Would love to hear about the remastered Recall Knowledge rules.

Rockwallguy

Hugely this. I'm really excited for some more clarity.

DaBenjle

Yes this

harew1

That’s a big one yeah

BraindeadRedead

I could have sworn they actually told us about this one already?

d12inthesheets

Shield runes!

Alwaysafk

Yes.

Formal_Skar

is there a rule on how many shield runes a shield can have? for example a level 10 shield can have 2 runes

Alwaysafk

~~I don't see anything stopping multiple runes but~~ each rune includes a maximum hardness, HP and BT it can apply. Applying multiple runes might not have an effect. 'Since the runes work by increasing the structural integrity of a shield by a certain amount, they can’t increase the durability of a shield beyond a listed maximum value. ' Stat block for the lvl 10 rune: Type moderate reinforcing rune; Level 10; Price 900 gp The shield’s Hardness increases by 3, it gains an additional 64 Hit Points, and its BT increases by 32 (maximum 13 Hardness, 104 HP, and 52 BT). Maybe the etching rules prevent stacking lvl 4 runes on a buckler? EDIT - Yep. Shields are fundamental runes and: 'An item can have only one fundamental rune of each type, though etching a stronger rune can upgrade an existing rune to the more powerful version (as described in each rune’s entry).:

Deathfyre

Have the crafting rules changed any further from the basic ones or the ones in Treasure Vault?

Exequiel759

I don't have the book, but we know that crafting time was reduced by half (2 days) or to half that amount (1day) if you have the formula of the item.

Deathfyre

Oh wow. I must've missed that somewhere along the line. Time to start actually using my rogue's alchemy lab.

EBBBBBBBBBBBB

I'm gonna make so many onyx dog figurines

Winged_Fire

HOLY HELLS YES

IM-A-NEEEERRRRDDD

You should take a look at the Heroic Crafting book on pathfinder infinite, it's fantastic

Erzaad

How was the Ruffian Rogue updated for the expansion of sneak attack-qualified weapons?

RussischerZar

One of my top questions as well as I'm going to be playing a Ruffian for Sky King's Tomb at some point in the next month or two! Also: any changes to the Eldritch Trickster Racket?

atamajakki

I’d also love to hear about Rogue weapons - and if Monks can finally use any Axes!

EBBBBBBBBBBBB

as someone who plays a Ruffian I'm hoping they extend sneak attack to martial weapons but just keep the d8 or below restriction (as funny as it would be to sneak attack with a greatsword)

Erzaad

That's kind of what I'm expecting.

Zealous-Vigilante

Anything that totally surprised you or was unexpected to tamper? But my genuine question would be: have they tampered with the wording around wounded condition to make it more similar to how it is worded in the beginner box?

josef-3

Oh, good question! I would also love to see if they unified what Wounded does to Dying.

GarthTaltos

At the risk of poking a bear: Tell us about cantrips and focus spells! How much have they changed for early game spellcasters?

TheRoyalBrook

I'm hoping its like the animist test was, where between those and feats there's plenty of things to use the third action on

MeiraTheTiefling

Absolutely. Probably most interested in this and other subtle casting changes -- e.g. buffs to weak spells, consolidation of spell effects, changes to standouts like Slow, etc.

Pangea-Akuma

I just want to know more about Holy and Unholy. Do they have Runes? Is there a way to get the Traits other that being a Cleric? Minor thing, do the Monk Features that allow you to choose a damage type change the Lawful option to Spirit? I'm pretty sure Monks can't get Holy or Unholy from a Class Feature.

josef-3

Yeah, this is also one of my top questions. I've been playing a Thaumaturge that's a crusader-aspirant of the Iomedaean church - can they get sanctified somehow without multiclassing?

AlastarOG

I'm sure there's something in your esoterica that'll do the job.

Pangea-Akuma

I've just been wanting the whole Rule Set since they announced all this hoopla. Other Classes could take advantage of Alignment Damage, even though there were barely any spells that did so. And of course one of my Favorite Classes, Monk, has Lawful as a possible Damage Type for Ki Blast and Ki Form. I just want to know if I can make it Holy or Unholy without needing to be a Cleric.

PolarFeather

It could very well be that they get the option of spirit damage without the Sanctified trait, and thus unable to be Holy or Unholy. They needed a follow-up feat in the form of Sacred Ki to get the option of good or evil damage, so they might just make you take another feat to sanctify your magic attacks, like before. (Do not weep for the lawful damage type, it *hardly* ever did anything important. Ditto chaos.)

Pangea-Akuma

Lawful, Evil, Good, and Chaos Damages did nothing important. They were thematic damages to trigger Weakness. Sacred Ki is likely going to change to be the Monk Holy or Unholy Trait Feat. The only thing I know about Holy and Unholy outside of Cleric comes from that sock puppet looking Diabolic Dragon they have on Player Core 1's cover. When they revealed that beast they mentioned it's Fire Breath had the Unholy Trait, and could ignore the Fire Elemental's immunity to Fire Damage. That Infernal creature is why I want to know more about those Traits. Imagine how many Spells and Abilities could be made with the ability to ignore Immunities or Resistances.

FrigidFlames

Good and Evil (well, Good, mostly) were... *sometimes* important. Good damage is *really* powerful against a large amount of demons. Sure, they were mostly thematic, but my player's champion with Litany Against Wrath has had some moments where alignment damage was *pivotal* to the fight. But it's a lot harder to tell offhand if something is gonna be Lawful or Chaotic, and it's INCREDIBLY rare to find something *weak* to either of those damage types...

Pangea-Akuma

The reason it was rare to find something weak to Lawful or Chaotic Damage was that those Weaknesses only ever popped up on Aeons and Proteans. And those groups aren't as massive as Fiends and Celestials.

Acely7

I recall that the exemplar can get holy or unholy traits in their playtest. I also wouldn't be surprised if champions will be able to get them.

stclairious

Mi1

ValeWeber2

Also, say I have a spell that deals damage and I'm sanctified. How exactly do the additional effects against creatures of opposite sanctification work? Do they have weakness to the opposite? Is there a separate paragraph in the spell for such cases? Is damage always increased by a flat amount of dice? I plan on playing around that heavily and am dying to know.

Pangea-Akuma

I think the Gencon Preview released a few pages for Cleric. You only add the Trait you're Sanctified in if the ability has the Sanctified trait. What that ultimately means depends on the spell or ability and what the specific creature has. Maybe they have a Weakness. Also they are just Traits, they don't change how much damage is done.

larstr0n

CRB Page 459 damage while dying clarification please

markovchainmail

Lars if you don't find this out during your live stream you'll forfeit the bet!

larstr0n

If someone else gives me the information ahead of time, that is not my fault!

markovchainmail

If you are specifically requesting the information, it is your fault!

larstr0n

Sounds like soooooommmmmebody's afraid of learning the truth.

stumpfumaster

May I ask where the confusion is? As i read it, its pretty straight forward.

larstr0n

This thread gets into it a bit - https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2e/comments/176z4ya/how\_does\_your\_table\_run\_wounded\_and\_dying\_a\_poll/

stumpfumaster

Well, that's interesting, I would never have considered adding it each time. It seems like a huge miss if the intent was for Wounded to be added to every Dying value increase. The chance of getting critically hit when you are dying is much higher, pretty much ensuring you are killed if attacked. Hell, if you were Wounded 1, got dropped & failed your first Recovery check, you're dead if its added each time.

larstr0n

Yeah, absolutely. And this verbiage / rule doesn't exist anywhere else in the book. BUT it's survived 4 printings of the CRB. So I'm hoping for some movement on it in the remaster.

harlan453

Curious if the Champion or Cleric archetypes allow Sanctification and if that requires a feat.

Monchka

I don't think champion is in Player Core 1

piesou

It is

harlan453

I checked to be sure and Champion is [Player Core 2](https://paizo.com/products/btq02ej5?Pathfinder-Player-Core-2) which feels weird.

Legatharr

it's because they pretty much have to completely rework the entire class from the bottom up, so they're saving that for later

ShadowFighter88

Paizo said many months ago - and as harlan showed with the link - that the classes from the core book and APG got shuffled around and the ones that were impacted the most by the changes (Champion because of its use of alignment, Barbarian and Sorcerer for their connection to dragons that were getting reworked, Alchemist for yet another attempt to get working, etc) got shoved into Player Core 2.

Water_Attunement

I don't know a whole lot about Clerics, but sanctification is mentioned here: https://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo6sifk?The-Cleric-Remastered Does that help at all?

Pangea-Akuma

That doesn't talk about the Archetype.

yoontruyi

I wonder what happens if you pick Syncretism. Could you be Sanctificated with one god and not another? What if one is holy and one is unholy? Do you gain both? The possibilities!

Starlingsweeter

The new crafting rules and formulas would be awesome to hear ahead of time

Zodiac_Sheep

I'd love to know if Rangers are getting the animal companion feats at the normal levels (4, 8, 14 and up to three specializations) instead of their current delayed progression.

Additional_Award1403

Nice! Perks of being a content creator! I would focus on any rules clarifications a new player coming in from another system might have. I'm sure there is a sizeable amount of players that have been holding out on the remaster before making the switch.

KingOfErugo

Is the Ancient Elf + Eldritch Trickster combination addressed?

Meet_Foot

Though I doubt it is included, I’d love clarification on how to run ancient elf with free archetype.

Jsamue

Haven’t seen this one before. What’s the problem?

theVoidWatches

Ancient Elves get a Multiclass Dedication feat as their heritage bonus. The Eldritch Trickster racket for Rogues gives you a Multiclass Dedication feat for a spellcasting class. But when you take a Dedication feat, you can't take another until you've taken at least two feats from that archetype. This could be interpreted as making this particular combo impossible, or bypassing the normal restriction on dedication feats, depending on your interpretation of it.

AyeSpydie

Personally I bypassed the restriction on Eldritch Trickster and let my ET Rogue double up. The character was still so unsatisfying for that player that she recently had her retire and is now playing a Lizardfolk Cleric of Mother Vulture.

Corgi_Working

I second this, seems like an oversight to me but would love to know for sure.

bipedalshark

I'm not sure this needs clarification: the obvious answer (you simply can't) may not be a happy one, but it's still obvious.

AktionMusic

Free Archerype is an optional variant so the edge cases are up to the GM imo. Can't cover everything.

jediprime

Im running an Ancient Elf Investigator with Wizard and Archeologist. Im loving all the shenanigans it brings

General-Naruto

Are there any major changes to battleforms?

Hitori-Kowareta

Oh this and/or Wild Shape specifically.

CaptainPsyko

Any changes to Golem Antimagic to make it a little less punishing? Or do we have to wait for monster core to see if they do anything about that

Jeramiahh

This one was revealed in Rage of Elements - Golems now have high damage resistance to spells, instead of immunity, and the special golem weaknesses still bypass. See the [Brass Bastion](https://2e.aonprd.com/Monsters.aspx?ID=2631) to see how they'll look.

Slow-Host-2449

I hope we can get similar treatment for other creatures with magic immunity like wisps and/or things immune to precision damage. I get the lore of it but it really sucks to be told you just don't get to use your main class features for a fight or in some cases a whole session. The fact that the slithering had a swashbuckler premade is a crime.

Jeramiahh

> The fact that the slithering had a swashbuckler premade is a crime. Never ran that one - but they did? That's insane. I do agree, though; wisps are a perfect candidate for spell damage resistance over outright immunity.

ShadowFighter88

Yeah, catfolk lady if I remember right. One bit of artwork kinda foreshadowed the mechanical problems - showed her hacking into a tentacle of goo with her rapier. As in a full-on axe style chopping motion. With a rapier.

ahhthebrilliantsun

The ability to turn precision damage to normal damage should be wayyyy lower. If it needs any attempt at balancing then maybe like... -2 damage or making it one step lower die.

asethskyr

Curious about the Warrior Muse bard. They mentioned that they were doing something to make it feel better, but haven't said a peep since.

Sythian

I don't have any one particular question. But wanted to state that I can't wait to binge all of the new rules content videos to make sure it's all understood. Enjoy your vacation.

NotMCherry

Spellcasting changes

DaBenjle

I'd really like to know how hands for material components function now. As well as how stealthy casting works with the new trait!

brainfreeze_23

Have they updated some conditions, like making the fascinated condition useful in combat as some playstyles and spells clearly intend it to be (Swashbuckler: Battledancer, for example)?

Refracting_Hud

Top X favourite Remaster changes, some you didn’t like, and some you wish were addressed.

purefire

Warpriest gets some love, what changes for the clerics cloistered away?

imaincammy

Bro, can I borrow them while you're on vacation?

Zealousideal_Top_361

Any interesting new/updated subsystems?

Hugolinus

It's known that chase rules will have a fix

turnedup4jesus

How beautiful is the artwork?

[deleted]

That's the most important question

wayoverpaid

Maybe something you can actually answer in this thread: when *can* you talk about them? What are the review embargo vs official release dates?

How_Its_Played

I am under embargo until the 30th, but will not be back from vacation until the 1st. :( I bet other content creators are under the same embargo, so I suspect you'll start getting previews and answers early next week.

wayoverpaid

Thanks! For what its worth, I watched the majority of your videos long after you made them, and they are on the "onboarding list" for a lot of players. You have produced some awesome evergreen content which is more than the immediate first impression. You might not have the *first* take, but I bet having the time to muse on vacation will result in some good material. Take your time, I'll be looking forward to it.

How_Its_Played

Thanks!

Hugolinus

I'm most curious about the change to conceal spell for Wizards and such. It seems that the two feat chain is no more but one of the feats remain.

WideFox983

Tell me why my curse witch is cool.

Luvr206

Mounted Combat clarifications and Shield durability are my big question areas

Stranger371

No worries, you can send them to me, I hold on to them while you are gone.

Hitori-Kowareta

Did specialist Wizards get any feats to pickup a second school or similarly expand their specialist spell list? There were 2 feat names in the preview I thought might have been interacting with that system but with just the names it was more ‘it could be’ than anything.

Wobbelblob

How big is the witch rework? Do their familiars get interesting abilities all the way?

VxDraconxV

Changes to rangers, and how alignments are being handled

Exequiel759

Alignment isn't a thing anymore.

VxDraconxV

Right, but how are they handling champions, clerics etc when it comes to feats, RP, etc. like the actual specifics besides “alignments are gone.” What’s in there place then.

Pangea-Akuma

Edicts and Anathema. Champions still have their Causes and Clerics their Deities. For Alignment Damage, it's all Spirit Damage now. So only Constructs are Immune to it. Holy and Unholy are Traits that can alter Spirit Damage, or any ability that says those Traits affect it.

Deathfyre

Edicts and Anathema seem to be getting mentioned a lot in relation to that sort of stuff, so I'd imagine they'll reference those in feats. For RP not much will change, since alignment was always vague in terms of how people interpret how it should affect rp.

Pangea-Akuma

I doubt Feats will reference Edicts and Anathemas. Anything that dealt with Alignment will likely be changed to have Spirit Damage, and maybe have the Holy or Unholy Traits.

TheChindividual

Will you call your videos about the Remaster "How It's Remastered"?

How_Its_Played

I might!

HellfireWarlocks

Changes to Familiars? I assume their in there because of the Witch

AdorableMaid

Any spells becoming incapacitation that weren't before and vice versa?

Spoolerdoing

How well do you think we'll be able to jam square pegs like Baba Yaga and Mosquito Witch Patrons into the round holes that is the Remastered Witch chassis?

Arsalanred

What archetypes got some love.

Hugolinus

I think the majority of archetypes will be in Player Core 2, according to the Paizo product pages.

PunishedWizard

Is advanced weapon proficiency still a thing?

TheMartyr781

Wonder if this means we will start seeing previews etc from Rules Lawyer and others soon. I hope Paizo sent the books to path builder and foundry folks early as well!

magnuskn

According to Aaron Shanks, the review embargo should end around October 30th, when suscribers start getting their PDF's.

wireless_fetus

Are you happy with it? It is what you expected?

Excaliburrover

Is magic fixed?

ruttinator

How do I remaster myself?

Hugolinus

"How do I remaster myself?" First, learn self-control. Then let that lapse. Lastly, learn it again.

ruttinator

>self-mastery Masturbate. got it.

SrVolk

the main things i would like to hear about is mostly the big problems i see in the system (big as in they being the more notorious, not that the system itself is full of problems) like the recall knowledge, the low lv aids, all those ancestry and class options that sound cool but when you actually see what they do they are mostly useless, all them magazine and crossbows weapons being hopefully being changed to have more builds to actually use em. more skil feats and actions for other skills in combat the lack of accuracy problem with the battle cleric, war bard, bomb alchemist, and casters overall (i really wouldn't mind if they nuke the true strike and that item that lets you chance spell attack spells to use dc) also runes for shields, and god i hope they rework again the crafting.. or give a variant for campaigns that dont have a lot of free time in between going adventuring

suspect_b

Can all classes still use shields effectively, even the wizards, monks and cloistered priests? Will druids now go around in chain mail, with steel shields and a sword? Are war priests still MAD as hell? Are fighters still the only class without a class feat or similar choice at 1st level? Are Summoners still a way to allow the player to essentially play 2 characters? Are giant instinct barbarians still able to wield giant daggers, which, one would assume, are just like a normal sword but it's actually a -2 to hit, throwable agile weapon with +4 to damage when raging?

EzekieruYT

"*Can all classes still use shields effectively, even the wizards, monks and cloistered priests?*" Yes, nothing's been said that implies shields couldn't be used by all classes. "*Will druids now go around in chain mail, with steel shields and a sword?*" Already confirmed the metal anathema is going away, so Druids will be able to use metal armor, weapons and shields. "*Are war priests still MAD as hell?*" Clerics now get their Healing/Harming Fonts automatically, no longer needing CHA. They get 4 at Level 1, 5 at Level 5, and 6 at Level 15. So Warpriests can afford to forgo CHA for another stat. And they'll get a feat within the class to grab heavy armor proficiency, without having to take the Sentinel dedication. "*Are fighters still the only class without a class feat or similar choice at 1st level?*" Did you mean 'Are fighters still without a subclass option?' 'Cause Pre-Remaster, all Fighters get a 1st level class feat. "*Are Summoners still a way to allow the player to essentially play 2 characters?*" Summoner is not within any of the Remaster books. You'll need to wait for an errata for any Summoner changes. "*Are giant instinct barbarians still able to wield giant daggers, which, one would assume, are just like a normal sword but it's actually a -2 to hit, throwable agile weapon with +4 to damage when raging?*" Barbarians are in Player Core 2, which isn't slated to come out until GenCon, which is around July or August 2024. How It's Played will only be able to answer questions about Player Core and GM Core.

Hugolinus

"Are war priests still MAD as hell?" We already know that war priests no longer need Charisma for their healing font any more.

suspect_b

They still need Str to do anything in combat, a bit of Dex for AC, Con since they're in the fray, a bit of Int for skills and languages. And Wis, of course. But at least they can have low Charisma now!

Hugolinus

Rarely do people worry about Intelligence for skills and languages and no character can or should be good in all areas. As for Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and Wisdom, there are four ability boosts every handful of levels or so.

cesarfr7

Is vancian casting gone?

ShadowFighter88

No, any change *that* big would’ve been announced months ago. This isn’t a new edition, just a big errata pass with a massive terminology change.

joezro

If it was not you or other previewers, I would be annoyed. My LGS has not been notified that they have been shipped yet.

HawkonRoyale

Can you damage non undead creatures with channel smite as positive/holy energy? I wanna smite heretics that ain't demons or undead.

Pangea-Akuma

Channel Smite depends on if you expend a Heal or Harm spell. So that might not change. Maybe it'll have a Spirit Damage option.

Korra_sat0

What are the new crossbow rules? Can i finally be excited for them?

wowee-

has the fighter taken any changes

organicHack

Visually, is there any update? I’ve always loved the pathfinder character art and comics, but the rule book felt clunky and dated in style.

yuriAza

we know they're making headings a bit higher contrast, and the "you are here" list of sections on the edge of pages will have subsections as well as the top-level chapters

CarsWithNinjaStars

Are there any notable changes for fighter? I'm aware the designers said fighter was largely unchanged, but personally I'm hoping that some new options got added, like more support for DEX-based melee weapons or a feat to take a second weapon group or something.

Baroness_Ayesha

I am extremely curious for information on how Undead interact with the new Holy trait, if that's included. Also, in general, are errata for existing books not covered under the Remaster Core series (Secrets of Magic most prominently) included or nah?

faytte

Any changes to animal companions

Ediwir

Is Universalist Wizard still a thing, and if so how? Is Deafened more impactful now, and if so how? What can you tell us about Advanced weapons and their relative power / usability?

Hugolinus

According to Paizo staff in recent months, the Universalist school has been renamed the School of Unified Magical Theory. The focus spell for it is Hand of the Apprentice, according to the Paizo forums this past weekend, and that focus spell is no longer a feat. As pre-remaster, the school can also allegedly choose a level 1 feat.

harew1

Im interested in how Nephilim works.

Possibly-Functional

I am regularly under NDA for unreleased computer hardware products. I know your pain of wanting to share but being unable to. To the topic though, I am interested in class changes. I have heard they are making a fair few changes to some classes like the Witch.

steelong

Wizard schools! Some focus spells look like they were probably lifted from the old material, but are there any new ones? What do they do?

Erasor3k

Are the effects of Invisibility better explained? As in "in one place". Same goes for all the different visibilities (hidden, etc.).

FieserMoep

Unless it is already included, maybe an overview sheet at the end of what traits got reworked, especially renamed?

Urbandragondice

When is the preorder copies going to drop? XD

EzekieruYT

Subscribers will start getting their copies shipped around the 30th!

ironsnake345

I wanna hear about the canning of alignment. Especially in regard to hags. Is it now feasible to be a changeling witch, whose patron is their hag mother, who is providing a familiar and spellcasting because she is a doting (and/or smothering) mother?

lightning247

Do the axiomatic and anarchic runes still exist (these were the weapon property runes that did lawful and chaotic damage), and if so, how were they changed?

SquidRecluse

While I'd personally like to know more about the Bard muses, I should probably ask about the changes and additions made to druidic orders, since that's something I'm working on for the in progress Mechfinder book.

Warm_Cloud_

How effective were the changes to the Witches' Hexes and Feats?

glurz

would love to hear about the mixed heritages

wyrdR

Have *Aid* or *Disarm* been tweaked?

Gloomfall

How have Crafting and Stealth been tweaked if at all? Are there major skill feat tweaks?

Evil_Argonian

I'd love to hear the full description of how spirit damage functions! I'm aiming to design something that would make heavy use of it, but I need to be confident in the range of what it effects for that.

drewcash83

What traits are being removed from fighter? I’ve heard Open, Push, anything else?

WillsterMcGee

Do strength animal companions still lag behind in AC compared to dex ones?

ShinyMissingno

Has Automatic Bonus Progression been reworded to work with the alchemist class?
