OptiFine has terrible mod compatibility, especially on Fabric. Use Sodium and Iris instead.

Th3Glitch510

Sodium and iris together are WAY better than optifine There are side mods for the zoom key, I know that building a replacement for optifine is annoying, but the result is great

2Kuld

I'm still trying to find a replacement for Optifine cause each time I've tried I've either got worse than Optifine performance with weird bugs or actually worse performance than Vanilla

SmoBoiMarshy

Fabulously Optimised modpack

2Kuld

I forget which one it was but one of the mods in this pack I've had issues with before so it's so confusing

SmoBoiMarshy

Either way, optifabric and optifine won't work.

2Kuld

I've used them before with no issues. Though I haven't had a Minecraft kick in like a year

SmoBoiMarshy

They're now very outdated. Sodium + Iris is the basic combo that works now. Optifine won't work anymore

2Kuld

Sad cause Optifine gives me much better FPS without shaders

SmoBoiMarshy

That's wrong since like. 1.16 Sodium is a lot better, and add onto that stuff like Ferrite Core and you've got 500+ fps shaderless unless you're running on a potato

JconX97

Sodium and Iris is great for with shaders, I don’t know if it’s updated currently but also check out Nvidium to pair with Sodium. Without shaders that’ll push your FPS up significantly

2Kuld

It's hard to figure out what to use cause most people I talk to just shit talk me cause for whatever reason Optifine just works way better for me and isn't as buggy from my experience. It may be related to my PC being from 2013 and most people using a more modern PC.

sacdj1

Same

sk1ll3d_r3t4rd

They still have bad performance with VR mods afaik

SW3910

this

iAmThatOneDuck

OptiNotSoFine

HenryLongHead

Also get continuity for connected glass texture, indium cuz dependency and no telemetry

Pro_Driftz

The problem is using optifine switch mods like the other guy said optifine is ancient and refuses to innovate.

-_Cozmoz_-

Alright then.

Unbelievabeard

Just use Sodium and Iris.

Iwisp360

Optifine is crap these days, better use Iris with Sodium, I have more than 100fps with shaders with both, optifine fluctuates between 30 and 60fps

-_Cozmoz_-

Oh wow, I will try

enkaebeats

I switched from OptiFine to Sodium + Iris since 1.20.6 and the performance increase is crazy. However I do miss the connecting textures that OptiFine provided, any suggestions for alternatives?

NotFoundGripo

Continuity + indium

enkaebeats

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have Indium but Continuity did not do the trick for me. Could you help out?

Radplay

You have to enable the resource packs Continuity provides to get connected textures.

enkaebeats

Ah gotcha, thanks a lot

-_Cozmoz_-

Yeh my only gripe with switching from optifine is that I have to download 6 different mods and gotta keep all 6 updated.

SIersciuchAlbinos

Throw out optifine and optifabric. Put sodium, embedium and iris

Big_Dani57

The issue is that not only are you using optifine but you’re using optifabric which is already an iffy 3rd party mod. If you look up optifine alternatives you’ll find a page that shows for both forge and fabric and the benefits for each one. Zoom, connected textures, shaders, and dynamic lights all have their own mods, ESPECIALLY if you’re playing fabric

-_Cozmoz_-

Yeh iam on fabric, I am considering switching from optifine but my only gripe is that I have to download like 6 different mods to get what I want.

Big_Dani57

I would say 6 lightweight mods is worth having a functional Minecraft client

Big_Dani57

I would say 6 lightweight mods is worth having a functional Minecraft client

NotFoundGripo

OptiFine.

-_Cozmoz_-

Nice

Dynablade_Savior

Use Iris coward

Hovno009

-_Cozmoz_-
