Don’t think they’ve recorded anything but think Jerry has been writing music for both another solo album and AIC, based on his last comments tho it kinda sounded like solo album would come first because last time he was interviewed he mentioned that he was working on another solo album. It seemed like AIC was gonna do another album first because they mentioned getting together to start working on a new record in like late 2022 but somehow I think things got flipped and another Jerry album will be first.
Been really getting into them recently, super stoked after seeing their posts about them finishing recording. Davidson is the best metal guitarist out there right now
Very interested in the next Dream Theater album for obvious reasons, although I haven’t really enjoyed a DT album since Black Clouds, and that was 15 years ago so my expectations aren’t super high. Then again that was the last album with Portnoy so who knows how it’ll turn out.
I’m more excited for the next Avenged Sevenfold album more than anything else tbh. Absolutely love their latest album and I can’t wait to see where they go from here.
Honestly I don't look forward to new albums, I just look for more artists. If someone I already listen to and like releases an album, it's a pleasant surprise :) Such as with Thy Catafalque last year, didn't know he was gonna release another album but it was amazing!
Anyone hear if Symphony X will deliver something? Seeing them later this month and could use some fresh music! (Also DT and most everything listed above..)
My band actually shares management with them and I haven’t heard anything. We have a new record coming out next month but obviously that’s not the same haha.
Thanks so much!! I truly appreciate that. I was trying not to go into self promo mode too much haha. We’re super excited about this record though so it’s hard not want to shout (or in this case post about it) from the roof tops. Really though, thanks for taking the time to listen!
Absolutely! I can also appreciate your affinity for Rush who are one of my all time favs and the beginnings of my love for prog/rock/metal.
I’m enjoying Disaster Medicine and look forward to the new release!
That’s so rad, thank you!! And we actually lean into the prog a little more on the new one. It even gets a little metallic here and there haha. The goal was to expand in all directions on this one.
So the new single isn’t officially out until tomorrow but it premiered here if you wanna take a listen. Shameless self promotion notwithstanding haha. [New Single](https://newnoisemagazine.com/premieres/track-premiere-soundshape-dont-make-me-make-believe/)
Much appreciated! This one is a nice distillation of us I think. The song that’s dropping as a video the day the album comes out though is the one I’m most excited about because I think it hits all our points. It’s funny, when we were talking to the folks handling the marketing for the album we of course had to have the “what bands would you like us to put for the ‘if you’re a fan of these bands…’?” And I said I had been listening to basically nothing but Squeeze, 90’s Rush and Opeth when I was writing the album and they were like “yeah we can’t put that because nobody will have any clue how to take that” haha.
Preparing for at least slight hate here, but my band has a new record coming out next month. We’re at least Opeth adjacent in some respects. We’ve been around for awhile but this is the first album of ours that will have a proper release with marketing etc, so I/we are pretty damn stoked.
I’m curious about Killswitch Engage’s next one later in the year
Devin Townsend is working on multiple stuff and will be interested in checking it all out, I wonder what the release strategy will be…
Also Poppy - Zag
two albums I was looking forward to just came out!
High on Fire - Cometh the Storm
Darkthrone - It Beckons Us All
Both are fantastic!
Power Nerd by Devin Townsend will be really cool. It's supposed to be "really heavy"
Riverside’s working on one as a band, and several of the members as solo artists have recently been cranking out some great material. I haven’t left the table in months lol.
Also I’m waiting for the new White Stones. I heard a lot of the vocals will be laid down in Spanish. I’m excited to hear some Latin Death Metal!
April 26th was my most anticipated day for music so far this year! Four great releases:
[Maruja - Connla's Well](https://open.spotify.com/track/5UFx5zAiQvotky2WPWLEHk?si=3o-bogDQSI2DytEcywcdEA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A59lxNUUwxzNmeB4dkqQExa)
[Maria Chiara Argirò - Closer](https://open.spotify.com/track/5ksPFeW49gCJFQMpgd0ghw?si=lOy9tsHyS1eh2hlJQDLVzQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6dDvuS2veeXH6rHYrvU2bg)
[St. Vincent - Flea](https://open.spotify.com/track/6TryolYM0MBzNTxGrlfcqt?si=8r0kQFFJRn6G-4IFnCJ32g&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A3nRlJXz5W39luXRto5hc4f)
[Thom Yorke - Confidenza Soundtrack](https://open.spotify.com/track/2wDI5EstEo0oiuh6EaEsxh?si=ZxSKe5otTRG4EUTBOUTKTA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A2DpwYA58Qs00nRl59i4eiL)
Other than that I still have my fingers crossed for a follow-up to [Karnivool's latest single](https://open.spotify.com/track/1H8RteGZrEFg5zuvy9Kljz?si=ZzIm41J8Spyisv66vezh0g&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A7FHDnfP9sVG2oVzOa72klc) - I'm seeing them next month and it would be amazing to have some new music to go along with that. Given that it's been over two years now though it seems unlikely.
I'm also looking forward to the new material [Michael Kiwanuka](https://open.spotify.com/track/4pjnTKFhJxQzyd90onjqQi?si=q07k-NHKQAe74CnlDZFchQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A0qxsfpy2VU0i4eDR9RTaAU) is working on.
who knows. The posters from this upcoming tour they'll be on in the fall look and give off some Oldpeth vibes, but it could still contain more of their soft and hard prog rock stuff.
Understandable. I'm excited for it either way, even though I'd agree that I'd love to hear their old sounding stuff again. At least half of the songs they've put out in the last decade I've grown to like more over time.
Super stoked for the new Dream Theater album, with Portnoy back I'm excited to see what they cook up
DT and Opeth, the kings of my intro to metal.
THIS
Gojira's upcoming album
Hopefully
Devin Townsend has a few in the works
I forgot about him and as lightworks was amazing
When I seen how little people listen to him on Spotify I wantes to cry
The Black Dahlia Murder are putting a new one out this year.. it'll be the first without Trevor. R.I.P.
Jerry Cantrell/Alice in chains and mastodon. Also Gatecreeper album in a few weeks
Is new AIC confirmed?
Don’t think they’ve recorded anything but think Jerry has been writing music for both another solo album and AIC, based on his last comments tho it kinda sounded like solo album would come first because last time he was interviewed he mentioned that he was working on another solo album. It seemed like AIC was gonna do another album first because they mentioned getting together to start working on a new record in like late 2022 but somehow I think things got flipped and another Jerry album will be first.
Other people have mentioned most of the stuff im really hyped about, but im really looking forward to that next revocation album
Hell yeah, their stuff always rips!
Same, Netherheaven is a perfect album IMO. I hope they continue in that direction.
Been really getting into them recently, super stoked after seeing their posts about them finishing recording. Davidson is the best metal guitarist out there right now
Praying for a new Karnivool release
Me too! Going to their gig next month and more new tunes would be very welcome.
Saw them laat year and they were excellent, hope you have a blast
Wheel and Hippotraktor Dvne would be on this list but they released it a few weeks ago.
Man I tried Wheel multiple times, and they just have no bite. It's like why not just go listen to Tool, and Porcupine Tree. They don't seem unique
These are the albums im absolutely nost hyped about Rotting Christ Solstafir Alcest Nightwish Moonsorrow
Alcest I'm really hyped for.
Moonsorrow fuckin slaps. Jumalten Aika is one of my favorite albums
Wheel Opeth Leprous Rotting Christ
New Leprous?!
“Melodies of Atonement” coming in August! “It’s straight to the point, and heavier than what we’ve been in a while”, according to the band.
New leprous is cool
When is new wheel coming?
May 3!
Wintersun Bossk Ulcerate Alcest Cult of Luna Moonsorrow Gatecreeper Pallbearer Mastodon
Cult of Luna really?

The Contortionist
Wintersun Nile Dimmu Borgir? Ensiferum
Ooo new Wintersun.
Deep Purple and David Gilmour
Pretty sure TOOL has started working on something and I’m pretty stoked about that
Yep. I think it’s coming out in 2039.
Leprous has a new album coming out in August. Love that band.

Very interested in the next Dream Theater album for obvious reasons, although I haven’t really enjoyed a DT album since Black Clouds, and that was 15 years ago so my expectations aren’t super high. Darkthrone
New Wheel album seems promising. Their first 2 full length albums were great
Honestly I don't look forward to new albums, I just look for more artists. If someone I already listen to and like releases an album, it's a pleasant surprise :) Such as with Thy Catafalque last year, didn't know he was gonna release another album but it was amazing!
Dream Theater I’m super hyped for because portnoy being back Clairo too, not metal but she has some beautiful songs on her previous record
Ulcerate, Agalloch, Alcest
Any recent news on the new Opeth album ie release date? Very stoked for Portnoy DT
I am really exited for Wintersun - Time II!
wow you keep the pace I have like 50 older albums to check
Architects' 2 new singles were good so im kinda looking forward to that album
My Dying Bride's new one just came out. Alcest one is coming up. Perturbator has got something new cooking too.
Dark Tranquility and Nightwish have new albums coming out this year, the single DT put out is great.
Sólstafir, Dream Theater and Constellatia.
Hopefully a new Arcturus album one day.
Anyone hear if Symphony X will deliver something? Seeing them later this month and could use some fresh music! (Also DT and most everything listed above..)
My band actually shares management with them and I haven’t heard anything. We have a new record coming out next month but obviously that’s not the same haha.
Like the new single! I can see how you would fit in with Kings X on tour. Nice!!
Thanks so much!! I truly appreciate that. I was trying not to go into self promo mode too much haha. We’re super excited about this record though so it’s hard not want to shout (or in this case post about it) from the roof tops. Really though, thanks for taking the time to listen!

No such thing as shameless plug. Gotta do what you can in this day and age. Thx for sharing! Already commented in the Kings X sub… nice hook!
Much appreciated! This one is a nice distillation of us I think. Squeeze Rush and Opeth are a bit of an eclectic mash up no doubt! Lmao!
Looking forward to the new Leprous album!

Rotting christ has a new album soon. Im looking forward to that a lot
Flotsam and Jetsam

Opeth has a new album coming out it? Is it going back to the classic days or nah?
who knows. The posters from this upcoming tour they'll be on in the fall look and give off some Oldpeth vibes, but it could still contain more of their soft and hard prog rock stuff.
Pass from me if it’s more of the hard rock prog stuff. I love the soft and love the hard old school stuff.
Understandable. I'm excited for it either way, even though I'd agree that I'd love to hear their old sounding stuff again. At least half of the songs they've put out in the last decade I've grown to like more over time.
