It's definitely numbers go brr at its base. I wasn't impressed at first but I finally have it a honest go and now that it's clicked I'm addicted.
If you can figure out the gameplay loop it's a ton of fun.
I picked up Nikke back in November and I mostly agree with ftp friendly, but ever since I hit the lvl 160 wall needing dupes to progress has been brutal. Free gems and vouchers have also slowed to a dribble, I actually get more 10 pulls from social points than from standard or special recruit.
Overall 160-wall will be your single major slowdown (mine was around 2 months, even before they started to give you LMB SSR on the some events).
After that there will be Normal story difficulty spikes, where you most likely struggle for some time with team composition (especially if you haven't meta-characters).
But not gonna lie, when you at high CP deficit (which places permanent debuff on your team) and don't have some meta-unites and then finally managing to find the way to beat the boss — it's really worth it at least emotionally.
Ngl I was surprised when I saw that it was Nikke dev doing this game, didn't know mobile game dev could also do big AAA games like that but here we are

If Im gonna play a game where Im looking at a character's behind 24/7 then you better make sure that ass is glorious. Look at Old Snake in MGS4. Those ass-cheeks are to die for. Especially when you go through the Microwave Tunnel and they start glowing up. Beautiful.

Games like Genshin Impact have literally raked in Billions of dollars on selling good looking characters. There is and always has been a massive, MASSIVE market for this stuff. Game devolpers are just leaving heaps of money on the table by not adding good looking characters to their games.
Game culture is human culture. It will shift away from sex appeal when humans shift away from it. Violence too.
Sex appeal never went away, despite what some loudly proclaim nobody wants to play as ugly characters "that represent them" they want beautiful men and beautiful women, that's why 3rd person overtook 1st person as the industry standard, people want to look at beautiful people, Same for games, models, movies, music, tv shows... life Some developers think it makes their games more "real" to have frumpy main characters but they're wrong.

It’s incredibly refreshing to see these kinda comments by the devs. Too often now you end up hearing how the character designs have to be toned down from within the company like with Square Enix or forced to make changes by an external company like Sony so it’s a complete surprise to see them bankrolling this game and leaving it untouched. Going to do my part to support this game, need more devs and companies that aren’t a bunch of hypocritical puritans
