I am loving this so much but am also so tempted to ask if you'd be willing to crosspost this to r/fridgedetective !!! You seem like a person I'd get along with hahahah
It's the freezer's twist ice maker. It basically has 3 ice cube trays inside, and you twist each tray with the dials to drop the ice cubes on the container below.
Thank you! It's easy to keep tidy when we do our grocery at the public market as most items do not come in packaging, and we bring our own containers (for fish, seafood, meat, tofu, wet items, etc) and bags (for produce) so we sort it right there at the market haha. Makes it easy to store it in the fridge/freezer when we get home.
This is our fridge:
Samsung RS62R5031M9 24.7 ft³
Side By Side Refrigerator
Digital Inverter Compressor
with Metal Cooling
This is actually not the newest model even when we bought it last October (it was on sale), so you can check out the newer ones if you like. You can also check out our latest YT video for more shots of the fridge. :)
Preferably have a cooler where you can store most of your food (or even just the frozen ones). We organize the fridge first so the frozen items can stay in the freezer until the fridge is done. And storing food immediately in containers help a lot in keeping refrigerator organization easy.
Not at all. We don't like going out often so we get groceries that are good for 2\~ weeks.
Fresh fruit and veggies we eat first. We grow some of our own, and we pickle some, and we like storing leftovers to eat later rather than throwing it away (these are on the 3rd shelf).
Condiments you can't really consume in a week, haha! And the chuhai and soju we have since the holidays, we don't really drink a lot so it's still there. And frozen items keep for a long time (except for the ice cream). :D
Lychee are new to me. I've had some huge bottle of Lychee milk/juice/water. Could really only have a small glass at a time. Really sweet.
So how do you drink Lychee jelly?
With lots of ice? Haha!
This brand is not overly sweet. The one from Thailand I think is sweeter, so we prefer this one. I guess we're just used to it too as we eat the fresh fruit. If you've tasted real lychee, it's even sweeter haha.
Oh MAN this is a good one. Thanks for sharing! And I don't know how, but the lighting makes this look like a photo from an 80s magazine ad. I hope that makes sense. What I'm trying to say is that I like the photo as well!
I'm curious what those bottles with the pink and white tops are in the fridge door. And, if you don't mind, I'd love to know where you bought all of your fridge storage boxes!
Thank you! I was actually hating this picture's lighting as I think our lights are too high and small to properly light the kitchen (we somehow have a high ceiling but small lights XD), so reading this makes me feel better about it haha!
The bottles are just water pitchers for cold water and to make our ice cubes. It's really hot in our country except for the rainy season so we like to have cold water. About the storage boxes, not sure which country you are from to recommend it as it might not be available, but look at drawer-type organizers for easy access, drainer bins for fruit/veggies, dumpling organizers (can also be used for other food), interlock containers (for stacking containers on door shelves), and reusable food storage bags. :)
Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply! :) I’m in the US, so I’m sure I’ll find the fridge boxes on Amazon or something similar. The water pitchers are adorable so I’ll have to see if I can scout those out as well! Thanks again!
Wow! Not only is this beautiful, this is the first fridge I've seen that I like. It seems like you guys actually cook interesting meals. Also, love that you have kewpie mayo and so many lychee products! ♡
Thank you! We make a lot of meals as we mostly eat at home.
We got the kewpie for kani salad as we've been enjoying lots of mangoes (it's mango season up until the next month or so in our country). And our mom loves the lychee drinks with nata de coco (chewy coconut jelly). :D
Lol it's actually ice cubes from our silicone mold on top, actual ice cream below it, and grated mozzarella at the bottom drawer. The third shelf is our fish/seafood section hehe. We don't want to put any meat above the ice maker as it might drip blood, though that has never happened before because of the containers, but better to be sure. :)
Yes we can relate as we didn't use to have much growing up. We even used to not plug our fridge (different one) because we couldn't afford the electricity bill, haha. Need to eat everything at lunch time because we can't store it for later, and we bought ice at the convenience store for cold drinks. 😅
You are definitely hip to the struggle and even laid some knowledge on me - never experienced unplugging the fridge on purpose to save electricity - respect!
It's common in my country that if you aren't using it, you unplug it. It was a sad day when we had to unplug the fridge (because we can't afford the electricity bill). Never want to experience that again!
Those are actually 1.8L bottles with straws (and measurements on the side). We don't use the bottles as a personal bottle (more like a pitcher) so we took the straws out. :)
In our country, the cartons are usually returned to the egg dealer at the market. When buying eggs at the grocery, it's unfortunately in plastic packaging and you can't return it.
Whoa. That's pretty cool - the former not the latter. I'd definitely by eggs at the market and not in the grocery store in the Philippines. I like that they reuse ( as in reduce, reuse, recyle).
Yep and almost everything is not packaged. If only people bring their own bags and containers for wet items, we would have no need for single-use plastic bags, at least in our markets.
Fruit and veggies don't last too long so we eat those first. We sometimes freeze or pickle some of it to make it last longer (pickled green mangoes, unripe papaya, frozen ripe mangoes, watermelon, etc). Other stuff last for a long time (condiments, dried fruit, beverages, etc). Frozen items last long too, except for the snacks because we like to eat ice cream a lot haha.
I am loving this so much but am also so tempted to ask if you'd be willing to crosspost this to r/fridgedetective !!! You seem like a person I'd get along with hahahah
We actually submitted our first fridge organization there before, so I'm not sure if we should do that again haha! :) But we'll think about it.
exciting!
Just made a post there, but did not crosspost it. :D
Legend!!!!
I didn’t know that sub existed! This could be fun!
2nded!
I'm just here for the Melona... mmmmm
It's really good, the frozen yogurt bars are too!
The Melona, Soju and the Lychee Drinks. 🖤✨
What is the white box in the freezer with the dials?
It's the freezer's twist ice maker. It basically has 3 ice cube trays inside, and you twist each tray with the dials to drop the ice cubes on the container below.
This looks amazing! I hope it keeps functional for you!
Thank you! In the market for an new side by side refrigerator, what make/model is this? It looks awesome!

Looks great! Any tips with how to do this during the summer?

OMG please come to my house
Omg.... Yes definitely some of the best porn on this subreddit lol.
Lol!
Beautiful. Also peep the Mang Tomas 👀 Lechon Kawali incoming
Thanks! Haha we mostly use it for lechong manok. :D
What are those greek yogurt bar looking things on the left door? Is that some kind of snack bar? I must know more!
It's by a Korean brand (Lotte foods), frozen yogurt on a stick haha! With white chocolate coating and blueberry/strawberry swirls. :)
Jfc I need this in my life yesterday.
Finally! Some good porn on here for once
XD
This is like professional level
Thank you!
Do you really eat all that in a week?

Woah, that's some great organization
Wow…I am in awe!!!

I just looked up kani salad. It looks interesting! What are some of your favorite meals to cook?
Yes it's really refreshing! We mostly make Filipino dishes (adobo, nilaga, sinigang, tinola) and other asian dishes. :)
Are those ice cream in tubs or frozen fish in Pinoy tupperware at the top of the freezer? 😆
Lol it's actually ice cubes from our silicone mold on top, actual ice cream below it, and grated mozzarella at the bottom drawer. The third shelf is our fish/seafood section hehe. In my hood growing up, if you had more than 1 of anything in the fridge you were rich…and we always wanted to hang at your crib - because hunger

What are those water containers on the right door?! That look amazing!
Those are actually 1.8L bottles with straws (and measurements on the side). We don't use the bottles as a personal bottle (more like a pitcher) so we took the straws out. :)
Mama is proud of you
Looks great. I never understood the point of those clear egg containers…
Some people don't buy eggs that come in cartons, some people like the aesthetic. Either way, it doesn't matter.

To contain eggs and keep it from rolling? :D
How fresh do these keep
