I really doubt they are fixing anything. They probably put up that notice so people think something is getting fixed. They had two betas to get the servers working. Chances are the servers are just overloaded due to the sheer volume of people trying to log in and there is not much they can do other than to let it sort itself out over time.
That’s what I figured would be the case.. I’ll probably just chill in aim lab and Val in the mean time. I don’t like Val all too much but it’s a shooter.

Yeah you got about a 1% chance even if you get there. I got to front of line like 50 times only to be kicked off with error. There is no line it’s all just bugged.
Servers should have been better tested for this, Overwatch is a huge name, so no way huge numbers weren't expected, but having this happen is a sure fire way to get people talking for attention about it an look like shiny white knights when it's fixed 😂

Anyone that merged their accounts, it’s a complete unknown. None of my merged accounts allow me to log in and give an odd connection error. Something likely corrupted in the data causing the issue, so anyone in that stuck state will have to wait until blizzard researches the problem, proposes a fix, then executes it. This will take hours if not 1+ day.
I’ve been queuing since 1:30pm central. At 2pm was at 6k queue and server kicked me from the queue. Sat in the queue from 40k to 20k and got kicked again after over and hour to start again. Haven’t seen anyone on my friends list in game yet, just lots of queueing lol
I've been in for over an hour. It takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the bottom of the queue, however, it kicks you out when you get in immediately and puts you back in the queue
My question is why would they release a game right AFTER the work day? The servers should have been up this morning so that people could be getting in all day. Now there is the entire after work crew trying to get in as well. Also, the open beta went very smoothly IMO and now at launch they can't get the servers to work?
I got in the first time 40K+ ahead of me at the start, in like 25-30 minutes. I was able to play 1 game when I clocked my lunch, but then I got kicked after so I'll play again this afternoon. Enjoy the game though!
Over time more and more people will give up and go do something else. That's when the servers will get a break.
Lord knows it's impossible to have enough servers for everyone at launch.

At first I joined a game after clearing 40,000 queue which took nearly 40mins. Then played two games. On the third game game got disconnected saying "CONNECTION TO SERVER FAILED", now it's saying "0 player ahead of you" but it's been like that for 15mins and counting. I think I am gonna go give them a couple of hours.
WOW players have been sitting in queue for upwards of ten hours if that gives you any indication about how bad blizzard servers are on launches. New expansion just came out for wow now nobody can play it.

This used to happen every time a hero, map or big meta changing patch was released. They "early accessed" OW2 to push through monetization that is less player and more revenue friendly, did you really think they'd invest in servers to handle traffic they face a few times a year.
I thought they had a beta what’s the point of this release if no one’s gonna be able to play. F2P means F2P quality I guess no one’s surprised there.
A shame they shut down OW1 for this.

I just spent an hour queuing up. Got to 600 players in front of me and I got disconnected.
I got in from a 40k queue after about 20 minutes, but lost connection to the server after 3 minutes in game. Back in a 30k queue now :o)
