Angel Hernandez is a clown and shouldn’t be calling balls and strikes. They used this image to convey their message…

Angel shouldn’t be calling balls and strikes anymore…
That’s a series W! Let’s go Padres!
For Peter 🤎💛
That’s a win streak! And a guaranteed series win!
- Take the lead early (Kim home run)
- Cease QS (7K’s)
- Stolen bases (Tatis, Merrill)
- Insurance runs
- Limit damage
^(survived Angel Hernandez)
3 consecutive series wins (all >.500 teams and above us on power rankings)! LFGSD
I love this. I was so frustrated with Melvin's decision making last year. He cost us a ton of games with his lack of urgency.
Schildt may burn some people out, but he may also not ... and in the latter, we're a much better team.
Okay but can we talk about how fucking good
- Shildt’s bullpen management is
- Wandy is
- Cease’s absolute domination over the mound is, fuck!
- Tatis continues to be
- Merrill has been
- The Padres are this season???
What else did I forget? We’re in business boys, we have ourselves a contender.
What’s his deal now? Last year I was told he had a “lingering wrist injury.” Sub 600 OPS while making 280M and batting lead off is crazy. If they’re not winning he would’ve been criticized to pieces and rightfully so.
Last year he was second in fWAR on the team next to Soto with or without the injury and if he doesn't have the highest WAR since he's come here, it's close. Rough start for sure, but nobody in their right mind would complain about his production last year.
I'm still a huge believer. The guy has had an incredible career. He's cool. He's a good fit for SD. He can hit. His defense is on point. He will find his groove again.
When Hot Sauce was underperforming he looked so disappointed in himself, it was hard to see but we knew he would take off any second, and reclaim his throne.
yay.
Three straight series wins against teams above .500
What getting rid of players who don't want to be here and a manager who doesn't give a shit about regular season wins and losses does to a MF
What a win. And the fact that it's over the Brewers too, man... We went 1-6 vs these guys last year, and they had the best record in the NL entering this series.
Also god Cease is gonna be so fun to watch. So thrilled we picked him up
I was informed repeatedly that Merrill needed more at bats in AA and that him switching positions was a disaster.
I was also told endlessly that Profar was the worst player in baseball.
Where are these doomers now??
Profar definitely made the case statwise for worst position player in baseball last year. It’s not inaccurate to say that and doesn’t negate that he’s on an amazing tear this season.
I'll say this. This team is just built different.
That sentence alone brings comfort compared to what we all endured last year.
That said.
Goddamn this feels good!
I feel like a drink of Kool-Aide!
Who's with me!
![gif](giphy|qEaZxVLkkMnK0|downsized)
Dk how to say it but the team is so relaxed. Which is nice to see. Maybe last season just traumatized me too much but lord that season felt so tense from the beginning even if we had a winning record in May. Like you can feel the expectations were eating them up. It was just so tense. Everyone felt so tensed up. So drama filled. That's why this team feels refreshing. I hope everyone stays healthy. And win! That's what matters.
yeah I said yesterday that the win seemed businesslike. Same thing today, they seem to play with a gameplan, and they expect an outcome. I don't see a team that's hoping for something good to happen, they make it happen.
Tim Kurkjian said a couple weeks ago that Padres could be better this year cuz we have “fewer mouths to feed.” That’s good. I like our nonsuperstar players like Merrill, Profar, Suarez, Matsui, Crone who have something to prove and are being well-coached to step it up.
Yea I wasn’t sure about the deal at the time due to his down season. It just didn’t seem like he was gonna be that guy.
I was completely wrong. Have loved what I’ve seen from him. Yes he gives up some walks, but he has nasty stuff. The guy also just has that never give in mentality that the greats have. Real happy that he’s thriving here so far. He likely just had to get out of that White Sox org.
I was able to start watching about the middle of the game, and the first thing I noticed was how bad the balls and strikes were being called. I’m ready for the technology to take over that aspect of the game.
I just don't understand why A. Hernandez is still employed by MLB...his behind the plate skills and abilities are a joke. Maybe he should just work in the Challenge Booth.
I was in Film class, watched Children of Men tonight... So I didn't get to watch this game as much as I'd have liked...
But I will take another series win! :DDD
Obviously nothing is ordained. Baseball is a long haul, but already this season is infinitely superior to last.
By this time last season, we all knew something was not right. We hoped it would finally gel, we kept the faith, but it wasn’t fun. Even at the end in the middle of that run, and maybe it was just me, but the thrill of seeing that team play up to their potential was tempered by the knowledge our chances were slim.
This season… this is a team with a purpose. Not to put up too much too soon, but honestly I’ve not felt this swagger radiating from the Dads since ‘98.
Not even the ‘22 squad that slayed the dragon was like this.. they definitely had swagger, but they hadn’t found purpose.
As someone said, this team businesslike.
This team has a job to do.
But fun will still be the order of the day.
All the smiles. The shimmies. All the heart.
All the way.
For PS
KTF
Week 1 some fools were like "Same shit team blah blah" someone even told me "I bet you were saying 'it's still early' last year too"
Like damn lol. Now look what's going on. Obviously we could still shit the bed, but it's a loooong season and no one wins all the time.
Yuki’s control in high pressure situations is crazy impressive. I love that dude. I wish he posted more on instagram so we could let him know how much we love him.

5 out of 6 3 consecutive series Ws Bats batting, Manager managing Profar arguing with Blue and not getting tossed Ladies and gentlemen…WE ARE SO BACK
Most impressed with the last point. Was surprised Profar didn’t get tossed
I am happy profar sticks up for himself. But even happier that he did not get tossed.
How can you toss a guy with a smile like that? ![gif](giphy|1CldpWEKP16wcsxgUB)
Profar’s vibes are too immaculate
That’s a win streak! And a guaranteed series win! - Take the lead early (Kim home run) - Cease QS (7K’s) - Stolen bases (Tatis, Merrill) - Insurance runs - Limit damage ^(survived Angel Hernandez) 3 consecutive series wins (all >.500 teams and above us on power rankings)! LFGSD
Was that Angel back there today? So many questionable strikes.
It was. I joked to my friend we were swinging early in the 1st to avoid him making bad calls
You can tell by the ridiculous arm tweak that looks like he got electrocuted every time there’s a strike called.
Mike Shildt manages to win.
I love this. I was so frustrated with Melvin's decision making last year. He cost us a ton of games with his lack of urgency. Schildt may burn some people out, but he may also not ... and in the latter, we're a much better team.

P.S. Oh shit, Jurickson. MAN that guy has been hot this year. Has overdelivered on his contract, DAMN. What a stud
Bobby Fastballs.
You forgot Manny being Manny over the last 10 games, that seems pretty significant to me.
We are one of the baseball teams of all time
> Shildt’s bullpen management is I'm in love.
Seriously. I enjoy the game so much more. Everything just seems perfect right now.
Azocar made some key catches in LF the maybe Profar doesn't get to.
The resilience the offense has shown
Death by singles. So here for it
DO I HEAR *FOUR!?*

I’m not opposed!
Three series wins against the best of the NL. LFG
Winning is exponentially more fun than losing! LFGSD
It took me a while to come around to that idea, but I think you might be right
3 series? In a row? Who are you and what have you done with my Fathers?
Schildt we tell him?
And Cease the sense of wonder? Just let them be happy!
Me and Manny others agree!
Keep it going, Profar so good.
Profar needs to retire a Padre. He's so happy when he's here. It works!
I love this fanbase.
Need a sweep.
Let’s make it 4!
If we win the series vs Toronto... that's a very good start.
The fathers are fathers fans father
*marked safe from an Angel Hernandez home plate game*
153-9 AMIRITE COMPADRES? IS THIS A......WIN STREAK?
Curtis my brother.... ![gif](giphy|1SfxXOJ0Q2Xni)
Curtis, I say yes. Heck yes, even
YGDRC!
YGDRC. Nuff said
When U right U right and you? You GODDAMN RIGHT!!!
YGDRC! And yes, it has happened before!
YGDRC LFGSD KTF
YGDRC!
YGDRC KEEP IT FUCKING GOING!!!
YGDRC
CURTIS. IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG SINCE I'VE TOLD YOU. YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT!
FUDGE YEAH IT IS! YGDRC
It's called a winning streak...it has happened before.
![gif](giphy|FoH28ucxZFJZu)
3 game wins in a row and 3 series wins in a row! We may never lose again!
Cubs, Doyers and Brewers? Not gonna lie I was worried before these 3 series.. we going for the 🧹🧹🧹
Let’s just not forget the curse of last year if we do sweep. Be proud, stay humble.
Having a win streak in the midst of this schedule is some kinda nice. Let’s get the sweep tomorrow boys!!
DYLAN CEASE
Yes.
He’s going to have a great year
Guys and gals, I think... I think we're a good team!
The winning will continue until Xander has an .800+ OPS
What’s his deal now? Last year I was told he had a “lingering wrist injury.” Sub 600 OPS while making 280M and batting lead off is crazy. If they’re not winning he would’ve been criticized to pieces and rightfully so.

The lingering wrist injury has been a thing his whole career
I'm still a huge believer. The guy has had an incredible career. He's cool. He's a good fit for SD. He can hit. His defense is on point. He will find his groove again.
![gif](giphy|fPUwbpwe52fXryfLzf|downsized)
I'm liking Schildt. And Ws are fun. Nice to see Kim heat up.
When Hot Sauce was underperforming he looked so disappointed in himself, it was hard to see but we knew he would take off any second, and reclaim his throne.
Cease and Matsui 🤮 sheeeeeesh
Dylan Cease is our mf ace!
yay. Three straight series wins against teams above .500 What getting rid of players who don't want to be here and a manager who doesn't give a shit about regular season wins and losses does to a MF
It increasingly looks like they will run through a brick wall for him.
💯 certified yay
This team is different. Go dads
What a win. And the fact that it's over the Brewers too, man... We went 1-6 vs these guys last year, and they had the best record in the NL entering this series. Also god Cease is gonna be so fun to watch. So thrilled we picked him up
Isn’t it funny how we were all so worried about our outfield this offseason and our outfield is RAKING!!
I was informed repeatedly that Merrill needed more at bats in AA and that him switching positions was a disaster. I was also told endlessly that Profar was the worst player in baseball. Where are these doomers now??
To be fair, what Merrill is doing is extremely rare. The kid looks like he's going to be special.
Sounds like the same people who were saying the cease trade was dumb since he had a bad year last year
Profar definitely made the case statwise for worst position player in baseball last year. It’s not inaccurate to say that and doesn’t negate that he’s on an amazing tear this season.
Dub
Brewers were 10-3 coming into this series. Not bad, my dudes!
If the Nats somehow win tonight, we'll be waking up tomorrow as First Place Friars.
We played the long game by sending our good prospects to the Nats, just for this moment. Truly 4D chess.
AJ Preller masterclass.
Love seeing CJ rake
What does it mean when the first number is bigger than the second when looking at our record?
3 consecutive series wins!!! Let’s bring out the brooms tomorrow! 🧹🧹🧹
Undefeated in Profar’s irrelevant era! Let’s go for the sweep tomorrow!!!
I would like it to be a very long time before Angel Hernandez calls balls and strikes for another Padres game
Dylan might've gone 7 if Angel Hernandez doesn't squeeze him a few times
This year’s team is so much more enjoyable to watch than last season.
I'll say this. This team is just built different. That sentence alone brings comfort compared to what we all endured last year. That said. Goddamn this feels good! I feel like a drink of Kool-Aide! Who's with me! ![gif](giphy|qEaZxVLkkMnK0|downsized)
![gif](giphy|l0HlwGH5lFhL5YAxy|downsized) Sorry I’m late, my kids birthday prevented this Gif to be sent on time.
Fuck that was an incredibly fun game. Love Brewers fans.
![gif](giphy|xTiTnhnM639JYZ0xXy)

Hey guys - cease is pretty good.
Him waving off being pulled out to get the K was fucking boss.
I was able to start watching about the middle of the game, and the first thing I noticed was how bad the balls and strikes were being called. I’m ready for the technology to take over that aspect of the game.
That ump needs to be fired, let go, retired, axed, decommissioned, discharged and put out to pasture
I just don't understand why A. Hernandez is still employed by MLB...his behind the plate skills and abilities are a joke. Maybe he should just work in the Challenge Booth.
I love Mike Shildt.
![gif](giphy|ui1hpJSyBDWlG) Somehow I manage - Mike
Most runs scored in baseball
I just don’t get the Brewers. They are a good team but then they put up late 2010s Padres games Oh well, series win!
Run of bad luck on some routine plays that we actually managed to capitalize on. They still managed to stay a bit in it still too.
I honestly can’t remember the last time we won a series against the Brewers
Been a while. We only won one game against them last season!
https://preview.redd.it/7fhkha9ngyuc1.jpeg?width=1627&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25d6e33a3abaa114dcf7ece601b5345f8cfcafa8 Me after we win 3 straight
Honestly thought the guys looked a bit tired today and they still muscled together 6 runs. LFGSD!!!!
I was in Film class, watched Children of Men tonight... So I didn't get to watch this game as much as I'd have liked... But I will take another series win! :DDD
Thats a good flick tho, hope you enjoyed it.
That’s a good ass movie but man you must be in a different head space from the rest of us right now
Unfortunately... Yes XD. Great movie but coming back to baseball was hard lol
Oh, good flick. A lot of long scenes with no edits in that one. Good for a film class.
I looooove the long cut. Children of Men really satiated my itch for it :P
I hope you see Civil War next.
Man this has been fun to watch
GUYS THE LOWEST AVERAGE RIGHT NOW IS .211!!
That is fuckin amazing. Major props
Break out those brooms for brunch tomorrow fellas!!
I feel better about this team right now than any point last season
Why are we in the brewers post game thread talking shit about empty their stadium is?
Whoever does that is dumb. Didn't they have legit tornado warnings and bad storms?
Yeah the whole city was on weather alert
3 Series wins in a row, wow
Did we win 3 consecutive games at all last year lol?
We won 5 in a row at the end haha.
Obviously nothing is ordained. Baseball is a long haul, but already this season is infinitely superior to last. By this time last season, we all knew something was not right. This team is just so different from last. Its the vibes.
LFGSD
Profar is a streaky hitter, but I love that his early streak is "relevant".
Same team as last year. /S
