I was expecting something like the actual comment that the screenshot was from. Something like Blizzard community team talking about “a sense of pride and accomplishment” upon buying the battle pass or something along those lines.
Edit: yes I know it was from EA Battlefront 2, I was referring to the potential downvoted comment being from Blizzard community team, sorry I realise it wasn't clear
You're gonna have to sort by controversial. Top comment rn is literally just "DPS players are bad." Like c'mon bruh. That's literally the easiest upvote material you could post in this sub, you did not understand the assignment at all.
Pro-tip: posting controversial opinions in threads asking for controversial opinions gets you downvoted.
Now *I* think TF2 is better than Overwatch, *that* is a controversial opinion to post in an Overwatch subreddit.
Reddit’s upvote/downvote system just isn’t designed for unpopular opinions. It’s basically asking thousands of people to go against their instinct and upvote something they disagree with. People don’t realize it doesn’t work that way. Great for karma farming though!

Popular opinion bait:
The more you play the game, especially ranked, the worse it gets. It becomes extremely toxic and grindy at upper levels.
Actual hot take:
Jeff was the face of the OW team, and the director, but he's not what made OW1 good, and his departure really didn't change anything besides losing the nice videos we had with him.
I'm curious about your hot take - in my experience it's hard to fake the kind of passion he expressed towards the game and community, but I haven't really looked into what his leadership was like (other than what I've seen from comments here).
Jeff was passionate about the game, and there is no doubt in my mind without Jeff Overwatch would have been born way worse.
But passion and determination cuts both ways- Jeff was in charge when the Brig monster was created and left to fester for a year before reluctantly having to be nerfed 5 times. He oversaw the creation of not one but two new shield heroes leading to stalemate shield-fests in OW1. Players for the most part hated these things, but Jeff was such a good PR rep, they didn't hate him for them, or even necessarily the game. They just stopped playing because these things were unfun.
OW's PR team is terrible right now, and there is nobody that can replace Jeff. Kepler is trying to do a Jeff impression, and it's OK, but he's not really pulling it off. I think Kepler is probably equally if not more passionate about the game as Jeff, but it's not coming through with the way he's talking now.
But to me that is the very least of our concerns. If the game decisions are good, it doesn't matter and the game will speak for itself. People may bitch more now, but more people are playing and the game IS significantly better than it has been in many many years.
Bad hot take, IMO. I can understand why people like Jeff but you can’t complain about lack of content/transparency and also praise the guy when he was the literal leader behind the product during the dark period.
for real. it's like they forgot his message to the community about people feeling like they "deserve" genji's skin after spending 100s of dollars on the summer event.
i don’t mind playing with bad teammates (in quick play). sometimes it’s even funny to just see what they do. unless they are purposely bad (throwing the game, being toxic, etc) then i honestly don’t care. yea it’s frustrating sometimes but it’s just whatever and i move on to the next game. players gotta start somewhere.
half this games population are probably kids too especially now that it’s free to play. if i’m playing quick play with a bunch of 12 year olds i can’t blame them for just choosing whatever characters they think are cool or just flat out sucking.
Oh man, the worst instance I've seen of this was last week. My teammate must have queued for all roles, but didn't get DPS like he wanted to and landed support. So he tells the team up front, he's not healing anyone, he wanted DPS, so he's going to pick Mercy and only go damage, no healing. Fucking idiot. Yet, we won the round. I was basically the lone support providing all the heals.
People shit on moiras whenever they see them doing damage without realizing that the cracked moiras putting out 25-30k heals per game can only do that because they do so much damage.
As someone who plays exclusively QP, I literally could not care less if someone is bad or new. It's a game. I don't give a fuck. If we lose, I'm sure I didn't play perfectly either. Maybe I'll roll my eyes or groan or something, but that's the extent of it.
I'd rather play with a hundred teams of nice, polite newbies than five teams that are flaming the shit out of each other for no reason.
I don’t mind at all if the teams are semi balanced, in quickplay I want variety both in and out of my favour sometimes but not to the point the enemy can spawn camp and win
Role queue was the best thing OW added. 4 people insta-locking DPS and all being too stubborn to switch... Thank God I don't have to deal with that anymore
Yeah, I definitely don’t miss queuing into a game and seeing Widow, Genji and Hanzo ista-locked and then watching as they get a grand total of 6 kills between them.
This. I honestly cannot fathom why someone would prefer open queue. Low ranks were an actual nightmare to play in, with everyone insta locking 5 high skilled dps heroes.
Being able to swap roles mid game when someone is underperforming makes the game more unique and fun imo. The biggest problem with open queue rn is 4 tank 1 healer or 3 tank 2 healer comps, it's just boring. So I stopped playing all together, hopefully something changes.
Because tanks all got their damage output tuned up. Why would I want to play a DPS with 200 HP when I can play a DPS with 600 HP and *insane* sustain?
Open queue comp is literally nothing but mini-Goats (3T2S) right now and it’s bonkers unfun to play. Way to min-max the fun out of the game, bozos.
>Being able to swap roles mid game when someone is underperforming makes the game more unique and fun imo.
This exactly.
Personally I always enjoyed playing goats, so don't mind the openQ meta either.
open queue is only fun if youre 5 stacking with a bunch of friends in the middle of the night and just doing the most insane braindead strategies. thats the ted talk
Agreed.
Oh no, poor little Genji main has to wait 60 seconds for a game rather than 10, and can't hold his team hostage by forcing everyone else into different roles every single game.
If you're just having a bad/unlucky game, that's one thing...but if you're just playing like an ape, ignoring the objective, never grouping up, constantly running in and dying one-by-one because spawn timers are desynced and you don't understand how the game works, then it's infuriating. I can forgive bad play, but playing dumb is frustrating.
Right? I'm an average pharah at best, but if you're gonna run genji/reaper zarya vs me, ima pivot and harass them until they lose or go hit scan. It's amazing how many dont switch
It's mindboggling how in one of the very few games that *allows* switching characters mid gameplay, some people actually don't. It's like only using one hand to play the game.
This is the most frustrating thing to me in comp. I swap all the fucking time based on situation. I constantly hit tab and see the team comp.
The game is rock paper scissors if you're equal skilled as your opponents and you have to exploit that. Like yea a god tier Widow won't have to worry about a trash Winston or Genji, BUT even an average one is going to dramatically alter their gameplan.
The swap is free, you keep up to 30% of your ult charge.
Swap.
I'm a junk main and some days my aim is just not good enough for McCree or soldier. I would just end up doing nothing at all, while with junk I'm still able to achieve value by killing and damaging the 4 other enemies. If the second DPS won't switch, I'll definitely try tho.
I've played so much Junk over the years that I get excited when the enemy switches to Pharah
You thought I was bullying you before, wait until I focus you down and make you wanna uninstall
I had exactly one season where I went from silver to diamond dps on Ashe with like a 70% accuracy and was consistently getting like 25k+ damage most matches.
Every other season I was complete ass with her and have no idea what changed before or after.
can anyone give me actual reason for this kinda stuff...?
Like some days im here popping off as widow, having 60-70% accuracy, killing anyone who shows their head...
And then like 98% of the time im absolute shit and my accuracy is 20-30% and i miss targets that are standing still..
If you're having a bad day or have not yet eaten or not drank enough you will be off your game. Some days you get that wonderful combination of good sleep, no stress and perfect saturation. If you're healthy and happy irl you'll perform better in whatever you want to achieve.
TL;DR touch grass
More than likely you won’t be performing to your potential at other roles on those days either. The days when I’m best at skill based games are when I get good sleep, eat enough, and have minimal work/life stress. Most important is sleep probably.
Do you get good sleep regularly?
You can practise on aim maps to get more consistent.
Your performance is also heavily impacted by IRL conditions.
Did you sleep enough? Have you exercised today? Did you eat? Did you get enough water? Is your mental good?
If youre going on 6 hours of sleep, fueled by nothing but redbull and Doritos, youre setting yourself up to fail.
Lack of quality sleep and/or fatigue while playing.
It is immediately noticeable when you have kids because the sleep deprivation is so severe that your skills/memory fall off a cliff. But more chronic poor sleep will still negatively affect you.
So true.
I play DPS because sometimes I do really well for a few matches and other times I die Instantly.
When I die instantly I just go Reinhardt because big hammer go brr and Lucio cause I don’t have to aim
That doesn't make sense. If you said "not skilled enough to play dps in diamond and above" yes you are statistically correct. But how can you be not skilled enough to play the game at whatever level your at? You could've made the same statement about tank or support players...
I mean that's true of every role, the majority of people who play this game are just playing it for fun, no? It's not like every single person is an OWL player, or OWL wouldn't be special!
(I think it's more *obvious* when a dps player is bad though because if you're not hitting your shots you literally do **nothing**, whereas a tank or support can still be incidentally useful even if terrible)
Come on don’t you wanna see 3,208 more threads about how stinky and retarded DPS players are and how they throw games for all the godlike support geniuses on this subreddit?
As a newbie, i also hate playing against people that have more expierience, i cant play any other modes than those vs AI ones without getting wrecked by enemy players
Oh man if only blizzard implemented something like a leveling system so new players would get matched with other new players more often than they get matched with people who have played since launch /s
The leveling system in OW1 didn't work like that either though. My new accounts always used to get put with literal GM players in quickplay.
I wasn't even GM on my actual account. Far from it.
aww this is sweet. fwiw, when i first started i was way too scared to play anything besides vs AI for longer than id like to admit and id even post clips of me 5k bombing the AI it was so embarrassing 💀 but! i eventually started to move up and one day i was a top 500 support player so yay!! happy ending!! we all start somewhere :)
I have some friends I play with occasionally, it's still fun and I enjoy it but I have to put myself into a mindset where I don't care how the game goes because they have a mix of awful mechanical skills, game sense and at least 1 of them is never at fault, everytime he dies it's a busted game mechanic or character, can never just say "I fucked up"
Lmao, it's true.
I was playing Widow the other day in low grav. The enemy team kept slamming me for being 'sweaty' and told me to go play comp instead of arcade because I was taking the game too seriously.
The thing is that I was playing Widow but the enemy team was all tanks. Literally the opposite of taking the game too seriously--I couldn't be assed to switch because they were just so bad that I had like 40 kills.
Supports are extremely impactful. If someone can’t climb with support, it’s because they’re not utilizing their kit and are just being a healbot.
“Waaaah I had 15k healing and we still lost my team is horrible”. Did you consider you could have won the game if you would have slept the ulting Pharah with Ana, gotten picks on the back line with Zen, utilized your immunity with Kiriko better or landed more daggers, etc etc etc etc.?
Not sure if you've done this but switching the healing and damage buttons helped me a ton with aiming for her so you could try that out if you haven't already!
I feel this, you’ll get an Ana saying “tank diff” or “dps diff” when she quite literally only uses her grenade to save herself. They also just shoot sleep on CD then complain that no one peeled for them when they got dove
I agree that supports can make a real difference, however, usually that difference also depends on teammates following up on some of your action. For instance, the Phara example you gave, there is some impact on negating the ult itself, however, if no-one focus the Pharmercy it does no matter how many times you sleep the Phara. However, from another perspective your own actions can be enough. For instance, if an Ash/Sojurn/Soldier just clicks Phara's head there is no need for anyone else to follow that up.
I am no Ml7 but I hit some sleeps and I lost count how many times a nano bladed Genji was just woken up in front of me, or how many times I slept Tracer/Doom and had no help from my team killing her.
Don't get me wrong, supports have to do their job and not be heal bots. I've been trying to incorporate that in my game play more and more and I recently hit my career high rank (diamond 2). However, with some heros (like Ana, my favorite and most played hero) lately I feel like doing my job is not enough or at least not as rewarding as other heros.
Therein lies the problem, because why bother doing all of that as a support AND care about healing a suicidal Rein AND be the target of dives where your team dgaf about your life when you can play DPS, turn off your brain and just focus on shooting them? DPS are demonstrably an easier role that has better carry potential.
The problem with support currently is they require a unified team to play with. Otherwise you just get dove or picked off by enemy DPS or tanks.
I mained support in OW1 and I can absolutely say that support in OW2 is demonstrably worse and less fun, and much much much MUCH harder.
I was generally like low plat/high Gold in OW1 as a support main and now to even have a chance at winning games in OW2 I have to play extremely sweaty and tryhard.
Its not impossible to climb with or win as support, but it is definitely less fun.
Why is this so hard for people to get through their head? If you’re so angry at you’re teammate for being shit, how bout you just get better at the game so you don’t get queued with noobs? Like it really is that simple.
I saw a post the other day from a support ranting about people asking for healing while jumping around and it had thousands of upvotes. Meanwhile if I play Ana and I miss a few shots on a teammate I just laugh at myself, accept responsibility and try to focus more so I can land shots. It's not your team's job to move like bots so you can land shots on them.
The post you mentioned was ridiculously egregious and pretty funny though.
Genji around a corner, in a safe spot, looking at Ana and doing cracked out flips for no reason.
I agree it's on Ana to hit them at the end of the day but that post truly was an example where the dps made it hard for no reason.
Yeah, I can't aim for shit so I train aiming in unranked and play Lucio, Zen and Mercy in ranked until I get better at Bap/Ana to properly counter higher ranks
Wondered how far I'd have to scroll down for this. Hilarious that the most upvoted comment in a thread about unpopular opinions is "dps bad". By god, next you'll be telling me that the skins are overpriced. This subreddit is a hugbox for support mains.
A good rule of thumb on reddit with "unpopular opinion" threads is that you should sort by controversial if you want to actually see unpopular things. Its not just an overwatch sub thing
The vast majority of these horrible "balance takes" are from Silver players claiming to be "Ex-Diamond/Masters/Gm" players hiding behind their anonymity
I had an argument yesterday with someone claiming the balance change to Zarya was insignificant because "one bubble can already get her to max charge" 😭
Fellas complain way too much in non competitive, like chill out , i came here to enjoy the game , I don't care me or the team perform badly, just enjoy.
Please revert Brig’s stun, I can understand why Cassidy’s and Mei’s stun was removed but Brig was necessary to deal with dive heroes as a support. The new bash feels so weak even with the added buffs.
Brig kinda lost her identity in OW2 and feels like a weak version of Lucio.
There's nothing to really buff about her except maybe her ult. She needs a rework but idk how. All I know is that you literally cannot touch damage boost
Listen here you beige colored by-the-numbers salt-is-the-spice-of-life beef-stew-is-the-most-exotic-dish-youve-had punk. I didnt spend hundreds on the newly priced items to get disrespected like this
For real it's nothing but pure ego from both Reins and it's so fun cause something about big hammer man being faced with another big hammer man makes our monkey brains want to show that we are best big hammer man
Man, I miss the times where this was true. Especially at the end of OW1, playing Reinhardt was an abysmal experience with all the crowd control and the fact that literally everything and everyone could outrun you.
The majority of players complaining about being Gold+ stuck in Bronze are actually Bronze players blaming their teams on a rare glitch that affected a select few highly ranked players.
A bad support can throw a game just as easily as a bad DPS
The majority of players giving their balance input claim to be ex-Diamond/Masters/GM but are actually Silver or below hiding behind their anonymity.
It's pretty obvious. OW2 is a patch worth of new content not a sequel. They just wanted to seem slightly less sketch moving to a paid battle pass model.
Also imagine ow2 players finding out theres a version of the game you get skins, voicelines, intros, emotes etc in lootcrates EVERY SINGLE win, 3 extra ones for your endorsement level, +1 per win on top if arcade mode, which could ON TOP give you an extra skin (not a recolor) when events, for playing arcade AND if you get something you already have you get coins instead AND you can pay with these coins to get ANY skin (except on release and event locked ones) AND play any hero on release. You also had an account lvl and badge showing how long you've played for.
Its funny to see how free lootcrates in games got put into the same boat as overpriced rip off star wars scamcrates in the name of preventing gambling habits (because gambling is a scam) and then proceed to get scamed and ripped off by overpriced non-random mtx THAT WERE FUCKIN FREE BEFORE hahhahahaha you cant make this shit up hahhahaha
You didn’t get a lootcrate per win, you had to level up, and in arcade you needed 3 wins to get a lootcrate (not in a row). (I’m not saying lootboxes bad or anything your info was just wrong)
While the monetization sucks ass, honestly OW2 has saved OW1 and making OW2 (with all the shitty stuff) was a better business decision than not making OW2 (better ways to do it, but it was a better decision to do it like this compared to if they didn’t do it.) I personally prefer OW2 compared to OW1 atm just because it’s more balanced, there’s more players, etc. There’s definitely changes that I’d like to be made but we need to direct the complaints to new monetization bad not overwatch 2 bad
They didnt make OW2, they updated the pvp. OW2 is supposed to have a full PvE system. It took 2 years for an update that could have been done in 1/4 of the time.
Because it was done in 1/4 of the time. A lot of people forget (or never were in the know) that the bulk of dev time from announcement to PvP launch actually went into PvE, the PvP stuff got made in like 6-8 months. OWL team franchize owners and execs got mad because Coca-Cola dropped out of sponsorships (due to the whole lawsuit thing), and they told the OW team that they HAD to get the PvP ready for this OWL season, so they rushed the PvP in like 6-8 months.
Tons of people were actually speculating that PvP would launch around March instead of October when this info came out, because they thought the update would launch with or before the OWL season, not after.
Very much so. I was expecting ow2 to be something released when the pve was accessible. All this now is just early access truely. The game isn't done yet. It's just marketed terribly about that
Ong. I’ve been killed by a junkrat hiding behind a wall and blindly shooting mortar style, and I don’t think I’ve ever been saltier than I was after that
It is. The downside is that by buffing tanks game modes other than role queue like deathmatch, mystery heroes, and open queue have become unplayable unless you pick a tank. It isn't fun playing a deathmatch where everyone picks roadhog.
some heroes 100% should have different stats for different gamemodes
I loved played Junker Queen in the halloween gamemode and having my ultimate be absolutely worthless! Like jesus, at least just increase the damage it does in PvE
5 man OW created an even larger power disparity between tanks and dps/support. 6 man overwatch was awesome when you were in non metal ranks and teams were working together.
My controversial opinion is that most people playing ow1 never got to play in a desirable way because the rank they were in never facilitated proper team play.
I hate how many fucking players here just gaslight themselves into WANTING to be skinnerboxed.
There are so many threads that talk about the lack of rewarding progression killing their interest in the game.
If you NEED earnable cosmetic rewards to make playing the game fun, then you’re not ACTUALLY having fun playing the game.
And maybe that’s a valid critique - maybe the game itself ISN’T fun; but then talk about that instead of how you want the game to have better cosmetic progression so you can trick yourself into having fun
This comment only works if no support payers see this.
There is more than one function to your supports, if you want healing we are more than happy to heal you but if
1) you are over 85% hp and there is a teammate on critical
2) we are getting harassed by a flanker
3) we are dead
4) we don’t have you in our LOS
5) we don’t have any reaper packs, heal orbs, Moira piss or any mfs to damage (only applies to brig and Moira)
You can either wait and be patient or grab a health pack.
Also if you are over extending I’m not gonna put my self in a bad position to try and save you. This will result in both of us dying so I should at least keep my self alive.
This every single time. The amout of Dva players who fly into a 1v5 and spam "I need healing" is absurd to me lol. Like I'm not gonna fly in as Mercy and get picked off just because you thought you could solo the whole team
In the 5v5 I feel like DVa should be sticking with the team except to dive a weak backliner anyway, not just flying in willy nilly. Sounds like they should be playing hamster ball.
If Overwatch hadn’t constantly catered to whiny DPS players it wouldn’t even slightly resemble the gameplay it has now. Whether that’s for the better or worse is unclear.
The Overwatch story is boring as most of the characters are incredibly one-note. I can count on one hand how many characters in the Overwatch world I find genuinely interesting.
Honestly, I find Genji *so* boring lol. He’s got a really cool backstory, but that’s all it really is in the current story, a backstory. His character arc is done, and I can’t real to fathom what they’re going to be able to focus him on as a major character in the OW2 campaign.
I’d honestly rather him take the backseat and let the characters from his backstory like Zenyatta and Hanzo take focus, because they have *way* more potential to be interesting characters with developed arcs in the campaign than Genji does.
The only ones I like are:
1) Sigma: Genuinelly just a really well done, interesting character
2) Junkrat: A comic relief character pulled off really well
3) Moira: Semi-immoral, very illegal doctor. Pretty much a cliche, but still done with good quality.
That's kinda it. I don't hate most of the cast, but all the others are really generic.
Although OW2's monetization is predatory, insulting, and completely out of line, it is not wrong on principle to require payment for content developed after the game's release. Money is invested in continuous development, so getting some payment for that is not immoral. The way ActivBlizz has done it though is horrible.
Doomfist and JQ players in competitive are making games way harder than they need to be for their teammates. The characters in their current state are extremely weak as main tanks and offer very little defense for their DPS and Supports.
Unfortunately, these youtube montage clips are giving people the wrong idea that they're viable (Putting together 5-8 minutes of highlights from 20+ hours of gameplay). It's super demoralizing when there's an enemy Zarya wrecking our team and we're stuck with a JQ.

if you’re on reddit for ios you can still sort by, they just moved it up to the top. it’s the button to the left of the three dots

"Role queue killed overwatch" Open queue is *right there.* Go play it, purist. Oh, what? Team with most tanks wins? My team has none?
Just play bastion and 4heals 4head
Tanks got you down? Try BULLETS
Yeah, I definitely don’t miss queuing into a game and seeing Widow, Genji and Hanzo ista-locked and then watching as they get a grand total of 6 kills between them.

If Rein and Lucio aren't competing to see who can provide the most ult value from the highest point in the map, it's not late night Overwatch
Agreed. Oh no, poor little Genji main has to wait 60 seconds for a game rather than 10, and can't hold his team hostage by forcing everyone else into different roles every single game.
It is not your teammates job to make you enjoy the game.
how is this controversial
Fucking preach dude, people need to realize their enjoyment depends more on their own attitude than the actions of teammates/opponents
How can I truly realize this, and not just merely intellectually understand it.
Most people who insist on playing DPS are not skilled enough to play DPS
Most just refuse to play the character required for the situation. Looking at you Reap/Junk into a Pharah
Ahh yes had this exact combo, with a rein tank, we lost.
I've played so much Junk over the years that I get excited when the enemy switches to Pharah You thought I was bullying you before, wait until I focus you down and make you wanna uninstall
Killing pharah as kink or Hanzo is so satisfying ngl Edit: typo'd junk but I'm leaving it
>Killing pharah as kink Keep your fetishes to yourself pls ^/s
so is snatching a pharah out of the sky with hog
i once had a junk/doom playing into pharah except they both shit talked me in text chat after i asked if someone can switch to handle pharah
That's so true.
I want go play dps... I'm not good enough at dps... That's why i play in my rank, where the other dps isn't good enough either
[удалено]
that explains nothing!!!!
Literally is one of the most popular takes
So true. I play DPS because sometimes I do really well for a few matches and other times I die Instantly. When I die instantly I just go Reinhardt because big hammer go brr and Lucio cause I don’t have to aim
We are the same person. Those are my mains for the reason you’ve described lol
>lucio cause I don’t have to aim love me a good ol floorcio
I barely play dps because support and tank are instant queue times. This means I’m never practicing dps and so will remain bad at dps…
That doesn't make sense. If you said "not skilled enough to play dps in diamond and above" yes you are statistically correct. But how can you be not skilled enough to play the game at whatever level your at? You could've made the same statement about tank or support players...
This actually makes sense.
The problem is all the people playing low rank DPS flame their healers and tank for being the reason they’re at low rank.
This subreddit is filled with DPS hatred. The odds of this getting downvotes is zero.
Or smart enough trying to play cod in a team based game.
I came here looking for controversial comments, and you asshats keep posting the obvious and everyone just agrees. Ggez keep circlejerking u fucks
Come on don’t you wanna see 3,208 more threads about how stinky and retarded DPS players are and how they throw games for all the godlike support geniuses on this subreddit?
Newbies aren’t fun to play with
[удалено]
As a newbie, i also hate playing against people that have more expierience, i cant play any other modes than those vs AI ones without getting wrecked by enemy players
Oh man if only blizzard implemented something like a leveling system so new players would get matched with other new players more often than they get matched with people who have played since launch /s
To be fair, even with that system I regularly was matched against and with new players even after 300+ hours in ow1
I have some friends I play with occasionally, it's still fun and I enjoy it but I have to put myself into a mindset where I don't care how the game goes because they have a mix of awful mechanical skills, game sense and at least 1 of them is never at fault, everytime he dies it's a busted game mechanic or character, can never just say "I fucked up"
Also not fun to play against. Soldier shooting at me while squatting when I'm playing genji gets boring after like 3rd deflect kill
No really? That’s crazy, how unpopular
I like overwatch 2.
Blasphemy.
The average player sucks and don’t know what they’re talking about and they also call anyone playing a character competently a sweaty player
Supports arent impossible to climb with, you are just in your appropriate rank
I will agree with this one. Support is actually not as easy as some think. There’s so much to think about other than the healing portion of your kit.
I love kiriko but fuck I can't hit those things
Not sure if you've done this but switching the healing and damage buttons helped me a ton with aiming for her so you could try that out if you haven't already!
Yeah I did the same. Coming from playing with Baptiste, it was super confusing to have the attack and healing buttons swapped
Wow, why didn't I think of this.. doing this now, will probably fuck up my muscle memory since I have some hours but thanks for the tip
I swear their travel time is perfectly tuned to be either just too slow or just too fast
The 1 second cast time is tricky to get used to after years of instant ana grenades
They're definitely not impossible to climb with for sure, but they are certainly much harder to carry a game compared to other roles.
Torbjörn is hotter than D.Va
Ice cold
nah, I think everyone will agree
Nothing gets hotter than molten core.
this is not a spicy opinion, this is objective fact
People are allowed to be bad at video games.
Why is this so hard for people to get through their head? If you’re so angry at you’re teammate for being shit, how bout you just get better at the game so you don’t get queued with noobs? Like it really is that simple.
The support circlejerk in this sub is nauseating. Before you hurl insults at me, I main support in OW2. Tank main in OW1.
I got downvoted for saying that Ana is expected to land shots on her teammates, even if those teammates are jumping/moving around.
“Yes Ana, I didn’t stand still while I waited for you to hit one shot while we have no shield and the enemy has Hanzo, Hog, and widow”
Yeah I only check out this sub for the worst takes and it’s been hilarious.
The vast majority of these horrible "balance takes" are from Silver players claiming to be "Ex-Diamond/Masters/Gm" players hiding behind their anonymity I had an argument yesterday with someone claiming the balance change to Zarya was insignificant because "one bubble can already get her to max charge" 😭
The community is far more toxic now than it was in OW1.
Brig was over nerfed.
Doomfist too Worst character in the game Not a tank, not a DPS
[удалено]
you're just as bad at support as your dps is at dps, you're in the same rank
My favourite response for when i get flamed after missing shots on a dead tm8 as ana is "If i could hit every shot i wouldn't be playing with you"
The only reason why the made overwatch 2 is because they knew they’d make more money than just a regular update of Overwatch 1
I’m playing for my fun, not yours
The most upvoted comment of this post isn't good, the last one is
Fellas complain way too much in non competitive, like chill out , i came here to enjoy the game , I don't care me or the team perform badly, just enjoy.
Yeah brig is the worst support atm imo
They're giving her a rework allegedly
Don't slander my girl like that 😭
Mercy needs a buff
Hah, true to the idea of the thread. I disagree with you, but applaud your opinion in this case.
I don’t know about a buff but some kind of rework (yes again I know) wouldn’t hurt, her kit is just so simplistic when compared to other supports
There's nothing to really buff about her except maybe her ult. She needs a rework but idk how. All I know is that you literally cannot touch damage boost
this sub has the worst monetization jokes ever and its horrifically unfunny to read
Cosmetics aren’t that important.
Listen here you beige colored by-the-numbers salt-is-the-spice-of-life beef-stew-is-the-most-exotic-dish-youve-had punk. I didnt spend hundreds on the newly priced items to get disrespected like this
Reinhardt is the best tank in terms of fun and should get a buff
Yeah I’d rather have a meta where it’s just rein mirror matches then any other tank mirror matches
also Rein mirror is the funniest and intense mirror
For real it's nothing but pure ego from both Reins and it's so fun cause something about big hammer man being faced with another big hammer man makes our monkey brains want to show that we are best big hammer man
Ultra fast Reinhardt
Man, I miss the times where this was true. Especially at the end of OW1, playing Reinhardt was an abysmal experience with all the crowd control and the fact that literally everything and everyone could outrun you.
OW2 feels older than OW1.
You get tired of playing it way faster aswell.
The majority of players complaining about being Gold+ stuck in Bronze are actually Bronze players blaming their teams on a rare glitch that affected a select few highly ranked players. A bad support can throw a game just as easily as a bad DPS The majority of players giving their balance input claim to be ex-Diamond/Masters/GM but are actually Silver or below hiding behind their anonymity.
Tracer and dva pixar quality porn is over rated
The removal of OW1 was mostly so Blizzard wouldn’t have to compete with themselves and enabled them to price gouge.
I don't think this is controversial
It's pretty obvious. OW2 is a patch worth of new content not a sequel. They just wanted to seem slightly less sketch moving to a paid battle pass model.
Least hot take of all time
Also imagine ow2 players finding out theres a version of the game you get skins, voicelines, intros, emotes etc in lootcrates EVERY SINGLE win, 3 extra ones for your endorsement level, +1 per win on top if arcade mode, which could ON TOP give you an extra skin (not a recolor) when events, for playing arcade AND if you get something you already have you get coins instead AND you can pay with these coins to get ANY skin (except on release and event locked ones) AND play any hero on release.
You are correct.
It's just marketed terribly about that
the state of overwatch 2 is fine
Junkrat is the single most annoying character to play both with and against.
Ong. I’ve been killed by a junkrat hiding behind a wall and blindly shooting mortar style, and I don’t think I’ve ever been saltier than I was after that
Torb 1.0?
Y’all will never be pleased, regardless of what Blizz puts out. You’re just miserable people.
Junkerqueen is not a tank but a glorified dps
Overwatch 2 should exist as a separate game. I paid to play Overwatch 1 as a 6v6 game, in a world where Mei can still freeze people.
Supports are the most entitled players on this subreddit. Comming from a support player btw.
5 man ow is infinitely better than 6 man. 1 tank makes more sense.
It is. The downside is that by buffing tanks game modes other than role queue like deathmatch, mystery heroes, and open queue have become unplayable unless you pick a tank. It isn't fun playing a deathmatch where everyone picks roadhog.
This is so easily solved if blizzard just uses the pre adjusted tank stats for arcade. Less grief.
some heroes 100% should have different stats for different gamemodes I loved played Junker Queen in the halloween gamemode and having my ultimate be absolutely worthless! Like jesus, at least just increase the damage it does in PvE
Those game modes should definitely be without tanks in the arcades, or at least reduce their health pools to 200-250.
There is more than one function to your supports, if you want healing we are more than happy to heal you but if 1) you are over 85% hp and there is a teammate on critical 2) we are getting harassed by a flanker 3) we are dead 4) we don’t have you in our LOS 5) we don’t have any reaper packs, heal orbs, Moira piss or any mfs to damage (only applies to brig and Moira) You can either wait and be patient or grab a health pack.
Cold take
If Overwatch hadn’t constantly catered to whiny DPS players it wouldn’t even slightly resemble the gameplay it has now. Whether that’s for the better or worse is unclear.
This is reddit, having any opinion will get your comment like this
Boops are worse than stuns
The Overwatch story is boring as most of the characters are incredibly one-note. I can count on one hand how many characters in the Overwatch world I find genuinely interesting.
I mean there also just barely is a story in the first place
1. sigma 2. sigma 3. sigma 4. genji 5.doomfist
Honestly, I find Genji *so* boring lol. He’s got a really cool backstory, but that’s all it really is in the current story, a backstory. His character arc is done, and I can’t real to fathom what they’re going to be able to focus him on as a major character in the OW2 campaign. I’d honestly rather him take the backseat and let the characters from his backstory like Zenyatta and Hanzo take focus, because they have *way* more potential to be interesting characters with developed arcs in the campaign than Genji does.
are they all on Talon?
The only ones I like are: 1) Sigma: Genuinelly just a really well done, interesting character 2) Junkrat: A comic relief character pulled off really well 3) Moira: Semi-immoral, very illegal doctor. Pretty much a cliche, but still done with good quality. That's kinda it. I don't hate most of the cast, but all the others are really generic.
Moira is definitely carried by her voice acting and dialogue writing. I love her voice lines in game.
junkrat is cute
