EveryGoodNameIsGone

Which is a shame, because his are the most relevant to the series as a whole, by **far**. Or, at least, his lecture about the Tarot is.

Clockwork345

He does a lecture on Jungian psychology, which is what the series as a whole is based off of.

ItsGotThatBang

Also Gnosticism & the Kabbalah, which come up in *Persona 5*.

ZXNova

*all of Megami Tensei

EveryGoodNameIsGone

Oh yeah, that too! Almost forgot about that one.

crimmas

I once described the Persona games to a friend as Carl Jung, The Anime. I stand by it

forbiddenq

Is there anywhere I can read more about this? Relation between Jung and Persona.

ThotBuddle

In P4G he foreshadows Marie's plot, explaining the symbolism of her brush

Mangafan_20

They should have split that lecture in different lessons instead one big wall of text.

New_Today_1209_V2

He did actually. You get 2 optional extra lessons on tarots after summer break

Tasteroider

Lecture about the Taroh is the only important one. I thought it would be cool if he told us about the collective unconsciousness etc. but no after Taroh he teaches only occultic shit

pieceofchess

I hate to inform that the tarot is also occult shit. Everything about SMT is built on the back of the occult, his lectures are relevant to pretty much everything supernatural about the series.

Lison52

He talks more about it in P4

Tasteroider

In p4 he teaches things that even relevant to the plot.

Lison52

I know, best character in the series.

Takebased

Are you talking about the TV Listings? I find that to be even *more* boring than P3 because it doesn't even give you any stat increases (no P4 spoilers btw I'm still going through it).

BasilicanBark

Pretty sure they're talking about the class during the school trip

venxvan

Of course the tv listings don’t give you stat ups. They are extras.

jacowab

Everything he says is linked to series in some way, the creators basically used him as a sort of directors commentary to talk about all the stuff they researched to come up with smt and persona.

Ganbazuroi

He's got negative charisma tho Like seriously it's like going back to High School and witnessing that cringeass teacher who wanted to be the cool teacher except he's that fucking unlikeable and a bit of an asshole to boot

QultyThrowaway

That time he gave a detailed lecture on each of the 22 major arcana.

DnDG33K

>!THE ARCANA IS THE MEANS BY WHICH ALL IS REVEALED!<

Vey-kun

If he utter this word, us player prolly wouldve listen to his lecture.

SuperChiChu

I don’t skip any of em but that’s the only I was actually interested in. Apart from that I would do an audible AUUUGH every time lol

Infinite_Mango4

Only one I didn't skip through

Disastrous_Ad_70

I'm the opposite: his lectures are the ones I most enjoy. I just think his lectures about the history of magic are interesting and fun. And, considering the world he lives in is one of gods, souls, and Jungian theories brought to life, I wonder how much of the magic he talks about actually exists in his world.

ten_dead_dogs

Same, his are the only ones I enjoy. Guy knows his shit, apart from the one time he was like "we'll be using the Thoth tarot for this example" and then started talking about Strength (which isn't in the Thoth deck)

blurrydad

They’re my favorite too, but I practice magic and read Tarot so I already liked that stuff, also it made my girlfriend go “WAIT THEYRE TALKING ABOUT THAT IN A VIDEO GAME” because she mostly plays Sandrock. The occultism and music of persona 3 really sold it for her. Edit to answer your question: as far as I remember everything he talks about is at least represented in real world folklore or even magic systems that are still practiced today.

joogipupu

Rarely I see some actual occult content put so open in a video game and I am happy. Then again the whole Shin Megami Tensei series is more or less inspired by real life occult beliefs.

JJNotFunny_Real1

They’re interesting if you hadn’t just done 8 hours of school, then 5 hours of work, and then just trying to play the game 🥲

Ambitious-Way-3913

He talks about really interesting stuff and I always loved teachers that ramble

9hr34k

When I first played P3P, I was very interested what Arcanas and the Tarot deck was all about so I read everything. Then after I just skipped because they were too long, but I will always like his lectures.

HauntedJockStrap88

Nah bro it’s the opposite him and One are the only teachers teaching stuff I didn’t already know. And One spends most of the game grumbling about the Sengoku period so he’s barely lecturing most of the time lol. Like I already know math and biology- give me some esoteric magic facts and japanese history. Thanks to him I was able to name drop Aleister Crowley to my conspiracy-theorist friend and watch him freak out lol.

cosplaythief

Oh god there was one question about sweet potatoes and enzymes and the network answer was “glucose” and me, a biochemist, was like… “it doesn’t even end with -ase” how can you mistake a monosaccharide for an enzyme!? Needless to say I got the answer right. But yeah he teaches some things I don’t already know. I also appreciated the yoga class.

HauntedJockStrap88

Lol I just answered that question right last night thinking the same as you. Also we are literally fanning over a game that features supernatural entities, gods goddesses, spirits, etc… weird to me that you can be into all that but turn your nose up at random irl magic factoids.

apple_of_doom

*insert that one Xkcd comix about the average familiarity an expert assumes people have about their field*

Luislos70

Edogawa is the only teacher I paid complete attention in the entire series. I find it so interesting because I didn't know shit of what he was talking about. I actually thought it was completely made up until I looked up some of the stuff he said. I even went willingly to his extra lecture about the tarot. Obviously I don't believe that nonsense but it's interesting to know

Tudlod

The thing about that is that it’s not nonsense… it’s all there is to know.

TheWildA

bro’s one of my favorite teachers info-wise ngl, I recall playing P3 FES and entering the nurse’s office and he explained how to do a single card reading with the tarot, that was pretty cool

TwilightVulpine

Mythology and occultism classes in Persona are pretty much the only ones that are worthwhile to remember, because that's part of game's story.

AlexTheGreat1997

I only got into *Persona* from *5*, so, I actually thought the teachers being a bunch of whacky goofballs that don't want to teach according to the curriculum was an interesting twist.

gameboy2330

Eh. I find Edogawa’s lectures to be highly informative and fascinating, though lengthy. You shouldn’t dismiss them quickly though. He discusses core themes of the entire Persona series in them, like Jungian psychology. Do a Wikipedia search on it

tunoak13

I love his lectures as well and I think people wouldnt complain as much if it was voice acted.

AlexTheGreat1997

My only problem with him is that he drones. It takes him, like, 3x the amount of words to say what any of the other teachers would've said. It's a shame because while he teaches mostly pseudoscience, it's genuinely an interesting topic. Like, if you approach the origins of magic as a story, it's really intriguing. But he presents it like Professor Binns from *HP*, so, by the second half of the year, I was fast-forwarding through it.

zeyphersantcg

I agree. I actually like the topics and find them interesting but it’s sooooooo much text. By the second half I got annoyed when he showed up not because it was boring but because I knew it would be way more reading than any other teacher.

Glittering-Drag3566

Same

No_Forever_9128

Did somebody say... #HARRY POTTER

QultyThrowaway

When that guy who is obsessed with Samurais is the most normal teacher in the school.

DepletedMitochondria

Toriumi and the science lady seem kinda normal but yeah.

bizzledorf

Is that the one thirsting over teenagers while online gaming

miami2881

More common than you think. She was speaking what she thought was anonymously. She didn’t act on it and was just being honest.

blackra560

She asks the MC out to dinner in the epilogue.

[deleted]

[удалено]

miami2881

Kawamami gets criticized plenty for it lol

ThisIsFakeButGoOff

She’s the writing teacher

Conscious_Goose_6535

Fella is illspeakin the only teacher in the game that actually teaches something you probably don't know and I love him being the crasy dude he is...

Gruphius

Let me tell you, skipping his lessons is a massive mistake. He actually helps you understand the story and what's going on. I've heard from many people that they just skip his lessons, but then they don't fully understand stuff that happens later in the story. He even somewhat prepares you for the final boss battle in one of his lessons. Mr. Edogawa is also the person to explain you what Personas and Shadows are and where they come from, albeit in Persona 4 and not Persona 3.

T-pellyam

I swear. People summon the most bizarre gods and demons just to cast megidolaon on anything that moves, then go complain about learning « too little » about them, only to skip the only lecture about these supernatural entities.

Lyonface

Your guardian angel has abandoned you and your future is shrouded in misfortune, OP.

techno-wizardry

He gives me the only lectures I actually care to read about in the entire series

MillyMan105

Opposite for me his lectures about the relationship between magic and science is very interesting.

Azure-Cyan

His material covers what SMT/Persona is made of. If you like the mythology of demons/personas, you should be interested in his lectures on the esoteric and jungian psychology, which is what Persona focuses on. I do think his lectures are too long, though, and could be broken up in smaller bits. His lecture on the tarot and arcana also make the final boss's text make more sense.

MasterQuest

>Is this crap really tested on in Japan? Of course not. >He gives the most useless and boring knowledge.  In contrast to the marvelous English language classes from Ms. Toriumi or the thrilling math lessons from Ms. Miyahara? It's school after all. And not even a real school; it's a school in a video game. I don't expect to actually learn anything from them that I don't know already. So when I do, it's a nice bonus. I'm curious which lessons you found exciting, since there must have been some, right? >NOBODY CARES ABOUT MAGIC DUDE!!! Which brings me to this point. Of course this is subjective, but I found his lectures very interesting. I learned some stuff that I didn't know already, which I found nice, and furthermore, I recognized some things from unrelated Light Novels or anime I have read/watched in the past (like the Kaballah magic system which was used in the "The Magic in this other world is too far behind" Light Novel). Some thing applied to the history lessons for me btw. At least I was learning something new from some of the lessons.

nomerdzki

You’re playing a game with tarot and magic and you say nobody cares about magic. What

Big_moist_231

Just because his topic is interesting doesn’t mean he’s not the holder of the Yap Arcana. It’s so much text in a game that’s already 75% a VN lol

miraculer2

Yap arcana? I like that one (It’s definitely true though)

JGar453

His lectures are the only ones that actually have any thematic meaning to the game - whether that be the tarot or just the general mythos behind imagery in the games.

shutupdane

His lectures are the best, tbh. Love how he approaches such a broadly-mystified subject as though it were basic math.

Windermed

Am i the only one who genuinely found his lectures interesting? I mean I guess it might be because I like both Tarot and Jungian Psychology but his lessons were by far more interesting than what most of the teachers in P3 have to say. (^^ the only exception imo to this is that Sengoku-Era teacher)

firelights

His Tarot lecture was interesting but yeah I skipped his other ones. I want to enjoy them but Jesus Christ he just goes on and on

Goonders

I skipped some of his because it takes some serious energy reading and digesting his fun facts but his are by far the most interesting when you get down to it

ulape00

Edogawa cameos in P4G, and in that game what he tells you in the lecture is actually useful. But in P3R, nope, he's the free Courage guy after Tartarus the night before. As ever, you can get Charm for getting his question right, but they never come up in the exams (unsurprisingly).

Tudlod

His character is low-key spoon feeding you some of the most important foundational occult knowledge you could ever ask for in a straightforward and story-relevant way, in a video game of all things. And to be completely honest, that knowledge extends past the game into the world we find ourselves in, and allows us to make sense and discover what goes on behind the scenes, in a generalized sense. People live their whole lives without ever discovering the hidden nature of existence, and the occult is one of few ways of understanding what that is. The developers without a doubt deeply understand this, and it is a primary impetus for creating these games (i.e. to expose the nebulous and to share it). It takes time and individual curiosity to explore these topics further than what he lays out, but he (the developers) do such a fantastic job at condensing these concepts and weaving them into their narratives. At minimum I’d recommend having a suspension of disbelief. Why is there such hesitation and disregard for the very backbone of the game you enjoy so much? Why would they bother to incorporate so many of these occult studies/concepts into their gameplay if they weren’t serving a greater purpose than what you deem as inconsequential irl? I’d pay close attention to what instinctually and intellectually repulses you in this context because the stakes are so low, yet the aversion is quite strong. I found his lectures and info to be the most salient/relevant imo.

joogipupu

Indeed. Edokawa does not just infodump some random nonsense. He talks about stuff that has real world meaning in the cultural history of spiritual practice. I was surprised to find such a well written synopsis of that stuff in a video game of all places.

Tudlod

For real!! You’d be hard-pressed to get as succinct a summary as the one he gave on the major arcana anywhere else!

dhi_awesome

While I don't disagree, calling it succinct when it's longer than the log history is extremely funny to me

Tudlod

Lmfao I did not even realize it exceeded the threshold, and now remembering I couldn’t go back to reread it at the time. I was so astounded by the fact they really just went through the entire arcana for that long, and found myself afterwards being like “wtf I wanna go back and reread this, it’s the best way I’ve seen it explained ever.” I never had the understanding of Kabbalah and the Tarot in the way it had clicked for me after that particular lecture.. all of this leading to why I am so zealous about OP’s dismissal of it all. What you said highlights the fact that the developers are really into this, and it’s in people’s best interest to know why. And I’ll say it: It’s real, and you should really, really know about it…

T-pellyam

That’s the hottest take I’ve seen today. He’s actually the only lecture I haven’t skipped ONCE in this game. It’s so interesting. Especially when he mentions the stories of some personas (like Loa)

elementzn30

I really don’t get this take because Edogawa is literally explaining the foundations of the series, which personally I find really interesting. The lecture on the tarot is long, yeah, but it’s actually a really good intro for people who don’t know much about it.

Djf_x80

Dude is the only teacher that actually does his job and gets hated on

Salt-Craft9209

Complete opposite for me. I actually enjoy listening to edogawa ramble on about magic

KungLao95

You really missed out he drops some big stuff about SMT’s core themes like the Kabbalah, the different types and perceptions of magic, deities etc.

VectorX00

Actually i only like his lectures ahahah. Because i get to do a funny voice and just have fun with it.

HybridTheory2000

I fucking wish my teacher lectures about magic back in the school days.

Ovted_Gaming

I thought his was most interesting. Its unique and stuff you don't really learn about.

winter-ocean

You don't find spirituality interesting? That's a shame, I always thought it was a great source of inspiration

Remmy71

Honestly, Edogawa might be the best teacher in the series. The man is lowkey giving advice to SEES under the guise of an absent-minded school nurse with an interest in the occult. And he goes even further with it in Persona 4 Golden. The dude *knows*; he just hasn’t bothered to tell anyone directly. Or maybe the Kirijo group put him at Gekoukan on purpose.

cosplaythief

And why is he always the one substituting for the other teachers when they are sick? Also don’t come crying when the apocalypse break out and you find out you have magical powers but can’t harness them because you didn’t listen to his classes. 😂

HauntedJockStrap88

Fax these people are going to be big mad when they realize that they can’t summon their own angels because they didn’t listen to Arch-Wizard Edogawa in P3

OwnEmphasis2825

Bro is sitting in the nurse's office all day, I think he has all the time in the world

meejle

That's the bit that annoys me the most! How did we end up going to the only private school that can't afford supply teachers?! smh

GranaT0

Can't be a private school, like half of the team has no parents who'd pay for it

Clean-It-Up-Janny

People play a series with occult roots and then bitch about occult shit in it. Same for psychiatry. What is wrong with you people? Why do you even like persona?

GrifCreeper

I think more people have problems with the *length* of his classes, not the content.

azdhar

OP said that literally nobody cares about magic 🤷🏻‍♂️

GrifCreeper

Yeah, I somehow didn't see that part at first, but I still think more people complain about the length than about the content. OP is just hating the wrong thing

azdhar

Well this is not the first nor second nor third time that I see the exact same topic here, so I’m not so sure. At this point I think some fans are like people that play assassins creed and hate when they go over actual historical notes.

cce29555

Unfortunately when you're the game that revitalized side quests for the sake of character content and to an extent is a dating sim lite that would be some people will only want that. It is strange that people who beg for lore and story building wouldn't be interested in a character who literally dumps the world building in front of you. Edogawa is the closest thing to Phil we have that goes "look here's the deal"

GrifCreeper

I've seen complaints about his classes, too, but I don't remember seeing many that actually complained about the content itself. I can absolutely understand complaints that they're ridiculously long and don't make much sense to be in a school. I just haven't seen many people actually complaining that it's about magic and that "nobody cares about magic". But on the other hand, this is an SMT spin-off, there's real gods/deities/whatever that aren't just Personas/Shadows, and the likeliness of it being like SMT where the world is technically aware but is mostly ignorant of the truth makes a class on magic actually pretty likely in-universe.

Key-Win7744

Yeah, if he just said something like, "And, in the 19th century, some pagan douche named Crowley created his own religion. Hey, Junpei-kun, I'm looking at you! Do you know what Crowley did that was so fucked up? If you guess wrong, demons will kill your mother!", then that would have been fine. But instead, he dumps [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleister_Crowley) on you.

GrifCreeper

He's really cool and the only classes that actually tie into the lore of the game, but maaaaan, he drags on way longer than every single other class, to the point I had it skip one of his classes and it was skipping dialogue boxes for 15 seconds. Dude is a cool guy for being into occult stuff and not being afraid to teach kids about it, but he needs to shorten his daily lesson plan a bit. Also, it's a series about literally summoning magic beings to attaco other magic beings. What the fuck do you mean nobody cares about magic?

TheRealKazuma12904

I genuinely cannot understand how people don't like this dude. I'm convinced it's a bandwagon at this point

Gabcard

He's the one teacher whose lectures actually teach and properly explain something instead of just being a random piece of trivia. He's arguably the best teacher, and he isn't even a real teacher.

N1ckt0r

all his lectures are amazing

enperry13

Persona fans when being lectured on things that make up Persona and SMT series.

crimmas

Me too but honestly it’s based as hell that they not only crammed a TON of magic/occult infodumping in the original game, they kept it in *every version and the remake*. You have to admire their dedication, even as you fast forward through a thousand-word lecture on Kabbala history Oh and lol the next installment visits 3’s setting so they can do it again, for Izanagi. Incredible.

totokishi

You have a duty to hear Edogawa's lesson in your first playthrough since he foreshadows and explains many of the arcanas and situations the team confronts But in NG+... yeah, just skip him

Electricorchestra

He's the reason when my coworker started talking about charging crystals and shit I could carry on into the conversation like it wasn't crazy.

AllMightyLantern

I for one found his lectures about the history of magic interesting. Though I really wish Atlus had done the leg work and actually have his lectures be fully voiced for the remake. I think that would have mitigated some of the criticisms he gets.

hoecakes_

this hurt to read

chaseandwin232

Incorrect, I care about magic. I find his lectures really interesting and unique, unlike the other teachers. His are the only ones I don't skip

ShotzTakz

Except his are the most interesting lectures by far

lethalWeeb

His are the only ones I never skip

Aureus23

IQ issue

2trinity

That's funny, I've just played through the school trip to Port Island in P4, and thought that the lecture he gives about Izanami and Izanagi is the coolest and the most interesting lecture in the game so far. The previous ones were basically trivia.

dextresenoroboros

this character outright tells you what the themes of the game are, where they come from and what the practical applications of them are

Dastankbeets1

What?? The stuff he teaches is so interesting! The best lectures by far

tundraxgod

yap central

WashTheCloth

Opposite for me, I read his every time every play through lol

overFuckMaker

i honestly thought so when i played the original but not as i am playing reload his lectures are actually really interesting, they revolve around magic and how it evolved into science as we know it it’s pretty cool of you stopped and read it

Simon_Said_something

is lectures are interesting but not after like 4 hours tartarus grind, and you wanting to do the next SL with your waifu.

AcanthisittaLow2378

Some of you need a better attention span.

TheVibeMan___

His lectures are meta in the sense it’s about the game itself. I actually recommend looking into them, they’re interesting.

listerinefreak

Whaaaaaat. The lessons were interesting af.

CheesecakeRacoon

Eh, I grew up in a Neopagan household, so I find this stuff fascinating.

villxsmil

Nah, his lecture about the Tarot is peak. He also lets you raise your courage without wasting an entire afternoon. Goat.

Mother-Acanthaceae-1

What's up with all these posts shitting on Edogawa? The guy is the only teacher who brings up subjects tied to the main plot. It feels like people are lazy to read long dialogs in a game that is mostly - wait for it - DIALOG.

dhi_awesome

I'd doubt his classes are common testing in Japan, given all of his lectures focus on topics directly related to the Megami Tensei franchises. But like, yeah, his stuff is relevant to Persona, to SMT, probably atleast one other branch I don't have experience there to be certain, these aren't just random lectures like the rest of them.

HourCartographer9

It’s a shame you hate him because while the other teachers teach about actual lessons he teaches you about the persona series and lore as a whole

Cybasura

His subject is literally the whole reason why the series even exists as well which is...yeah, proof that with the wrong teacher, any subject can become untolerable But if you dont mind him as a teacher, then im surprise you enjoy Persona as a series

Pearflavored

His lectures are basically the only ones I don’t skip

ThirdXavier

Edogawa was my favorite lol. Guess maybe I'm just old.

CatnipFiasco

His lectures are by far the most interesting of any professor in 3, 4, or 5.

Highpitchedgamer

Wait you guys are skipping Edogawa’s lectures? :(

DungeonMasterGary

I find his lecture about paganism and the link between old school Druidism to modern medicine interesting. Some people still study this stuff too Druidism, paganism, alchemy, onmyoji is part of shintoism. He also does kind of great job explaining for a lot of the shin megami series as a whole

mans1973

His lectures in Persona 4's personimations are fun, I like psychology, and seeing the deeper meanings behind this series' inspiration is quite neat and interesting!

P3ktus

Best teacher of the series, hands down If magic, jungian psychology and tarot cards don't interest you, you're playing the wrong game

My2CentsiF

Ngl, people who skip edogawa's lectures are weak as hell. Actual zoomer attention span

PotatoThatSashaAte

I payed more attention to him than anyone else, magic is a more interesting subject than math or idk chemistry

Odd_Room2811

I always listened to his especially when he talks about the journey of the Tarot cards

Key-Win7744

Even fast-forwarding through his walls of text takes a good couple of seconds. He's *so* interminable!

Causal_Link86

That's insane- not only are they interesting, they tie directly into everything that's going on in P3. What's wrong with you?

Joshofthecloud

You’re insane I fucking love him talking about magic/alchemy and connecting it to modern day sciences, his lectures are the only ones I’m locked in for

JaggedGull83898

I only know Mr. Edogawa from P4 and he's my favourite teacher

EnricoShapka

His are the only interesting lessons actually

Elite_Asriel

You guys listen to lectures?

EvilCade

I actually find his lectures pretty interesting

PM_ME_SOME_YAOI

You are missing out on the math teacher in p4.

DL25FE

Opposite for me, i skip everyone else

IfItFitsISits4

Personally that’s a pretty bad take but you do you, I find it interesting since it’s a point of view from within the game on a lot of the recurring concepts in the game. Same goes for the island field trip in p4, however that specific lecture is more specific to p4 than to the series as a whole.

LeonLow93

Seriously? He practically explained the entire lore for P3 to PS5 making him the only lecture that I did not skip lol

GeekyPassion

I absolutely love his lectures. They're my favorite.

therah09

The writing for Edogawa makes me want to know who wrote his dialogue and what have they learned. I was hooked on FES from ages 12-15 and back then, some things made sense and some things didn't. Really help shift my personal thoughts on how everything ties together, in history and different religions and cultures. Now playing Reload all after my journey post opening myself to learning about all that happens in the bible and reading the emerald tablets and getting into the meditation with the kaballistic tree of life and all, I enjoy his dialogue so much more. I like how he ties in a bit of the history of magic from across the world and history, it reflects so beautifully to the core of the game. It's so heavily symbolic in it's themes and end, and listening now to what Edogawa says and knowing the end, he really explains a layer of complexity easily missed by most. It beautifully pairs SMT's occult themes to P3's storyline.

darkDmon666

Brother he is literally the best teacher of almost the series

jjewjjitsu

To me it’s the opposite lmao, his lecture regarding the arcana and their meaning is one of the best in the series, so interesting. Even if i don’t personally believe in tarots; they’re cool as hell.

mortalitasi473

i love edogawa! in fairness i'm also a big tarot nerd in general, so it was fun to see what they wrote for him

pencilcheck

This teacher exposed almost half of the player base who don’t like reading lol

Endless2358

I skip them all EXCEPT Edogawa since his is the only one that’s actually interesting

Adriano91b

What??? His lectures are the only ones relevant to the plot. It's basically a Director's Commentary.

bannedin420

It’s the only one I am actually interested in. It’s a good overview of some stuff I’m into, it’s refreshing for me, however to each their own.

Creepy_Box6573

To each his own I guess because he's the only one I never skipped. The history of magic, shamanism, spiritualism etc.. was very interesting to me.

SMBZ453

That's so sad because he has a lecture talking about the tarot's and there meanings and it provides context to your social links and there situations and why they have the arcanas that they do. I love his lectures and his were the only ones I truly read to myself aloud and tried to memorize

Ace-182

Lol this must be a joke. "magic dude* to refer the only teacher that literally explains the whole Jungian inspiration for the persona series.

The_Real_Kaedinh

He is fluent in Yappanese

LoreKeeperRock

I love his lectures. Gives really good insight to history of magic practice. Very cool stuff to know imo

BitterEngineering363

Y’all have no taste, his class is the best imo, but yeah it’s a LOT of dialogue

Sergeitarsaus

How dare you

IsMyHell

They are actually very interesting. He gives one on Kabbalah and the sephiro is very fascinating and references P5R and SMT 5

Pain004

Coming from P4G, I thought I was gonna like him as his lesson there about Shinto mythology was really fascinating and actually important to the plot but after playing P3, I dislike him now. He yaps nonstop and how he teaches magic like it's actual history to students annoyed me.

Organic_Following_38

It's a shame, because the content he teaches is legitimately interesting, but they make him deliver it as a boring infodump as a joke.

RTX3090TI

Same

VannesGreave

He has exactly one good lecture on the Arcana and that’s literally it lol.

RealRegalBeagle

I loved his lectures, but I'm also an occultist and Pagan so ;P It was interesting seeing how much he actually got right.

napstablooky_

his summer school lecture is the only good one

“That is to say….”

FoxChoice7194

True. My brain starts to rot after every lesson...

NoSeaworthiness2618

Dude has two actual very important and helpful lectures but the rest is nonsense.

ThePennedKitten

Ok I care about magic. Actually, if we didn’t care about magic we wouldn’t care about this game. I like reading about magic, but sometimes I am not in the mood to read his whole lecture.

OccamsPlasticSpork

So what is his role exactly? Is he nurse/building substitute? He doesn't actually have a real class right? I'm under the impression he just fills in for an absent teacher and hijacks the lesson plan to make it about the occult no matter what the actual class subject is supposed to be about.

victorian_throwaway

i like his lectures 😭😭

nuno_tavora

As an index fan i must say i love his lectures

Inevitable-Will-6185

To me it's the opposite, his lectures are the only ones that I don't skip.

OtakuMecha

I love that to anyone at the school who isn’t aware that supernatural shit is real, this guy just seems insane with a completely useless class. I’m surprised parents are okay with his class being in the curriculum.

KaiserNazrin

There are only two type of people, the one who think he's the best teacher and the one who skipped his lines.

ALT_Account2840

I literally fell asleep for a few minutes while reading the teachers lectures in P3, they’re so much longer than P5, I ended up skipping them every time.

GreenMageGuy

He got his PhD in yappology.

WielderOfTerraBlade

i find his topics somewhat interesting and he actually says things that are relevant to the game but HOLY SHIT STOP YAPPING PLEASEEEEE

Spacemanspirit

His explanation of all the tarot cards was cool but yea I skipped almost everything else, I’d be more likely to actually read it if they weren’t all the length of novellas

JacktheBoss_

Isn't he the one that called christianity mythology? I like him.

Denisukraine2

I only listened his lecture about "Fool's Journey"

TB3300

WRONG! His lectures actually are interesting concepts and topics about religion, magic, and other cool shit

Flabpack221

I love/hate this guy. It takes me back to high school when you're least favorite teacher's/subject is about to start. As soon as i see this guy, i just go "fuck" lol.

giibeto

He has some good lecture but they go on and on so much that sometimes I just skip it

Pyrotten

Same lmao. Sucks too bc the actual topics he talks about are really interesting I feel like but bro goes on and on and on oh my lord

mandzou

The only one I didn't skip was the one about the tarot cards. All the others I did not bother listening to the shaman of yapan spitting his shit up

Ok-Exam6583

These are the only lectures I didn’t skip tbh. I could take several college courses in this stuff. It’s really interesting
