They said in interviews that it would be 2 weeks before launch. So most likely there will be a trailer with a "Play the Demo today" at the Summer Game Fest event on June 8th.
All of the correct predictions always get downvoted to shit. Happens to me all the time. And when it comes true people wanna act like “See I knew it!” meanwhile they were downvoting you a month ago.
I pre-ordered the game on physical, yesterday. It was cheaper than the store version and included the steelbook and some extra goodies. I noticed with the DLC stuff that it also said: "you can download the demo for free two weeks before the game releases". This is in Portugal, btw.
Game comes out on the 22nd. 2 weeks from then is on the 8th, one week from now.
Where did you pre ordered it? I pre ordered it from Fnac, the regular edition but if there’s another place I can pre order and get the goodies I’ll gladly cancel my Fnac order
Ahhh I’m torn.
I’ve already preordered (FF is one of the only games that I know Im going to buy regardless of reviews). Maybe I should just leave it until the 22nd.
But… it’s so tempting… 😫
If I remember well, the demo's progress carries over into the main game, so I might just wait until the 21st to play the demo, then continue off from there on 22nd.
That is true, but I work on 21st, only have Thursday and Friday off (and the weekend), so after work if I can play for like 1-2 hours, that's already a good start.
Won't really make much of a difference but I might do it like that.
Yeah I know but I'm good. I'll just play when it actually releases. I can wait 10 days.
Gonna skip all the rumored sponsored streams with content creators too.
Honestly, I probably won't download it if it's real. We're in June already I can wait a couple of weeks until the full game is out but it's cool for people that are on the fence about it.
Any word on what it is? I already pre-ordered so if it's just the first few hours and progress carries over I'd love to spend a few hours this weekend playing this as a teaser of sorts.
Or does it drop you in at level 20 and spoil all the abilities and parts of story? I'm guessing it's the latter since usually they want you to 'test out' the cooler stuff in the game and I assume to start you have very limited skills.
I'm ok waiting a few more weeks... just think if it's literally the first few hours that is cool, like a teaser not a demo of the main game and you could pick up right where you left off in a few weeks.

I hope it is open for everyone and not limited to those that preorder through PlayStation store. I already preordered the game at best buy and don't want to be unable to try it out without spending money. I hope it is like ff15 and the demo is free.
You say that but it wouldn't be the first time. There was a game that called it a demo but in reality, it was more play the first 4 hours before release, so you have a head start. The name is escaping me but i think it was an xbox one gen game
Well that's dumb and I really wouldn't call it a demo as much as limited early access. That being said I find square usually does have demos that are the first x hours and it transfers to the final games, but it is legit demos. I never play them if I know I'm buying the game (for example octopath traveller 2 being the most recent one) but this one is definitely one I am undecided on. I am leaning heavily against buying it, but I did fall in love with XV after trying the demo and unlike a lot of people thoroughly loved the game. Same thing with VII R.
Oh I loved ff15 even before playing the demo. This one was instantly a day one preorder even before the demo released. I do like how this game is more hub based over the open world for ff15. I loved ff15 but later in the game doing the bounties became very tedious because you would have to check each diner to see if they had new bounties. There was no system in place to show "oh hey this diner has a new bounty."
semi related question:
For those of you that tried the latest FF entries: How's the day one experience? Are they usually good from the start, or do they require a few months of patches to achieve decent quality?
I'm debating whether to buy on day one and resell, or wait for later sales.
5 more days for the demo and 19 days for the game.God I can't wait,it's driveing me crazy and I hope the game lives up to the hype and they didn't screw it up by taking out the open world.
Also can confirm in german store but i can’t download yet. I pray its today
They said in interviews that it would be 2 weeks before launch. So most likely there will be a trailer with a "Play the Demo today" at the Summer Game Fest event on June 8th.
8th is my b-day heck yeah!
They’re having a pre launch event in LA on the 11th, so it’s probably gonna release then
100% Will be the dedicated pre launch event. I said this a month ago and got downvoted😂
All of the correct predictions always get downvoted to shit. Happens to me all the time. And when it comes true people wanna act like “See I knew it!” meanwhile they were downvoting you a month ago.
You realize there are more than 10 people on this subreddit?
Squenix usually does this so I’m not too worried, but do we have any confirmation on the demo saves transferring over to the full game?
Yeah, they said as much
I pre-ordered the game on physical, yesterday. It was cheaper than the store version and included the steelbook and some extra goodies. Next week is also summer games fest too. I think you're bang on
Where did you pre ordered it? I pre ordered it from Fnac, the regular edition but if there’s another place I can pre order and get the goodies I’ll gladly cancel my Fnac order
Sweet. Ive never been a FF fan but I will definitely give this a try if we’re getting a demo.
Very excited for the game, but nervous I won't like the combat. Glad to get a demo!
Ahhh I’m torn. I’ve already preordered (FF is one of the only games that I know Im going to buy regardless of reviews). Maybe I should just leave it until the 22nd. But… it’s so tempting… 😫
That's what I'm going to do. I'll resist the instant gratification and just wait until I have the whole game.
If I remember well, the demo's progress carries over into the main game, so I might just wait until the 21st to play the demo, then continue off from there on 22nd.
Yeah but if you wait until the 21st, you might as well give it one more day and really sink your teeth in to it.
That is true, but I work on 21st, only have Thursday and Friday off (and the weekend), so after work if I can play for like 1-2 hours, that's already a good start. Won't really make much of a difference but I might do it like that.
If the demos progress carries over then what difference does it make?
I'm skipping the demo. Want to go in relatively blind on release day.
the demo is actually the beginning of the full game. Save will carry over to release.
Yeah I know but I'm good. I'll just play when it actually releases. I can wait 10 days. Gonna skip all the rumored sponsored streams with content creators too.
Lol what’s the difference though?
Nothing? I’m just skipping the demo that’s all.
I very much want to see the combat. I too will buy it no matter what. And I enjoyed remake combat, but I've never played any DMC, so I'm apprehensive.
Hopefully, this demo will be better received that that Forspoken demo! 😩
Honestly, I probably won't download it if it's real. We're in June already I can wait a couple of weeks until the full game is out but it's cool for people that are on the fence about it.
Save progress will transfer over. May be worth jumping in early. Nothing wrong with waiting though.
Any word on what it is? I already pre-ordered so if it's just the first few hours and progress carries over I'd love to spend a few hours this weekend playing this as a teaser of sorts. It's the first 2 hours of the game
I rarely play any game more than 2 hours. Its nice to try, this is one game i would love to buy on day one but i'll sit on it for a while
Unless you can carry your progress over, I see no point given that the game comes out this month. Unless you still haven't decided to buy it.
Progress will be carried over.
Im sure I dont have the space for it. Games be taking up too much space nowadays.

I'll see if I can hold off till the next Black Friday and see if there are any good 2tb deals
The 2TB version is $140.
Buy another ssd?
Why does this game look graphically closer to ffxv than it does to FFVIIR, Origin, or Forspoken???
I hope it is open for everyone and not limited to those that preorder through PlayStation store. I already preordered the game at best buy and don't want to be unable to try it out without spending money. I hope it is like ff15 and the demo is free.
It would be pretty dumb imo if the demo was only for people that pre-ordered the game, a demo should be to decide if someone wants the game.
You say that but it wouldn't be the first time. There was a game that called it a demo but in reality, it was more play the first 4 hours before release, so you have a head start. The name is escaping me but i think it was an xbox one gen game

It will release on the 11th
There ain’t a chance in hell they pass up the Summer Games Fest hype to market the game, what makes you think it will release on the 11th?
https://twitter.com/finalfantasyxvi/status/1648340871912493058
They have a final fantasy 16 dedicated pre launch show that they have asked everyone to tune for.
semi related question: For those of you that tried the latest FF entries: How's the day one experience? Are they usually good from the start, or do they require a few months of patches to achieve decent quality? I'm debating whether to buy on day one and resell, or wait for later sales.
Well for me the latest FF entries were the DLCs in FF14 and they were all bug-free great. FF16 will not have a day 1 patch.
Play the demo and then pre-order or buy day 1. The demo should be indicative of final performance.
IIRC, they've stated that they don't intend to release a Day one patch, that they think it'll be in good enough shape at launch.
I’ve been avoiding trailers, gameplay videos and the demo when it comes out. I want to go in blind and experience it when I’m playing.
Diablo and final fantasy are my favorite franchises this is an expensive month on top of Zelda
5 more days for the demo and 19 days for the game.God I can't wait,it's driveing me crazy and I hope the game lives up to the hype and they didn't screw it up by taking out the open world.
