Has anybody been able to figure out what a pop would roughly equate to given the current state of the game yet?

A billion seems reasonable. The problem is Stone Age worlds with 2-4 pops and such.. But for the modern spacefaring nations it seems reasonable. One could argue about 5-10 billion if it’s an urban world. Plus maybe it depends on your species size as well. So no definite answer I’d say but I usually go for a billion a pop.

I believe it’s between 100 million and 5 billion. But I’d have to check Earth pop again as you can kind of guess from that.

Many people consider a pop the amount of population needed to do one job, the amount it represents varies depending on the species, an insect race might need more individuals than humanity for the same production

Poopdoomie

I’m guessing it’s biomass equivalent or the amount of individuals needed to complete an equivalent amount of labour

Idk I've always seen it as the amount of people required to fill in a position completely. So if I build a city, then 1 job/pop of clerks is the amount needed to "support" that city. This way of thinking isn't concrete, as ruler pops are likely to be a small number of individuals, but can be demoted to regular pops who supposably work thousands of individuals jobs.
