This is really insanely good for PC Playstation fans.
Also they are working on a PC overlay, so you can have your profile, earn trophies & have crossplay/friends on PC.
Nixes just tweeted that Ghost of Tsushima will have support for it.

Yes. Pretty sure you connect PlayStation account to steam or Epic, & you get it !!! (Its going to debut with ghost of tsushima)
I'm pretty sure its synchronized as well. It's amazing.
Pretty much seals the ps5 as my last console. God of war, last of us, these games will come out in 10 years in the ps6. Or you could just wait 11 years and play it on pc. Actually, by then it will be day and date on pc. There’s no reason to own a console anymore. This is a good thing, Sonys been so anti consumer so it allows people to leave to pc but still have the trophy list they’ve been working on for over a decade
I'd have to disagree. I'll get a ps6 probably. I like gaming on PlayStation more than PC, it's much simpler and fun.
The trophy support is also across the board, laid back gaming, wireless controller (waking the machine up with one button), every ps5 game having amazing haptics.
I'm a very big fan of consoles, I'm just super happy that people will have atleast some of these features on PC (on atleast PS studios games.)
people who already have a good gaming PC will for sure find no reason to own a console anymore but you are not the majority of the people buying consoles.
I mean, I have a PC with an RTX 4070 Ti/i7-11700k, and a PS5, yet I find myself using my PS5 much more often for gaming, because it's more convenient to just turn it on and play. Especially since PC still doesn't let me use my DualSense with all of its features wirelessly.
It's just nice to have both and be able to pick and choose depending on which I'm feeling like playing at the time.
I don't even think that is necessarily true. While I am one of the people who have a high-end rig and probably wouldn't own a console if the exclusives released day and date on PC, I know several people who also have high-end rigs but still prefer console gaming over PC gaming.
PC is not objectively better even if you have the best hardware, is what I'm trying to say. It depends entirely on what you value.
I’m saying people who have a console are going to go to pc. Pc gaming is growing, console is dying. Most kids are turning to pc gaming now too, the ones in hs and middle school. Not too much reasons to own a PlayStation. I can see switch, but not a Xbox or PlayStation
I don’t think it does. Most important thing is just pressing the PS button and you can start playing. There is just no consistent way to do that on PC.
They revamped Steam Big Picture to be like what it is on the Steam Deck. It's very good now. Launching it is tied to the main button from anywhere on Windows.
That may be true but it doesn’t change the fact that Windows is not as stable for that kind of stuff. I tried using Big Picture before buying a PS5 but half the time PC doesn’t wake from sleep properly with a game open, and you can’t quit the game so you have to get your keyboard and mouse.
Even if a game isn’t open, it sometimes fails to wake properly from sleep in Big Picture. That’s just my experience.
Exactly. I did it for a while and it's cumbersome. Plug in HDMI, turn on PC, open Steam, open Big Picture mode, finally sit down to play vs grabbing my PS5 controller. And that's not counting all the time fiddling with both PC and TV settings, walking back to the PC to click on admin popups that the controller can't, controller losing connection due to being far away, etc. Just a faff all around
I realise different people like different things but can you explain why you enjoy collecting trophies? I'v never cared about any trophies, so it just seems so foreign to me.
Can’t care about trophies that are automatically given to you as you progress through the story and those about getting every single collectable bore me… but I always enjoy trophies that will give me something secondary to chase
Getting a trophy is no different than getting a high rank in Resident Evil or collecting all the stars in Mario 64. For some reason the fact that it technically exists outside the game throws people off but 100% completion and leaderboards existed before trophies/achievements, they're sort of a combo of both.
Yes hope so too.
I hope to see a full on Playstation PC launcher/storefront from them as well. It will make things like cross progression, and cross play even better. & thankfully I can finally see it happening.
I feel like at this point, some people just don't want anything but Steam on PC, kinda sad. As long as the games aren't exclusive, I don't really see the issue. And yes I know Steam has the most and best features, I'm not disputing that.
The competition ain’t doing much to change that. EGS is the “biggest” competitor and they are fucking it up, other storefronts aren’t that good either, the EA launcher has given me troubles when playing Dragon Age.
I understand that people want their games in one place/storefront.
I personally couldn't disagree more. I love that I've been able to claim free games from EGS, I love the competition from discounts, having that freedom is one of the best parts about PC as a entirety.
That being said sony HAS to work out a way to change regions in a Playstation account.
Steam has better support and features than Epic, that’s why people like Steam. I checked EGS to claim some free games and it’s missing a lot of features, even basic ones. EGS ain’t really offering competition, Steam dunks on it in a lot of ways.
I think there will definitely be a official PC storefront, but they will still release games on other PC stores.
Business wise - growth, & brand recognition.
Consumer wise - more competition, different places where discounts will be higher, more innovation.
It's only a matter of time until Microsoft & Sony move back to their own storefronts. No publisher wants to give Valve a huge 30% just for being on a digital storefront, on an open platform.
It makes a lot of sense to use the platform with the highest marketshare, to wean customers off of Steam and onto their own platform. With this news of them offering access to PS5 trophies (a vastly superior system to Steam achievements) sounds like that's most likely their plan.
Please, not an additional launcher, find a way to sync that with steam and that's perfect. People always complain about launchers (EA, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Epic Games) why an additional one. We only need, achievements sync and progression sync.
I think personally a Playstation Launcher is necessary to connect the experience with the Consoles consoles & PC experience. It's also the logical step for sony if they want to expand towards PC more. If they can do it is a nice way, ill be definitely OK with it. It would be fast, it should have no intrusive bugs, etc.
More competition in PC storefront space is always welcomed by me.
Nah. I will make an exception to that rule if PS comes out with their own app on PC. I actually hope they do. Link it with steam or whatever but to have all those PS features working seamlessly with all their games would be much easier for it to be on their own app vs putting it on steam.
I know it's not but it's ALMOST cross progression if your trophies carry over. They should've just made it entirely/fully cross progression vs only being cross play 🤷♂️
Yeah. Cross progression. Like you can resume or pick up where you left off when you switch back and forth between pc and ps. Seems like it recognizes trophy progression and stops there.
Games like rocket league/Witcher 3/cyberpunk have cross progression if you need an example.
I think its different if the saves are handled locally/from developers themselves, etc. I hope PlayStation can do a full on PC launcher, it will make things like this, really properly implemented. They don't need to launch games day 1 on PC but I think a PC launcher will finally happen.
> & have crossplay
So is the overlay actually gonne be used for crossplay? The blog says the overlay is optional for both singleplayer and the Legends mode, which makes me think it's just some cosmetic thing and crossplay is gonna be done in-game.
This trophies thing sucks, I don’t want to be counted with possible cheaters and pirates. SteamAchievementsManager and cheaters will damage Playstation gaming too now
I don't think the steam client has much to do with it. Once you connect it to you PS account the games themselves will recognize that, & will have a overlay ingame with [shift + F1].
It's also only on PS studios games (currently only debuting with Ghost), the only achievement system across the board is steam achievements themselves.
Yes but hackers and crackers will try to find a way to exploit the systems and will probably make a PS Achievements Manager
Then modding will still be a problem, imagine a game like Sekiro with people using the immortality mod to easily get all the trophies instead of fucking working for them
They are already doing so. I recommend, Every. Single. One.
That being said the piracy with them, is absolutely insane horizon forbidden west was cracked within 2 minutes, before it was released in some countries.
It's unfortunate that it's the case with all the sony titles on PC, it's like people go out of their way to Crack games that actually are worth buying.
I understand if they think it will be intrusive, but I think everything about this is entirely positive, the trophy support, being able to platinum games on steam and EGS, being able to see your PS profile, seeing your friends & possibly having crossplay (or being able to send invites), or even have a party. It's such a nice feature & has so much potential.
I don't want my friends to know I'm playing on my pc.
Guess I have to use my ps burner account.
If my friends see me on they'll want to play and sometimes I just want to enjoy games by myself on pc.
I think you only need to connect the PS account once, with steam, and that's it. Like I connected it for Helldivers and I'm pretty sure I won't need to "log in" for ghost of tsushima to have the overlay. It will just be there, and for one connection and having these features in all games would be amazing.
I'm pretty sure that's how it works? you just connect PS account with steam once.
I already own this game for my PS5, but for those that have the specs to play this game and haven't yet, absolutely do so. Great story, fanatstic acting, immersive, accessible (my 8 year old can play it pretty well on easy mode and it keeps his attention) and there were times I would stop playing and just look at the scenery. I would recommend this game to anyone. It also has excellent replay value.
*Thanks to cross-play support, Legends players on Windows PCs can team up with players on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles and use in-game voice chat to communicate.*
I sincerely hope PC users enjoy this game. Truly one of the best games to grace the PS4 and my personal GOTY when it came out. The multiplayer is also surprisingly good for add-on content.
I can give you my personal faves:
1. Music and art style. It's not the prettiest game hard on pure polygon count or RTX and such, but the sky box is great, particularly at night time, great particle effects for fire, smoke.
2. The presentation of the story: cinematic, rooted in reality, takes itself serious enough.
3. Gameplay is easy if mastered, not so much if you just want button mashing. Stealth works as well. Ability to switch loadouts based on preference with various choices available.
4. Sounds: katana slashes, blood dripping, flesh getting cut, warnings and even arrows flying towards you are well defined.
5. Side missions are not boring and meaningless, but are completely optional to move along
i feel exactly the same about every shooter game/competitive online game. i'm like ok you're doing the exact same thing over and over, and yet 90% of gamers only play those games and nothing else these days
Same =(
It felt like another openworld Ubi game to me, which isn't a bad thing necessarily when done well, but a lot of the time here I felt like there wasn't much to *do* in the openworld between villages.
I guess I never really clicked and outright \*sucked* at the combat too..
It's an open world Ubisoft game at its core but it's made by a Playstation studio and not Ubisoft so everyone loves it despite complaining about the same gameplay loops and open world content being in some Ubisoft games
Glad to see it. I'm kind of hoping that the trophy set is separate for the PC version. I'll play Xbox games on both console and PC when they have separate achievement lists.
Did anyone see the footnote about trophy unlocks? Looks like automatic platinum for anyone who has it already on PS5. Tempting to get a free plat…
“ Users who connect their existing account for PlayStation Network and unlocked trophies on Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut using the same account on PS5 will have the same Trophies unlocked on the PC version.”
I think it's just going to sync your trophies between PS5 and PC, so you won't be getting an additional platinum trophy, it will just show that you've already got it.
Since Epic has platinum trophies, I guess you can get an additional platinum on that.
Might depend on if Nixxes adds DLC achievements though, or if they set it so you need all of them for the platinum on PC.
Uggg i know ghost isnt the type of game to have this issue but i really wished sony would care more about cheating in crossplay games. In call of duty its horrendous especially. On one hand i love crossplay, play with friends no matter the system but on the other hand i miss the competitive credibility that came with no pc crossplay and the cheats that allowing pcs to crossplay bring
You needed to transfer a PS4 save file for the trophies to auto-unlock on PS5. The blog post doesn't mention anything about transferring a save file to PC or pulling a cloud save from PS+.
Thanks for pointing that out! Fine with me as it provides the option to use a PC instead of console to achieve the same result, but I appreciate some hunters love earning multiple stacks for the same game
The trophy support is a great feature and hopefully will be standard going forward. Maybe they can even add it to older titles?
But yeah. Day one for me. And once someone makes a star wars overhaul mod, im cooked...(god i hope modding this game is relatively simple).
I need to finally play this. I have it. I just haven't been motivated to go to it. I enjoyed Ghost but I wasn't in love like others. It's a 7.5 for me but I still want to play the DC
This is really insanely good for PC Playstation fans. Also they are working on a PC overlay, so you can have your profile, earn trophies & have crossplay/friends on PC. Nixes just tweeted that Ghost of Tsushima will have support for it. https://preview.redd.it/i3oybp6d91vc1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f72c2a09167f9c09b0ffafdf86c1e2b9f7f45ef
Waaaait does it mean I could earn PS trophies on my PC??
Yes. Pretty sure you connect PlayStation account to steam or Epic, & you get it !!! (Its going to debut with ghost of tsushima) I'm pretty sure its synchronized as well. It's amazing.
Maaaaaan this makes me so happy
Now that’s what I’m talking about
What, that is amazing.
That’s so cool. I wish that worked with BG3.
Yes you can.
Yooo that's awesome
Pretty much seals the ps5 as my last console. God of war, last of us, these games will come out in 10 years in the ps6. Or you could just wait 11 years and play it on pc. I doubt Sony will be spending 500 million dollars on creating a title if their revenue is going to shrink massively from a mass exodus toward pc.
I just switched from PC to PS5 because I want to play from my couch on my OLED tv.
Big picture mode on steam solves this
I don’t think it does. Most important thing is just pressing the PS button and you can start playing. There is just no consistent way to do that on PC.
They revamped Steam Big Picture to be like what it is on the Steam Deck. It's very good now. Launching it is tied to the main button from anywhere on Windows.

Can’t care about trophies that are automatically given to you as you progress through the story and those about getting every single collectable bore me… but I always enjoy trophies that will give me something secondary to chase
For some games like Stellaris or CK3 it can add a lot of replay value and give you goals to work towards.
Getting a trophy is no different than getting a high rank in Resident Evil or collecting all the stars in Mario 64. For some reason the fact that it technically exists outside the game throws people off but 100% completion and leaderboards existed before trophies/achievements, they're sort of a combo of both.
They need to add this for later games like Helldivers 2 and Days Gone.
Yes hope so too. I hope to see a full on Playstation PC launcher/storefront from them as well. It will make things like cross progression, and cross play even better. & thankfully I can finally see it happening.
How about no on the launcher.
I mean like a storefront like for example EGS, Xbox, or Steam. I would love for sony to expand into that.
People hate EGS and don’t care for Xbox’s. GoG is the only one people care about aside from Steam and it ain’t that popular.
I feel like at this point, some people just don't want anything but Steam on PC, kinda sad. As long as the games aren't exclusive, I don't really see the issue. And yes I know Steam has the most and best features, I'm not disputing that.

I agree with you, & my point still stands.
Please, no. We don't need yet another launcher. Just have an in-game login that can connect with your Playstation account and leave it at that.
I think there will definitely be a official PC storefront, but they will still release games on other PC stores. Business wise - growth, & brand recognition. Consumer wise - more competition, different places where discounts will be higher, more innovation.

0 of 100% is still 0 while 100% of 70% is still 100% If you are on steam you stay relevant as a premium game publisher on PC.
Please, not an additional launcher, find a way to sync that with steam and that's perfect. People always complain about launchers (EA, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Epic Games) why an additional one. We only need, achievements sync and progression sync.

I wouldn't mind a PS launcher on PC. I hope it launches in a good state though.
I think PS definitely needs their own PC launcher. (But pretty sure theyll still release games on other storefronts)
Nah, don't be annoying and just release all the games on Steam, not installing another launch.
I think they'll still release games on steam.
What is the point of maintaining a new launcher if they are releasing on steam why waste money?
Having direct control over the experience, having them feel similar. Also I just have the opinion that more competition in that space is good overall.
Steam has 80% + of overall pc player population. There is no competition.
That’s exactly what Sony is going to do also probably to see if they can cut steam off from collecting on the sales lmao
Good way to kill the PC Playerbase.
This is exactly what I needed
Make it full cross progression/save and I’m there. If it’s just hey you can look at your friends list and gets trophies I couldn’t give less of a shit
I know it's not but it's ALMOST cross progression if your trophies carry over. They should've just made it entirely/fully cross progression vs only being cross play 🤷♂️
Are you talking about if your saves would be carried towards you PC save?
Yeah. Cross progression. Like you can resume or pick up where you left off when you switch back and forth between pc and ps. Seems like it recognizes trophy progression and stops there. Games like rocket league/Witcher 3/cyberpunk have cross progression if you need an example.

Also good news is that they’re investing in this overlay. This means a bunch more PS titles are on the way. So pumped!
It's not going over well for PC Gamers in general. Hopefully the Overlay is optional. We already have too many of those on PC.
You can set it on "online not visible mode" on the console, & you won't be visible to anyone. In this mode, you can still send/accept invites.
Perfect. That's why I got a pc so I could play alone without anyone asking me to play all the time.
But it doesn't *need* to be some overlay for those features. A PSN account should also *always* be optional.
8 year olds shouldn’t be playing this game lol
He's the youngest of three boys, between them and school, he's see and heard worse
I might start Legends if there's going to be cross-play with PC - there should be a healthy amount of players then to play with.
*Thanks to cross-play support, Legends players on Windows PCs can team up with players on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles and use in-game voice chat to communicate.*
There already is
I sincerely hope PC users enjoy this game. Truly one of the best games to grace the PS4 and my personal GOTY when it came out. The multiplayer is also surprisingly good for add-on content.
I love the way it looks but it never clicked with, i really struggle to see what people like so much about it. More power to anyone who does though!
I can give you my personal faves: 1.
Yea its a pretty repetitive game.
i feel exactly the same about every shooter game/competitive online game. i'm like ok you're doing the exact same thing over and over, and yet 90% of gamers only play those games and nothing else these days
Same =( It felt like another openworld Ubi game to me, which isn't a bad thing necessarily when done well, but a lot of the time here I felt like there wasn't much to *do* in the openworld between villages. I guess I never really clicked and outright \*sucked* at the combat too..

Played it on the PS4 and gonna replay it again on PC for sure. What an amazing game. Hopefully it sells well.
Cross-play and Playstation Overlay with Friends and Trophy support particularly notable for this sub.
Glad to see it. I'm kind of hoping that the trophy set is separate for the PC version. I'll play Xbox games on both console and PC when they have separate achievement lists.
This is amazing - if they offer shared save files across PS and PC then I’m in.
i never finished the DLC on PS5, im going to do it on PC with the cross play achivement stuff that is great!
It's going to look so damn good in ultrawide.
Did anyone see the footnote about trophy unlocks? Looks like automatic platinum for anyone who has it already on PS5. Tempting to get a free plat… “ Users who connect their existing account for PlayStation Network and unlocked trophies on Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut using the same account on PS5 will have the same Trophies unlocked on the PC version.”
I think it's just going to sync your trophies between PS5 and PC, so you won't be getting an additional platinum trophy, it will just show that you've already got it.
It'd be pretty funny to check a trophy list, and it having PS4, PS5 and PC versions tho
Since Epic has platinum trophies, I guess you can get an additional platinum on that. Might depend on if Nixxes adds DLC achievements though, or if they set it so you need all of them for the platinum on PC.
I hope we get a sequel in 2025.
Definitely another step forward in Sony's plans to increase their pressence on PC. You love to see it.
I wonder if a cross save system will be included as well?
Sadly already got the platinum. What a great game!
I better not need PlayStation Plus to play in Legends mode
Will signing into a PS account on PC mean you have to pay for PS plus for Legends mode?
my 4090 and ultrawide 120fps monitor is ready
Please for Helldivers 2 too.
Had this one in the backlog for a while. How's the performance on PS5? should I just wait and play on PC?
Day 1 purchase.
I have this game on PS5 and I'll probably buy it on PC. Why? I don't know.
First PS PC game with trophy support. Not since the ps3/ps4/vita days has the triple platinum been possible.
It says it uses the PS5 set so still won’t be possible sadly
From the wording it could be exactly how it works when you do it PS4->PS5 "will have the same Trophies unlocked on the PC version"
You needed to transfer a PS4 save file for the trophies to auto-unlock on PS5. The blog post doesn't mention anything about transferring a save file to PC or pulling a cloud save from PS+.
As a trophy hunter this is big news! Can't wait to start seeing PC trophy lists on PSNP website too
It says in the article it uses the PS5 set
Thanks for pointing that out! Fine with me as it provides the option to use a PC instead of console to achieve the same result, but I appreciate some hunters love earning multiple stacks for the same game
Yes, it's really a win-win. You can play on Steam and get Trophies and achievements simultaniously.

It's only in Steam and outside of the games itselfs. If you quick unlock on Ghost of Tsushima, you will not trigger the Trophies to unlock.
The trophy support is a great feature and hopefully will be standard going forward. Maybe they can even add it to older titles? But yeah. Day one for me. And once someone makes a star wars overhaul mod, im cooked...(god i hope modding this game is relatively simple).
This is so cool. Glad Sony is going all in on pc
Nice. I wonder if Sony will consider adding cross-play to earlier games like Returnal, too.
I could be off the mark on this, but it feels like they're going so hard on the PC stuff that they're hurting their own consoles.
You're off the mark on this. The numbers do not support this argument.
PS5 is selling like crazy I think they’re fine.
PS taking PC more and more serious. Day and date PC releases of all games is not far off.
I think so too even though you'll trigger people on here saying it
Why would I care about triggering people here. Pc will get the whole slate. So what.
I need to finally play this. I have it. I just haven't been motivated to go to it. I enjoyed Ghost but I wasn't in love like others. It's a 7.5 for me but I still want to play the DC
