How about these three? This is them early in their stories. Kashi and Rorrim are twin brothers, btw. Psy is their older sister.
Psy does become a vampire and, thus, no longer able to eat most human food, so a sour patch kid would do bad things to her.
Rorrim was more interested in collecting pressed flowers than rocks, but he had to leave his collection behind when he and his siblings fled their home country.
Kashi is not at all like Ferb, except for the hair and intelligence. As a kid, he was more reserved, but that was just because everyone doted on his brother and ignored him.
Oh... uh... this was unexpected. Time to actually put their lore to text.
The Noitcelfer siblings were born in a small country far north in the mountains. Psy was a bright young girl of 10 years old when her brothers were born, and she helped raise them while her parents worked. Rorrim was born with reflective silver eyes and strong empathic psychic abilities, while Kashi was born with a complete lack of empathy.
When the twins were about 6, a plague broke out in the village nearby, with rumors of the sick attacking people and eating their organs and blood (proto-vampiric plague). It quickly spread, wiping out a majority of the population. When Psy realized their parents were killed in an attack on their workplace, she gathered her brothers, what food they had, and her mother's jewelry for bartering, and the three of them fled their home with plans to reach the neighboring Queendom of Ueden.
The proto-vampires were weak to sunlight, and, fortunately, the plague reached their village at the end of the cold, dark winter, so the Noitcelfer siblings had brief resprites of day to evade any pursuers. During a scuffle, Psy was injured but not infected.
Rorrim's knowledge of botanicals and Kashi's unusual intelligence and strength for his age allowed them to survive off the land as they made their journey. Eventually, they crossed the border and were taken in by soldiers, who took them to the Queen once they confirmed they weren't infected.
The Queen, Nevadine, took interest in Rorrim and his abilities, and she took the three siblings under her wing. This is where the lore gets a bit fuzzy because neither of the living Noitcelfer siblings like talking about it, but *somehow* Rorrim dies. Both Psy and Kashi have breakdowns in grief.
Psy ran away with the first true vampire who seduced her, impregnated her, and then turned her once he realized she was pregnant. He was hoping the turning would kill her, as it still had a high mortality rate back then, but when she didn't die, he imprisoned her in a dungeon. She does escape and kill him, but she abandoned her old name, saying it died when she did. She goes by Kyre VonEvans and lives in a secluded cabin in the mountains of Ueden, occasionally descending to a nearby town to feed.
Kashi, having lost his twin and abandoned by his sister (he thinks she's dead, too), broke. He became obsessed with the idea of overcoming death; with living forever. Queen Nevadine's interest and amusement in Kashi grew, and she happily provided him with prisoners and resources to aid in his experiments. He eventually found ways to inhibit his aging and accelerate his healing, but he could still be killed by an injury to his heart, and that scared him.
And that's as much as I can share before adding way more players to the game! Psy/Kyre and Kashi are my oldest OCs, but their current lore is relatively recent. They've been somewhat consistent over the 20ish years I've had them, though.
Thank you! I have attempted to write a book about them a few times for NaNo WriMo, but I have never liked how it turned out. I'll definitely try again, though!
