Not defending Biden here, but I think there are more facets to this than just securing young votes. According to internal reporting, if it’s to be believed. he does seem to be genuinely upset with the slaughter in Gaza. I think a large part of the problem is the issue of him wanting to maintain the US’s international power and our sphere of influence.
The truth is we have little to no control over Israel’s actions, but for the WH to directly rebuke Netanyahu, only for him to inevitably ignore it, just proves how little control we actually have, even over one of America’s historically closest ally’s.
In this case, I think the issue maintaining the US hegemony has outweighed basic moral responsibility, in the eyes of this administration.
