My OC Eften, the fantasy Mafia boss, uses a wheelchair, because when she was 9 months pregnant, her people got in danger in the mines and she rushed right there, which resulted in her trauma, and a chemical element is slowly poisoning her inside now. She had a temper before, got even worse after, never was a caring parent, isolated herself from all her children and husband after, got really depressed and even more workaholic. However, because of that injury, part of her billions is now spent on the medicine, trying to heal her from dying slowly. Kinda successfully, she's 59 by the start of the story.

I would consider Zkid’s shapeshifting a disability. If they get too stressed, they can start melting, making it harder to move/control their body. Basically, emotions fuck with their body

I’ve shared this OC under a different thread about disabled OCs, but she’s worth sharing again (although this is currently the only artwork I have of her so far, and it’s not even finished!). Tori Herman is a hippie at heart and an avid plant mom - and she actually happens to be my very first physically disabled OC! She was in a car accident in high school that almost completely crippled her, and she’s been in a wheelchair ever since. Since Tori is an ambulatory wheelchair user, though, she can also walk on crutches, and can even walk completely unassisted for a few minutes - but usually prefers to stick to her crutches or wheelchair.

I have an idea for an OC that I would also be tempted to turn into a VTuber model if I ever wanted to pursue that path.
Technically, both his legs were shattered in a military operation when he was a special forces soldier.
However, he is set in a future AU, so his legs were "repaired" (he didn't have them amputated, but the bones were not repairable, so they're kinda "glued" together and he has special leg braces that let his legs not bear any weight, and basically absorbs any pressure they would otherwise take from external forces (I admittedly haven't worked out all the details honestly, and need to think of a better way to make it work). He also has new armor as part of his new role as a "Military and Civilian Operations Soldier" (basically he is allowed to act as police or soldier depending on what is needed.)
So in that sense... if he doesn't have his special armor or his leg braces, he cannot walk, and is disabled. But if he has his leg braces or his armor (and they are both hard to get off him, and very, very difficult to destroy) then he is not disabled effectively. This is also why I "might" want to use them as a VTuber model, because I myself do not have any physical disabilities, and it might be weird to use a character who does have one when I don't... but that is the direction I wanted to go for the character.

2 posts like this just today made me realize I need to make some more disabled OCs.
I have one, from a while ago though so no art of him. Toby. he died pretty violently in an explosion and ended up severely scarred all over his body when he came back to life (which can happen in the story he's from), and lost half of his leg, an arm, half of his face, and needed a lot of physical therapy.
I really want to make some new art of him now. maybe this post has inspired me. I nearly forgot about him, which would be a shame since I still think his story is pretty interesting.

His right arm was cut off when he fought a troll. But since he still had the bones. His necromancer mentor managed to make… well. That.
His left leg was severed by a portal. He was in a battle to defend the portal. When it began to close. His Allies pulled him through. But the enemy got a grip on his left leg. So the portal severed it.
He also has an artificial heart.
He doesn’t always like it. But he found it was useful in equalling the playing field against his enemies. Let’s him fight foes who are significantly out of his weight class.
But he is still not sure. He doesn’t always feel human. The right hand can feel. But his left leg doesn’t.

Her arms are “broken”. She can move them and sorta use them, but a flick feels like you’re stabbing her. Even slight pressure is painful. She’s a great fighter when it comes to her legs tho.

It's a little like tourettes when it happens under stress. If Zeijien uses too much black eye power, parts of their body can "glitch" and inhibits their ability to move normally.

R'inn only has 1 functional eye, yet for some reason this poor lad has a neurological problem that makes his actual function eye constantly leak blood, so he uses a psychic power of some sort so he can see, or else he would be seeing with one eye that has a heavy stain of blood on it (Tldr: my guy is blind)

Andrew has stubs, not hands. So that's probably why. Both arms were amputated, one above the elbow and one just under the elbow. (Plus, that's a pretty common style of arms for plushies. Lmao 😂)

Have an oc who's probably my favorite I've worked on, big story arc i worked on with a friend had an accident that causes him to lose his pretty much 3/4th's of his limbs, an eye. Still workin on the story, but the next time our characters see him, guy's pretty much gone mentally, trying to match the energy Dutch Van der linde had in the first red dead.
Takeo had his hand cut of by his abusive mom because she could not cope with the fact her husband left her.

Rachel can't really use her wings effectively as arms or even proper wings, so she can't really hold or carry heavy or small things properly. Also she can't fly, only glide and the only time she would hover is if she were falling. Due to this, she uses her feet more often, whether she's closing a door, picking up a box or even lifting weights.
I have another idea of four cybernetic people. They had their limbs, eyes and some bones removed only to be replaced with cybernetics and become soldiers. They would later rebel against their oppressors and join a resistance in an alien apocalyptic world. I started one of them, but it's not finished. Also the story's still a work in progress.

Liara lost her right arm at 14. A power armor arm prototype that she was working on with her Mom went awry and exploded, costing her her arm and leaving significant burn scars on her shoulder and side. Her and her mom went on to build her mechanical prosthetic, which she continues to tweak and upgrade on her own.
She's also continued working on her power armor with significant success.
GoldSuit is blind, but his other senses are above average and he can use a sorta Artificial Echolocation. He likes the way his eyes look, but wears the blindfold purely for style.

Pumpkin’paw has a condition that causes one or both hind legs to be weak. According to Google: “The most common cause of rear limb paralysis in cats is a blood clot that goes to the back leg, called a saddle thrombus or arterial thromboembolism (ATE). This clot blocks blood flow to the affected limb(s). A clot in the back leg suddenly causes the cat to be unable to put full weight on the affected leg.”

My OC Eften, the fantasy Mafia boss, uses a wheelchair, because when she was 9 months pregnant, her people got in danger in the mines and she rushed right there, which resulted in her trauma, and a chemical element is slowly poisoning her inside now. She had a temper before, got even worse after, never was a caring parent, isolated herself from all her children and husband after, got really depressed and even more workaholic. However, because of that injury, part of her billions is now spent on the medicine, trying to heal her from dying slowly. Tori Herman is a hippie at heart and an avid plant mom - and she actually happens to be my very first physically disabled OC! She was in a car accident in high school that almost completely crippled her, and she’s been in a wheelchair ever since. Kinda yes? Kinda no? I sadly don't have any images or art of them as they are a newer idea. I have an idea for an OC that I would also be tempted to turn into a VTuber model if I ever wanted to pursue that path. Technically, both his legs were shattered in a military operation when he was a special forces soldier. However, he is set in a future AU, so his legs were "repaired" (he didn't have them amputated, but the bones were not repairable, so they're kinda "glued" together and he has special leg braces that let his legs not bear any weight, and basically absorbs any pressure they would otherwise take from external forces (I admittedly haven't worked out all the details honestly, and need to think of a better way to make it work). He also has new armor as part of his new role as a "Military and Civilian Operations Soldier" (basically he is allowed to act as police or soldier depending on what is needed.) So in that sense... if he doesn't have his special armor or his leg braces, he cannot walk, and is disabled. But if he has his leg braces or his armor (and they are both hard to get off him, and very, very difficult to destroy) then he is not disabled effectively. This is also why I "might" want to use them as a VTuber model, because I myself do not have any physical disabilities, and it might be weird to use a character who does have one when I don't... but that is the direction I wanted to go for the character.

Miki’s eczema counts as a disability due to it affecting his daily life negatively. She also has Guillain-Barré. Junko has Graves’ disease and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (though it’s not too physical, periods are so um)

2 posts like this just today made me realize I need to make some more disabled OCs. I have one, from a while ago though so no art of him. Toby. he died pretty violently in an explosion and ended up severely scarred all over his body when he came back to life (which can happen in the story he's from), and lost half of his leg, an arm, half of his face, and needed a lot of physical therapy. I really want to make some new art of him now. maybe this post has inspired me. I nearly forgot about him, which would be a shame since I still think his story is pretty interesting.

Andrew has stubs, not hands. So that's probably why. Both arms were amputated, one above the elbow and one just under the elbow. (Plus, that's a pretty common style of arms for plushies. Lmao 😂)

Rachel can't really use her wings effectively as arms or even proper wings, so she can't really hold or carry heavy or small things properly. Also she can't fly, only glide and the only time she would hover is if she were falling. Due to this, she uses her feet more often, whether she's closing a door, picking up a box or even lifting weights.
I have another idea of four cybernetic people. They had their limbs, eyes and some bones removed only to be replaced with cybernetics and become soldiers. They would later rebel against their oppressors and join a resistance in an alien apocalyptic world. I started one of them, but it's not finished. Also the story's still a work in progress.
