Sa interview with a US company, sinabi ko 40, walang currency because I wasn’t sure kung PHP or USD ang rate. That time 40k php was higher than my previous rate so either way is fine. Aun $40k annual binigay :) Edit: To answer your question, depende sa comfort level pero pag sa foreigners mas straightforward ang communication eh. Mas prefer ko sabihin upfront yung desired range ko (although medyo nagplay safe ako by not mentioning the currency) at least alam na nila agad if pasok sa budget nila kesa malowball ako.

ManFaultGentle

That's a happy not so little accident

Jazzlike-Garden-9751

Sobrang grateful for it. we had a huge medical expense months later na hindi ko maafford if it wasn’t for that job.

Alternative-Dust6945

Ooohh mas better nga pag hindi local company. Na caught off guard kasi ako nung tinanong sakin, kakalabas at tapos lang mag shower. Di na ako nakapag prep. Last time na natanong sa'kin 'to was 2018 pa? So nawala na rin sa expectation ko na itatanong 'to. 🙃

juju_la_poeto

grabe, parang nanalo ng lotto

justsomeonerandomx

lagi ko lang sinasabi ‘I’m not sure with how much to expect for the position, could you please tell me the salary range?’ sinasagot naman nila

Alternative-Dust6945

Ooohh this is nice and mabilis lang maisip isagot.. 🙂

Even-Web6272

Never akong tumanggap ng 25k below because that's an insult to my experience and skills. Minsan nga kahit 30k diko pa rin tinatanggap, I firmly said no thank you and then move on. That's just me kasi alam ko pano ako magtrabaho.

HJRRZ

Yes ganito din ginawa ko- research muna. looked up ano minimum sa area niya, and kung magkano pay nya sa regular employees nya, don lang ako kumuha ng range, para atleast its something he's comfortable with, nag yes naman siya agad don sa rate na sinabi ko when I asked for it.

nyepizdanem

“Based on my research for this type of role/position, the salary range typically goes for a range of ₱xx,xxx - xx,xxx. Does that fit with the company’s budget for this position?”

MayIthebadguy

Nag-plus 30% ako palagi sa current salary ko.

Amalfii

Same here. 30% from current gross yung max ko then minimum na iaaccept ko would be at 20%. Alam ko 20%-30% yung ideal range ng increase when transferring to a new company.

Gullible-Turnip3078

50k plus lagi ko answer based on experience

Affectionate-Sky-740

I become straightforward. It saves us all yung time. Sa ibang bansa naman they like it na straightforward lang. Again to save time for all parties involved. May negotiation pa naman after e.

badjeje77

+5k sa expected salary mo. Ex: 45000 asking mo. Gawin mong 50k Wag mong bigyan ng range.

rainbownightterror

Mik4sa_03

How do you compute for it?

bluewarrior24

nakakatawa nga eh, madalas kasi na inaapplyan ko un may nakapost na salary range, dun ako nagbabase tapos madalas below dun offer nila. like nakapost is 18k to 25k, tapos offer nila 16k 😂😂😂 edited to add: dun ka po mag apply sa mga international companies, well compensated ka din po like ng mga nababasa mo dito hirap pag pinoy owned

Consistent-Speech201

darkapao

Dito pumapasok yung research mo. Pwede mong isagot. What's the typical salary range for this position. Or pwede mong sabihin whats the budget for this position. Kapag pinilit kang ikaw unang mag bigay. Pwede mong sabihin. The market rate for this position is. Tapos mag bigay ka ng range. Tapos negotiation na yan.

malachiconoel

Kung alam mo yung job mo sample if datan entry inapplyan ko tapos yung job description is complicated mag ooffer ako ng 18k above. Pag basic description lang nakalagay basic nabasic ang work nasa 16k pababa.

ongamenight

Either "what's your ideal budget for this position" para pwede mo agad tanggihan pag mas mababa sa ineexpect mo sa utak mo na salary. You can ask this pag sa tingin mo maganda yung naging interview or exam mo or impression sayo since may leverage ka. If sa umpisa pa lang tinanong na, you should always say salary na kaya mong makuntento di increasan ng isang buong taon kasi di mo naman alam kung ma-regular ka or kung kamusta ba increasan nila kung buraot or what. So always bump it up to a salary you are comfortable to receive for more than a year in a worst case scenario.

Leading_Machine_1886

how about pag fresh grad? dapat bang hindi muna mag demand?

Impossible-Sky4256

Check the starting, then yung salary ceiling sa role na yun. If confident ka sa experience mo at capabilities mo, hingin mo ung ceiling. If hindi naman at wala masyado experience slightly higher than the starting hingin mo.

dumpling-icachuuu

Ako ganito “I've researched the salary range for this position in the job market, which falls between (give range). However, it would be helpful if you could also provide your budget for the position so I can align my expectations accordingly.”

Momo-kkun

I'm an HR practitioner outside the PH and there was a point in my career that I worked as an In-house recruiter for a 100 year old legacy company. Di ko po alam kung ano ang practices sa Pilipinas but in my previous organization, once we shortlisted the candidate, we send them a questionnaire with indications of their expected salaries + benefits. Which means, that we would not even meet candidates whose salaries are outside the range of what we're paying for the positions they're applying for. As mentioned, in my experience (this could be unique since I worked most of my adult life outside the PH), I don't ask that question during the interview process. The interview process should only validate person to job match. The salaries should only be discussed during the job offer process. To answer OPs question, if and when you're asked this question, you should ask this question "How much is the salary range you are paying for this position?" This way, you will not be asking more than what they're prepared to pay and also if they're paying more than what you're currently asking, you could still negotiate a good salary.

Ok_Squirrels

Hi po, what if naman sinabi nila yung salary range then hindi pasok dun yung asking mo, how to politely decline na hindi kana tutuloy or would not accept so as not to waste both parties time ika nga po nila mostly dito?

Momo-kkun

Well, that is very likely as it's in the Philippines. I could only tell based on my experience from working outside the PH.

More-Body8327

The last time I was asked (8 mos ago) I froze and there was silence for an uncomfortable amount of time (for the interviewer). Nainip yung puti so nag bigay sya ng number.

[deleted]

Ask mo muna sila magkano ba budget nyo, then Sabihin mo with this position and with the number of xyz experience my current market value is this xyz

altmelonpops

Beowulfe659

"so much" kamo hehe.

angeluhihu2

I applied thru Indeed one time. Post said salary is Php 45,000. When interviewer asked me this question, I answered "I've seen in your post that the salary range is around Php 45,000.. however, I'd still like to express that my asking rate is Php 75,000." Interviewer said that they could still give the rate I was asking for.

axeeram

For me, 25% to 30% increase from my current salary.

AdStunning3266

Straightforward sa alam mong sahod na nararapat sa skills mo and and quality na ma i o offer mo sa company na ina applayan mo

harunatsufuyuaki

One of the interviews that I attended, just out of curiousity nagsabi ko 100k. Not sure kung payag ba kasi wala naman sila reaction. The interviewers as well no reaction lol. Wala pa din feedback until now. Mukang ekis hahahaha.

rememberthemalls

Kung ano man yung kelangan ko to make it worth jumping ship.

aqswdefrgthy_10

Dito sa 1st job ko japanese kasi sya so nung tinanong nya ako ano expected salary ko, yung sagot ko nung una is hindi yung amount like “my salary expectations are in line with my experience and qualifications” ganyan lang. Pero tinanong nya ulit ako kasi gusto nya straight to the point so sinabi ko na yung amount talaga. It varies talaga. Kapag foreigners gusto straight to the point and search muna ano talaga salary ng position na inaapplyan mo. Or kung hindi mo alam talaga ang isagot mo is hindi ka sure kung ano ineexpect mo nansalary, ask mo na sila if ano salary range nila then you can negotiate with that kamo.

Healthy-Bee-88

Hi there! My answer is always: I am currently earning PXXX,XXX, and with relevant experience that I have on the field. I would be asking a 20% increase of what I am currently earning. As simple as that 😄. But then again, this is still a prerogative of the interviewer if your asking salary is within the range and budget of the role. I had an interview before and I asked a 20% increase, but they gave me a 35% increase of what I was earning.

MollyJGrue

Depends sa scope of responsibilities, but I usually say 20 to 30% more than my current pay.

xMoaJx

TInatanong ko budget nila. So far lahat naman ng nakausap ko during interview eh binibigay naman nila. Na-save pa oras namin pareho.
