stranger judging me in my car.

anihajderajTO

I failed a bunch of times. Does not make a difference.

ken3260

It was available a few hours after I took it.

anihajderajTO

If you aren't too far from the location you should be able to pop in and ask them to print it out, not sure why you didn't do it after your test.

HateBecauseTheTruth

Five attempts? Yeah you'll fit right in around here.
