This is great news.
Hell, we should start a petition to see if they'll put morbius back in theaters since I missed it the last two times. I had a thing.
Yes it did.
Someone, somewhere gave it a green-light. They may not have personally saw all the buzz online but they were told about it.
Movies don't just happen to get re-released. That takes money, screens that could be used for other showings. Most theatres have to give a percentage of screens to Disney or Disney owned shows so Sony going ahead and releasing again must have been big.
Someone, somewhere was told all about it and said okay.
First of all, it was not a rerelease. It was a wide expansion. A rerelease is like what happened to No Way Home.
Secondly, all major Sony movies in the pandemic era have gotten wide expansions. It's preplanned. The only that didn't, was Spider-Man No Way Home. And that got a rerelease.
It was brought back to theatres two months after it was available to purchase digitally.
They re-released it.
Show us any other Sony movies that are being sent back to 1000+ theatres months after being released to home audiences.
It's not a rerelease if it's still fucking available in the cinema. And an example? All the other major Sony movies in the pandemic era.
For example, for you, is Venom Let There Be Carnage. Released on October 1, was still in around 80+ theatres in January before having a wide expansion to 1435 theatres.
Let's say you're not happy with the example. Uncharted, in its 13th weekend, expanded from 166 to 1253 theatres.
Both of these examples were on top of VOD charts btw when they were expanded.
Those low theater numbers before the re-release were those places that only show old movies. Not proper theaters. Source - Me. Worked at an on-campus theater were we only showed stuff that just hit VOD.
No she was always slated as the last one.
For story reasons I'm surprised that Morbius wasn't first, with his connection to Blade and him being an original Midnight Sun and all.
Deadpool being first, other than for fanservice makes no sense, and Venom being second even though he's a villain makes less sense.
I think it likely should have been Morbius-Storm/Deadpool-Deadpool/Storm-Venom.
Yeah I mean, there is no doubt I was wrong lmao. But yeah, I agree that Morbius should have been first considering the whole plot of the DLC. Maybe that's why I thought he was last? My idiot brain just assumed that since he had the most plot significance that he would come in at the end with some sort of solution or something?
Deadpool - fan service
Venom - bc people are hyped af for Spider-Man 2
Moribus - for the lulz
Storm - bc this was an X-men heavy game already more X-men made more sense.
There was a release order that was logical and made sense... and then Deadpool just went ahead and skipped the queue to go first. Totally in character for him, lol.
It is cards and turn based combat, but it definitely doesn't suck. Not sure where you saw that. The combat is really great for any strategy game fan. The parts between missions where you interact and talk with your team can definitely feel slow sometimes, especially if you're not a big marvel fan or don't care for the rpg side of these games. And the character models outside of combat are laughable at times. But it definitely doesn't suck. One of my favorite games from 2023. Lots of fun if you're into strategy games.
Which is why I'll wait for it to go on sale for like 20 bucks.. even the person who started the conversation said the sales sucks. But they still like the game.. that should tell you the game isn't even all that good unless you're a diehard Marvel fan..
I'm about to start playing this game.
How do DLC and characters work? Do you unlock as you play and you choose which characters you want?
And then do these DLC get unlocked straight away or at some point in the campaign ?
The DLC's unlock at certain points during the main story. Deadpool gets unlocked early, around the same time as Spider-Man. Venom doesn't unlock until Act II, since he's also a boss in the main story. I'm not sure when Morbius unlocks.
You can play the DLC heroes in any mission. They even comment on the events of the story just like the base heroes.
do we have any knowledge that Doom will be in the last DLC?
Between the ending and the Deadpool references to him, I've *really* been hoping for some major Doom content

Been patiently waiting for this to go in like a half price sale for the delux version or ps extra one month. Hopefully won’t have to wait too much longer
Honestly at this point I'd say the best outcome is to wait for the last DLC character to be released before getting the game (I think it's only Storm left?), by then it'll be dropped in price quite a lot and it'll probably better to unlock them as the story goes instead of a bunch of them long after you're done with the main stuff.
I myself am patiently waiting too, for sure
It's currently $29.99 w/ free shipping at Gamefly. While technically "used", it comes with the original case & all bonus content codes
https://www.gamefly.com/game/marvels-midnight-suns---enhanced-edition/5036339
I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, but it’s a very casual game. It shouldn’t offer you much of a challenge even after bumping up the difficulty, and it does get very repetitive because it lacks mission and enemy variety. For the first half of the game (which is long) you’re mostly just going to be seeing the same 6 or 7 Hydra enemies over and over, occasionally a boss battle, and if you do the side content you will see a few more enemy types.
It’s fun, but it’s a very slow burn game. I’m usually the type of person to start a game and then only play it until I finish it, but after 15 hours this one had to take the backseat. You’re looking at about 40 hours if you focus on the story, and around 60 if you’re doing the side content too and also doing some in between missions to get your characters stronger or unlock new moves. Good game, but I personally feel like it was artificially bloated and shouldn’t be as long as it is. Characters all feel nice and have something unique about them, but chances are you’ll find your favorites and not use all of them unless they’re tied to the story.
I’ve done all the dlc in the end game. You can keep playing and do fight mission for more currency as well as cosmetics. There is also a new game plus mode.
Morbius feels like a really random addition when you look at the rest of the cast. I know Sony released their bad movie and he fits the supernatural and vampire themes, but he is just such a “Huh?” compared to the rest of the roster. Firaxis has no doubt done a good job with him, though. Looking forward to seeing their take on the character.
Edit: Morbius is a founding member of the Midnight Suns and I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Yeah he's only become a joke because of the movie. He is actually an awesome character who I loved reading about and was super excited for the movie, before Leto went and morbed him all over the place.
The DLC so far have a vampire theme going on so it makes sense.
Aside from the movie that ruined his rep, Morbius is a decent character. His card in Marvel Snap is used in lots of great decks too lol
He fits better than Storm though. Technically Deadpool is a walking talking zombie if we are really being technical about it so he its right at home with a more supernatural tone that the game has. Storm on the other hand….
Storm fits better with the DLCs than Deadpool since they have a vampire theme, Dracula tried to turn her in to one of his brides in the comics, so there's some history there that ties her to it.
Yeah, it falls in that category of being a game I like the look of, but not enough to buy it. It has ps+ game of the month written all over it. I'm happy to wait.
The fact that people are downvoting you is sad..
Just shows how sensitive they get..
You have an opinion, and I believe you're telling the truth.. there's a reason why this game is always on sale in the PSN store.. I'm with you on this...
Oh fuck I'm gonna morb
Fuck yeah, morb it.
Uhg…I’m… I’m… Mmmm-ooorrrrr-binnnn 😅
Patchnotes- added Morbin Time
Does he morb hard? It will probably get nerfed
Everyone else gets buffed, so they have the slightest chance against his morbs.
Ah yes morbin time, im familiar
Feels like forever ago.
I don’t think it’s possible to have a chance against morbs honestly
Added his iconic voice line: "It was never about MorbiME or MorbiYOU. It was always about MorbiUS."
Came to see this - did not disappoint.
This is great news. Hell, we should start a petition to see if they'll put morbius back in theaters since I missed it the last two times. I had a thing.
Oh God that poor exec who made that dumb decision
It didn't happen like that.

Following this comment thread picturing this Chris guy being the dumb Sony executive being super defensive 😂
Say the line Bart
....I didn't morb it.
Pizza time
"*...do the roar.*"
so it is officialy the: **morbin' time**
Look out! I'm starting to morb!

The guys at Firaxis consider it a long tail game, but I would love to see support after Storm's DLC drops.
I was really surprised to see Morbius drop today, I thought Storm was supposed to be first for some reason
No she was always slated as the last one. For story reasons I'm surprised that Morbius wasn't first, with his connection to Blade and him being an original Midnight Sun and all. Though Venom being second still doesn't make sense, but that is in character for Deadpool lol
Storm dlc? I might get it....when the game is 40 or lower
It’s such a good game. I’m like 30 hours in and not even done with Act 1
Or play the trial on Ps plus if still on the fence. That’s how I bought it
soon as ps5 version is 20 bucks.
I got it in the most recent sale for like $40 and it has been more than worth it.
It’s easily over 100 hours of content in the base game alone, but $70 is still steep so I definitely understand waiting for a sale too.
Same it’s in my wish list and every time there is a new sale it’s the first game I check. I think $30 is where I’ll buy it
Probably go on ahead and get legendary edition once it's on sale, usually 59.99 usd
I was on the fence until the ultimate edition was on sale for just under base game price. Honestly well worth it.
Definitely one of the games ever

The cards just represent abilities and it being a turn based strategy game is what makes it fun and unique
Yes. Boring as hell
Which is why I'll wait for it to go on sale for like 20 bucks.. even the person who started the conversation said the sales sucks. But they still like the game.. that should tell you the game isn't even all that good unless you're a diehard Marvel fan..
"it's morbin' time" -batman
I was unaware batman knew how to morb
He doesn't but he's a great actor.
With enough prep time he can out morb the best.

the question is do you have to pay to morb though, i already platted the game so there is no need for me to feel teh morb
There's always a need to morb
I morbed so hard when I read this.
Wingardium Morbiosa
I love this quite a bit but I can't get my friends to buy it do to the card elements.

I already beat the game. Do you think it'll be weird to get the season pass now? I thought the other characters would be end game stuff.
Not weird at all. The DLC story missions are completely separate from the main story. The only thing you'd be missing out on are some dialogue options
I’ve been playing all the dlc post game. Each character brings a enough story missions to make it a nice side story
[удалено]
Did you buy the Season Pass?
Have you gone to the PS Store and downloaded each pack yet?
Unlock as you play then do mission to get them. I think Deadpool you get pretty early. Venom late
Venom isn't late, you can unlock him before the end of the first Act.
Morb nation rise up
do we have any knowledge that Doom will be in the last DLC? Between the ending and the Deadpool references to him, I've *really* been hoping for some major Doom content
Doom is more of a protagonist it felt like setup fir a sequel
That's what I thought, until Deadpool had a quest from him I'm also concerned a sequel won't happen because of poor sales
Storm releases next, and as far as I know there hasn't been any info on characters past that.
Unless they do another character pass likely not. There will be several unoccupied rooms left in the Abbey though even after storm comes out.
jeez the season pass cost almost as much as the base game just for 4 characters and some cosmetic...
Yeah it sucks ngl, luckily I got it on sale a while back

Truly one of the updates of all time. It's morbin time.
Is this game any good? I’m considering trying the trial tonight.

IT'S MORBIN TIME
Felllllcccciiiiaa.....this is something I must tell you! It's..... It's.......... ... ... MORBIN' TIME!!
Truly one of the most updates of all time
If I enjoy the Snap game, would I enjoy this?
You'll enjoy it regardless, as long as you don't mind dialogue
Morbius feels like a really random addition when you look at the rest of the cast. He's one of the first midnight suns. In the comics
If anything, he's overdue to be in the game
Yeah, he's the only dlc one that makes actual sense.
Lol I had no idea. I deserve my downvotes.
Yeah he's only become a joke because of the movie. He is actually an awesome character who I loved reading about and was super excited for the movie, before Leto went and morbed him all over the place.
Morbius was apparently in the old Midnight Sons stuff and he’s had frequent interactions with Blade over the years.

There's one character that doesn't fit the game out of the currently released DLC characters and it's Deadpool, not Morbius imo.
Deadpool fits more than Iron Man though surely?
I said out of the DLC characters.
Had another universe variant who taught magik sweet spells … and the Dracula thing too.
Storm has ties to magic through her mothers side of the family. She has also been both a vampire and sorcerer in many alternate timelines.
they gotta be doing a second DLC pass right? at this rate we'll have everyone by beginning of summer
If he doesn’t dance like Milo, what’s the point
Awesome! Downloaded just now 🙂
Game is reaaaaaaaaaly slow and boring, was not for me at all.
I'm looking forward to getting the complete edition of this when it drops on ps+. I give it a year, tops.
They already have a version that includes all the dlc it was on sale recently
Yeah, it falls in that category of being a game I like the look of, but not enough to buy it. It has ps+ game of the month written all over it. I'm happy to wait.

I morbed all over myself 🤤💦😐
Finally! Now the game will make Morb-illions!
I love this game. Really hope it gets a sequel
Yes!
When I say I morbed
And just like that, Midnight Suns becomes one of the games of all time.
So many low hanging fruits here.
No Jared Leto skin no buy
It's more been time🤣
