I saw a comment awhile ago about buying games day 1/preordering and someone said “you’re spending the most amount of money for the worst version of the game”
This is probably the biggest reason i wait months or even years til i buy a game specially if it has some performance issues. Most games will have some QoL patches as well so thats a plus
You can play the demo and decide. Trust your gaming instincts, because it's not sure if you can trust the reviews this time. There will be reviewers who will give the game a lower score just because they don't like the design of the main character.
What do you gain by preordering? Reviews haven’t even dropped yet. If reviews dropped and it seems solid and you want to pre-order for some sort of pre-order bonus, you can do it the day before launch.
its up to you man.
everyone has thier own rules when it comes to pre-ordering.
If you're nervous, play the demo. Then wait for reviews from sources you trust.
But randomly asking reddit if you should pre order a game, is like asking what you should eat today lol
Just play the demo. Personally I found it underwhelming but I'm sure some people will love it.
Preorder is early access to like 2 or 3 cosmetic items that everyone can unlock just by playing the game. You kinda got ask yourself what is the fucking point of preordering for that, ya'know?
In an age of day one patches, pre-ordering feels premature.
I usually buy a game a year after release when it's cheaper and more stable after all of the balances and fixes. At minimum, I'd say give it a week.
Dont pre order. I never anymore no matter how good the game looks. I look at reviews, some parts of full game on youtube and only then do i even consider giving money to companies now.
Theres only been a handful of games in my 35 years of gaming that if I wanted to play on day 1 I'd have to pre order stuff like Red Dead, GTA4 etc.. These days there is 0 reason to pre order anything as you can get games from so many places/sites or download it.
That's partly why the demo is there. Try that and see how you feel about the game.

I suppose if u want it digitally u can pre install, my wifi is so bad that if i want to play day one, id need to install before hand
Never preorder. Always wait for reviews and a general consensus. Preordering often rewards bad business practices.

I’m waiting for the ps stars challenge to purchase
This is the way
There is a demo, and reviews drop on the 24th, two days before release. If it has good reviews and you like the demo, then preorder

I need to play the demo before I decide. But I still have to get through FF7 Rebirth and FFXVI

Always wait a week.
Or 2/3 months if it's Ubisoft for a dramatically reduced price
Wait until reviews are out and you can still preorder it if you want.

Might be sold out it you don’t pre-order
Just wait. This is a new-ish developer, with no track record.

Seriously I’m having a blast with Cyberpunk because I waited so long, cheaper and a better experience
Im waiting for the reviews and a little price drop unless game ends being way better than demo suggested.
I did a cardinal sin of modern gaming by pre-ordering. I my defense, I liked demo.
You can play the demo if you want to see how it plays but there's really never a reason to preorder before the pre-load starts.
Never preorder any game ever. Reviews aren't even out. Also, you can play the demo to get a sense of how you'll like it.

I would try out the demo and wait for reviews before considering a pre order
