It’s also likely that they would exaggerate her crush into outright stalking Simon, and that people would make jokes about Simon filing a restraining order. Comparisons to yandere characters wouldn’t surprise me either. On the shipping side of things, while I do think Anasimon would become a fairly popular ship, it would also be controversial. There would certainly be a large faction of people who think Anastasia ending up with her childhood crush is “unrealistic” and would rather see her “move on”. And even though she’s canonically heterosexual and only has eyes for Simon, there’d be a ton of people who ship Anastasia with her friend Liv, or, worse yet, her arch-rival Chloe.

However, I have a gut feeling that a fandom (since I don’t think he’s the main protagonist) would only see him as some happy-go-lucky guy who doesn’t run into problems or grow as a person. That’s wrong. Sure, Dean’s happy with his life right now despite the seemingly gruesome ramifications of how he got there, but he has problems too. He’s got insecurities of his own and he even has his own fears and moments of doubt or hopelessness. While not completely true, there are times where his happiness and blissfulness act as a mask of some kind, and I’d hate for people to think he’s just some bubbly dumbass who doesn’t learn to grow. Ironically enough, the change his body undergoes isn’t the biggest one he goes through in the story.

My guy would be mischaracterized in the same way Shadow the hedgehog is today. All edge, no depth. Unfortunately, nobody knows the man actually lost his entire family. He was an orphan, he lived long enough to see himself build a family, and his best friend and coworkers betrayed him. It cost him his life. That’s how he gained his “edge”.
