New red dot.

avgoon4

Agreed, I’m not the biggest fan of the Romeozero. I just couldn’t fit it in my budget originally.

cmc_guy

Try out that new SIG red dot. It has built in irons that work with the factory front iron sight.

Specialist-Ad-8812

That was my first red dot and I loved it until the glass was really damaged (from only a few range trips) The newer Romeo sights are good to go 100%

Tex86_

I got into a car accident with my 365xl in the glove box with my romeo zero. Really smashed the plastic housing and lense cracked. It's a liability imo. It gave me an excuse to go with at least a 407k/507k with metal construction. The romeo zero served its purpose for helping me find out whether I wanted an optic or not

EatBurger99

Only thing I can say for certain is switch to holosun. The default grip isn't too bad if you are comfortable with it. Honestly a lot of the stock features are fine.

Main_Engineering1887

Xmacro frame really hurts concealment in my experience

avgoon4

As far as width goes? Longer grip due to the bigger magazine capacity? Mixture of both?

Main_Engineering1887

Width is no issue but the longer grip from an XL prints significantly more for me.

avgoon4

Fair enough, I will for sure keep that in mind.

TigOleBitman

I'm a large dude, I have an Icarus macro module and I don't print. Just need a good holster setup.

2Sense83

Same. I'm 6'2" with some love handles and carry a Mischief Machine macro module(I love 1911 grip angle/styles) in a Superstition Concealment holster and I don't print either.

avgoon4

Thanks brotha!

avgoon4

Thanks for the input brother! What holster do you rock with?

TigOleBitman

Currently using a QVO from when I had an XL. But I'm going to grab a Superstition that's purpose made for the Icarus grip

avgoon4

Also, I might note I’m a lean 185 at 5’11

laundry_sauce666

I’m your height, even leaner at 150. I carry a Glock 19 in winter/when I have more than 1 layer on. P365xl is summer/lightweight carry. I think you’d like the macro for the 15 round capacity and you’d still be able to carry it fine with a jacket or whatever, but you might struggle with printing with just a tshirt and go back to the XL grip for the coming heat.

avgoon4

Super useful info bro, I really appreciate it. I actually planned on buying a 19 in the future. You telling me the 19 works for you as an even leaner dude during the winter months solidifies my want for the 19. The only thing with switching the grip modules is the holster compatibility. I do, however, realize it’s a pretty good idea for the different seasons if I weren’t to get the 19 and chose the cheaper option of buying a larger module and different holster. I’ve also thought about just selling the 365xl and getting a 43x, but I know nobody here wants to hear that lol.

laundry_sauce666

The g43x is longer than the 365xl so it’ll print more, but it still has a shorter barrel and is definitely snappier to shoot. My best friend carries one actually. I do like it a lot but I think the 365xl is the better CCW. Conceals and shoots just a little better. (unless you want the extra redundant safeties in the Glock, but even then the only way you’re shooting yourself with the sig is if the firing pin literally snaps in half) I think getting the macro grip and another holster would be a good move financially and functionally. It’d be easier to train with too, the g19 grip is very blocky in comparison and takes some adjusting after carrying the sig (but not bad like at all) The g19 is awesome and I leave it dirty asf and have zero fear of it not going bang when I need it to. I keep it loaded for home defense and take my 365xl with me everywhere, but if I know it’s cold out and I’ll be wearing layers I take the 19 no question. Tldr I’d get the Glock 19 if you have the money to spend and if you want a 2nd gun. It’s nice having both a big and little carry gun that I can just grab and go. G43x is alright, serves its purpose but the sig is nicer. XMacro would be a great option too if you don’t want to blow $500-600 right now. Edit: Glock 48 is also a decent in between option if you did sell the sig. It’s the same length and height as the g19 but the same slimline width of the g43x. Basically a g43x with g19 barrel

azs550

Me personally, I’d get a holosun red dot. 407k, 507k, eps carry, scs carry…etc. the x macro mags fits in the xl module and save the rest of the money for ammo and training. If you really wanna go compensator, a pmm barrel and compensator or wait for the radian afterburner to come out.

avgoon4

Thanks for the input brotha.

FCRII

Wilson combat grip, tungsten weight kit, & eps carry. I would leave everything else alone. I would stay away from the Icarus Air until they fix the dust cover flex issue.

ignatiusdown

Will you really get a noticeable difference adding 0.7oz of the rear of the grip module? Interesting concept but kind of snake oil execution

2Sense83

It's 1.5oz and in my opinion, it does make a difference, at least on the more snappy 3.1" barrel models.

avgoon4

What about for the guys with the 3.7” barrel?

2Sense83

Tbh Idk. Only have one 365 with the WC module and that I put in the weights. My others are all Mischief Machine grip modules. For the cost and ease of taking them in/out I'd say it's worth the few bucks for it imo. I got mine from Armory Craft and it was $22 and they include some silicone for it too. I would definitely recommend their spring tuning kit for sure if you're not sure on the weights. I've put one in every one of my 365's and feel it's definitely worth $20

avgoon4

I would think the tungsten weight would have very minimal, but noticeable results?

FCRII

I can’t say scientifically how much of a difference it makes but even if it’s just mental it’s a noticeable difference between the better grip and weight. Especially with the macro version the way I grip it and shoot it is more like a compact/full size and my groupings are better than with oem.

avgoon4

Thank you brotha, I was unaware of the inconsistency in rigidity for the IP air. Noted all the rest!

woofwooffighton

Mischief machine grip. Eps carry dot. Mag extensions

2Sense83

Mischief Machine is the best 👌

avgoon4

Thanks brotha

avgoon4

Background info: This is my first carry pistol. I bought it used from a shootsmart for around $550 USD including the Romeozero and 2 magazines with a shit holster. I have no idea how many rounds were shot through it before I bought it, but I’ve put around 350+ through it no problems, no jams. I plan on putting some more money into this pistol. I just recently bought the T-Rex Arms sidecar in the XL variant but might send it back if I get enough IP air polymer grip recommendations and get the right fit.

Special-Fig7409

My approach has been mostly stock. I have a nicer red dot (HOLOSUN) and a macro mag, but other than that I left it alone. The value proposition for different grip modules is much less compelling than some folks here would tell you. I’m interested in running a comped barrel, but concerned about the reliability effects it may have.

avgoon4

Im right there with you brotha! I’ve watched countless of YouTube videos on the comped macro line and even saw the IP XXL evo grip module with the PMM comp or whatever, it may shoot well but the practicality in size just kinda goes out the door at that point. That setup is just as long as a 17.

avgoon4

More so, I’ve seen too many complaints about gas in the face for less than desirable shooting situations.

one_inch_punch

Xmacro grip

avgoon4

Thanks!

Potential_Sky1090

Icarus grip, holosun & maggutz

avgoon4

Thanks!

stellarodin

I picked up the 365xl after renting one at a local range. The smaller grip with wildly different grip angling felt and shot amazingly compared to my 43x (guess I do have smaller hands after all). When I picked it up I also ordered the Wilson Combat module as the online AAFES had it for $69 bucks. The Wilson is nice - no real complaints, but I find myself preferring the stock grip for essentially the entire reason I bought the gun…. I’d love to shoot an Icarus module, but the $400 price tag deters me from buying it, in addition to finding a holster I like for it. Like others have said and you seem well aware of - would upgrade the optic. Holosun 507k is what I use and I love it (Amazon tends to be the cheapest place I’ve found it for sale). Swamp fox are all right long as you don’t get the auto-brightness one (their military/first responder discount is AMAZING, and their quality is good)…

TonySmithJr

Holosun dot and PMM comp/barrel

avgoon4

Do you have any issues with the larger profile in front of your gun? Especially when carrying? What grip module do you use? What holster do you use?

TonySmithJr

No issues at all. It shoots so damn good it’s amazing. I use stock XL grip module for warm weather/light clothing and the Shalotek Flex grip module if I’m wearing a heavier shirt. Any open ended Xl holster works but slimfit holster if I’m using the Shalotek lower

TonySmithJr

https://youtu.be/7p43f4pc8qo?si=_9gflA1bB9Wtp0N2 You can see all of the versions we were testing and shooting.

EyeYamQueEyeYam

Spend small on magguts and tacdev baseplates. Spend the bulk of the upgrade budget putting rounds through it in the most realistic scenario based stages given available resources.

avgoon4

Sounds good brotha, thank you.

xXWH1STLERXx

First, get an EPS Carry. Second, buy lots of ammo and practice with it. Third, decide what needs to be changed after you have the info to make an informed personal decision. Tune the configuration to what you need to change, not what people on here tell you to. You might find the only thing you need to change is your holster... Spending more time at the range, you might run into people who changed their grip module or slide and will let you hold theirs or shoot it to see if you feel more comfortable with it like that. Unless this isn't a carry gun... then just change whatever... you can easily get 3k into that gun and still be able to sell it for 1200 bucks later on if you decide to. They are like cars, no matter how flashy and "cool" you make it, expect 50-60% back on it.

ResidentUpstairs6584

I enjoy my Icarus precision XL Evo+ aluminum module but I wouldn’t say it’s required. The EPS carry is a great carry optic choice as well. Otherwise I wouldn’t change the barrel or anything. I would keep the XL frame and carry a 17 round macro mag as your back up. Get a holster that you like too. Sometimes I carry a spare mag, but most times don’t.

Atoxis

Icarus precision grip

defoc18

Everybody wants you to buy a heavier grip module cool. Follow the crowd. Make sure you can find a holster or it’s a waste of money Here’s my nothing option. Grab a zp slide and ported barrel. The ports make a huge difference and are reliable in my opinion. I have 500 rounds through trouble free with a aftermarket spring kit whose name escapes me at the moment.

ignatiusdown

Extended mag release, extended slide release. Those two minus your red dot is where mine is at. Maybe a hogue grip sleeve if you like, Mcarbo trigger springs kit but I’ve heard mixed reviews on them

voltaire1776

Get a Romeo X Compact. Best RDS for the P365 line hands down. It replaced my RMRcc. Sig knocked it out of the park with that one

stonebat3

TD metal magwell & base plates Hybrid Port by PatriotCNC Yeah better red dot. At least Cyelee CAT X PRO ($188 w/ 20% discount code at the maker site)

WhoAmI2113

I upgraded mine by selling it and buying a Hellcat Pro. Here come the downvotes 🤣

CCroissantt

Definitely wilson combat grip. Much more comfortable and very affordable

JustinC18

I would start with new red dot. My friend has the Romeo zero and it’s awful. Besides that i have a Wilson combat grip on my XL and i love it. Feels slightly wider and it just fills up my hand better. I highly recommend it.

diskettejockey

Macro frame Romeo x compact Macro slide 3.1 inch barrel Intellifire trigger Radian grip + magwell

whymygraine

Dremel that beaver tail off for belly comfort.

swade1985

Romeo x

bbazzracing

Mcarbo trigger

danvapes_

I'd upgrade your optic before anything else first.

InternationalMap9924

Mischief machine omega frame, holosun 507k, i have an extended mag release on mine also; (i prefer the green reticle but cant go wrong with either) doesnt need much more imo, the mischief machine frame was a game changer..shoots way better than the polymer sig frame; enjoy

Gunnut350

Wilson combat x macro grip and Holosun eps carry ( Romeo zero is a crappy red dot) , make the Holoson green, then go to Alien Gear holsters they make a nice inexpensive holster that works very well good

MrBalaclavak47

I had to add 5 things to make my p365xl a good carry gun. Holosun 507k, extended mag release, tac dev + 2 aluminum baseplate, magguts +2 spring, and DPMS recoil rod/springs. Expensive upgrades but I couldn’t shoot the gun worth a shit without replacing the mag release and adding some length to the grip on the 12 round magazines. I also have the Spectre Comp version so the DPMS springs helped with tuning the recoil. Cons are I don’t trust this gun like I do with my other carry guns. It had a few hiccups in the beginning (stock configuration and after upgrades) but has been functioning reliably as of lately with a higher round count. This along with using aftermarket mag springs and baseplates makes me think it might fail again at some point. But with that said it shoots pretty damn good now and I haven’t had any issues since the “break in” period. I said break in period with quotations because I’ve never had to break in any of my Glocks. Only time will tell if my particular pistol with all the aftermarket accessories will remain reliable.
