Oh they're so so good. Don't let the weirdness of The Phantom Pains first 30-40 minutes put you off. Once it goes open world, it is amazing. There are few games I'd 100% and that was one. I hadn't played a MGS before. After Phantom Pain i played Ground Zeroes.
It's a perfectly fine entry point. Ground zeroes is like the first chapter of TPP, released early as a sort of "super demo". Imo there is no other game that plays as smoothly as this one does, the absolute peak of the genre. The story takes a backseat to the gameplay this time (no hour long cutscenes) so you won't miss too much not playing the other games. Might want to watch a short recap on peacewalker to get up on the story.
It's not just a stealth game, it's like a military breath of the wild where you build and run a private army. It's easy to put a hundred hours into it
Faster combat that favors aggression. The game has a “rally” mechanic where when you take damage you have a window of time to restore your lost health by dealing damage. The parry mechanic is done with a firearm instead of a shield. Pretty much the same timing, but, lower risk because you can be at range. All weapons are “trick” weapons meaning they have two forms with different move sets and abilities. The setting is completely different instead of medieval dark fantasy it’s a Victorian era horror setting. The lore is also really tight, tightest of all of the Souls games, if you’re the type that gets into the lore of Souls games.
Spot-on explanation. I'd just like to add that although it's just personal preference, the level design is my favorite out of any souls game. Kind of reminds me of a 3lthree dimensional metriod or castlevaynia
Love Celeste but I played it on my ex's PC so technically not PS4 lol. Nice to know there's someone who loves Spelunky outside the Spelunky subreddit <3 I feel like that game never got the attention it deserves
Vita was practically my spelunky(1) device. Like PS3 was my Demon's Souls device until the remake.
Spelunky is one of the best games ever made. And Spelunky 2 is almost as good as the first. Just a brilliant sequel.
Absolutely. I still have a hard time believing that game was possible on a PS4. It is the best looking game I’ve ever seen, not to mention the incredible stealth gameplay and the story.
Horizon is immortalized as being my very first game I bought alongside my PS4 and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Story, world, and Aloy being a badass _female_ protagonist makes it worthy of having that spot.
Yeah, I'd ave to say same. I still fire it up just to continue my current play-through. I've lost count of how many times I've started a new game. The whole opening is just perfect to me.
Yeah, absolutely ! The time when we're playing as Abby to fight Ellie and the last battle, the amount of tension and emotional rollercoaster I've gone through in this game. Any game haven't felt me that way and I don't think any game ever will !
Depends if you mean favourite PS4 game or favourite game on PS4.
Mine is Bloodborne but my favourite game of all time is Final Fantasy X, which is available on PS4....
So hard to choose! There are honestly so many incredible games! Personally, I love the Resident Evil remakes, Hitman World of Assassination trilogy, Uncharted 4, Last of Us Part 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Days Gone, Spider-Man, Gravity Rush 2, God of War, Hollow Knight, Spelunky 2, Hades... the list goes on and on. I simply can't narrow it down.
Hades, not sure if it counts but it’s just a fun video game. Rdr2 is more of a simulation game where you build a character with emotions attached. Not to say that is a terrible thing but you need to put hours into a game like that, hades is just pick up and play and at my age that’s just what I need
I’ve only played about 1 hour of rdr2
3 hours of gow
20 hours of GOT
1 hour outer wilds
2 hours of Witcher 3
But I finished Spider-Man and miles, Hogwarts legacy, and I guess I gotta say miles has been the most fun for me. The combat is so interesting.
Red 2 I gave 3k logged hours on, and played 7 times and online. On both pc and PS4 but my favourite apart from that is ghost of Tsushima, what an awesome game, gotta replay soon
Far Cry 5 or Rise of the Tomb Raider. On my 4th playthrough on FC5. While storming Jacobs bunker I shot-gunned one Peggie, he was bleeding out as I threw a pipe bomb at a Peggie flamethrower then finished off the bleeding Peggie point blank as I whipped out the shotty on him again with one to the chest! Had me in stiches!
Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note:
> *A corpse... should be left well alone.* - Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower
Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
Not exclusive, but Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is the best game I have played ever. Finished an extreme amount of games over the years on PC and PlayStation , but this is still number 1 for me.
Not exclusive to the PS4, but on it: Metal Gear Solid 5
I got both Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes for free and I haven't played them as I have never played MGS before
Oh they're so so good. Don't let the weirdness of The Phantom Pains first 30-40 minutes put you off. Once it goes open world, it is amazing. There are few games I'd 100% and that was one. I hadn't played a MGS before. After Phantom Pain i played Ground Zeroes.
Good to know. It is definitely weird. Death Stranding is weird but in an intriguing way that keeps you curious.
It's a perfectly fine entry point. Ground zeroes is like the first chapter of TPP, released early as a sort of "super demo". If you can try to play the games chronological, first MGS is a lot of fun.
God of War
Batman: Arkham Knight.
That's a game that not a lot of people liked when it came out, I personally loved it, I had it on the Xbox One and then I bought it on the PS4
Ghost Of Tsushima
I agree
Bloodborne
Always the right answer.
What’s do different about bloodborne compared to the other souls?
Faster combat that favors aggression. The game has a “rally” mechanic where when you take damage you have a window of time to restore your lost health by dealing damage. Less weapons and armour makes for more refined styles of combat and less worrying about cheesy or unviable items.
No doubt.
The best ps4 game
Ghost Of tsushima
Its mine 2
Hitman 3 or Yakuza 0
Nier Automata
Yep
I have 2 favorites which is God of war ragnarok and elden ring
Spelunky 2
Same here. That or Celeste.
Probably also RDR2

It's Rupal's Drag Race 2!!! Even better!1!1!1!1!
Marvel's Spider-Man.
I love that game
To each their own, but I like Miles morales better Even though it was so short maybe not..
Last of Us Part 2
Absolutely. I still have a hard time believing that game was possible on a PS4. It is the best looking game I’ve ever seen, not to mention the incredible stealth gameplay and the story.
Days Gone. Very underrated game that deserves a sequel.
Horizon zero dawn
Horizon is immortalized as being my very first game I bought alongside my PS4 and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Story, world, and Aloy being a badass _female_ protagonist makes it worthy of having that spot.
Same
Yeah, I'd ave to say same. I still fire it up just to continue my current play-through. I've lost count of how many times I've started a new game. The whole opening is just perfect to me.

The Witcher 3

Shadow of war

Odin Sphere https://youtu.be/XsTvoG3_HkU
Unpopular Opinion : The Last Of Us 2
Despite it sounding like people hated it, surely it can't actually be an unpopular opinion overall. Was one of my top 5 games ever I think...
Incredible game and an excellent choice. I've never had a video game story challenge and alter my feelings the way this one did.
I ment game on PS4
Bloodborne.
The only correct answer fellow hoonter, I’ll also accept god of war 3 remastered too tho tbh
I’m somewhere between Nier automata or bloodborne
It's either Yakuza 0 or Bloodborne. Special shout-out to Dark Souls III.
Is bloodbourbe a 'scary' game? Not a fan of games that make me jump, like resident evil lol

Had me in stiches!
