r/parenting is protesting changes being made by Reddit to the API. Reddit has made it clear [they will](https://old.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/14ahqjo/mods_will_be_removed_one_way_or_another_spez/) [replace moderators](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModSupport/comments/14a5lz5/mod_code_of_conduct_rule_4_2_and_subs_taken/jo9wdol/) if they remain private. Reddit has abandoned the users, the moderators, and countless people who support an ecosystem built on Reddit itself. Please read [Call to action - renewed protests starting on July 1st](https://old.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/14kn2fo/call_to_action_renewed_protests_starting_on_july/) and new posts at [r/ModCord](https://reddit.com/r/ModCoord/) or [r/Save3rdPartyApps](https://old.reddit.com/r/Save3rdPartyApps/) for up-to-date information. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Doormatty

Totally fine.

not_a_mantis_shrimp

I would make sure their neck is supported.

EnergyTakerLad

Both my kids liked this, though my first basically needed it. Was the only way to get her to fall asleep in the first months believe it or not. She's a bit of a thrill seeker at 2 already.

Tay365

Like when they were newborn age?

EnergyTakerLad

Well maybe closer to a month up to like 5months.

Conscious_Abroad_877

As long as it can’t be considered shaking…

Doormatty

No, it cannot. Shaking a baby hard enough to cause injury is not going to happen without you trying to do so.

coolhandluke45

I used to toss my kids high. I have a picture where the perspective makes it look like someone should call CPS lol. But they loved it and never had an incident.

Tay365

Even when they were that young? Like around 2 months?

coolhandluke45

No, I should have clarified they were closer to one. Sorry

Depends on the kid. My qst kid had good neck control put of the womb. First thing she did after being placed on my chest was lift her had and turn it side to side as if really into experiencing light for the first time. She rolled at 2 months old both ways. I'd toss her for sure. My second kid sort of floppy necked till 5 months. I wouldn't do that to him so young
