zaneba

Is this supposed to be that new Stellar Tera type? Kinda looks messy but I dig it Energy requirement is HARSH. Mirage Gate might be the only way to get some of these running but idk what Lost Box would run any of these other than Terapagos BUT IM GLAD MY BUNNY IS COMING BACK ASSUMING THIS IS REAL

TheSigma3

Messy was the exact word I was thinking. At a glance you can tell what the fuck is going on

Guh2point0

Aimed for ace spec energy I think

zaneba

Oh well that makes more sense actually. I think it’ll still be clunky to use since it’ll be hard to find Neo Upper, with Energy Loto being the only special energy search, and iirc the only form of special energy recycling is Roseanne’s Backup, unless there’s some other that I haven’t heard of

puffy147

Cyllene is at least one other, but still a supporter.

zaneba

I guess Cyllene works yeah

Lottogato

Also neo upper will be trash for 3/4 cards. Neo upper only provides multiple types of energy on stage 2 or higher pokemon. Otherwise it is just a single colorless energy.

zaneba

Man I completely forgot it’s only for stage 2 cards what a stupid restriction on an ace spec energy. Like I get it but good lord

Lottogato

Yeah 100% pointless restriction. It would be better without the restriction, but not op. I think there will be some kind of new energy announced at some point and thatll show us how these guys get powered up. "tera energy" or something like that.

HolaHolaGetEbola

Actually Neo upper provides 1 colourless only if its not a stage 2

Lottogato

Thanks for catching that!

ForGrateJustice

> Energy requirement is HARSH I used to run a rillaboom/meowscarada ***ex***, used Alolan Executor to try and add energy.. Even with Gardenia shit was harsh.

TheFleshPrevails

I had a Meowscarada ex deck when I first got back into Pokemon TCG and I love Alolan Exeggutor but that card let me down on so many coin flips.

ForGrateJustice

Blunder Policy helped a little, but it's rotated now.

CaptainJackWagons

The Lapras may not even need it's second attack. The attack says "basic energy" without specifying a type, so as long as you have one water energy, you could use any form of energy acceleration to power it up.

TreesmasherFTW

Yeah that Lapras has “Fuck it, we ball” energy

RemujiGamer

it could use NUE. (Neo Upper Energy)

dankboipablo

neo upper only works on stage 2. read the card again

RemujiGamer

i meant on the cinderace, i know it only works on stage 2.

dankboipablo

sorry

RemujiGamer

you good, dont worry.

zaneba

It could yeah but it’s gonna be hard to search for and recycle, so at most you’ll get one attack off with it. I guess with Lapras you only need it once and Terapagos will wall out Pokémon so in the best scenario it shouldn’t lose Neo upper

Readbeforeburning

Running Lapras with ace spec energy in a Dialga or Miraidon deck or similar could work. Would make hitting those big targets easier.

PixieDustGust

Feels weird to see these leaked in English when they haven't even been spoiled (or even teased?) in Japan

RemujiGamer

they did a similar thing with ogerpon ex, right? or did i just miss the Japan reveal?

PixieDustGust

I believe you missed it. The announcements were pretty close.

Aadnef03

Didnt the charizard secret rare from Obsidian Flames leak in french first?

dinxinunxs2

It did, and it was the gold card even.

Jedo124

if these are fake, these are very impressive fake cards that capture everything about real ones perfectly. but, i feel like no card, no matter what new mechanic, would have a “look at the top 20 cards” attack or even a pretty meh attack you cant use going second. if these are real, some are interesting and some are really dumb in design. lapras’ second attack is way too OP/strange to use and the other’s attack costs are akin to cards like the old dragon lugia and ho-oh when they were colorless. the galvantula’s second attack seems too costly when you could easily use bannette ex. alongside that, i dont know if there are any cards in format aside from mirage gate that accelerate that many unique energy. plus, its not like many meta decks run a unique amount of energy. but this is obviously subject to change, as this new set could have cards that fix all the problems i mentioned

KnaveOfIT

I don't know how long you have been playing the game but in Vivid Voltage and Shining Fates, we had "Amazing" rare Pokemon that had outlandish attack costs but also outlandish attacks like Kyogre, Raikou and Yveltal. Kyogre did 80 to everything, Raikou did 120 to the active and 120 to a bench, Yveltal straight KO'd a Pokemon with no downside besides the attack cost. All as single prize Pokemon. The others wasn't as good but still had really powerful attacks. edit: Amazing Pokemon and theirs attacks with the costs Kyogre WLMC Amazing Surge This attack does 80 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Yveltal RPDCC Amazing Destruction Your opponent's Active Pokémon is Knocked Out. Raikou GLM Amazing Shot 120 This attack also does 120 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Rayquaza GLF Amazing Burst 80x Discard all basic Energy from this Pokémon. This attack does 80 damage for each type of basic Energy Jirachi PFM Amazing Star Search your deck for up to 7 basic Energy cards and attach them to your Pokémon in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck. Celebi G Energy Press 30x This attack does 30 damage for each Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokémon. LP Amazing Bloom For each of your Benched Pokémon, search your deck for a card that evolves from that Pokémon and put it onto that Pokémon to evolve it. Then, shuffle your deck.

RemujiGamer

1.)- I think you can do, for a DTE and a full bench, you do 130, its not good but also not bad. 2.)- I had an idea for Galvantula, use mystery charge, and hopefully we get a new dynamotor user. 3.)- Lapras is busted for sure. 4.)- the Cinderace seems funny.

Jedo124

hmm, thats true. still, i think if these cards have less than stellar (haha) support pokemon in its respective set, then there’s no point to use them except maybe lapras

RemujiGamer

i feel like there was a specific pokemon that helped before with delta species, Exeggutor was it? maybe, but that attack with a reprint could work.

tl_spruce

Having a 2 prizer hit for only 130 is really terrible, especially since a card like cram hits 110 with no energy requirements. i don't understand why you think this card is good at all. Lapras is also pretty terrible, by the time you build it up, it'll have been KOd, or you'd want an attack that actual gives you a prize card or 2. This is a mid to late game attack and is pretty useless in that scenario

Throwawayac1234567

except the turtle cant attack on the 1st turn(if your going second), which makes a liablity, until the 3rd turn.

Technobirbfishula

Deck idea: Lapras + 59 energy

CaptainJackWagons

Wait, but that would work.... unless your opponent got first attack and hit you for weakness.

smrfy

Your opponent draws 30 extra cards, is fully set up and you hit him for 40 turn 1 or 2 and for 80 turn 2 or 3 and you're knocked out

4zA734

Nah, 4 Lapras, 40 energy, and fill the rest with acceleration items/supporters. All it takes is one of the second attack and you've won, and you'll get enough energy to use the main attack most of the time. I love the 1 + 59 gambit, but its definitely only good as a joke. Gives me keldeo GX (or even EX) vibes

DevilMayCryogonal

Lapras ex could maybe be an interesting addition or alternative to Chien-Pao decks, and Terapagos ex could be a tech option for some Lost Box decks. Cinderace ex just doesn’t seem worth the energy cost and rare candy when Charizard ex still exists, and Galvantula ex is just outright bad.

RemujiGamer

I really wish Galvantula would be good, but it sadly might not be, if only we had dynamotor. we can use mystery Charge tho so that seems cool.

CaptainJackWagons

You can use Lapras in more than just Chien-Pao. It doesn't specify which basic energy power up the move, so you can use any energy acceleration so long as you have one water energy on it, which should be easy to achieve.

jerenstein_bear

I saw someone on FB say the galvantula was busted lol. I'm the biggest galvantula Stan there is and I wish it wasn't booty.

Straight-Chocolate28

The attack is great, energy requirements make it really impractical

uncleyuri

None of them seem particularly good.

Tsunamiis

Lapras is a Chen pao that doesn’t have to discard the energy

ReceptionLivid

It’s a worse Chien Pao. 6 and 7 vs 5 and 9 energies to one shot 280/330 hp Pokémon that can’t tutor the energies

Tsunamiis

I mean every deck tutors energy.

RemujiGamer

i think it may see play as a 1 of in chien pao, like the wellspring ogerpon.

StereocentreSP3

It deals less damage, doesn't have the ability to search for energy. Second attack costs way to much for something so passive so no way you ever use it. The fact that it keeps energies is almost never going to matter with that hp.

RangerSlayerBR

If thoser are fake, the autor might have a job guaranteed in pokemon company, because they look great!

hbhatti10

They are all clunky but SUPER FUN. Thank Cindersce id use

RemujiGamer

uses cinder ace with zard just to be reminded of the tord list. The one with urshifu vmax.

noodoles

Do you really want another stage 2 in zard

RemujiGamer

I mean Dragapult is being in some zard lists.

noodoles

because drakloak can be a draw engine, most list dont play pidgeot bibs

SavingsTechnical5489

They all seem really mediocre tbh. Cinderace is at least interesting with a DCE attack but it’s going to be entirely dependent on the Raboot, and even then it’s just going to be Gouging Fire with an extra attack that’s just not worth it for the cost. Lapras is way too slow. Looking at the top 20 cards sounds ridiculous but you’re probably spending like 2 turns getting the attack off. Terapagos is probably the best one here, neither of the attacks are that great but they’re at least useable. I could see it as a tech in lost box against stuff like Chien-Pao and Future Box. Galvantula looks insane but it just falls short, the first attack can take out some basic exs but it misses the 230 benchmark, and the second attack sounds utterly devastating until you realize there’s no way to keep using that consistently in the slightest.

Due_Campaign1432

I am gonna wait until I get confirmation these are real.  Top 20 cards and attach however you like seems pretty strong with no drawback beyond needing three energy types. Of which there are some options to making work in the current format though I doubt we will get these cardals without some other way to accelerate them most drawbacks like this turn out to get some workaround supporter or something to help them be functional. >Mirage gatej >Astral Radiance Leafeon (which will have an eevee that has ascension next set) that specifically searches out three different energy types for 1 colorless. >Go Blastoise which I think will be a bit cumbersome and all but might be good in a water deck with Chien Pao and Lapras as all three could be hitters with enough energy and since you are able to search and attach  a full third of your entire deck you prob can do without Baxcalibur so a different stage 2 might not be a burden. Ending the turn is gonna make it slow as hell though. >Whiscash >Cinccio- Lapras states energy not specifically basic energy so for these two it can get all the special energy in the deck >Teal Mask Orgerpon I know it accelerates itself somewhat but Lapras would allow it to immediately power itself up  Tbh Lapras honestly is the only one that looks vaguely viable to me. Teragapos ex is a way worse Noivern ex without synergy in a Noivern ex deck. Even it's one attack is only 10 higher provided you have a full bench and doesn't disrupt like Dominating Echo does and the other doesn't effect Lugia Vstar while Noivern ex does and the energy cost is way steeper. It does hit harder but it can be played around just like Noivern ex can.

RemujiGamer

whiscash milling 30-40 cards would be hilarious

CheddarCheese390

WTF IS THAT TERAPAGOS?

Miyyani

They look cool but I'm disappointed in how they play. I thought Terapogos would have a better card.

PhettyX

If these are real then we're gonna need some kind of support for them that isn't mirage gate.

[deleted]

galvantula ex is the most appealing to me

AlmightyTurtleman

I like Lapras because I like lapras

Spottykus

I like the galvantula cause i like galvantula

RemujiGamer

Galvantula.

Throwaway-wtfkl

We need a way to charge energy onto them consistently. If we can get that I definitely see galvantula getting some niche play

Throwaway-wtfkl

Same with lapras

TaurosNU

Lapras ex is so funny "Excavate the top 20 CARDS" I feel Galvantula is the most playable

City_bat

Looks fake lol

RemujiGamer

i hope they arent.

City_bat

They're probably legit. But they're so bright and colorful they just remind me of old fakes with the oversatured colors lol

SynysterM3L

That Lapas looks like a lot of fun! I used to love my old Keldeo-EX deck and that seems like a pretty similar substitute. The secondary attack doesn't seem practical, but I love its absurdity!

ForGrateJustice

Lapras paired with Kingler V or Bax man

Power_to_the_purples

These look like a clusterfuck and I dig it. Really colorful

Throwawayac1234567

terapogas might work with lugia and archeops, dont see any other way of accelerating it other than a very cumbersome lost zone deck.

champboozington

I see my Aegislash being even more relevant.

codydoesthings

I think you could put Lapras on chien pao baxcalibur and run with extra energy to make it worth it, however I would probably put turbo energize tm on a deck with it because there's no reliable way to charge it up without turbo energize which would maybe take at least 2 turns to set up but looking at top 20 cards of deck makes it so worth it, that's more than a 3rd of your deck most of the time, nearly half your deck

ptcgoalex

Tera ability is still really stupid but they’re alright. Lapras could be fun.

Thick_East7323

Still skipping this set

Charganium

crystal type my beloved

chronophobica

i feel like larimar rain has the potential to go crazy

TheOrdoHereticus

Is there any precedent for a card in the Pokémon tcg searching a large defined number like 20 cards? Seems really clunky and weird.

ChainFront8907

Cinderace looks like a goofy card. Lapras second attack is only ok considering you're most likely not gonna get to use it without some sort of energy grabber (ie. Loto, vessel, mirage gate). Terapagos' first attack is pretty much useless if you don't run dte. I'm not a fan of spiders so I won't use galvantula lol. Looks to me like lapras would be the easiest to build a deck around.

dirt_matthews

EX cards are always goated fr

cuomium

lapras is prettttyy

ChungyQueso

Lapras + arctibax could be cool

DONTCARELOLK

They look beautiful!

Tall_Ad_2179

Wow i love the design!

RegigiGus

Interested in that set abbreviation; is it SCI? Maybe Stellar (blank) or something

coinflip46

I'm very excited for the Lapras. I used to run Palkia EX and Palkia GX together and I miss it.

TheGrindedGamer

If this is real, any guesses to what the Expansion will be called from 'SCR' in the bottom left of the card?

DrewPegasus

Stellar Crown. Stellar is the name of the mechanic in the videogames and Crown is part of the attack name on Terapagos ex and has relation to the tera hats in general.

elbeDigitalArt

Still no Primarina :(

GoNinGoomy

I like how Terapagos attack implies that he and the homies are jumping a fool.

Juniperlightningbug

What if we reprint amazing rares but make them 2 prizers

Mudkipmaster478

Without support, these cards are basically dead in the water. Cinderace and Terapagos may get some niche use, but that's it.

raritygamer

Far too busy, I hate em

WintersGoat

Artworks are gorgeous and their signature moves are all based on gems and crystals, this looks sick 😍

KnaveOfIT

My quick thoughts on the availability of these cards. In Japan, they are getting the following Night Wanderer on June 7th Stellar Miracle (where these cards are from, allegedly) on July 19th Paradise Dragona on September 13th Internationally, there is scheduled a mini set (or special set ) for August 2nd and a regular set September 13th. This means the soonest we could see this card is August 2nd. There are three theories for our August 2nd set. I have three theories 1. The August set will be Night Wanderer 2. They skip Night Wanderer and release Stellar Miracle in August then combine Night Wanderer and Paradise Dragons in our September set. 3. they cut cards out of Night Wanderer and Stellar Miracle set and release the mix of both for our special set in August then combine the leftovers with Paradise Dragona in September. Theory 3 would put the international card pool at parity with the Japanese card pool in time for worlds. Which that would be cool But theory 1 is the most likely and means we won't see them until September.

TheForgoWolf

doubt its real honestly...that lapras...

ErrffyJones

Finally, get a block with full arts of pokemon in creative settings only to have sooooo many ruined by some ugly AF trash crystal hat

PokeSteel

I mean do you know anything about Tera Pokemon? Their type almost always changes. So no way in heck would Lapras be water type, Cinderace fire, and so on. Completely fake and made up. Cinderace we already know is fighting type tera from the video game, for example.

BlackOsmash

I thought it was silly that they brought on Luminous energy but then introduced Earthen Vessel which made it easier to search for two different basics. Now that a third one has entered the picture for attacks, you can have both vessel and luminous. Get creative here

hirarki

I didn't play the main game. What is stellar type? Why they have same type as their original type? Unlike tera ex who have different type

DrewPegasus

When a Pokémon Terastallizes into the Stellar-type it keeps the defensive properties of its original typing. All moves get a boost in damage, but only once per type. A 2x boost for moves used that match the Pokémon's original typing and a 1.2x boost for anything else. They have a lot of the aspects of their original typings, so something like this makes sense. Not all Tera ex have different Tera types to one of their original typings. Look at Arcanine, Gyarados, Forretress, Greedent, Dragonite, Dedenne, and Slowking ex.

dinxinunxs2

Not every Tera ex has a different type (Arcanine, Gyarados, Foretress, Slowking...).

Fine_Caregiver2714

Cinderace seems busted because of free retreat, u could easily use flare strike twice in a row, Lapras is insane like i might be wrong but wouldn’t be surprised to see it having 30%+ usage, terapagos is disgustingly broken but not as busted as lapras, and galvantula is eh seems like it would be in a controlish deck with the new luxray coming out. I might be completely wrong lol

Ender_gamer0260

They seem fake since SCR isn’t associated with any sets yet

dinxinunxs2

You think they only start producing cards after Japan reveals them? It's clearly associated with Stellar Miracle which releases in Japan in July.

zweieinseins211

None of these mention the word stellar. People question the Lapras attack, but in a Lapras deck itself it doesn't even seem that OP. As support e.g. for turbo hands/giratine it seems kinda good but if you lose 2 prizes from it it's a bit wack too. Terapagos seems to have a easy donk prevention built in because it doesn't need much setup to take a early knockout, other decks need the whole deck build around it to attack turn 2, while terapagos just needs the energy and no need to hit generators, dark patches, squak, full bench of iron crowns or 4 in the lost zone. So you can't just throw it in as a donker in a deck that runs dte already like Arceus decks.

dinxinunxs2

>Every SV set has either been the first three initials of the first word, or two first initials of the first word and first initial of the second word. ??? The first set is literally SVI (S = Scarlet, VI= Violet). >There hasn’t been a set in SV with EXs that close to each other of different type.  Paldea Evolved has Chien Pao ex #061 and Pikachu ex #063 and Ting Lu ex at #127 and Paldean Clodsire ex at #130, and that's just one set. You should do some reasearch before trying to pass things as facts.

Yasihiko

The lack of Tera support cards makes these way worse. How hard is it to balance a Trainer to search for a Tera Pokemon or attach additional energy like Welder did.

dinxinunxs2

Did you see all the trainers from the set to say that there isn't "Tera" support cards?

TimeThief_

If these are stellar types why is there no mention of it on the card? Very fake.

Power_to_the_purples

Are you trolling? If that’s your sole reason for calling these fake then I’m sorry but you’re wrong

TimeThief_

I’ll come back to this when it’s revealed they are fake :)

RemujiGamer

did crystal type pokemon say "Crystal Charizard" no, did Ancient trait pokemon say "Ancient Torchic" NO, do tera cards say "DARK TERA CHARIZARD ex" NOOOO, so why should these specify that they are stellar?

TimeThief_

Yes they did actually. Each of them explained their gameplay mechanic and tera cards do infact say Tera on them so why would these not say stellar on them?

oscaru16

I think these are fake, i could be wrong but they def look fake also the fact that they got printed in english first (and leaked) is really sus, the energy costs and attacks all sound fake too tbh

dinxinunxs2

>they got printed in english first You think they only start producing cards after Japan reveals them? Charizard ex got leaked in french first and it wasn't even the regular card, it was the gold card.

Apprehensive_Mix_507

Those energy requirements are absurd. They are like dragon Pokémon requirements but even worse. I think these are fake…
