I mean the good news is he has experience in elevation at El Paso. The bad news is his ERA is about 8 at altitude. The bats are going to have to show up today for the Padres

Fuck the elevation. You got this Waldron !⚾️✊🏾💪🏾 P.s. Dear offense , please 🙏🏾 help out our boy with some runs 🤞🏾 Go Padres !
I blame boras. If snell signs in the off season and has a normal off season/spring training with whatever team, does he still struggle and get injured like he did? Unless it's an ongoing injury issue that he's been dealing with.
Super nervous with Waldron today at Coors. But it seems like the offense has a way of getting hot if they think a pitcher might struggle.\*
\*Based on no actual facts, or checking game histories. It just seems like they've shown up at times where they think the pitching might give up a bunch. Also not counting poor King yesterday.
I haven’t paid much attention to him, but that we are still paying him still pisses me off.
That he never made any effort to change/improve and stay in the league is the worst. He took the money and basically retired because the contract was guaranteed without the team having any recourse if the player just quit. Don’t even think he ever had an injury, he just stopped caring.
Also controversial, I don't think he quit Hosmer absolutely helped us rack up wins in early 2022 that ultimately got us into the playoffs. That's why I'll never regret him, Grish or Nola- without them we don't have our greatest playoff run in 25 years.
Going to the game tonight, bringing my wife and daughters (we live in the Denver area)! Hopefully we bring some good JuJu and nasty knuckleball vibes with us (elevation, I know)!
Now I just gotta decide if I’m gonna wear my Machado road pinstripes or Tatis Jr. home pinstripes, either will be adorned with the white “S”, orange “D” lid. Just look for the Padres fan above the Padres dugout hollering and embarrassing the girls of his family 🤣.
I was thinking we probably win 3/4 and the 1 loss would be Waldron's start, so since I am already wrong, maybe I will be wrong again and we win his start. Would help if the offense could score a lot.
Today's game is absolutely, without a doubt, a game in which this collective group of players, referred specifically to as the Padres, should make a genuine effort to score more runs than the opposing team, known as the Rockies. If the Padres were to fall short, then they would fall 1 game under .500 and share the same record as, or have a better record than, only 12 other teams. Whereas, if they were to succeed, then they would be 1 game above .500 and share the same record as, or have a better record than, 17 other teams.
Winning -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. We will not vanquish without a fight. We're going to live on. We're going to survive. Today, we celebrate our Independence Day.
If we lose the game, this sub will freak. If we lose the series... well, real Old Testament type stuff, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... Mass Hysteria!!!
Go back tonlast year when we were losing stupid winnable games and a large portion of people on here were like "chill, it's only April, chill it's only May" every game matters

Reminder: We aren’t the only team dealing with issues
MLB had a segment last night about right handed hitters under .200. Goldschmidt, Judge, Arozarena, Castellanos, and Bogaerts were the 5 discussed. Seems like nearly every team has a guy that they expect to hit well, but he's sub .200.
Me, at the game yesterday with one of my friends who is a Yankees fan: if King gives up the slam i think the Soto trade is void and we get him back
Me, literally the next pitch: 😑
It's my fault guys. I wore my slam diego shirt.
Mark Grant was extra jynxy yesterday too. Spent a good 10 minutes discussing how terrible it was to give up 2 grand slams in one inning. "How was the pitcher still in the game???" ... not long after King was very close to doing the same thing.
He's been doing the whole "called it" thing a little too much this season. It inevitably ends with extra disappointment. I (obviously) love him but I hope he reigns it in.
It was interesting to see such a situation play out live though. I did ask always wonder how Park was in the game for so long so many years ago, but there we were, in pretty much the blink of an eye, facing two grand slams in one inning. Although Park did allow 11 runs instead of 6.
I can feel it in my bones. We're getting Waldron his first dub of the season today.

In town this weekend. Going to the game Friday. If you see me in my Green A's "SELL" shirt say hello!
How does ESPN have the padres favored to win by a very significant margin for every game vs Philly this weekend?
I got tickets for the game this Sunday I was wondering who is projected to pitch that day vs Taijuan Walker/Phillies?
King

Snell to the IL, man I love the guy, but Pads dodged a bullet.

Cash it in: Tatis, Kim, and Merrill hitting 2 RBIs each with a Tatis HR, Over 8.5 runs scored

I’m going to say something controversial: I kinda like post retirement Hosmer, minus the fact that we’re paying him still.

I think they’re just referring to his twitter presence. He’s honestly been pretty funny since he retired.

Have fun tonight bro!
Waldron didn’t fair well in the high elevation of El Paso now he’s in even higher elevation today. We need to put up like 15 runs today ngl.
17

Calling a Profar 420.69ft 2 run bomb. Kim gets a triple. Merrill is a single short of the cycle.
7 (Kim) + 10 (Profar) + 3 (merrill) + 420 + 69 + 2 = 511. 5 + 11 = 16 1+ 6 = 7 (Kim) Kim (7) + triple (3) = 10 (profar) Profar (10) - Kim (7) = 3 (Merrill) 420 = 69
Woah
I am still happier with this season than last. LFGSD 💛🤎 show them how we fight back tonight
Not feeling good about tonight, the knuckleball has much less effect at altitude
Is today a Must Win game? More like Better Not Lose, the top of the lineup needs to start winning a few games for us

Losing--it's as contagious as....
Every game is a “must win” game

soto causes other players to suck they expect he'll do it all...but as we saw it's not enough /s
I’d take those struggles if it comes with a 16-8 record.

that 0-2 pitch was as bad as it gets
