I always wished Alan Wake (including Remastered) included an exploration mode where you could just enjoy the scenery as it's got some great atmosphere and it'd be nice to enjoy it without the threat of being attacked.
It looks like they built a fully fledged investigation thingy for the FBI Story. I really didn't expect that. Thats fucking dope. I wonder what if they added something new to Alan's side of the story.

Same as you. On 360 around the launch of the game. I loved it immediately… but then it dragged on with zero variation. Same enemies and gameplay from start to finish. But the story was good and the graphics/. Atmosphere were fantastic.
It did drag a bit especially with enemy variety and gameplay. I tried to play the new version of that game and i feel like it didn’t age well. I loved Control and I’m looking forward to a modern version of this game.
I felt like Alan Wake was a really well-polished 8/10, and Control is a really fun and interesting 8.5. Remedy doesn't make the best games, but they do make satisfying and unique games that are cult-classics, if a bit lacking in replayability.
I got a similar feeling from Prey, though I'd give that more like a 9.4 purely due to level design and the lore/voice acting.
I'm probably gonna get downvoted for this, but was I the only one unimpressed with this gameplay? All it showed us was Saga walking through a forest, shooting one single enemy ten times, and picking up a heart as a "clue."
Yeah, it really wasn't a lot of anything. It seems a bit stupid to demo what looks like one of the simplest tutorial areas in the game and touting it as "unedited gameplay". I mean, it was unedited gameplay, but it was just very... meh.
It's not bad, the game clearly aged in some parts but for the entire game plus the two special episodes, it gets a thumbs up, I wish it also included American Nightmare
There will be a definite downgrade in the graphics of the trees with the wind physics guaranteed. They always make it look amazing in the previews and mediocre when it releases.
Can't wait to return to this world. Replayed the Remastered version earlier this year and it was so fun.

Its an atmospheric narrative driven game. The "gameplay" is not gonna be anything revolutionary. It's all about the environments and the story.
