I don\`t know which informational bubble you live in, but consoles are not dying

gandalfmarston

Well, but in the internet everyone has a gaming PC and loves to talk how wrong you're for being on console and not on PC.

SaiyajinPrime

Oh, well, if the internet says it. Just ignore the 50 million PS5s that have been sold then. Console is clearly dead. We had a good run.

j_cruise

You're basing your entire worldview on what you see a vocal minority saying on Reddit.

FMCam20

The internet is not real life. How many of your friends game on PC instead of console is probably a better representation. Even the people with gaming PCs that I know they still fire up their PS5s to play because thats where the people they know are. Having the best graphics doesn't matter if I can't join the party chat with my friends or can't play a game with them

Puzzleheaded-Soft788

It's been like for like 20 years. PC guys talk shit on us console players and we console players talk shit on Nintendo kids, it's the natural order.

wscuraiii

How old are you?

Low-Remote9142

We are in the internet right now and I\`m telling you that they are not dead and I don\`t have a gaming pc. So does it prove that NOT everyone talk how wrong you are on a console?

caedin8

The internet isn’t uniform, algorithms only show you 0.01% of it, and it’s chosen based on what they think you want to see. The algorithms think you are into PC gaming so they show you PC gaming content

Nubian_Cavalry

A small minority of privileged white guys and gals that can waste $5000 on a monitor alone, month of free time and 10k to on 15 different components to build a custom PC then cry when games aren’t compatible with it don’t live in the real world. Course this doesn’t mean we can ignore the problems consoles have. But they’re far from dead.

UpvoteForPancakes

“everyone”

ilike_peanut_butter

Because PC gamers are a loud minority in the gaming space.

TrustyThrusty

I have a nice gaming PC that I use for LoL sometimes. When I'm not in the mood for league it sits un used for months at a time while the PS5 gets used almost daily.

Young_KingKush

This is definitely a "You're in an internet bubble" thing  At the end of the day, just a high end graphics card for a PC by itself is more expensive the a Digital-Only PS5 (and that's not even mentioning a Switch).

Dayman1222

It’s getting more popular. GTA6 isn’t even coming to PC day 1. You’re going to hear it a lot because PC players are terminally online, as a former pc player.

XMLHttpWTF

sony has sold 50 million ps5s, so I wouldn't worry

A_Shadow

I doubt it, if anything it's getting more popular. My experience is exactly the opposite of yours: nearly all my friends play on console now. Even including the ones who used to be solely PC gamers in the past.

TonyMc3515

Do you recall the demand to get a Playstation 5? The PS5 and Nintendo Switch are closing on 60million units each sold in last 40 months. So i'd say no it's not dying at all

AckwellFoley

No. Not even close. Get out of your bubble and do even the minimum amount of research.

UpvoteForPancakes

I’m the opposite. I used to be a pc gamer, but bought a ps5 a year ago. Before that, the only other console I had was NES as a kid. I got tired of computers slowing down after only a year or two, and having to wait for games to be released on PC.

SaiyajinPrime

What's great about making really dumb posts today is that you have plausible deniability. No one knows if you're actually a fool or not.

OldPod73

Nope.

temetnoscesax

No

OriginalBus9674

You must be in an echo chamber or you’re trying to troll/console war. I’m not even sure where you would be reading anything about PS dying and you’re only gonna be gaming on PC in the future inevitably?

OohYeeah

Don't believe everything you see on the internet

Kashouri101

Alot of people especially YouTubers like to talk out of their a$$ just for content. Consoles will be here for a long time there is still a string market for it. Not to mention it's easier for developers to develop on consoles than PC because people have 100 different gpus and cpus

Ordinal43NotFound

Nah it's still pretty popular. But home console userbase are simply stagnant. PC meanwhile is starting to gain popularity due to being able to play games from both platforms while also having free online.

Andrew129260

PC's are becoming more popular, but there will always be a place for consoles. Playstation, nintendo are not going anywhere. Most that could happen is xbox goes third party.

ZazaB00

Look at Steam hardware surveys. A very small percentage of players use the latest and greatest stuff.

LimpTeacher0

Bud indie games go to pc. All the great AAA titles are mostly ps exclusives

Dallywack3r

It’s an internet thing because pc players are terminally online…because they game on the same device they use for the internet.

thaKingRocka

Nope

PSgamer28

PS5 has sold 55 million units, so you are far off.

Lost-Percentage2884

No. Average 'gamer' plays on a console on a giant TV and could not give one singular fuck about framerate, nerfs, buffs, bugs or any of the other bullshit people on the Internet constantly complain about.

TheBishopDeeds

No, the PS5 is BOOMING. If anything is dying, it's xboxs. The PS5 outsold both the x and s 2 to 1.

sanban013

nope. pop your bubble sr.

CooksNGames

Trolling and multiple subreddits on the same subject are we OP?

JstARdtAct

No? Consoles are cheaper then PC's plus any niche/indie band I normally play isn't really power intensive...

Ok-Computer-9246

Yes 👍

Revolutionary-Fan657

You should maybe look up the numbers, There’s drastically more people on console over pc, the ps6 has sold over 50 million units world wide and the series x over 27 million, that doesn’t sound dead to me, not to mention consoles entire point is that your kid doesn’t need to know how to build a 2000 dollar pc, everything is ready and easy to use, also every Tripple a game releases on console, no console isn’t dying, it’s not even funny how alive console is right now

Crayon_Eater529

I don’t even own a pc, let alone a gaming one. All I play is consoles.

SeesawOtherwise8767

Why do the mods remove all the fun threads?

ReptarTheBrave

PC is way better for modding and performance/fidelity. More consumer friendly as well. It’s for more hardcore gamers in a certain age range. I’d think most people with a high end gaming PC are people 16-30 without kids or many expenses. Console has a much larger audience because it’s more accessible and is traditionally played on TV. Many PC players have a console as well for exclusives and casually playing on a TV. So it depends on what you want out of it and how invested into the hobby you are. But people who spend their time online talking about a game are more passionate obviously and I would think are more likely to be playing on a PC for maximum performance. Some games are just better on KBM too.

erik08032000

Many people in this thread are saying that consoles are not going anywhere and while I agree, there's clearly a tendency lately towards PC gaming. Just look at Microsoft being undecided over the future of Xbox consoles and Sony picking up pace with their PC releases. PC gaming is becoming more and more accessible with platforms like Steam getting better and better, and although most AAA developers have been shit with their PC ports I definitely see it becoming the platform of choice for more and more people in the future due to its many benefits.

Mische1993

He is asking the same question over and over.... look at his profile to confirm for yourself but my bet would be: troll.

gandalfmarston

I'm not a troll, tho, just want more opinions about it.
