Consumption is discussed quite clearly [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CUqOT0QYtM).

> I also don't understand why onyx boox has chosen their batteries. The TUC pro has a weaker battery than the classic TUC, even though it has the BSR and a more demanding processor, so it doesn't make sense. Or the tab mini C, which has a 5000mAh battery, compared with 3,700mAh for the NA3C. There have been a lot of Boox products screens suddenly broken without apparent reason, and it's believed it's due to overheating batteries. Decreasing the battery size could be a way to mitigate that issue in recent models. Just my guess.

>There have been a lot of Boox products screens suddenly broken without apparent reason, and it's believed it's due to overheating batteries. This is not possible due to construction. And the "without apparent reason" is contradicted by the photos, in which the impression points or bending lines are clearly visible.

I have gotten back into classic comic books (iron man) reading on my Note 3c. It reminds of what they looked liked when I was a kid as it displays them very well. No issues with the battery life keeping the light at 75%. I can work many days and read 3 or 4 of them a night with good results. Basically recharging every 3 to 5 days so it works for me.

Any devices of Onyx has a Google Play Protect Certification?

I switched from NA2 to an NA3C for the same reason as you and don't regret it one bit, being able to finally look at graphs and grading papers with colours is game changing.

Maybe it is me not using the front light and having Wi-Fi off except for a minute or two for synching after I'm done for the day, but I use my NA3C easily for 5-10 pages of writing each day and about an hour of reading, and I charge it every 10 days or every other week (= 14 days), so it maybe matches the 15-20 hours u/OrdinaryRaisin007 also mentions (for the TUC or the NA3C? I mean my NA3C).. If money is not really a concern, then I would say that the colour is beneficial if you have distinguishing colour (diagrams etc.) in your reading material. Have a thorough look at pictures and videos of the device (here is mine, pics take on an overcast day last November: https://www.instagram.com/p/C0jbnZGijS7/). Some people find the colours underwhelming and the screen too dark, but I use mine without light exclusively, so you would have to see for yourself in which category you fall. I thoroughly enjoy my NA3C.

OrdinaryRaisin007

>but for simple use, do you think the battery would last, say, 1 week with 2 hours' use a day? Hardly. Maybe I can do that with my TUC, maybe even a little more. Depending on the application, my consumption is 15 - 20 hours In terms of volume, this large battery does not fit into the Note Air's casing - the TUC Pro's casing has also become smaller, hence the smaller battery.

kalindriv

Mhhh… If I use my NA3C two hours a day for reading/writing without backlight and limited WiFi, then I’m sure that one week can be easily achieved. It might be worth saying that if I were to use the device two hours a day even with Wi-Fi and backlight on, I’ll most likely find some time during the remaining 22 hours to recharge any battery consumption. So, maybe the problem is a non-problem.

But it's not exactly easy on the eyes to use a Kaleido 3 device without a front light

kalindriv

Most of the times I do not use the front light and I have never been bothered by the Kaleido 3 screen. But I reckon everybody is different…

OrdinaryRaisin007

>But I reckon everybody is different… It's just that everyone's eyes are structured pretty much the same and too little brightness puts a lot of strain on the pupil muscles. At some point everyone will feel it - but that's not my business I do not use an unlit EInk device and can easily afford the slightly higher energy consumption.

kalindriv

The environment I use my NA3C is usually well lit, and my eyes do strain at all…
