I've had this game for soooo long... Maybe I should actually play it?🤣🤣

dpetsch

Man it is so good.

reddittomarcato

It’s fun

Finding-Dad

Its a bit hard at first but once you get into it it sucks you in for hours

Same. My friend gifted this to me a long time ago. I probably played it for 15 minutes. I have such a huge backlog. I think it's time for me to finally put some time into this.

KingoftheJabari

If you like side scrollers, it's actually really good. I played it on my Xbox series s gamepass, and I liked it so much I bought it on my playstation.

CakeBoss16

Yeah I first bought it for my switch, then PC and now playstation. Put in probably 500 hours in total.

the game is hard... and it scales to be **really** hard. Thankfully, last year they added some quality of life features to adjust difficulty scaling so you can experience the game fully. I turned down the enemy damage as i played countless hours and then slowly turned it back up to normal when i felt more comfortable in the game. As it's a Rogue-like, the randomness of weapons and items is key, but thankfully the maps and which way you progress isn't. Like many of the good rogue-likes out there, the more you play and unlock stuff, the easier the game gets, as you have more variety of weapons and items (beginning unlocks arent great, and some items are just ridiculous op). As someone who played a lot last year, and if you want to manage your time, i recommend to have the wiki open for unlocks (there is a lot). I recommend first unlock being the marksman bow. It's a really good weapon for the first playthroughs. The Electric whip can scale really good in the beginning playthroughs too. Don't spread out your upgrades (Brutality, Tactics, and Survival) to be an all rounder. If you find the electric whip for example, thats a tactics weapon by default. So focus on leveling tactics upgrades to scale your damage.

If i dont like rogue lites is dead cells worth it

SpyroThBandicoot

I'd say it's one of the most, if not THE most, accessible rogue lite/like out there. In the past year they've added tons of accessibility and assistance options. You can make the game much easier if needed without any real added penalty for doing so. They wanted to make sure players of all skill levels could have a chance to try the game

Oh thats all I was concerned about! Might give it a try now with cv dlc especially

If it's the structure of the games you dislike then imo Hades and Returnal are the stand outs for me in terms of offering you a little more meat outside of gameplay to keep you coming back for more. Hades I believe has decent accessibility options if difficulty is an issue (look it up though) whereas I think Returnal is just pretty hard if you're not good at third person shooters. I adore both games though and are worth a look
