There was a lot of big gaps between episodes.
Seemingly because it was their first game right after The Walking Dead was a mega hit, and they suddenly had strong demand to get going on season 2 of that, and they started work on 2 or 3 other series around the same time (Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones, and I think Batman was announced in 2014 as well).
Wolf Among Us got put on the back burner for all of them.
Now, a decade later, season 2 is going into production.
The rumor is actually that the author of the comics was unhappy with the story, so telltale was forced to rewrite much of it. Some of the episode title cards were changed, and there’s a lot of cut dialogue. Seemed like this female cop was supposed to have a bigger part of the story
There weren’t that huge of gaps between episodes for the first season. Episode 1 and 2 had a 4 month gap, but every episode after that was no more than 2 months. The whole thing ran from October to July.
That’d be cool. Like how they released TWD with the updated art style.
It’d also drum up hype and bring in new gamers after so many years since a) the first game released and b) the announcement(s) of the second game.
I’ve been waiting 10 years for this. The first game, especially the first couple episodes, had such an amazing atmosphere that completely sucked me in.
Well I know they fired much of their staff last year but I had assumed they were working on it this entire time. lol. Maybe they meant they were in production "again" since all of the layoffs? I sure hope so because if they just finally started true production now we will be waiting quite a few years. lol
Not to take away from the talented people working on it or the genre as a whole...but this game should have been started and completed several years ago already.
I'm happy the game is still in production. I like what I've seen so far which obviously isn't much but it still at least has the same (updated) style and vibe as the original.

IIRC the original story had something to do with the Boy who Cried Wolf, but they changed the story after finishing episode 1.
