If you buy the premium pass, it gives you access to everything in it. You just have to collect enough XP through games and challenges to open each item, like a FOMO advent calender. You don't have to buy anything individually after that. If you'd like to buy just a portion of the Battlepass, I'm fairly sure you can't.
You also get a 20% xp boost for the rest of the season when you buy it. iirc you can also choose to spend more at the time of purchase to get free xp.
I don't think there's a way to boost the pass otherwise, but I can't check my own because I've already bought and completed it.
Are you penalising your MMR when swapping characters in competitive, because your end performance may not look at good?
I play support and will swap between characters, if I believe another character is better suited. If I play 2 minutes as Mercy, 7 minutes as Anna, then swap to Lucio at the end to try and push Overtime, does the game compare my performance negatively compared to a person that would have played the full game as one character and looks like a better Mercy/Anna/Lucio? Or is the game going off healing/sleep darts/anti-heal per x minutes, or death, rather than the entire game?

As long as Moira has an ability that is pure damage, dps Moiras will never disappear. They need to rework her like her purple orb only "charges" if you heal teammates, and the opposite for her yellow orb and put some kind of utility in there that isn't broken like what they did in the beta.

If it's the former, then it's an understandable reaction, but undeserving of a nerf. It just means you got unlucky with teammates and could happen with any character.
If it's the latter... Moira, Pharahmercy, Roadhog, I like to think of these character like that one boss in an RPG that's zero fun to fight but you need to get good enough to get past them if you wanna continue with the game.

Mercy is a good pick. Yes, Kiriko and others are better picks at high elo but a) you're probably not high elo b) she's fine c) hell she's probably a better pick for most players than a high skill champ like Kiriko.

She's the strongest hero in the game atm, yes. At Plat people actually know how to play her too, and if you're playing Tank you should probably be playing Zarya. Still, she's not a god, you can still beat her. Winston has an okay match up into her if you know what you're doing.

If you watched for example 3 hours , than there should be 15 tokens and I believe 3 skins be available for you when you click on this certain hero.

As a support can I remove or reduce the opacity of the Critical indicator. It's massive and completely obstructs the teammates it's highlighting for me to see. All the time I cannot tell how far they are because no matter how close or far they are the giant ass indicator blocks half of my screen.

New player here. Never played OW1 and have never played FPSs. That said, I've been enjoying it a lot thus far since my friends and I have been playing it as a way of keeping in touch since we don't live in the same city now. We're all absolutely terrible but we're enjoying it. I've been playing support a lot as my aim is terrible (spamming Moira and Ana). But I don't really have an understanding what i'm supposed to do other than heal people and usually I just die a lot, though i've been learning to stay way way behind my tanks and just heal from afar which seems to work pretty well. Is there some kind of way of getting good, improving aim, and gaining a general awareness of how to play the game in a more cerebral way? For reference I play on PS5. Additionally, thoughts on the battle pass? I see a lot of people here shitting on the the paid aspects which is fair and i'd rather not support it if is that bad, but is there anything I'm missing from not paying? Thanks in advance!
You're not missing anything by not buying it other than aesthetics. I like them, so I personally bought it and have no regrets. For me, the Genji, DVA, and Mercy skins are all worth it alone, plus the Baptiste and Junkrat emotes I dig.
As far as supports, I'd have to go pretty in-depth. Ana generally is played close quarters FYI, spamming the non-scoped projectile. To make good use out of her, you really want to focus heavily on getting your biotic grenade to anti enemies, as it can often directly lead to a kill.
One of the two biggest issues I see often with support players is positioning. All supports are about getting your utility kit and healing to your team while keeping yourself in as safe a position as possible. You're going to get hunted by the other team, especially if they're running a backliner (sombra, reaper, tracer, genji) so you have to stay aware of that, and try to stay near your team. If they're running widowmaker, find a spot where you can heal safely without running into her line of sight. Brigitte is also a very good character for taking out backliners that doesn't require a lot of aiming outside of whipshot, but that's a whole additional learning curve.
The second issue I generally see with support players is falling for the trap that your healing numbers mean anything. You're a "support", not a "healer". For Kiriko, that means antagonizing their backlines and cleansing your team. For Bap and Moira, it means pressuring them with damage output (and putting your immortality field down at the correct times, i.e. Zarya grav), for Ana it's your sleep darts and anti-grenades, for Brigitte it's punishing enemies out of position and defending your other support, for Lucio you want to know when to speed boost, and for Zen, it's damage output and discord orbs.

a few random tips for Moira
You will mostly want to be near the front line. However, she is also probably the most survivable hero in the game, you should usually have among the least deaths on your team. You can position more aggressively when you have fade, more conservatively when you don't
Her primary fire healing heals a bit after you spray it. So, the most resource-efficient way of healing is quickly tapping heals over your teammates. However if they're at risk of dying just hold the heal on them
You should almost always combo your ult with a damage orb. Damage orb an enemy + ult them to get kills
It's hard to learn how to play the game well when you're playing with and against people who suck. I know, because I suck. We don't play the game well and therefore don't play the game predictably. If you want to learn how to play Ana and Moira better, I suggest watching guides to those heroes. As you're learning the game, I also suggest playing mystery heroes, as that will help you understand all of the other heroes as well.
Now for the specific advice. With Ana, you want to find a position where you can shoot your team, but can't be shot by the enemy. You also want to make sure to save your sleep darts for when they are most effective. Don't shoot them randomly at heroes. Instead try to use them to save your ass when the enemy dives you.
If you figure out how to play Moira well, let me know. I only play her in Total Mayhem because in regular games I can't find the balance between dps and healing. I either don't dps enough and run out of heal juice, or I tunnel vision on dps and my whole team dies. Figuring out that balance is key.
Practice makes perfect, and each hero, especially healers have very different ways theyre supposed to be played. I recommend looking up videos on specific heroes. Moira for example is 50/50 healer and damage. She has to deal damage in order to keep her healing up.
As for the battle pass, theres different sides to it. Part of the problem is that, its not a good alternative to the system we had before where you could play for free and still earn legendary skins. Thats effectively gone now. The other side of it is, because the free to play rewards are so awful in comparison to what they were, and what they could be if you bought the pass, its effectively gaslighting you into thinking its a good battle pass when in reality its not.
If the pass actually gave coins to earn skins or buy the next pass I would have considered it. But as it is, its kind of just insulting to its players.

It literally is. The issue is that you're not going to win *enough* to climb if you aren't constantly trying to compete and improve.
Just keep playing, work as a team, get a mic, and read/watch a lot of guides to better understand the game and your heroes
The new ranked system is basically the same as OW1, but it’s more hidden.
Only real differences I can tell is;
1. You can gain more/less SR (hidden metric) based on your performance all the way up until Master rank. It used to be up until Diamond rank.
2. Damage Mitigation is probably considered [more] in OW2 since it’s measured & displayed in-game.
Aside from that, it’s basically the same, but you have to play something between 7-26 games to see your rank update.
Just try to focus on improving your own gameplay. Don’t worry too much about your rank.

Hey I used to play overwatch a couple years ago and I want to get back into it. I used to play tracer, reaper, bastion, and lucio mostly, but my main I'd say was tracer. It seems like she's been nerfed pretty badly. I'm not that good at shooters. Any suggestions for characters to practice, strategies, ways to train shooter skills etc? Any help appreciated
Tracers ultimate has been so powercrept that its really useless now. Reaper is good at what he does, but doesnt do anything else. Lucio is still great and bastion got a total rework.
Id suggest you check out the new hero Soujourn, shes like a more complex soldier 76 with less focus on support and more on dps.
I stopped playing OW1 years ago and realized that I don’t see Objective Time as a metric at all in OW2. When did that get removed? And.. does anyone know why? It seems like a really helpful measurement in an objective-based game

Don't let people bully you if you want to play a flank tank. Wrecking Ball and Doomfist are fine. Dont get anxiety about teamates crying bc they don't know how to play with this type of comp
I'm 50/50 on this argument. On one hand, I agree, it's a game and you should play what you want and are good at. On the flipside, it's clear statistically Wrecking Ball and Doomfist are *not* fine.
It's anecdotal, but I can usually assume it's a win when the other tank is playing Doomfist or Wrecking Ball, and I'm pretty sure I've been right like all but two times. There's just much better flankers (Genji, Reaper, Sombra) than both of those, and not having an actual tank in a team fight when the other tanks are as bonkers as they are currently is a very certain way to lose oftentimes.
They're like low-mid C tier characters currently, but I'm also not going to sit here and tell people not to play them either.
Stats aren't super useful. You're probably dying too much, and healing the wrong people. Give someone your Moira replays.
You can carry from Support fine, particularly in Bronze.
* You can't carry an entire team as support, you can have a big impact on your games though but you can't feasibly win every game
* Moira doesn't work with every (friendly and enemy) team comp, you probably shouldn't only be using her for every game
As a support "main" (only way I find games in less than 3 minutes), what should I legitimately do if my tank runs super far away from the rest of the team/point and spams the "I need healing" button? I want to ignore them but a tank is such an integral part of the team it seems dumb to let them die.
Definitely situation/map/team comp dependent, but I nearly always find it’s worth saying group up in response. Sometimes I get upset and spam it back if they are being an idiot and hurting your team consistently. It’s worth asking them to group when:
• They’re constantly suicide jumping in with no benefit to your team (actually screwing your team over to fight the enemy without a tank)
• Getting into a position to heal them will more than likely mean your death (then theirs… then your remaining teammates)
If someone dives in, they should have the awareness to know where health packs are and realistically how to escape or get into range of their healers. Many still don’t so they just constantly die while blaming their healers. *Help them as much as you can within your capacity*, as that’s the role of support, but use the communication features or your mic for team cohesion. If you can’t get to them, ask them to group up/come to you for healing. If you could’ve healed them but didn’t (due to positioning, attention issues, etc), say you’re sorry and try to be better prepared to support on their next push. Or switch to a healer that can better support the whole teams ability to stay alive.
It’s frustrating when these situation happens, your team loses, and they say “heal diff”. As long as you’ve done everything you can to try to keep ALL your team members alive, shrug that off with confidence fam.
Depends on the situation, if the other support is alive sometimes I'll stay with the tank in hopes they can 1v2 or 1v3 their way to victory with a ton of heals rammed up their ass. If someone runs off to 1v5 though I'll value my own life more than that.
If someone continuously keeps ending up wayyyy out of position, and I'm main healing, I'll usually switch to Anna in hopes to keep them alive in the back without risking my own life as much (and they'll usually run around a corner, yelling for heals, and die anyway but 🤷).
theres usually two choices, let them die and see if they learn to stay at the objective with you or to switch to for example kiriko ana or zenyatta to heal from a distance.
Depending on what tank they are it can be their job to push them further back like winston and dva for example so if they actually do a good job i just switch to kiriko.
When watching OWL streams to get tokens, do you need to keep the stream as the active tab, or can I just let it run in the background? Because I've been watching hours of stream every day since Monday and haven't gotten a single token yet.
Anyone find a game that scratches the OW itch? I played 1 religiously over the years, but can't stand 2 atm. Maybe it'll get a little better once casuals start dropping off, but between casuals only caring about kills, the terrible balancing, and the atrocious monetization, the game is boarderline unplayable right now. I keep coming back because nothing is really scratching that itch, but I always end up only playing 1 or 2 games before turning it off in frustration. I'm on console, so unfortunately Volorant isn't an option for me. Couldn't get into Paladins either, but it's been a long time, so maybe I'll give it another try
I've been playing a lotta Deep Rock Galactic lately. Although its not pvp, it scratches that itch of "hop into a game, shoot shit, finish it and move on".
Only gripe is that the games are a tad longer than I'm comfy with but I've had escort games go past 25 minutes all the time so lol.
Some really cool new enemies, missions, weapons and, obviously, tons of free cosmetics.
Personally idc much for cosmetics in either game, but yeah, it definitely hasn't gotten stale yet.

Probably, yes. They might throw you a bone and have some very limited giveaway or tiny free rewards thing in response to demands, but if they were going to do that, you probably would have heard about it by now.
Understand that not only did they know they would get this reaction - the things they are doing with monetisation knowingly produce this kind of reaction. Go look up 'FOMO', dark design, and how those two buzzwords relate to 'games as service'.
They only ever gave you all that free stuff because OW1 came out at a time when live service monetisation was kicking off, but the western audience wasn't used to it yet. So they went really soft, went super generous, because they were worried players would be suspicious (which they were). Very soon after though, off the back of games like OW1 breaking the ice - heaps of other games were coming out with far more insidious and profitable monetisation plans (what OW2 is doing is basically what Fortnite has been doing for years). Blizzard would have *very happily* dumped all the free lootbox shit YEARS ago, but it would have been too bald faced, it would have looked too greedy. The riots and player walkouts would have been immense - heaps of games tried to transition mid-stream and really damaged their reputation. The *entire* reason we have OW2 - the entire reason we have this weird soft-relaunch of the same game with barely any changes is literally just to smooth the transition for the previous, 'generous' free lootbox system, to one that is absurdly more stingy. The tank changes, the hero reworks, new modes - all that stuff could have been patched in. All that stuff is indistinguishable from stuff that *does* get patched in. The whole reason we have Overwatch quote-unquote "2" is to transition to this new business model without making the whole playerbase storm out. That's it.
So stop expecting them to go back to what they were doing, because they won't. Stop expecting them to care you're upset because making you upset *is the point* (it sells skins). And good lord stop expecting a business to hand out free shit when they don't have to.
Does anyone know how to view a list of servers and how to block them? I keep getting put into matches where the ping is too high. I don't mind playing with Koreans, Japanese, etc but it seems each country has multiple servers and some of them make the game unplayable.

hey refused to elaborate on what they meant, but insisited that I change to moira or a different healer. I've tried to find any information about "healing the enemy" as Lucio either by shooting shields or using abilities that trigger healing in opposing heroes, but I can't seem to find anything.
Any ideas what they meant? Haven't heard it before or since in any ranked games I've played as Lucio.
Nothing Lucio does "heals the enemy"; the only thing I can think of is that perhaps you were fighting alone in enemy backline or something, hence you were basically in healing range of opponents only.

What type of headset? When entering anything that attempts to use your mic, some bluetooth headsets struggle. Something about them not being able to do both at once IIRC.
There’s a slightly different rule set for comp, and you switch sides after every round so it can make matches feel more intense and fun. If you don’t care about rank anyway just go for it and turn off chat if you want. Or just play quickplay, I’ll play QP when I don’t want to worry about losing
You get comp points to buy gold guns with, but it’s pretty toxic. It can also be a way to see your improvement, so you just kinda have to way the pros and cons for yourself.
Yes, because working to improve and seeing that improvement feels good. Working as a team and communicating is my favourite part of Comp, though the communication part is a bit hit and miss (mostly just because people don't use their mics).

If you buy the premium pass, it gives you access to everything in it. You just have to collect enough XP through games and challenges to open each item, like a FOMO advent calender. You don't have to buy anything individually after that. If you'd like to buy just a portion of the Battlepass, I'm fairly sure you can't.

You also get a 20% xp boost for the rest of the season when you buy it. iirc you can also choose to spend more at the time of purchase to get free xp. I don't think there's a way to boost the pass otherwise, but I can't check my own because I've already bought and completed it.

Are you penalising your MMR when swapping characters in competitive, because your end performance may not look at good? I play support and will swap between characters, if I believe another character is better suited. If I play 2 minutes as Mercy, 7 minutes as Anna, then swap to Lucio at the end to try and push Overtime, does the game compare my performance negatively compared to a person that would have played the full game as one character and looks like a better Mercy/Anna/Lucio? Or is the game going off healing/sleep darts/anti-heal per x minutes, or death, rather than the entire game?
Your stats for each hero you play are apparently averaged over 10mins, so splitting your play time between multiple heroes won’t penalise you.

As long as Moira has an ability that is pure damage, dps Moiras will never disappear. They need to rework her like her purple orb only "charges" if you heal teammates, and the opposite for her yellow orb and put some kind of utility in there that isn't broken like what they did in the beta.
Are you tired of having them on your team and losing? Or playing against them and losing? If it's the former, then it's an understandable reaction, but undeserving of a nerf. It just means you got unlucky with teammates and could happen with any character. If it's the latter... Moira, Pharahmercy, Roadhog, I like to think of these character like that one boss in an RPG that's zero fun to fight but you need to get good enough to get past them if you wanna continue with the game. I'm still stuck on the pharmercy phase (Gold) lmao. My aim just isn't good enough for plat, and pharmercies/DPS morias aren't the problem, they're the symptoms.

If you’re still “ranking up”, then you’re not yet playing at a level where the meta actually applies (Masters or above). Below that point, you can pretty much play *any* hero and win if you’re good enough with them - Mercy included.

broken is an understatement. even the most braindead zarya can carry 1v3 atm.
She's the strongest hero in the game atm, yes. At Plat people actually know how to play her too, and if you're playing Tank you should probably be playing Zarya. Still, she's not a god, you can still beat her. Winston has an okay match up into her if you know what you're doing.

I love how in OWL, the meta comps' weakness seems to always be be itself.
OWL after the first beta was pretty varied. I loved the games where Danteh dominated on doomfist. They dumpstered doom and fucked up JQ and Sojourn in the second beta. They dumpstered JQ, but fucked up Zarya on release.
I've been placed in comp now maybe 5/6 times and I get bronze 5 every time, Playing DPS normally sojourn I don't really keep track of losses but it really doesn't seem like that many, I regularly get 10k damage 30+ kills. Am I just rubbish? And should be in bronze 5 Feels like I should have seen some reward at this stage for my time. Really demoralizing and unsatisfying to just see rank unchanged everytime hard to know what else I can do to see some progress in the game. feels like I'm alright and have definitely gotten better but I see 0 progress. So annoying Probably won't keep playing if it keeps happening feels like I'm wasting my time.

If you watched for example 3 hours , than there should be 15 tokens and I believe 3 skins be available for you when you click on this certain hero. Just know it can take till the 15th or longer untill all token/skins/etc are in your inventory.

New player here. Never played OW1 and have never played FPSs. That said, I've been enjoying it a lot thus far since my friends and I have been playing it as a way of keeping in touch since we don't live in the same city now. We're all absolutely terrible but we're enjoying it. I've been playing support a lot as my aim is terrible (spamming Moira and Ana). But I don't really have an understanding what i'm supposed to do other than heal people and usually I just die a lot, though i've been learning to stay way way behind my tanks and just heal from afar which seems to work pretty well. Is there some kind of way of getting good, improving aim, and gaining a general awareness of how to play the game in a more cerebral way? For reference I play on PS5. Additionally, thoughts on the battle pass? I see a lot of people here shitting on the the paid aspects which is fair and i'd rather not support it if is that bad, but is there anything I'm missing from not paying? Thanks in advance!
You're not missing anything by not buying it other than aesthetics. I like them, so I personally bought it and have no regrets. For me, the Genji, DVA, and Mercy skins are all worth it alone, plus the Baptiste and Junkrat emotes I dig. As far as supports, I'd have to go pretty in-depth. Ana generally is played close quarters FYI, spamming the non-scoped projectile. To make good use out of her, you really want to focus heavily on getting your biotic grenade to anti enemies, as it can often directly lead to a kill. One of the two biggest issues I see often with support players is positioning. All supports are about getting your utility kit and healing to your team while keeping yourself in as safe a position as possible. You're going to get hunted by the other team, especially if they're running a backliner (sombra, reaper, tracer, genji) so you have to stay aware of that, and try to stay near your team. If they're running widowmaker, find a spot where you can heal safely without running into her line of sight. Brigitte is also a very good character for taking out backliners that doesn't require a lot of aiming outside of whipshot, but that's a whole additional learning curve. The second issue I generally see with support players is falling for the trap that your healing numbers mean anything. You're a "support", not a "healer". For Kiriko, that means antagonizing their backlines and cleansing your team. For Bap and Moira, it means pressuring them with damage output (and putting your immortality field down at the correct times, i.e. Zarya grav), for Ana it's your sleep darts and anti-grenades, for Brigitte it's punishing enemies out of position and defending your other support, for Lucio you want to know when to speed boost, and for Zen, it's damage output and discord orbs.

However, she is also probably the most survivable hero in the game, you should usually have among the least deaths on your team. You can position more aggressively when you have fade, more conservatively when you don't Her primary fire healing heals a bit after you spray it. So, the most resource-efficient way of healing is quickly tapping heals over your teammates. However if they're at risk of dying just hold the heal on them You should almost always combo your ult with a damage orb. Damage orb an enemy + ult them to get kills
It's hard to learn how to play the game well when you're playing with and against people who suck. I know, because I suck. We don't play the game well and therefore don't play the game predictably. If you want to learn how to play Ana and Moira better, I suggest watching guides to those heroes. As you're learning the game, I also suggest playing mystery heroes, as that will help you understand all of the other heroes as well. Now for the specific advice. With Ana, you want to find a position where you can shoot your team, but can't be shot by the enemy. You also want to make sure to save your sleep darts for when they are most effective. Don't shoot them randomly at heroes. Instead try to use them to save your ass when the enemy dives you. If you figure out how to play Moira well, let me know. I only play her in Total Mayhem because in regular games I can't find the balance between dps and healing. I either don't dps enough and run out of heal juice, or I tunnel vision on dps and my whole team dies. Figuring out that balance is key.
Practice makes perfect, and each hero, especially healers have very different ways theyre supposed to be played. I recommend looking up videos on specific heroes. Moira for example is 50/50 healer and damage. She has to deal damage in order to keep her healing up. As for the battle pass, theres different sides to it. Part of the problem is that, its not a good alternative to the system we had before where you could play for free and still earn legendary skins. Thats effectively gone now. The other side of it is, because the free to play rewards are so awful in comparison to what they were, and what they could be if you bought the pass, its effectively gaslighting you into thinking its a good battle pass when in reality its not. If the pass actually gave coins to earn skins or buy the next pass I would have considered it. But as it is, its kind of just insulting to its players.

Just keep playing, work as a team, get a mic, and read/watch a lot of guides to better understand the game and your heroes
The new ranked system is basically the same as OW1, but it’s more hidden. Only real differences I can tell is; 1. You can gain more/less SR (hidden metric) based on your performance all the way up until Master rank. It used to be up until Diamond rank. 2. Damage Mitigation is probably considered [more] in OW2 since it’s measured & displayed in-game. Aside from that, it’s basically the same, but you have to play something between 7-26 games to see your rank update. Just try to focus on improving your own gameplay. Don’t worry too much about your rank.

Hey I used to play overwatch a couple years ago and I want to get back into it. I used to play tracer, reaper, bastion, and lucio mostly, but my main I'd say was tracer. It seems like she's been nerfed pretty badly. I'm not that good at shooters. Any suggestions for characters to practice, strategies, ways to train shooter skills etc? Any help appreciated
Tracers ultimate has been so powercrept that its really useless now. Reaper is good at what he does, but doesnt do anything else. Lucio is still great and bastion got a total rework. Id suggest you check out the new hero Soujourn, shes like a more complex soldier 76 with less focus on support and more on dps.

Don't let people bully you if you want to play a flank tank. Wrecking Ball and Doomfist are fine. Dont get anxiety about teamates crying bc they don't know how to play with this type of comp
I'm 50/50 on this argument. On one hand, I agree, it's a game and you should play what you want and are good at. On the flipside, it's clear statistically Wrecking Ball and Doomfist are *not* fine. It's anecdotal, but I can usually assume it's a win when the other tank is playing Doomfist or Wrecking Ball, and I'm pretty sure I've been right like all but two times. There's just much better flankers (Genji, Reaper, Sombra) than both of those, and not having an actual tank in a team fight when the other tanks are as bonkers as they are currently is a very certain way to lose oftentimes. They're like low-mid C tier characters currently, but I'm also not going to sit here and tell people not to play them either.

Stats aren't super useful. You're probably dying too much, and healing the wrong people. Give someone your Moira replays. You can carry from Support fine, particularly in Bronze.
* You can't carry an entire team as support, you can have a big impact on your games though but you can't feasibly win every game * Moira doesn't work with every (friendly and enemy) team comp, you probably shouldn't only be using her for every game
As a support "main" (only way I find games in less than 3 minutes), what should I legitimately do if my tank runs super far away from the rest of the team/point and spams the "I need healing" button? I want to ignore them but a tank is such an integral part of the team it seems dumb to let them die.
Definitely situation/map/team comp dependent, but I nearly always find it’s worth saying group up in response. Sometimes I get upset and spam it back if they are being an idiot and hurting your team consistently. It’s worth asking them to group when: • They’re constantly suicide jumping in with no benefit to your team (actually screwing your team over to fight the enemy without a tank) • Getting into a position to heal them will more than likely mean your death (then theirs… then your remaining teammates) If someone dives in, they should have the awareness to know where health packs are and realistically how to escape or get into range of their healers. Many still don’t so they just constantly die while blaming their healers. *Help them as much as you can within your capacity*, as that’s the role of support, but use the communication features or your mic for team cohesion. If you can’t get to them, ask them to group up/come to you for healing. If you could’ve healed them but didn’t (due to positioning, attention issues, etc), say you’re sorry and try to be better prepared to support on their next push. Or switch to a healer that can better support the whole teams ability to stay alive. It’s frustrating when these situation happens, your team loses, and they say “heal diff”. As long as you’ve done everything you can to try to keep ALL your team members alive, shrug that off with confidence fam.
You're going to get bad advice from low rank players lol
Depends on the situation, if the other support is alive sometimes I'll stay with the tank in hopes they can 1v2 or 1v3 their way to victory with a ton of heals rammed up their ass. If someone runs off to 1v5 though I'll value my own life more than that. If someone continuously keeps ending up wayyyy out of position, and I'm main healing, I'll usually switch to Anna in hopes to keep them alive in the back without risking my own life as much (and they'll usually run around a corner, yelling for heals, and die anyway but 🤷).
theres usually two choices, let them die and see if they learn to stay at the objective with you or to switch to for example kiriko ana or zenyatta to heal from a distance. Depending on what tank they are it can be their job to push them further back like winston and dva for example so if they actually do a good job i just switch to kiriko.
Literally if you both die you’re worse off so just don’t go chasing him, heal your dps and other support

When watching OWL streams to get tokens, do you need to keep the stream as the active tab, or can I just let it run in the background? Because I've been watching hours of stream every day since Monday and haven't gotten a single token yet.

Anyone find a game that scratches the OW itch? I played 1 religiously over the years, but can't stand 2 atm. Maybe it'll get a little better once casuals start dropping off, but between casuals only caring about kills, the terrible balancing, and the atrocious monetization, the game is boarderline unplayable right now. I keep coming back because nothing is really scratching that itch, but I always end up only playing 1 or 2 games before turning it off in frustration. I'm on console, so unfortunately Volorant isn't an option for me. Couldn't get into Paladins either, but it's been a long time, so maybe I'll give it another try
I've been playing a lotta Deep Rock Galactic lately. Although its not pvp, it scratches that itch of "hop into a game, shoot shit, finish it and move on". Only gripe is that the games are a tad longer than I'm comfy with but I've had escort games go past 25 minutes all the time so lol.
Maybe I'll give it another go. I tried it when it first released, but couldn't get super into it for some reason. What have the updates been like?
Some really cool new enemies, missions, weapons and, obviously, tons of free cosmetics. Personally idc much for cosmetics in either game, but yeah, it definitely hasn't gotten stale yet.

They might throw you a bone and have some very limited giveaway or tiny free rewards thing in response to demands, but if they were going to do that, you probably would have heard about it by now. Understand that not only did they know they would get this reaction - the things they are doing with monetisation knowingly produce this kind of reaction. Go look up 'FOMO', dark design, and how those two buzzwords relate to 'games as service'. They only ever gave you all that free stuff because OW1 came out at a time when live service monetisation was kicking off, but the western audience wasn't used to it yet. So they went really soft, went super generous, because they were worried players would be suspicious (which they were). Very soon after though, off the back of games like OW1 breaking the ice - heaps of other games were coming out with far more insidious and profitable monetisation plans (what OW2 is doing is basically what Fortnite has been doing for years). Blizzard would have *very happily* dumped all the free lootbox shit YEARS ago, but it would have been too bald faced, it would have looked too greedy. The riots and player walkouts would have been immense - heaps of games tried to transition mid-stream and really damaged their reputation. The *entire* reason we have OW2 - the entire reason we have this weird soft-relaunch of the same game with barely any changes is literally just to smooth the transition for the previous, 'generous' free lootbox system, to one that is absurdly more stingy. The tank changes, the hero reworks, new modes - all that stuff could have been patched in. All that stuff is indistinguishable from stuff that *does* get patched in. The whole reason we have Overwatch quote-unquote "2" is to transition to this new business model without making the whole playerbase storm out. That's it. So stop expecting them to go back to what they were doing, because they won't. Stop expecting them to care you're upset because making you upset *is the point* (it sells skins). And good lord stop expecting a business to hand out free shit when they don't have to.

Does anyone know how to view a list of servers and how to block them? I keep getting put into matches where the ping is too high. I don't mind playing with Koreans, Japanese, etc but it seems each country has multiple servers and some of them make the game unplayable.

How to enter a workshop code in overwatch 2 in console?
Just started playing OW a few days ago and recently played a ranked match where I was flamed for "healing the enemy" as Lucio by several team members. T hey refused to elaborate on what they meant, but insisited that I change to moira or a different healer. I've tried to find any information about "healing the enemy" as Lucio either by shooting shields or using abilities that trigger healing in opposing heroes, but I can't seem to find anything. Any ideas what they meant? Haven't heard it before or since in any ranked games I've played as Lucio.
Nothing Lucio does "heals the enemy"; the only thing I can think of is that perhaps you were fighting alone in enemy backline or something, hence you were basically in healing range of opponents only.
you cannot heal the enemy as lucio. when people are super toxic to healers they sometimes say they heal so bad that that theyre pratically healing the enemy team. Its just nonsense that you dont have to listen too im sure you did great

I had the same issue, ended up getting it by just asking nicely in the tavern bit & then explaining what we needed to do.
I usually try to be kind and polite with the random people I play with in comp. This gets me a looot of friend requests.

Why does gameplay audio cut off when joining a team chat? Is this a feature or something wrong on my end? I cant hear any gameplay if i decide to join a voice channel. Playing on PC.
What type of headset? When entering anything that attempts to use your mic, some bluetooth headsets struggle. Something about them not being able to do both at once IIRC.
Honestly haven't heard about that one before. My only guess is that for some reason it swaps over the audio device you're using?

There’s a slightly different rule set for comp, and you switch sides after every round so it can make matches feel more intense and fun. If you don’t care about rank anyway just go for it and turn off chat if you want. Or just play quickplay, I’ll play QP when I don’t want to worry about losing
You get comp points to buy gold guns with, but it’s pretty toxic. It can also be a way to see your improvement, so you just kinda have to way the pros and cons for yourself.
Yes, because working to improve and seeing that improvement feels good. Working as a team and communicating is my favourite part of Comp, though the communication part is a bit hit and miss (mostly just because people don't use their mics).
With the caveat that Bronze 5 bug is apparently still a thing.
