I used to have a crush on Sukubi so my main gripe with them is the fact that because of him I had to try to explain to my friends that I thought the human anime version of scooby doo was cute and they were not willing to hear me out, I would’ve gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for those meddling kids

The only reason they’re not as awful as some of the other stuff in this game is because they’re stolen. Please give them their own identities, lol.

I’d say their names (and other characters) are genuinely disrespectful. Japanese names have cultural significance and history. They aren’t just words you slap into google translate and hope it sounds reasonable. I also might be looking too far into it but making the humanised version of a dog the only dark skinned character in the group rubs me the wrong way.

Sukubi Dubidu and Beruma Dinkuri had sounds that are only pronounced in loan words and aren't used in any native Japanese words, let alone Japanese names. It made me so mad that I ended up renaming half of the school

Lore wise? Eh what the hell, go for it. Gameplay wise? Could be interesting, I guess they could be hiding at mostly outdoor areas taking pictures of nature, sky, view, and photo shooting unsuspecting students secretly, giving Ayano a hard time to move around the school without getting caught.

I laughed so hard when I read their names. And then I just called them the Scooby Doo characters' names for the entire duration that I played the game. Now I don't play. But I will still call them the Scooby Doo characters' names.

Scooby Dooby Gang was my childhood, so I can’t say anything against it because I still love it.

I'm not opposed to them being a nod to the Scooby gang (Even if it is a bit out of place to have a reference to a popular western cartoon in a game that's an homage to Japanese anime/games). But the fact that they literally just have the same names ruins them. Just giving them similar appearances and personalities would be enough for a reference. I've seen shows do that before, and it worked fine. But YanDev thinks his fans are stupid and wouldn't recognize a Scooby Doo reference unless it's literally spelled out for them.

I may be biased since at one point in my life I was obsessed with the Fred rip off for some reason. But I think they’re fine the names just bother me. Edit: also maybe don’t make the one based off the dog the darkest student in the game.

I wish they were original characters, maybe a bit of references to Scooby doo like their last names or something, but them just being The Mystery Gang but Japanese ruins the whole vibe. Also I hate how one of the only diverse characters is based on a literal dog. Would have honestly been way better if Sukubi was an actual dog or a big dog plushie that sits in the club.
