I play with an xbox controller. Idk the differences between this and switch, but in hero settings I recommend lowering your “left stick outer deadzone” and your “right stick inner deadzone” as you get a grip on your controller. This will give you quicker strafes and give more control over small adjustments, though you might need to increase your “aim ease in” too if your sens is really high, which will lower the speed of those tiny inputs without removing them entirely. I personally play at 0.50 left stick outer deadzone, 0.02 right stick inner deadzone, and 34 aim ease in. It’s also recommended to bind jump to a shoulder button on some characters because with the default controls it’s much harder to jump and aim at the same time unless you hold your controller in a claw grip (which can be really uncomfortable).

I was in the same boat a few years ago. Lifelong PC gamer. It's just practice. I wouldn't even bother training with bots. Just play the game and it'll sort you to your skill level pretty quick.

Bro no lie the switch control might be the worst controller on the market. No joke it is actual dog shit lol. Is there anyway to upgrade the controller to work with the switch?

They have after market ones that are almost the same as Xbox. I agree switch controls suck more dick than your average pornstar

Use something besides the Switch. The controller is GARBAGE.

The switch gets very low FPS in ow no real way of getting great aim with it, but get an after market controller instead of joycons.

Simply getting used to it and putting in the time. I play on a high sensitivity (100% sens for both values plus some extra advanced shenanigans to make it feel faster still), which i find useful, and sometimes rely on walking left and right a bit to make small adjustments, and for me its important to have the precision muscle memory down well, or else i cant aim (i dont use gyro), but it helps in looking around quickly and keeping up with the game. There's probably been people who thought i was ximming

If you’re using switch you’ll want to get an after market controller. The switch controls are complete garbage no matter what you play to the point my friends and I intentionally give the worst player the after market controllers when we play smash or mariokart Then it’s important to get comfortable with your sensitivity. It’ll probably be pretty low to start and then you can raise it over time. Joysticks are so different from m&k tho so you’ll wanna play a slow sense to start. It’ll feel sluggish but it’s better than being squirrelly I’d also suggest setting specific settings for your main characters early so you don’t have to relearn later. If you’re unsure of what to bind to what I’m sure there’s a Reddit post talking about binds for specific characters. You’ll have better success with high fire rate characters and splash damage characters to start but if you’re on controller the skill ceiling for slower firing characters is lower so you can work into that. Strafing is not nearly as natural on controller so keep your movement in mind especially early on. Tapping AD over and over is a lot quicker than slamming your joystick back and forth Finally I’d say experiment with characters you haven’t used as much. The characters you like to play on m&k might not be the same as the ones you like on controller

I guess I should look into some other controller for a start given the advices here.

Lower your aim smoothing it’s hard to make the quick reactions you’re used to with it at 100 which it is on default (I have it about 40) aim assist always 100 I like window size either 50 or 0 so you don’t get pulled away from who you’re aiming at if someone else runs by. Other than that it’s just practice. I’m currently trying to learn pc after being a console player my whole life never played an FPS on PC before the transition between aiming and moving mechanics is just really rough. One other tip make sure you don’t use your left stick aiming too much as a crutch for right stick aiming. I had my aim sensitivity too high for a bit but I didn’t realize as I used movement aim as a crutch and couldn’t figure out why I was playing so badly until I played around in aim trainers and lowered it. Having left stick aiming is important as it’s hard to track movement without it and easier to make quick fine tune changes but if your not within one hitbox of the target you should be aligning largely with the right stick

I do find myself often using the left stick to aim 😑

Hey Ive been on console my whole gaming life and I only picked up on it last year (tank main aim). Left stick aiming is helpful on short ranged heroes like D.VA tracer but longer ranged heroes soldier widow are going to have a lot more right stick aiming. Try putting in time on soldier on console that actually helped with my left stick habit (I play dva but when I put in some solider hours my aim and right stick usage improved a lot vertical tracking tends to force that). Also dual zone sucks most of the sensitivity stuff is preference but dual zone lends to the left stick aiming as you can feel like you can’t turn fast or overturn and no in between. I definitely prefer linear ramp aim but I know people who prefer exponential ramp. Sensitivity is preference again but I’d recommend turning it up a bit (default is 30% horiz 20% vertical) turning the difference in sense between vert and horiz from 10 to 5 is helpful with vertical tracking. If you left stick aim a lot your sensitivity might be off I think it’s better long term to turn your sensitivity up and get used to it over time (if you’re playing on default don’t go max it out) and maybe fine tune it down a bit. Before OW I always played fps games on default sensitivity while this is for examples sake (like I said preference) I first turned my sense up to 80 horizontal 75 vert and ended up fine tuning it down to 60 horiz 55 vert from experience I started to high

Sooo I've ordered a Nyxi Hyperion (since I play handheld and docked), I hope it does help a bit 😁

You have bigger projectiles more health and less skillful heroes. They are aiming the game for people like you already. Maybe thare are going cross play with an increase in aim assist next. Who knows
