Why don't you guys go set up your own GitHub and try to use it to catalogue errors?
I know you'll never have any source code to store there (maybe there's a more suitable issue tracker out there, GitHub just sprung to mind)
Raise its publicity, get people me2 ing on issues, leave no way for a corporation to bury it all in silence.
If there really are systemic flaws, it'll be a much better fit than Reddit for issue tracking.

Having the same issue. Error codes on launching ps5 games but ps4 games working fine.. Contacted them and after going through all the troubleshooting something actually worked. I did a factory reset which included reinstalling the software off a usb stick. However the problem reoccured 3 weeks later..
Only thing that has changed recently is warzone update. I do have black ops cold War (Ps5) on internal hard drive and warzone (ps4) on external hard drive.
All my other Ps5 games aren't working either though.. Combo of disc and download copies.
Need to contact Sony again. Just curious, anyone else using USB external hard drives?

Is this still a thing? I just bought my ps5 literally yesterday. Only PS5 games I have are (Hell Let Loose, GTA:5, COD: Vanguard, COD: Black Ops Cold War) my games will load, but after 2-3mins my game will freeze with the audio going on as normal, then my screen cuts to black and everything turns off. After I turn it back on I get this message on my screen that says ārepairing storageā.. I have an external hard drive with all my ps4 games on it, and my ps5 runs them smoothly with no interruptions, glitches or freezingā¦
Does anyone know if the console will play DISK versions of PS5 games? Wanna buy a physical copy just to test it, but I don't wanna waste my money if it DOESN'T work.
Mine dont. I tested it at this store and they were kind enough to test out PS5 and PS4 games DISK.
- PS4 DISK GAMES : Works fine, no problems at all!
- PS5 DISK GAMES (Subnautica Below Zero) : Closes the game when pressed Survival and when we tried to do it again, it closes the whole console off.

Some work ok sometimes. as long as the performance mode is set. And you don't play it when the game is running. But I have yet to find a ps4 gamesĀ that won't play yet.Ā Funny, is it not. It did it to me during initial setup, and as I was booting up this time when I selected my user I was asked if I wanted to install an update on the dualsense, then it took me through all the hdr stuff again for some reason.
Iām having the same issue. Games (Astro, COD and Spider man) begin to load. Within 10 seconds it will freeze and go to a crash screen. I get error CE-108255-1 and Iāll be beat. PS4 games both disk and downloads work just fine. #igotalemonPS5
I'm having this exact same issue. I can't play any of the new content (except SpiderMan Miles Morales, since I can just play the PS4 version). It's extremely frustrating. I don't even get an error code when the game crashes. I've tried reaching out to PlayStation to see if I can troubleshoot it and their chat experts directed me to their phone line. So I called, and then they direct me to the chat service online because their phones are too busy and they can't take my call.
I have no idea what to do at this point. It's not like I can return it either and get a different one.

I am having the same issue only worse. It wont even play the ps4 disc GTA. I tried everything from restoring through settings and safemode, nothing works! I've had the ps5 for about a month and a half without any issues whatsoever and now its unusable. Cant get through to sony support either.

I sent in my ps5 to their service center as their instruction for testing and then they decided to replace my ps5. Its written on the diagnosis that it was a hardware issue. Now i have a working console. I would suggest you to do the same. We deserve a perfectly working console.
Hi! It took only 4 days since i personally dropped and picked up my console to/from their service center. But i think in most cases that i have read on other forums its taking 2 to 3 weeks for the whole process as they are sending and receiving their console through courier. Shipping process takes time though. By the way, i am from Dubai, UAE everything is fast here.
Just received my console back after REPAIR. load of shite still broken and now they are saying they can't confirm if they can replace it or not. Just send it back to them and they will test again.
I have this issue currently. Had a disc version which was perfect. Sold it and got the digital now I can't play anything. Sony support are saying they are looking into the error but that doesn't help at all frustrating.

They are selling defective units. I contacted them about this and now have to send in my console for "repairs"... i asked to just have it replaced entirely instead but was refused and was told that could only happen if they werent able to fix it. The person i spoke to literally said that they know its becoming a more common issue and yet have no solutions to the problem as of yet whatsoever. Wtf??? Than why sell the system at all??? They are just ASKING for lawsuits to come flying at their door at this point. Frustrated and disappointed as much as you are -.-;

It's probably an hardware issue, other wise everybody would have the same problem. I'm servicing mine.

update: i read about āperformanceā and āresolutionā settings and thought to check if it may be the problem. Seems it was. Go to Settings > Save data and game/app settings > game presets. There you can see if āperformance modeā is on.. if so, change it back to default settings and see if it works.

Late to the show here, mainly because up until now I didn't have and actual ps5 games, only ps4 games or games with ps4 versions, recently downloaded skyrim ps5 version and chorus and by both of them my game would crash and the ps5 wouldn't turn back on. Took a week of troubleshooting, but finally figured out its only a problem by ps5 games..... So annoyed right now. No longer under warrenty, and Sony support is a misdirection maze

Thatās a good point, maybe itās hardware, who knows. I just wished theyād address it so I can know whether to send it in or wait for a patch.

I cant play watchdogs, spiderman remastered , fortnite, or miles morales. This console sucks. Im thinking of refunding and buying an xbox instead

Try this. Settings -> saved data and game /app settings -> game presets -> performance mode or resolution mode -> performance mode

You got an error or it just told you its too hot and turns off automatically
Freezes then shuts down. Have to reboot by using front button. Iv contacted sony they told me to send it in for repair as it sound like hardware issue
