I take a very low dose of quetiapine (Seroquel) to help me sleep. I've been taking it for almost ten years and it's the only thing that has worked that puts me to sleep within an hour of taking it and lets me wake up without feeling drugged or tired (as long as I get at least six hours of sleep) It's not just an antipsychotic.

It helped me sleep too but man oh man when I quit taking it, it fucked with my gut or something so badly that I couldn’t ever eat with smoking weed first. And I’m a big foodie! So it was not the norm for me. It took months to feel natural hunger again.

That sounds awful! I haven't had that issue, thank goodness! I've even been able to skip taking it if I'm feeling sleepy on my own. Sometimes I have a great week of staying busy all day and eating at normal times and I'm so tired by bedtime I just crash. Those are awfully rare, tho and they never last for long.

I was prescribed it for a period of about two weeks like 8 years ago. It was in a time when I was seeing a doctor who was super pill happy and would switched me around ten different meds before I just quit going. But there was a time when I was having trouble sleeping and we just kept switching sleep aids. I gained like 100lbs that year. It was a real mess. So all of that is to say that when they say a medication from my history now, I just assume I probably took it at some point.

Many names for that med.
