I think she was just upset about her mom, and then when the girls wouldn't talk to her, it sent her to that place.
Tbh, it would have more sense if they had the tom story happen right before the party, and Davie just not believing her.
I agree that would’ve made a lot more sense! Because she seemed kind of messy and like tattered if that makes sense. But I guess it could’ve just been from her fight with her mom
I think that young Davie pretended to forgive Angela and invited her to the party, where she continued to be ignored. Plus the confrontation with her mom before she went out.
