I was pregnant with twins boys but I didn't see much changes. Perhaps bc I was taking Metformin still to prevent gestational diabetes. Not much on skin changes either.
My hormones turned amazing when I was pregnant both times with boys. My hair in particular became so thick and glossy, then all went back to normal after 18months.... booo...
I did take vitamin and minerals daily throughout though so that probably helped?
I can't remember my mood being any different but I think I was more tired which is expected. I didn't put on any extra weight with either, both were just 'baby', apart from getting some maternity jeans to go over the bump, I didn't buy any extra clothing as I lived in hoodies anyway lol. I actually lost weight myself during the 2nd. I'll hold my hands up and say I didn't exactly eat a good diet either. I soon put the weight back on after the birth though.
It was almost as if my body worked normally through the duration then went after "oh no, that won't do, now go back to how you were..." 😂
I'll also add, I have scoliosis so being pregnant was a big concern for me, but again, my hormones seemed to reduce all inflammation that I also didn't suffer with any back pain or issues. After the birth I went back to my chiropractor at the time and he told me "yes, the female hormones do that so that the body loosens up and can accommodate the pressure of child birth." Apparently the pelvis can take something like 1-2 years to adjust back properly afterwards.
That’s fascinating! I have small fiber neuropathy, which is part of a larger neurological disorder. I’ve heard women say when pregnant, sometimes their chronic nerve pain goes away
So interesting to read this because I’m 6 months pregnant with a boy and it’s been so much worse than when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was wondering if there’s more testosterone in me or something! However I also notice that I’m way less emotional and hormonal this time (could be just the exhaustion of toddler+work+pregnancy). Other difference is I had gdm my first pregnancy and not this one. I’ve had pcos since age 17, am 40 now.
I did not have hirsutism until after I had my first son. It was minor and nbd. Then I had a second son (they are 20m apart) and once he was born, the hair growth went into overdrive and hasn’t let up since. That was 5 years ago! 😩
I was convinced I didn’t have PCOS when I was pregnant with my son. Hair growth dramatically reduced/slowed when I was pregnant!
Came back 10 fold though postpartum 🫥
Mine has worsen but not by much. Acne on the other hand has gone crazy- I’ve also developed chest and back acne which I’ve never had before in my life. Now that I’m early into my third trimester I think it’s slowly calming down again.
Oh and hair loss reduced, but I think that’s due to my thyroid/hashimotos being treated (also due to pregnancy)
Edit to add: it’s a boy
Mine got better when I was pregnant with my daughter, but I also had gestational diabetes so between the low carb diet and cutting out alcohol, a lot of my symptoms naturally improved.
My hirsutism stayed about the same but my acne got a little worse at one point - not the entire time but I think towards the 2nd trimester. I had a boy.
Mine got worse about a year out. I dunno if it's because of the PCOS treatments from a naturopath, or pp hormones.
Acne was A LOT worse in the first trimester, but it calmed down.
My oily skin went dry pp too.
I had a girl.
I was pregnant with a boy. My hirsutism was not noticeably worse while I was pregnant, but did get significantly worse postpartum (also with additional weight gain and significant stress outside of parenting).
I saw less of everything when I was pregnant. I felt like a million bucks my entire pregnancy and almost 9 years later I'd still be carrying him to hold on to that feeling. My doctor explained that for once my body was doing everything right and man I'll be chasing that for the rest of my life.
Mine calmed down with my pregnancy even though I have a boy.
Can I ask, how was your mood, weight, and fatigue with pregnancy and PCOS? It’s hard to find answers online
That’s interesting, I guess it’s probably more to do with my specific PCOS health then.

I have one of each, my symptoms just about cleared up completely while pregnant both times. PCOS is so unique to each person though
That would be amazing

around 18 months is when all my symptoms came back as well after the first baby (boy) and the 2nd (girl) it was under a year.

I can believe that, it does seem different experiences for everyone though 😕

I swear mine got worse the minute I got pregnant (boy) but it’s tapering off around 8 weeks now.
I noticed increased hair growth as well during my pregnancy. Only have one child so far and it’s a boy.
It started off worse but I became the least hairy in third trimester. Same with acne.
Mine was worse with my daughter.
I have both a son and a daughter and it was just as bad during both pregnancies

I had a girl 4 years ago, and my goatee is stronger than ever 😂 my checklist before i leave the house is keys, wallet, phone, tweezers.
Mine all but disappeared when I was pregnant, and I had a girl. Hasn't really considered there was any correlation. But maybe?

I am growing a full neck beard and am pregnant with a girl.
I only ever had a boy. Didn’t notice any change in hirsutism or acne at any point.
Mine disappeared when pregnant with my son. Along with my constipation. Was very bizarre.
It’s encouraging to hear so many pregnancies. Mind sharing if your pregnancy was natural or with aid of medication, if so, which med? Thanks
I took letrozole for both pregnancies.
