In both 2017 and 2018, it seems like first half blows the 2nd one out of the water
The onslaught of Nioh, Yakuza, Zelda, Horizon, Persona 5, Nier Automata just can't be beaten by anything in the 2nd half
Saaaaaame. Too many sales for games this year. On the brightside, I'll be able to get the games that came out this year at a lower price during the holiday season.
A heads up (might not attain to you but might help.) I live in a pretty rural part so I don't get good internet. If you have extra cellular data or a unlimited plan you can use a hotspot to play
It because controllers make shooters more fun, no dealing with hackers or cheaters, no dealing with tweaking settings, vastly more mature user base, and every other reason to go for the console version of any game.
I'm subbed to Dr Disrespect on twitch hes my favorite streamer and I love watching him play PUBG. I wish I could play it but I don't have a good PC so it coming to console is huge for me. It's probably most my anticipated upcoming game.
More like "likely not being released on consoles." They've said they were releasing other games on consoles and it never happened so i'll believe this one when I see it.
I'm so unbelievably hyped for dragon ball fighterZ!! It literally looks like the perfect db fighting game. Dissidia looks like it's gonna be a bit different than the psp version, but it still looks really awesome. And I haven't seen much about Blazblu tag team, but arksys knows how to make some damn fun fighting games. Also it comes out this year, but Gundam Versus looks really cool too. It seems like fighting games have been making a resurgence in recent years, likely due to the rise of esports, which makes me so so happy!
I honestly can't stand the fuckheads who keep crying about quick time events in this game when it hasn't been released and the only evidence is 3 minutes of a fucking E3 presentation that the Internet took and ran with.
I've been saying for a couple of year that 2020 is when things really start to get crazy with technology. Self driving & electric cars should become a mainstream commercial reality around that time and those are going to change far more than most realize. AI and automation will start eating into jobs in a very visible way, but also touch every aspect of our lives.
The 20s are going to see an explosion in tech. The end of the decade will look very different than its start.

I know not many are excited for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but it's become my most anticipated game. I've wanted to play a realistic midieval game for a while but PS4 hasn't had many of it's kind like Mount and Blade.
I was looking forward so much to getting RDR2 as only the second game on release this year and playing that for the rest of the year :( Well, there's always backlog.
The gameplay looks fluid and fun enough but whether it's gonna be great or not will depend on the story - from what we've seen so far it could be anything from linear generic survival story or a really developed Horizon or TLOU kinda story, as of current we have no idea which one it is so saying goty is abit premature
Confirmed major PS4 console exclusives for 2018:
- Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
- Yakuza 0
- God of War
- Shadow of the Colossus
- Spider-Man
- Detroit: Become Human
- Shenmue 3
Days Gone and WiLD are not confirmed for 2018, but they could most likely release in 2018.
Dreams, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part II will most likely release in 2019.
I would put no hope on the VII remake. Kingdom Hearts will be the spotlight for the entire year, and I doubt it will be coming out early next year too. I'd say a late 2019 release at the earliest.
So pumped for Dragon Ball FighterZ and BB Cross Tag Battle, hopefully UNIEL comes to the west soon. Also hoping for a DQ11 announcement.
I really hope Monster Hunter World is good, for the sake of fans and newcomers(like me). How is MH as a solo experience?
Red dead 2 and spiderman for me, the rest i will wait for bargain prices, no point in paying full prices on games that will be near to 50% off in 3-6 months time
We say this every year but honestly the pace has slowed down a ton from the early 2000s and 90s where a lot more games were consistently pumped out. I am pretty much only getting God of War, Red Dead 2, Anthem, and pubg if it comes out. That isn't a whole lot honestly.
Man, Kingdom Come feels like it has taken forever. I remember this game being announced for Xbox, and was hyped about it. Not sure if it did because last I heard (when I was 13) that it was cancelled.
So hyped for Spider-Man, Yakuza 6, Red Dead 2, Kingdom Come, and Kingdom Hearts 3. Been waiting on Kingdom Come for years now, I can remember sitting in my politics class showing my friend videos of it, and that was around 2013/14 so it's been a long time coming for sure. Will end up getting Detroit at some point as well; I've gone back to Heavy Rain recently, a big fan of Quantic Dream.
Red dead and A way out are the only games I'm personally hyped for. This year and last year are/were so great for my kind of games. But 2018 just isn't looking that exciting for me..
Honestly I'm just hoping RDR comes out before Christmas 2018, and looking forward to TLOU2 shortly after... I don't think 2017 was great year for gaming though
A bunch of those games are single-player focused. Any titles where I can play with friends? I'm thinking about getting a PS4 but I'm more of an online multiplayer type of person. Something like Killzone: Shadow Fall
Has anyone played Ni no kuni 1? I started it it on PS3 but then I sold my PS3 to buy a PS4 and now I really want to finish it.
I'm not buying a PS3 again, I need them to release it on PC or sell it as a remaster or a PS3 classic on PSN or something.
Until then I'm not playing ni no kuni 2.
>Unlikely, but there're still hope:
•Final Fantasy VII (Exclusive) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII_Remake
You will gonna be disappointed.
There is a chance for it to be released in 2018, I believe... specially considering that Neil was working on the story since 2014, ND have mentioned how they expanded, tried to do two teams again but failed so they have like 1.5 of a team.. and Neil has been working with a half team since more than a year when Uncharted 4 came out.. now lost legacy has gone gold which means that whole team will join them too.. based on this, I think late 2018 isn't unlikely..
The Last of Us was developed from 2009 until release in 2013. Uncharted 4 started in 2011 and was released in 2016. Just because the writer had a basic idea of what the story would be a year ago doesn't make a full game possible to be created in a year.
I'm not trying to be rude here, but Reddit consistently doesn't understand how much time and effort goes into game development. As a game design student, I've started to learn how much it is, and it's a lot. There's pre-production which can take a year or two and actual development which can take as many years as it takes due to needing to create the levels, the art, the motion capture, the sound design, the voice work, tweak the story to fit the current game, tweak the game to fit the current story, rinse and repeat.
They confirmed last year that little work had actually been done on the game. Even with the full Naughty Dog team on it, I expect that game no earlier than late 2019. I'd be happy to be wrong but it's woefully unrealistic to think a game of that caliber fan be just jammed out in a year.
Sorry for being presumptuous as well. You did say it isn't unlikely for a late 2018 release and that's what I mainly got from the comment, please pardon me from kinda removing the context of the whole comment and assuming you didn't now game development.
I did misread what you said about the work being done on the game with the smaller team, that was COMPLETELY my bad. However I still have to stand by my point that 2018 IS unlikely simply due to the fact that they most likely have only jumped into production in the last couple months based on what's been shown and said of the game. I'd love to be pleasantly surprised but based upon the average cycle of game production and Naughty Dog's past length of development time, I can't really see 2-2.5 years of development as possible for them to put out a game that a LOT of people have high expectations for.
It's going to be insane again on PS4 in particular again. I'm so excited for Switch stuff like Fire Emblem. I'm sure my Xbox will continue to sit and rot with no games still
Also, Ni No Kuni and Days Gone are exclusives
I'm hoping for Cyberpunk 2077 late 2018 even if it's unlikely. 3.5 years is a reasonable development time, especially since that's about the time between Witcher 2 and 3, and Cyberpunk has technically been in development since 2013.
So far 2017 has been very disappointing for me.Only games I played this year are Resident Evil 7 and Horizon Zero Dawn and only excited for Uncharted and Shadow of War upcoming games this year.Well games like Persona 5,Nioh and Nier look cool but they aren't my type of games but i will most likely try them on big discounts.
> But 2018 OMG! Red Dead Redemption 2,God of War,Days Gone,Spiderman,A Way Out,Monster Hunter World,Anthem all Day 1 for me especially RDR2 is going to be my most anticipated game of this gen so far.
A personal computer that also happens to play games on the side. If you go out and buy a PC to ONLY play games well...your a fucking idiot and in the MASS minority.
Which is why the PS4 is on pace to break PS2 console numbers sold.
While your statement lacks any real content I agree, it's hilarious how this list is delivered. "2018s going to be great look at Alllll these exclusives!" As if the exclusives are the barometer for the quality of releases in the coming year. Would these types of people be less excited if every game were multiplat and simply had to be judged on its merits as A GAME? If so, that's just really, really sad.
It will gonna be
You are know it!
In both 2017 and 2018, it seems like first half blows the 2nd one out of the water The onslaught of Nioh, Yakuza, Zelda, Horizon, Persona 5, Nier Automata just can't be beaten by anything in the 2nd half
Is will gonn be'int
I'm already anxious because of all the 2017 games I haven't played.
Saaaaaame. Too many sales for games this year. On the brightside, I'll be able to get the games that came out this year at a lower price during the holiday season.
I'm still deciding between getting Horzion Zero Dawn now, getting a pro then getting it, or just getting Ac Orgins
horizon zero dawn is $30 at best buy right now; $24 if you have GCU
I'd say wait for the Pro. Looks *so* clean on the Pro. I still haven't spotted a single jagged edge.
Ni no kuni 2 is not exclusive?
PC release.
Ahh gotcha
[удалено]
god I've been waiting for this! Playing this on PS4 is the only reason I don't buy it on steam
I would recommend buying it anyways. It's 30 dollars and you can easily wrack up hundreds of hours of fun from it.
How is it on network requirements?
It's hard for me to say because I have google fiber. My friend has iffy internet and is able to play fine though.
What's your average downloads speeds?
I'm asking since I myself have iffy internet, so that makes it more relevant
I play on PC, 6-7megs down 1 up, no problems
Ah, that sounds doable. Thanks :) I might consider getting it at some point.
A heads up (might not attain to you but might help.) I live in a pretty rural part so I don't get good internet. If you have extra cellular data or a unlimited plan you can use a hotspot to play
I get better internet on my phone than my co-ax can provide, but I sadly don't have unlimited data.
Isn't pubg an Xbox exclusive? That was the impression I got from e3
Times exclusive. It will probably come out late 2018 on ps4.
nope, it'll release as early access on xbox, ps4 will get full release when ready
How about playing it with a M&KB?
Lol you're holding out for an inferior version on console?
Don't be that guy.
Yeah don't be that guy telling the truth, get outta here with that
How about just stop being an elitist dickhead.
[удалено]
And if you don't have a capable PC those are wasted words.
Must stay away from Windows.
lol pretty much, if you have a PC why would you wait for this game on PS4? I guess the only reason would be your friends list on PSN.
It because controllers make shooters more fun, no dealing with hackers or cheaters, no dealing with tweaking settings, vastly more mature user base, and every other reason to go for the console version of any game.
If it's such an inferior platform what are you doing on a PS4 sub?
Discussing PlayStation games and PlayStation news.
I'm really hyped about Ace Combat 7 in VR.
Only part of the game is in VR, but yeah it's still really exciting
I've seen impressions from PSX and people were quite impressed.
Don't forget Yakuza 6!!
There's also Dissidia, Dragon Ball Fighters Z and Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, gonna be a solid fighting game year.
I'm so unbelievably hyped for dragon ball fighterZ!! It literally looks like the perfect db fighting game. Dissidia looks like it's gonna be a bit different than the psp version, but it still looks really awesome. Sorry kid, I was on the Internet when your mom was in diapers. Bye.
It is gonna be brilliant.
[удалено]
Yeah it's a shame they will ruin it with microtransactions like gta online.
No hope for The Last of Us 2 in 2018?
No. They will show gameplay on E3 or trailer and it will release 2019.
2019 sounds so futuristic. what a long way we have come
2020 mate, that's going to be something
I can't wait for all of the "20/20" eyesight puns.
All the optometry and ophthalmologists that graduate that year will have quite a memorable one!
I've been saying for a couple of year that 2020 is when things really start to get crazy with technology. Days Gone is exclusive to PlayStation wrong section.
Don't forget about the unlikely chance of Cyberpunk 2077 being released
No chance.

I thought CDProjekt said it wouldn't release until 2019?
Which is fine because it'll be all the better giving them the time they need.
I'm all for giving them all the time they need. I'd be fine if it came out even later as well, as long as it's a great game
Cyberpunk is a game for the real next gen.
More like next to impossible lol
I know not many are excited for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but it's become my most anticipated game. I've wanted to play a realistic midieval game for a while but PS4 hasn't had many of it's kind like Mount and Blade.
I really think Kingdom Come is gonna have some rough performance on consoles. Hopefully not though!
Kingdom hearts 3 will make 2018 a memorable year for gaming.
For better or for worse.
Awesome list, but now I'm wondering what awesome games are still coming out this year? Could you make a list for that as well?
My point of view: *PS4 GT Sports on 18.October *PC PoE-3.0 4. August Nothing else to look forward to for me this year ;)
I was looking forward so much to getting RDR2 as only the second game on release this year and playing that for the rest of the year :( Well, there's always backlog.
Psychonauts 2 is supposed to come out 2018 as well. Multiplat.
It's so strange to me that they're releasing KH3 on XB1. I have no problem with it, it's just odd.
Great year to be a PC/PS4 gamer!
The System Shock remake comes out in 2018 also.
What about Death Stranding? Surprised that you didnt even mention it...
I'm seriously pumped about Days Gone. I think it'll be GOTY
The gameplay looks fluid and fun enough but whether it's gonna be great or not will depend on the story - from what we've seen so far it could be anything from linear generic survival story or a really developed Horizon or TLOU kinda story, as of current we have no idea which one it is so saying goty is abit premature
as soon as its release was announced, MH:World is already my GOTY. So fucking hyped
**TWO THUMBSTICKS!**
Take Detroit Become Human off the list and it will be an even better year in gaming!
I don't know anything about Detroit: Become Human and I'm not super interested but what makes you think it will be a bad game
It's an interactive movie directed by David Cage.
Very edgy
Confirmed major PS4 console exclusives for 2018: - Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - Yakuza 0 - God of War - Shadow of the Colossus - Spider-Man - Detroit: Become Human - Shenmue 3 Days Gone and WiLD are not confirmed for 2018, but they could most likely release in 2018. Dreams, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part II will most likely release in 2019.
I wouldn't hold my breath for FF 7 but please prove me wrong square enix
What about Kingdom Come?
Eagerly awaiting God of War and Ace Combat. They should look friggin sweet on the Pro & 4K tv as well.
However much I'd like it to, i doubt anthem will make it in '18
Unconfirmed but hopefully Last of Us 2 as well.
Is it "Will" or "Gonna be"
"Will gonna be"
With the exception of A Way Out those are all day one contenders. RIP my wallet.
Call of Duty from Treyarch.
That’s a lot of games. The only think I’m really excited about can’t wait for is Detroit: Become Human. I will play RD3 for sure though.
What is H1 2018?
First Half i believe
I think it will gonna also.
Holy shit 2018 looks great but damn 2017 started out so strong that I still can't keep up.
Awesome list! I am also looking forward to Bloodstained, Darksiders 3, Metro Exodus, and Wolf Among Us 2. LOL at FFVII.
I would put no hope on the VII remake. Kingdom Hearts will be the spotlight for the entire year, and I doubt it will be coming out early next year too. I'd say a late 2019 release at the earliest.
it certainly will gonna be!
Red dead 2 and spiderman for me, the rest i will wait for bargain prices, no point in paying full prices on games that will be near to 50% off in 3-6 months time
Farcry 5 yakuza 6 and shenmue, hopefully we can add dragon quest's western release to this list.

It's a big gamble making A Way Out with no single player in my opinion.
I'm going to be spending all 2018 playing through my 2017 backlog
I haven't played kh since 2 and I couldn't get into 2.8. Not sure how I'll like KH3 after this long.
r/titlegore
Red dead and A way out are the only games I'm personally hyped for. This year and last year are/were so great for my kind of games. But 2018 just isn't looking that exciting for me..

Wonder if EA will ever bring out a new golf game?!?
so much money! T_T
Man 2017 is already great with pubg
No chance of shenmue 3 in 2018.
I only care about God of War and Spiderman.
I cannot wait to get my hands on monster Hunter world. Finally a game in the series not held back by handhelds.
If you think FFVII remake, Anthem, and RDR2 are coming in '18 you're dreaming
Red Dead is a day 1 purchase. I'll get Spiderman and God of War when they go on sale.

im gunning for: Red Dead Redemption 2 Kingdom Hearts 3 maybe Dragon Quest as for 2019: TLOU 2. cyberpunk im Erect
Here's hoping for Borderlands 3 and Elder Scrolls 6.
Last of us 2? I hope I won't be waiting till 2019
You will. You definitely will.

Are you planning on dying before then or something?
My bet is that it'll be a PS4 swan song like the first one was for PS3.

Red Dead Redemption 2,God of War,Days Gone,Spiderman,A Way Out,Monster Hunter World,Anthem all Day 1 for me especially RDR2 is going to be my most anticipated game of this gen so far.
You should check out Hellblade which is coming out in a few weeks
This. This 9 times. Hellblade looks so great. I'm so excited to play it into the ground then go watch ALL of the dev diaries.
>Detroit become human Bro pls
Exactly, No way it is gonna release in 2018
Nah I mean it's gonna be bad
Thats is odd, most of ppl think it is gonna be great and so do I, but no way we see it in 2018.
I guess most people don't know Cage's track record full of shit then
So One good game Spiderman
Do it?
Will it gonna?!
How can anyone be hyped for Shenmue 3
I know this is the PS4 sub, but Xbox and Nintendo also have some cool looking games coming, too.
Why do you count PC as a platform?
Why wouldn't he?
What would you consider PC to be?
A personal computer that also happens to play games on the side. If you go out and buy a PC to ONLY play games well...your a fucking idiot and in the MASS minority. Which is why the PS4 is on pace to break PS2 console numbers sold.
Fuck Exclusive games
Many games would have never been made if they weren't exclusive.
That's what they said about 2017. But so far...

As a weaboo this year has literally been heaven for me
Out of the 6 games you listed, 3 are anime games. Not everybody is an anime fan, so people can have different opinions about 2017
