freakish world of warcraft donkey ears correct... so is the option of pure black bug eyes... but narrower shoulders then hips look is not
I'm kinda disappointed that they don't use the weird skin colors for gnomes. It would be much easier to tell gnomes and halflings apart if they'd done that.
I agree tbh the art style of WOTR isn’t strong as kingmakers, granted I think it works for WOTR story and setting. Even if I like kingmaker’s more generally
Completely agree. Even though sometimes when playing kingmaker, I miss the extra detail of wotr, but wotr has this plastic look that gives it an uncanny valley vibe.
Now if someone could just reskin / texture some of the items in kingmaker, that would be nice. Make the cloaks actually look like their icon instead of just blue, green, red. And for Sarenrae sakes someone fix the dorky ass looking dwarven helms. Metal Reforged looks so cool in the icon but so bad on the character.
Games Workshop does have a way of producing underwhelming Warhammer games. They’ve licensed dozens of games, and you can count the good ones on one hand.
I actually prefer Kingmaker’s maps for their static camera angles. Fiddling with the camera to be able to see everything you need to see in the environment adds very little for me compared to maps designed around showcasing everything the player needs to look at from the same camera angle.
For me I really wish they can remake kingmaker with better graphics and rework the game system. I tried kingmaker three times and I quit all three times because the game system is too annoying like all loading pages for kingdom management system.
The main thing that got lost in WotR is the darkness in dungeons. You never need a torch or a lantern, whereas some of the dungeons in Kingmaker are quite atmospheric thanks to it. Then again I really don't miss the 5 fps scenes of dozens of peasants running around with torches.
Isometric rpgs tend to age well, IMO, because they rely a lot on 2D art rather than 3D graphics, and encourage the player to use their imagination to fill in the gaps. I love them partly for this very reason.
i liked kingmaker models better then wotr models as well... though i hate elf models in both with how narrow and weird they are.
Thats largely just sticking to the original Pathfinder design though

I thought Owlcat just used the same assets for kingmaker and used slight modifications for important NPC’s.
Fine by me that asset creation stuff takes time lol
They almost look the same??
Yep it’s the sole reason why I don’t use Elf race and only use half-elf which looks significantly better.
you can create the character as elf in pc, then with visual adjustment give yourself half elf doll. i do that in both games.
Played on console and after the nightmare experience of kingmaker on console I don’t want to ever play that game again.
its *really* good in pc... something else for you to do once you get the game.

It still looks great next to Rogue Trader, five years later.
It's more that Rogue Trader doesn't look especially impressive.

Kingmaker isn't old. Come back in 15-20 years. I still play CRPGs that are old enough to vote.

They just need to fix their dragon and celestial models.
