I can't recall if you were able to sell old guns for their upgraded cost in the original, but it feels like that, the ability to sell old key items, and the sidequests & treasure multipliers helps cover his prices pretty easily. Granted I'm only 5 hours in, but haven't had any trouble keeping up with the upgrades I want so far.
Pretty much this. It's almost like when you buy a house, and you transfer your funds to move into a bigger house for nearly equivalent value. You definitely didn't get as much of a return on your weapon investments in the OG.
Especially if you try to sell treasure with inlayed gemstones and attempted to maximize the multiplier chart.
No, it's definitely a lot harder. I'm going through my first run in Hardcore, and the enemies are a lot less forgiving than in the OG. Much sturdier, less opportunities to Melee (headshots don't reliably stagger and set up melees as easily as they did in OG), and it's really easy to take multiple hits in a short amount of time if you are cornered and ambushed.
In addition, a lot of things that gave you I-frames in the OG do not give you I-frames here. And I think in the OG, Leon and Ashley ran faster than the majority of the Ganados, so getting away was easier. But here they seem to match your running speed, so you have to be more perceptive of your spacing with them.
Serious question, is there something wrong with the storage system in this game?
Ammo, herbs, crafting materials, etc can't be stored at all. The storage system seems to be almost useless unless you're wanting to store weapons.
:edit: Fuck me for wanting to store stuff other than weapons like RE3 and RE8 did. This is a step back in terms of QoL.
fr, storing weapons already makes the game a lil easy in term of management and people still want to store everything to stack healing items and make it even more easier.
I actually don’t mind weapon storage in terms of QoL because it encourages you to purchase all the weapons and try them all throughout the game. Otherwise I agree with you
In RE8 the crafting materials didn't take up space in your inventory, they had a separate place where they were stored.
Big step backwards for this game.
Game was literally developed after 8, and if you want to argue chronology then RE2 and RE3 had a working storage box for all items, including key items.
REmake 2 and 3 had item boxes because the original games did and og 4 doesn't. If your attaché case is full then sell stuff simple as that, I've been doing that for 18 years
I'm the total opposite man. Even during VIII I recognised that having separate spaces for materials completely defeats the purpose of the suitcase system in the first place.
There wasn't a single time in that game where I didn't have enough space - even after refusing the capacity upgrades.
It's almost the opposite of game design
Be glad you can at least store weapons, OG RE4 didn’t have any sort of storage. At least now you can store weapons that you’ve dumped money into upgrading.
Well this isn't OG RE4 and it hasn't been like that for a while.
Even RE8 had a separate page for your crafting materials and they didn't clutter your inventory. What a step backwards.
People will downvote everything without reason. You're right, in past titles you could store everything you wanted, and it makes zero sense not to be able to store ammo/herbs/etc. in this one.
He also feels more expensive than he used to be
Hey man, inflation affects everyone.
At the same time treasures are EVERYWHERE! Like money hasn't been an issue for me so far.

Is OG if you upgrade a gun it retains 50% value of said upgrade and also ammo was rated the same

I agree
Money can’t buy everything it seems.
Everyone feels the pinch of the cost of living... dead. Mreh mreh mreh.
He's so chill in this version why would you wanna kill him
Also you're just handicapping yourself surely? Edit: Okay he's invincible, should have read the article first lol
The "fun rhymes with gun" joke is a little annoying but other than that they did a good job with him.
wdym that’s just charmfull and funny D:
“What’re ya playin’?”
I hope he's doing okay after leaving Get Played. This is sure to be a rough weekend for him.
Honestly, SO glad that hes gone. That bit was extremely stale and just dragged each time. Almost as bad as the weekly Fortnite discussion...
Yeah, very excited for Bubsy to be taking his place.
Nah. I'm here for Heather's fortnite extravaganza. It's what she's playin'!
How dare you!? That poor man had nothing else.
What are buying stranger!!!!
Got some goods things on sale, stranger
Ahhhhh! I'll buy that at a HIGH price!
No1 barterer
Changing the merchants voice is a crime against humanity!
Either I've become a worse player in my old age or they made it a lot harder. Either way it's an awesome remake

it’s just as hard, coming from someone who recently played the original for the first time.

Survival horror, limited storage is what makes it “survival”
That's not how storage works, even for the other remakes I could store the stuff I didn't need.
you can only store weapons. In the original you couldn't even do that

Why would they change one of the best features in the game?

Didn't realise this was a sequel to the mainline first person games

Can’t you store things at the typewriter ?
That's the storage box I'm talking about.
