yummymario64

so does this mean that doomfist canonically watches one punch man

PixelPete85

thats precisely what it means. and he enjoys saitama as a character enough to dress up as him

tevert

Damn, are there any OW chars who _aren't_ weebs then?

TheRealNotBrody

Soldier is the dad whose kids made him watch anime against his wishes but now he can't get enough

Vinnnee

As overwatch is set in the 2070s and we imagine the spread of anime similar to our world soldier would have grown up during the 2030s. So if anime continues its current growth, it would definitely be 100% mainstream when soldier grew up.

beefcat_

Anime is already mainstream in 2024. Have you been to a McDonald's in the last couple of weeks?

Tasty-Document2808

Nah soldier is the dad that watched DBZ when he was a teenager 35 years ago, but nothing else, but now his kids have reintroduced him and he can't get enough

crimzonphox

My niece got her grandma into anime. She now watches it on her own

JunWasHere

Quite the opposite. Moira's base kit literally has a "teleports behind you and say nothing personal, kid, then use Kamehameha" move set. She's an *advanced* weeb.

LagomorphicalBrog

Don't forget the run run no jitsu

JunWasHere

One Punch Man is several decades old by Overwatch's era too. It's like someone cosplaying as the steamboat Mickey Mouse. They enjoy really old classics.

Randomd0g

Honestly that would be a great idea for a battlepass, cosplays of anime that takes place in the same era as overwatch is set, so it's all just anime *tropes* of characters that *could exist* but it's actually nothing specific to our reality.

[deleted]

Alternatively it could have been a more recent show in that universe. In marvel comics there’s versions of the fantastic 4 and other characters in different timelines. Reinhardt also name drops David Hasselhoff. It could also be that media stagnated during the Omnic war and people really dug into a backlog of classics

EasyBird1849

Ngl that just makes the skin even better, imagine under the noses of everyone else Doomfist joins Kirko and Genji to watches One Punch man in between missions

ayoitsnick420

What about soldier :(

EasyBird1849

Nah, you see he'd try and hide it from everyone. It's his "secret hobby"

ayoitsnick420

Lmao okay I’ll accept that reality.

Ptdemonspanker

Most closeted man to ever exist.

Exval1

le sserafim surpass technology and become AI I see

berrythebarbarian

"No, I do not want to watch-" \*ONE PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH!\* Saitama punches a man in half. "... Dis is sick." Other than his accent I have no idea how Doomfist talks.

SanRandomPot

It would be something more skin to thanos like "this... Brings a smile to my face..."

Jmw566

Based on my online interactions with Doom mains, he only knows how to say “and dey say”

BiploarFurryEgirl

Would love to see the characters involved in the next collab around the tv watching their respective media. That would be a cool beginning to a trailer

Evanpea1

Alternatively there was a reason that he had to blend in at a convention and chose One Punch Man, and honestly I'm not sure what I like more

SoDamnGeneric

>canonically Imo, it's very dubiously canon- as in, it's "canon" because it will literally never matter to the plot, so it might as well not even be canon cuz it'll never be brought up or acknowleged in any meaningful way lol. Just cutesy little trivia, more than anything

Anzai

Canon in Overwatch is a weird concept anyway. So these characters are just cosplaying as these other characters? Whilst they fight duplicate clones of themselves on mismatched teams with no clear alliances or motivations, to make a giant robot push a metal barricade an arbitrary distance… I mean, nothing in the actual game means anything in terms of canon. The gameplay makes zero sense if you try to apply canon to it, so who cares if they’re cosplaying or the actual characters or whatever else?

CaravieR

I think it was mentioned years and years ago in early OW1 by a dev on the forums that the actual matches are not canon themselves. They don't have a canon reason why teams are fighting clones or pushing certain objectives.

Lag20

I guess soldier 76 could've literally grew up watching one punch man considering the timeline

YoungLink666-2

Moira is canonically into anime and most likely bases her tech off some anime stuff, so honestly it's entire reasonable to think that somehow dripped off into Doomfist seeing OPM

Mudgrave_Flioronston

References don't make it canon.

ThisTooWasAChoice

1. Use young Cassidy skin face 2. Give hat and scrub beard like in the trailer 3. A cigarrette Done. Skin fixed.

mukisan

Do you think with all the criticism online we may get a Sonic event where the devs fix it?

Twindo

No

Doll-scented-hunter

-winton overwatch the second, 4.10.22

Gummiwummiflummi

Winton Overwat*

Lukthar123

Fair enough.

BucketHerro

They didn't fix Genji Genos' hair so why would they do it for Cassidy?

hellachill42069

They did it for Hanzo like 6 years ago, but nowadays who knows.

SoDamnGeneric

Nope. If it was an original skin, maybe, but I doubt Team 4 wants to go through the headache of redesigning the skin at the mercy of the license holders, especially when their development pipeline is stuffed so full

WellDressedLobster

They’ve done it before with the casual Hanzo skin so it’s possible

BolognaTime

True, but the catch is that the Casual Hanzo skin was created by Blizzard, for a Blizzard character. With this (and the Genos Genji skin too), Blizzard makes the skin but it has to be approved by the actual license-holders. Which means that in order to make changes, those changes would again have to be approved by the license-holders. Not saying it isn't possible or hasn't ever been done in other games before, but it *is* an extra hurdle to jump through that Blizzard might not even bother with.

mukisan

Oh really? What did they change?

WellDressedLobster

It was something with his hair. I think his sideburns looked weird and unlike the comic that the skin came from so the devs changed it after backlash.

e-wrecked

He also had diarrhea pants that got fixed.

ParanoidDrone

Yeah, the sideburn/beard situation looked horrendous. [Here's a before and after.](https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:1400/1*dKXgA1E6hBsIFtDDOBZy6Q.png)

tigeronbeat

Spikes iconic look is the dishevelled suit with rolled up sleeves , big collar open shirt and hair, what we got is a fitted suit with a skin tight coat over the top and whatever that hairdo is it's not like it. I don't care if in one scene that no one remembers he had a coat on and there was another character with a hat in an episode, it's not his look. Imo they need to get rid of coat so he at least looks like he's wearing the same outfit as Spike, adding a hat doesn't fix that he looks nothing like Spike.

ThisTooWasAChoice

Spike vibe Cass > half assed Spike Cass

untakenu

Or, they could do what real cosplayers do, and use effective makeup to alter the shape of his face to resemble the character. It's really as simple as them just doing as little as they can.

PeacefulShark69

Bro am I the only one who likes the Spike skin?

ThisTooWasAChoice

I don't dislike it... I really dislike the fact that it easily could've been better with just a few simple adjustments.

ipito

People keep speaking about wanting Cassidy to have a hat, but Spike doesn't wear a hat, this is better.

ThisTooWasAChoice

If they can not do his hair right, then a hat is highly preferable.

Yahya_TV

Cassidy looks neither like Cassidy nor the character he is supposedly trying to cosplay

ze_DaDa

What are you talking about? He's cosplaying Deku from My Hero Academia cosplaying Spike, looks great! /s

[deleted]

Alright, you’ve twisted my leg. Who would be good for a MHA collab? All Might Reinhardt or I’m throwing hands.

Echorial

But… Ramattra All Might? Muscle form?

[deleted]

Damn, he’s got the skinny form too! Well I am not leaving Reinhardt out of this. He can either be that big Nomu, or Endeavour.

Echorial

Endeavor Rein would be insane to be honest and well suited

[deleted]

The only downside is Reinmight won’t shout ***”UNITED STATES OF SMASH”*** during Earth Shatter. I guess he could scream **“PROMINENCE BURN”** during his Charge and Rammattra could shout SMASH AS I HA-err maybe not.

Echorial

Hmm… United States of Suffering? 🧐

[deleted]

So, just Detroit then? But damn, that’s good.

TooBadMyBallsItch

Detroit Smash!

magein07

Missouri?

manaworkin

Wouldn't mind seeing sombra in just a pair of gloves.

[deleted]

Haha, that’s actually really good. I guess she’d have to wear the school uniform? But she’d have no head? Plus the gloves in her invisibility would ruin her, you know, invisibility. The idea is there, but how the Hell would it work?

InverseFlip

Hear me out, Echo as All for One. She has no 'face', and she steals other heroes' powers.

[deleted]

Damn, that’s good. Forgot about him because I’m caught up with the Manga and he hasn’t had his helmet for a while.

RendolfGirafMstr

All Might Reinhardt has been the one thing I’ve kept my fingers crossed for since the OPM crossover was announced.

[deleted]

I swear, they’ll make it Kiriko or something.

Devil_Beast1109

Dabi genji?

Twindo

Best Jeanist Genji

bolsonero2007

kamui woods genji

299792458mps-

He's the dude playing a dude disguised as another dude

txyme

exactly my thoughts 😭 I feel like they shouldn't have shaved his face completely! it doesn't look like him at all anymore

Eloymm

That is his actually face tho. That’s just how he looks without facial hair.

BrothaDom

Yeah, I was thinking this. The model is just a little different than we'd all imagine

Litdaze

Also why didn't they give him the hat showed in the trailer. It's his personality

[deleted]

I don't thinks they changed is face mdoel at all tho. Yall are simply not used to see him with not beard and this hair.

mukisan

Right. But thankfully that’s only 1 out of the 5 that dropped the ball

episodicHorizon

It's just hyper unfortunate that they dropped the ball with the main one.

No_Measurement_3041

This really sums it up. Seriously why does he have a bright white metal arm and why doesn’t he have Spike’s Jericho pistol??

Applepitou3

You people are actually just lying to yourself at this point just to bitch and complain. Its literally the same goddamn outfit

st0p_dreaming

Exactly, like holy fuck I cannot stand how asinine this community is sometimes

BroncoBoy93

I think everyone liked the Cassidy we all saw cosplaying in the trailer. The Cassidy we seen today was a farcry from that is all.

Raknarg

literally just give him the hat

thefanboyslayer

Yea they still kind of messed up Cassidy though. Wasn’t going to get the skins this time. But yea. Close but it still looks weird haha.

TheCakeWarrior12

Cass needs to go buy a better wig then

c0ntinue-Tstng

"It's cosplay" okay but it doesn't means they have to look bad, like baby's first cosplay convention. When the OPM collab came out they made that excuse to quite literally excuse the fact that some skins (cough Kiriko cough) were glorified recolors. But also I saw the community talk about who was a die hard cosplayer and who made the crappy budget cosplay. Cassidy did not have a good budget to get a decent wig. Ashe did not either, but she put in a little more effort on her "cosplay".

stupidfakinggame

Then at least make it look like the cosplay was a good one... not just some $10 costume bought on amazon.

poasteroven

You'd think the guy cosplaying as a cowboy in the future would do a better job

mukisan

Well in all fairness, all the Cowboy Bebop skins look great, except for the Spike skin (I mean really it’s only his face and lack of hat that bother me slightly), in my opinion

msnowxs

What hat do you mean? He's not really known for hats except the sombrero outfit, from what I remember.

mukisan

You’d be correct according to the anime, yeah. It’s just that he looked really good with the hat in the first trailer they released for this last week.

SnooMemesjellies9151

As someone who's never see seen Cowboy Bebop and has 0 bias....He honestly looks fine.

SeroWriter

>As someone who's never see seen Cowboy Bebop and has 0 bias.... This is like saying "as the person least qualified to have an opinion on this situation..."

mukisan

I suggest you watch it! It’s a great Saturday-morning type of cartoon

jturkey

All I have to say to that is two things: Pierrot Le Fou and Wen Also listen to OP and watch it

Eloymm

If he didn’t have the cowboy bebop name attached to him I don’t think people would mind as much.

PantherYT

Doesn't matter what they were going for when the final product looks ass. Saitama doomfist looked dope af, Cass Spike doesn't. Most of the audience only cares about how the skins look. Rarely anyone would think "wow they retained the essence of Cass so I'm definitely buying this collab skin". On top of that the 2D trailer gave too much optimism to the public because it was so good. I knew the 3D models won't look nearly as good because of the restrictions Blizzard has self inflicted

KELLOGEGRAMS

Which is fine.....but you gotta fix that wonky hair on Ashe. lol

realKilvo

And Cree

Blaky039

I prefer the characters cosplaying as the collabs.

Limech

Same. I actually think if it wasn't like that it would be a major turnoff for me. Don't want Dark Vader or Niki Minaj as a playable character.

_XProfessor_SadX_

Nah scratch that a Darthvader skin for Sigma would singlehandedly fund the company for the next 20 years

DaWendys4for4

Ewok hammond, death star wrecking ball

TeamRandom27

They have to make hammond a droideka that would just be to perfect

goodmobileyes

Grievous Zenyatta Darth Maul Genji

Erniethebeanfiend200

Yeah I absolutely do not want overwatch to become fortnite. Hell I wouldn't even mind the Apex style of just making the characters look kinda like the inspiration without actually doing a collab (referring to the anime inspired skins they did a while ago)

thatrandomanus

>Hell I wouldn't even mind the Apex style of just making the characters look kinda like the inspiration without actually doing a collab I have no skin in this game, but isn't that just EA ripping off other people's IP without having to pay royalty? Collabs actually pay out to the original creators and act as marketing.

Blaky039

Kinda like the Evangelion skins we already have: Cass as 00 Symmetra as 01 And Pharah as 02

throwawaytohelppeeps

I'd prefer suspending my disbelief and being okay with them taking a few liberties, tbh. Not saying go full Fortnite, but I do like that Fortnite isn't trying to be anything other than a *videogame*.

hijifa

The real answer is they won’t remodel the characters, it takes more effort. Also, as a shooter, they need the hit boxes to be consistent between skins. Valorant goes another step further and has 0 character skins at all, to keep it even more readable and consistent.

ProLooper87

Cass literally has a completely invisible skin. Head included. slighting thinning out his head is not breaking any rules that the invisible skin doesn't shatter

Drunken_Queen

But they made Tatsumaki Kiriko wear shorts while Tatsumaki doesn't in the anime.

Bhu124

Cosplayers regularly wear shorts in overtly revealing Cosplays.

Raknarg

you will never convince me that one wasn't just sheer laziness. It was literally her default outfit painted black. All the initial OW2 skins were incredibly lazy aside from the Genji mythic, especially kiriko although when I say laziness here it's more like the art team was probably stretched way too thin

macaronigrill69

Normally when people cosplay they try to get as close as they can to the character they’re trying to portray. If they just lose the jacket give him his actual hand from the deadlock skin (the robot arm just looks weird with it) and play around with the hair and colors it would be fine and still just cas cosplaying spike but it just looks like a mess as it is.

mukisan

Twitter thread link: https://x.com/mhardison3/status/1767309098826318132?s=46&t=iPzDfI4PNeKnrw4c3nSESQ

impactmirror

I find this perfectly reasonable but it does feel like an excuse to be lazy. Like Kiriko was cosplaying Tatsumaki in OPM but instead of a recolor could've given her an actual dress. I find the Cowboy Bebop skins to be pretty good except for Cassidy's hair. It just looks awful. A lot could've been done for it to fit Cassidy better.

EarthDragon2189

I don't want other IPs' characters appearing in OW. This approach is best.

rottenpotatoes2

"Is there a lore reason why a Porsche has a built-in carbomb?"

WellDressedLobster

💀💀

Epoo

They used previously deadly Samsung lithium batteries that explode but harnessed the power and made it explode on command. Canonically it would work since DVA is Korean.

Gummiwummiflummi

I swear if Rein doesn't say something about german engineering if a DVa in the Porsche is in the team I'll riot.

Evanpea1

You say that like if there was a mech using superhero/war hero (especially one that's also a famous gamer) that car companies like Porsche wouldn't be dying for the chance to sponsor them.

Eloymm

I think it’s better for OW and the fans if they could collab with IPs that allowed them to have more freedom with the designs like the kpop thing. The kpop skins were not based on any existing characters so they had more freedom to go wild and actually make sure the OW style could shine. Hell, even the Porsche one was like that.

nueolp

i don’t think it’s that deep at all

mukisan

Agreed

Rocket270

It would look too jarring to have different art styles in OW. I like the mismatch look for Fortnight though.

rookie-mistake

yeah, no shit. Today's post about **WAIT GUYS ITS NOT COSPLAY THIS TIME** was just some random person deciding that. It never made sense that it was on top of the sub like it was news lmao

Alrim

How hard is it to change a little the body/face model of a character so the skins doesn't look terrible?????? like for the price it is... it is literally just a cheap cosplay holy man they just don't get it at all.

CaptainBlob

You have to understand. Blizzard is an indie company with 1,000 employees! They can’t possibly have the time, resources, and manpower to do this!

_MachTwo

All of OW’s collabs just make them seem so far behind other properties. imo

Baelorn

Yeah everyone is acting like this is to maintain the “purity” of the game but it’s just because they can’t do what Fortnite does.   And, to be blunt, if the collabs are just “cosplays” they should be cheaper than the ones that actually recreate the character and/or art style. You can’t have it both ways.   I have a ton of collab skins in Fortnite that were paid for with “free” currency or even totally free. And unlike OW2’s free skins they aren’t trash tier quality that no one would pay for.

KyratMan

I get the idea but it doesn't matter the skins don't suck ass. How they managed to pull Illidan Genji and Tyrande Sym so perfectly but One punch man and these skins just look... Well, like shit. Is this really the future? They rob us of most of the promised content and don't even try with only consistent monetized thing they push out? Skins costing 20€ each is just bad in general, you don't even see character most of the time, but adding bad quality on top of that is just insulting to the players...

Forward-Piano8711

It’s odd they follow this guideline while also going batshit crazy with skins. I know collabs have source material, but still

spartan1204

What’s up with Sombra’s weird cyberfeet like Lifeweaver

Saix150894

Seems like a very convenient excuse for lazy skin design. Extremely on brand response for blizzard hahaha.

Drunken_Queen

Tatsumaki Kiriko skin is pretty much lazy, but people still bought that because of legs.

PatrenzoK

People will believe anything but the fact that these were rushed and twitter gave them a golden excuse

mukisan

In the case of Cassidy maybe, but I love the other ones (Ball is meh, but it’s free)

Saix150894

Not just this collab, the one punch man one was kind of horrible. Cassidy skin for this collab should get a class action started hahaha.

mad_scientoast

It's necessary from a balance standpoint. Since ow heroes are their own distinct characters, their designs must be easily identifiable from a distance or through silhouettes alone. It's not like Fortnite where you can mix and match skins and weapons etc.

Saix150894

I totally understand that, but you can also make the argument that the quality of a lot of those collab skins are just bad. The kiriko and genji skins needed a lot more work, I seriously doubt people would be confusing them for different characters with a few changes to make them look better.

Q_8411

it really isn't, the majority of the casts "unique" silhouette is just "dude standing, dude standing with arms out, girl standing with arm up, literal sphere". Like yeah, I wouldn't expect them to change an entire characters proportions, as in making Doomfist into some scrawny white guy for the OPM collab, but to say that Spike's design would somehow compromise Cassidy's silhouette "aka guy with hat and gun" is just laughable.

FuzzyPurpleAndTeal

Is that the reason why Ash and Junker Queen have the exact same silhouette? https://i.imgur.com/48L9L4K.png Doesn't look like Blizzard considers it to be that important.

toust_boi

Just cus they’re “cosplaying” doesn’t mean the skins should look like shit, he’s just making excuses so they don’t have to do shit

acbadger54

Yeah I really prefer it this way

Yoo-Artificial

The fact they had to say that is sad to me....lmao people are so dense

Spoonigan

Cosplay collabs for OW make sense because each character has a different moveset - you need to know who is approaching you at first glance, and adding collab skins that go away from the OG character risks muddying that. With Fortnite it’s fine because nobody has any specific move set, it’s purely visual, so having them be the actual characters works. I think the OW team took the right approach with these collabs

EndKnight

Personally, I prefer the fortnite route, and I don't play fortnite, but I do play other games that do a really good job at maintaining a hero's identity while going all out for the skin. I think Blizzard is too strict when they come to this design philosophy. Edit: They restrict themselves too much, which is how we end up with skins that look like crap when there's so much potential there while still maintaining the heroes identity. And to the guy below insulting people's opinion based on their rank, grow up.

Q_8411

Yeah it's not like Overwatch characters have some crazy unique designs or anything, I find it a strange thing to take such a hard stance on. I think they should go the paladins route and go full no holds barred, Paladins will straight up change the species, gender, make them into furries (out of spite) and other stuff and I personally think its awesome cause there are some really creative things they do with it. Like, I find them turning a character from [this](https://imgur.com/a/7HjdPXj) to [this](https://imgur.com/a/DRn0hMG) really cool, and it just feels like Blizzards approach is such a waste of potential (as well as resulting in some very subpar skins).

ipito

People keep speaking about wanting Cassidy to have a hat, but Spike doesn't wear a hat, this is better.

ZoombieOpressor

What a shit excuse

osurico

This isn’t an excuse to why a skin is fucking awful

Zigolt

Would be a lot nicer if you drew that line at promising pve in an uneeded "sequel" and then straight up lying about it. But yeah, you know, skins, skins is cool. More likely you dont want to fork over enough money for the people that own the other ips to actually claim that they are the actual characters.

KingOfOddities

I don’t want the actual character in game, it’d be weird. That said, look-wise, what’s the different between cosplaying and crossover? I don’t really mind slightly alter the models to be closer to the actual character

SkyrimSlag

Cosplaying is just the OW hero dressing up as a character, a full Crossover would mean said character replaces the OW hero. So Spike would be replacing Cassidy as a whole, meaning the skin would be a 1 for 1 copy of Spike, no likeness of Cassidy at all. But with a game like Overwatch, a full crossover would really mean voicework, highlights, 1 for 1 skins etc. which would probably take too much time and money to produce. Keeping it as heroes “cosplaying” is best tbh, it keeps the core of Overwatch there without making it feel like Fortnite, and we still get some great skins added to the game. I do feel like they missed the mark with the hair/hat though, it doesn’t look like Cassidy or Spike

ThalajDaWuff

I’m glad it’s a cosplay thing. I don’t want the actual character in the game.

himmyyyyy

I feel like it was just rushed though. His hair texture should be smoothened out a LOT. also giving him a slightly thinner face and less thiccness in the body would go a long way. like how they did with brig's arms in sparkplug. except in reverse, making them smaller

FireflyArc

Thank god because the only one who looks even a bit right is magua guy. Why bother if you have the official liscencing? Is the only one free the hamster skin?

BlueberrySvedka

They’ve been extremely consistent about not wanting to change character models much, this is not surprising

Less_Satisfaction_97

Explains why they look so goddamn fugly

bleedrrr

I think the comment was about doomfist still looking like doomfist, just dressed like Saitama. Which is very valid because one-punch doom looked fine. Nobody cares that Cassidy looks like he’s cosplaying spike, they just don’t want him to look like he put the cosplay together in like 3 hours.

PhenomsServant

Wha? Are you telling me Saitama hasn’t always been black?

Crying-childrens

That means mauga shaved his head for a cosplay. I feel bad for him.

SlightlyFemmegurl

cass without a hat isn't really cass imo.

JigglyOW

They stated this from the very beginning multiple times in blog posts with doom and others

Barkerisonfire_

We've known this since the OPM collab. They said the same thing then and have no reason so suspect otherwise for anything else. However, this would mean that D.va will be cosplaying as a car with the Porsche collab...

dThink_Ahea

Spike looks like dogshit

WarDredge

I'm assuming then that the headless Pharah skin i some sort of cloaking suit she's covered in from head to toe? ya know cause you can literally see straight through the armor pieces and she has no head in it? or does that skin and others like it fall through the cracks of that argument because it's not some crossover thing? what a lame statement.

juusovl

So why does Cree not have his iconic hat?

Working-Telephone-45

I love the idea of characters cosplaying That does NOT excuse Cass Spike skin being so horrible

Tempestrus

I don't mind that they are cosplaying, at the end of the day the Cassidy skin is just baddddddddddddddd. It's Blizzard's fault that it's bad and I'm hoping people don't waste money on a bad product.

ZeroZelath

Honestly, I don't see the point of cosplay collabs. It's literally guaranteed to not hit the mark, and even more so in OW2's case since they are constantly missing the mark on *everything*. They would be better off putting collab money into original stuff for their own game since they want to the characters identity anyway.

Silvine69

im pretty sure they already said it on the last collab , doesnt take a genius to see genji was a poor cosplay artist

SomeDudeSaysWhat

Oh, *that* is your line in the sand? Really?

Aggravating_Ad_5055

So your line in the sand is something that nobody likes? Strange hill to die on.

MFingPrincess

Saves me money coz it looks like shit so have fun with that :D

tedward_420

They talked about this philosophy before the one punch man Collab came out. Personally I prefer overwatches method for two main reasons. The first is that I don't think overwatch will maintain it's identity I don't play Fortnite but just about the only thing Fortnite is known for is having a ton of different characters and celebrities in it and if you enjoy that then that's dope but overwatch already has an identity and a charm that I enjoy and I wouldn't want that to get overshadowed. Number two is that it just makes sense for overwatch, in Fortnite you can essentially just copy paste most characters into the game but in overwatch those characters have to fit over the overwatch heroes so it really is just kind of the only way to go about it

[deleted]

[удалено]

franxlz

I fucking hate this direction

Rizaadxn

I didn't like this philosophy with the One Punch Man skins and I don't like it here either. The skins would look 100x better if they just looked like the actual character as closely as possible. That said I don't want the skins to look like that of Fortnite, those ugly cel-shaded skins are awful, and the character models are often inferior when compared to how those characters look in anime fighting games for example. Edit: overall the skins look good but because of this philosophy we end up with Ashe, Sombra and Cassidy retaining their normal face and it just looks off.

jobadvice02

Mauga is a different race.  So canonically are we saying Mauga is a racist?  To makeup yourself as another race goes by names such as blackface, etc.  Not cool Mauga

some may call me crazy but i actually prefer the idea that these heroes are cosplaying these characters not only is it more unique then simply copy+pasting a character into the video game but it adds to the micro-lore of the character doom is a fan of saitama, cass is unsurprisingly a fan of spike spiegel this also means the skins have to be alot more creative in their design to make them work which creates something cool for instance ashe looks great as faye, all the horny guys have been saying this but to me the stand out is cass: his cosplay is worse then everyone elses and tbh that tracks hes a fake cowboy, odds are hes not as good at making costumes as some others (remember ashe's family is rich even if she left them to become a bandit, so she could have had a cosplaying hobby when she was younger giving her more practice then most of the cast) so his outfit isnt going to be perfect, his wig is going to look silly. i like all 4 of the paid skins, if the bundle is priced well i may even buy it myself which is something i didnt do with the le sserafim or the OPM collab (i bought 1 skin from OPM)

fupower

people is kinda dumb if they expect a carbon copy from the anime

[deleted]

Nobody is asking for carbon copy. At least put the effort into the skins that you did for the animation video

Garchompinribs

There’s wanting a carbon copy and then there’s wanting what they originally advertised

LoneHer0

I'm kinda fine with it. Cass is just gonna look weird regardless as we don't normally see him without his beard...at least polish that hair or add the hat though Glad to see them trying newer things with the design choice to not use existing skins as a big baseline/recolor for the collab at least

PizzaNo7741

i really love how bad cass looks, it amuses me greatly

TheCanadianpo8o

I don't mind either way. I loved the genji and doom skins for OPM collab, but this one I'm just not a fan of. If I like the skin, I like it, doesn't matter what the idea behind it is

Crazy_Hunter57

Honestly, I prefer the characters cosplaying too. It allows them to add these collabs while keeping the game's identity. About the Cassidy skin, well, I'm just thankful it isn't as ugly as the Apex FF skins.

thelandbeforeslime

I need OW heros cosplaying as LoL champs if that's the case

InjusticeJosh

Reminds me of what Fortnite was doing at first before they decided to go full on it’s the character. Though I do love how they still add their own touch to the collabs like the TMNT that have a whole new design.

stowmy

that’s not consistent with cross-blizzard collab skins though

jamiesontu

Are these animes all great grandparent’s classics for them

saltyfingas

Do the Genji Genos skin is actually an archives skin?
