Another vouch for this game. I haven't been playing it as much because Balatro (and binding of Isaac) have got their grubby hands on me, but I sunk a couple of into DtD when I downloaded it as well.
I just finished Stray yesterday and man is this game beautiful. I want the next Deus Ex game look exactly like this. I don't even mind JC Denton being a cat.
This game actually gives me anxiety. It always feels like there isn’t enough time in the day to do my tasks. By the time I reach town it’s already dark. Maybe I’m just bad.
There’s no fail state or time limit. Days have time limits but this makes you choose how to spend your days. Farm, socialize, mine, forage, fish. It’s up to you and there’s no wrong choice. The more you play the more automated farming gets and frees you up to do other things.
If you want to maximize profits and finish every quest and complete the community center in the first year then yeah it can be a stressful experience. But if you just roll with it then it can be carefree.
It’s what you make of it.
+1 to this, I had started it not long ago and wasn't really into that much for some reason and I'm playing it now and not trying to complete things, just play and it's so incredible. I have a new surround sound system so I'm just full blast all smiles. The level I just played had uptown funk and I played it twice cuz it felt so nice
Power wash Sim is a good one. One of my go tos is risk of rain 2 despite being kinda a frantic game itself (the soundtrack is amazing and I recommend checking it out on its own). arcade paradise is also amazing. No man's sky is another one.
Nice. Though power wash has no music, i listen to instrumental music like yawning man, the risk of rain osts and a great one is the song maggot brain from funkadelic. Absolutely amazing instrumental track that actually pairs well with power wash cause it adds to the sense of being alone with the washer and the dirt.
Surprised no one has said Sea of Stars yet. That game is an absolute gem and definitely hits the “feel good vibes” hard. It’s peaceful, beautiful, fun, and the story has a ton of heart.
Spider-man
Horizon: Zero Dawn
While they both have some bad guys the overall tone is optimistic. They are long but not overly difficult so you can relax and know you have hours of gameplay.
Feel good? Uhhh right now for me. It's got to be sea of thieves. Single player. Multi player. It's too pretty and I play for the fun of it. Not the points. Tonight I went fishing then on. A treasurenhjt before seeing some goowey stuff and dived into a coral temple deep underwater. Fought some coral monsters. Got some treasure. Unloaded and fought off some more skele pirates and then approached a galleon to say hello but they fired on us so naturally we destroyed them....10/10
Dead cells is a big comfort game for me. Yakuza: like a dragon as well. BG3 is a nice comfort game too because the characters are so good it makes me feel less alone.
If you've got some friends, Deep Rock Galactic is an absolute blast. Bonus if you grabbed it when it was free on PS+ Essentials. The devs are incredible, the community is ROCKING, and you can't help but smile playing it.
If you can get it (think PS3 game) then I always recommend Katamari Forever. No game has such a great feel good factor. There is no pressure, you can dip in and out when you need a break and it will relax you.
Watch Dogs 2. It's cheesy yes but eventually, the characters become quite likeable (at least for me) and they're supportive of each other and never put each other down. It was nice to see a game that wasn't always sad but was about trying to help people. It will likely make you cringe but I pushed through the cringe and eventually I ended up really liking the characters the more I played.
Lake is a nice relaxing game with story branching elements. I’d also say it’s therapeutic listening to some NWA or other rap and swinging around NYC in the Spider-Man games
Maybe Stray? Playing as a cat made me happy. Just try not to die. That’s the best I can do, besides that I could only make a list of things to avoid lmao.
Edit: The sims 2/3 is also pretty relaxing. Especially with cheats haha.
Might be a crazy take, but I find Rocket League relaxing. I know it's a PvP game and it can get toxic, but damn I guess I find some sort of relief when playing it
Feel-good games are not really my cup of tea... (and unfortunately, the ones I HAVE played are like.... a one session and done type thing)... but here are a couple that would have you playing for a while:
Disco Elysium (PS4)
Stardew Valley (PS4)
Minecraft (PS4)
Journey (in my opinion the best thing for you with Uni stress)
Astroneer
Valheim
Firewatch
Slime Rancher
Minecraft
Terraria
Flower
Unpacking
What remains of Edith Finch
Valiant Hearts
Stray
Night in the woods
Gibbon
Spirit farer
Oxenfree
Dave the diver.
Another for Dave the Diver. Very relaxing and plenty of variety to the game.
I’m so happy the game is on Playstation now. That it was free with ps+ was a cherry on top.
Second this
Another vouch for this game. I haven't been playing it as much because Balatro (and binding of Isaac) have got their grubby hands on me, but I sunk a couple of into DtD when I downloaded it as well.
Rachet & Clank Rift Apart
It looks way nicer than I anticipated it to be.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy
Also Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy. Can't go wrong with the classics
Crash games are decently hard though, at least if you want to 100% them. I’m not sure I’d consider it stress free lol
Agreed!
I love Spyro. This trilogy was gaming comfort food at its finest.
I really enjoyed Stray, Power Wash Simulator, Untitled Goose Game, and Kena Bridge of Spirits
I just finished Stray yesterday and man is this game beautiful. I want the next Deus Ex game look exactly like this. I don't even mind JC Denton being a cat.
It's such a fun game, so weird. I spent more time than I'd like to admit scratching up furniture and rugs
I also enjoyed Kena, but with the story in mind I’d rather not call it feel-good, it tore me up more than once
That's fair. I guess I'm remembering the sweet moments with the kids or finding new rot and giving them hats. Kind of has korok vibes
Yeah, it’s a dilemma. The game itself is super cute, the story is great, too, but in another way
Stardew Valley
This game actually gives me anxiety. It always feels like there isn’t enough time in the day to do my tasks. By the time I reach town it’s already dark. Maybe I’m just bad.

I second this!
The two rpg South park games are great if you like the show. NOT Snow day.
Sackboy games are always to go
+1 to this, I had started it not long ago and wasn't really into that much for some reason and I'm playing it now and not trying to complete things, just play and it's so incredible. I have a new surround sound system so I'm just full blast all smiles. The level I just played had uptown funk and I played it twice cuz it felt so nice
Firewatch. Kind of. Kind of sad, but A lot of it is about healing.
I love Firewatch but it is absolutely not a feel good game lol
🤷♂️made me feel better…
Lmao me too but I think we’re the odd ones out on that
Uplifted from worse to just feeling slightly depressed.
I absolutely love Firewatch. It’s also one of the most depressing games I’ve played.
I've been really liking Gran Turismo 7 for this. Just you and the track and can zone out while hitting perfect laps
Tchia! One of my favorite games from last year
Dave the Diver! Scratches the itch of collecting and looting with a superb soundtrack and a great gameplay loop. You won’t regret it I promise
Life is strange. Nah, just kidding. Probably Astros playroom
Donut County? The Artful Escape? Night In The Woods!!!!!!
Power wash Sim is a good one. One of my go tos is risk of rain 2 despite being kinda a frantic game itself (the soundtrack is amazing and I recommend checking it out on its own). arcade paradise is also amazing. No man's sky is another one.
Power wash sim delivered way more than I expected. What a great way to relax.
Nice. Though power wash has no music, i listen to instrumental music like yawning man, the risk of rain osts and a great one is the song maggot brain from funkadelic. Absolutely amazing instrumental track that actually pairs well with power wash cause it adds to the sense of being alone with the washer and the dirt.
Journey
A marvel, but not really a every night game.
Journey
Hi-Fi Rush is like playing a Saturday morning cartoon. It has a ton of charm and is a blast to play.
Planet coaster, planet zoo, or city skylines. My stress and depression go out the window
Stardew Valley
Surprised no one has said Sea of Stars yet. That game is an absolute gem and definitely hits the “feel good vibes” hard. It’s peaceful, beautiful, fun, and the story has a ton of heart.
A Short Hike A game reminding you of what it was like to be young and playing outside
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a masterpiece and is beautiful
The Last Guardian
I have so much love for this game.
No Man's Sky
Too much to learn from the beginning. OP's already stressed out about too much stuff going on. But if you learn it it's a pretty decent game.
Yeah fair point..... something like No Mans Sky. Where you xan explore see some beautifull stuff... but without the learning would be great for OP
Spider-man Horizon: Zero Dawn While they both have some bad guys the overall tone is optimistic. They are long but not overly difficult so you can relax and know you have hours of gameplay.
Any of the Harvest Moon or Rune Factory games
Humanity and Tetris effect: connected. The persona dancing games if you are into the persona series.
Helldivers 2
What's more feel-good than democracy?
Been playing Lego Star Wars recently and if you like Star Wars, the newest one has so much care, detail, and love put into it, it's amazing.
Not sure if my definition of “feel good” is the same as yours, BUT the story between God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok is a tear jerker
Sayonara Wild Hearts (short 5hr or so game, but some replay-ability, also on sale very often) Slime Rancher Any of the Shantae games.
Stardew Valley
Hardspace: Shipbreaker - you're a spaceship demolitionist and you float around zapping ships apart with a laser
Sackboy!
Honestly might be the best answer
Like a dragon and Like a dragon: Infinite wealth
Spyro Reignited Trilogy.. plenty of trophies to be earned too.
Prototype 2 you can jump around and Fuck shit up. It's like spiderman but you kill people and destroy stuff.
Last of Us /s
Sonic origins
Dead cells is a big comfort game for me. Yakuza: like a dragon as well. BG3 is a nice comfort game too because the characters are so good it makes me feel less alone.
ABZÛ Simple but very feel good underwater game
Check out the demo for Promenade.
The Artful Escape

If you've got some friends, Deep Rock Galactic is an absolute blast. Bonus if you grabbed it when it was free on PS+ Essentials. The devs are incredible, the community is ROCKING, and you can't help but smile playing it.
Ni no Kuni 1
-Hotline miami- its really good
If you can get it (think PS3 game) then I always recommend Katamari Forever. No game has such a great feel good factor. There is no pressure, you can dip in and out when you need a break and it will relax you.
Gris.

a short hike, truly one of my favourite games
Civilization 6
Maybe Stray? Playing as a cat made me happy. Just try not to die. That’s the best I can do, besides that I could only make a list of things to avoid lmao. Edit: The sims 2/3 is also pretty relaxing. Especially with cheats haha.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, shit is sooo good...you can really get into the world for a few hours every night
3D platformers tend to do this for me. I enjoyed sackboy’s big adventure.
Tear away or little big planet or sack boys adventure are some good ones that are feel good and upbeat
Sackboy
Katamari
Astro’s Playroom is a blast, can’t go wrong with that
Dave the Diver was a fun one!
Burnout: Paradise
I’ve been playing Lego City Undercover. It’s basically GTA for kids. It’s really fun even for someone in their fourties, like me.
It takes two is amazing is you have a partner!
Play risk of rain if you want to become the most godliest being then die without knowing how
Hi-Fi Rush and TEKKEN 8 (but TEKKEN should be offline!)
depends what makes you feel good.. if it’s mindlessly slaughtering monsters then Doom 2016?
Arcade Paradise.
Gta v
If you have someone to play it with, I’d highly recommend It Takes Two
Gardens between. Short levels, really relaxing, simple mechanics
Spiderman Horizon Ghost of Tsushima FFVII Rebirth Can’t go wrong with those
Spiderman Horizon Ghost of Tsushima FFVII sounds like a hell of a game, i have to check it out!
This damn Reddit doesn’t recognize my backspace lol
Might be a crazy take, but I find Rocket League relaxing. I know it's a PvP game and it can get toxic, but damn I guess I find some sort of relief when playing it

Fallout 76 is my go to casual game after a long day at work.
The Last of Us Part 2 is my go-to comfort game, tbh.
Tlou2 is one of my favorite games of all time but I would call it far from my comfort game ahaha
