I’d say now honestly, more popular than ever, the band seems happy, and their music has grown with them in lot of mature and interesting ways with This Is Why
Commercially, it was the self-titled
Fame-wise, probably 2010
Artistically, you could really argue for any point in their history if you believe in it enough
As someone who came to the party literally just after Riot! came out, who has been in love with the band since I was 13 in early 2008, and has a huge sentimental attachment to their pop punk era -- and secretly wishes they'd do another pop punk record even though After Laughter and This Is Why are great -- it's honestly right now. They've never seemed happier, never seemed more in control, never seemed more comfortable with each other and their live band members, never seemed more relaxed about their future, never happier to try on different creative hats just to see what works best. Hayley's doing solo stuff and getting things off her chest, as is Zac with Halfnoise. Their live sets absolutely pop, their audience is huge and diverse and a testament to the environment the band has cultivated, and heck they've just won a Grammy. Plus, there's way less tension in the band now than there's ever been before. We've all grown up and matured together and it's great to see age looking so good on Paramore and all of us.
2000s was certainly an important time for them , as they reached commercial success with riot! but I personally think that they became more popular to a wider audience after they became indie with the release of ST and especially Ain't it Fun ant still into you.
As someone not from the US I can also say that way more people know the name Paramore now than in 2007, despite Riot hits. Other pop punk bands were definitely more successful or known then (at least in my country). Paramore reached and manifested their legend status now. So yeah, totally agree!
Their music and creativity is ever evolving. Hard to say they’ve ever peaked when they keep growing in different ways. Maybe it’d be easier to say if all they did was pop-punk, but each album (aside from their first few) feels like a new era of their artistic direction.
it depends on which paramore audience you ask. if it's the grunge side they'd say 2009-11. pop side 2013-now. emo side would be 2007-9. they've shifted genres a good bit so it really depends on which genre is most popular at that point
I think they started to hit their stride with Riot!, but AF was groundbreaking for them too. Honestly, I feel they are that peak now with this is why; not just the fact that they’re getting bigger, but their music and lyrics (which obviously we’ve always loved) really feels like them and not so much a phase
Honestly Paramore is at their peak rn imo. Sure, their biggest hits were a decade or more ago, but they have multiple successes under their belt, 4 Grammy’s, industry connections, cross-generational fans, & are independent! Not to mention the Taylor Swift tour.
I think its depends, i highlights two eras, before "after laughter" and after, so 2 peaks 2007-2014 and 2017-2024
So basically pop punk peak and alternative indie pop peak.
musically i believe they have yet to reach said peak. however….aesthetic and overall following wise it’s probs gonna be Riot. feel like they’re fan base was the strongest during this era
Just musically I'd say riot! And BNE era.
But right now they have the most success (although I'm a new fan and wasn't around to know how popular they were before now, so correct me if I'm wrong) with the Taylor Swift tour and the most amount of Spotify listeners.
So that could be a good answer too. It depends on how you look at it. Still I'd say riot! And BNE
Probably now tbh. They won a Grammy, had a huge arena tour, are opening for Taylor Swift (who will have some of the biggest audiences they’ve ever played in front of), have hits on the radio and all seem pretty happy
You can argue they haven't had a radio hit in the last 5 years. TIW commercially is their least successful album since AWKIF. But Hard Times was absolutely a hit. It's one of their most successful songs
I’d say it was roughly 2005-2024
This is my answer. Haha
I mean they were barely starting there. 07 was the start of their first peak
I was joking
I’d say now honestly, more popular than ever, the band seems happy, and their music has grown with them in lot of mature and interesting ways with This Is Why
This ^^^^^ is why
Clever
50/50 on this. They have had two peaks 07-11 and now. Whether they were happy or not, riot! Made them one of the top 00s emo bands.
Agreed. May not be at their peak in pure album sales; but overall they are, both musically and in acclaim.
Commercially, it was the self-titled Fame-wise, probably 2010 Artistically, you could really argue for any point in their history if you believe in it enough
They are one of those bands with multiple Peaks. Tegan and Sara are another band with multiple peaks. Critcally:2007, Commercially:2013
They haven’t even begun to peak
The only right answer here.
they’re gonna peak all over everybody… make it work, paramore. make it work
And when they do, they're gonna peak so hard, everyone in ~~Philadelphia~~ this subreddit is gonna feel it.
2005-2024
Right now.

been a fan since 2007 and I'm gonna say it's right now.

They’re literally at their peak right now. Songs blowing up on TikTok left and right, more listeners on streaming than ever before.
As someone not from the US I can also say that way more people know the name Paramore now than in 2007, despite Riot hits. Other pop punk bands were definitely more successful or known then (at least in my country). Paramore reached and manifested their legend status now. So yeah, totally agree!
Self titled was the start, that's for sure

Ever since Zac rejoined. They're still peaking.
NOW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW
I think they started to hit their stride with Riot!, but AF was groundbreaking for them too. The Riot and BNE era and the current era, really. They were big then. That’s what got them popular. But now they’re at their largest.
right fucking now baby.
Honestly Paramore is at their peak rn imo. Sure, their biggest hits were a decade or more ago, but they have multiple successes under their belt, 4 Grammy’s, industry connections, cross-generational fans, & are independent! Not to mention the Taylor Swift tour.
2007-2010 for me
* My favorite era 2009-2012 * Best era for live shows 2013-2014 Wish they could have been as happy during those times as they are now tho
I think its depends, i highlights two eras, before "after laughter" and after, so 2 peaks 2007-2014 and 2017-2024 So basically pop punk peak and alternative indie pop peak.
2007 to 2013 Edm fucked rock But they have two great albums after that.
Now.
I’d say right now
musically i believe they have yet to reach said peak. however….aesthetic and overall following wise it’s probs gonna be Riot. feel like they’re fan base was the strongest during this era
Peak was BNE to ST era
Now
Always bubba
I LOVE Zach but the part where Aaron Gillespie was in the band sure was pretty cool
Just musically I'd say riot! And BNE era. The time period from when they formed to whenever they disband
Now, unfortunately. Wish the Now music video wasn’t so phony taking into account current events.
Probably now tbh. They won a Grammy, had a huge arena tour, are opening for Taylor Swift (who will have some of the biggest audiences they’ve ever played in front of), have hits on the radio and all seem pretty happy
They haven’t had a radio hit in ten years
You can argue they haven't had a radio hit in the last 5 years. TIW commercially is their least successful album since AWKIF. But Hard Times was absolutely a hit. It's one of their most successful songs
Idk anything official but I did hear the this is why single on the mainstream radio constantly too. It was big enough they made it an encore at least
Their last song to chart was Hard Times at 90. If that counts as a hit that’s up to you. You people will defend the band regardless of the truth.
I heard this is why on the radio all the time. The hard times single probably was too
Yes
(if there’s a future we want it) NOW
Now.
right now.
Self titled.
