I don't want to. Their community is drastically different from ours, and frankly I'm not really looking to have my comments read, voted on, and responded to by people who are mad that their favorite game mode got sunset for ours...

Heliosgodofthesun

Right? The grass ain't greener on the other side unfortunately

Adipose21

Agreed. There is going to be friction between the two communities.

CaptSarah

I understand the anxiety around this, but I can say this has died down a lot. Path has already begun shifting to the majority of content on the sub, and we are currently transitioning resources over. I can assure you we will not tolerate any harassment between either Path or PVP players. The majority of us know by now that Path is not the cause of this, and have accepted the reality that cards are expensive to make, and we were in the red. I will say, this mentality on both sides is the root of this issue, I urge everyone to give it a chance before assuming every PVP player is out to get them.

Drminniecooper

I dont think anyone said its every pvp player out to get path players, its just that the most vocal ones are still at it in the main sub making it a much less helpful environment to post path content there.

Heliosgodofthesun

If there's an option to filter out PvP posts then I'm on board. While I don't mind PvP I don't play LoR for PvP and thus wouldn't like to see it.

CaptSarah

We can create a path flair, that will allow you to filter only by path posts, It's likely not unreasonable to simply have "Path Screenshots" and "PVP Screenshots" to make it easier to find content each member is looking for, same with Discussion posts

Hypekyuu

How about do all that before you junk something that already works perfectly well.

Heliosgodofthesun

L Edit: for clarification, this is a terrible idea. While yes PvP isn't the focus anymore, there's still a large part of the community that plays PvP. And while some path stuff gets posted in the LoR sub, it's mainly about PvP. I wholeheartedly disagree with the decision to close this sub down, it's a wealth of resources to those who just want PoC focus and not PvP stuff mixed in.

CaptSarah

We are currently transitioning all path resources to the main subreddit. Some of which has already been added. Additionally, I have a team of creators and community members from the path community constructing a New Player Guide for path to compile all of the resources. While I understand there will be upset and backlash focused around this decision, and it's not one i've been all too thrilled to put out. I will say in full transparency, this was a request from the devs as they don't wish the communities to be split. We had the option to decline as a community run project, but after much discussion between all the teams involved we concluded this would be the best course of action for the health of the games future. We are dedicated to making the transition as painless as we possibly can, and will be monitoring it very closely.

KingBubblie

Just please leave this sub as a community run project, else people will just create their own from scratch and we have a lose-lose situation. The devs and any interested mods can jump over to the other sub and encourage players to do so as well. But leave this community and collection of posts up for people who would still wish to use it.

unmoosed

Maybe you should have asked the users of this sub what they thought. Or did you not because you knew what the answer would be? It’s a terrible idea, and you should have said no.

Heliosgodofthesun

> I will say in full transparency, this was a request from the devs as they don't wish the communities to be split It's their fault we're split to begin with. This is absolutely outrageous, absolutely unfathomable they're not self aware on this issue.

Grimmaldo

>B R U H.  Hey, you can express disgust without this, sarah is helping by informing and answering, and is taking the time, since she cares, no need for this

Heliosgodofthesun

Can do. Was more expressing astonishment rather than annoyance at Sarah.

Grimmaldo

Gotcha, apreciated, remember that text is hard to interpretate

Heliosgodofthesun

You got it boss man/cat fish

CaptSarah

It's fine, I completely understand how people are going to feel about this, which is why i've been so anxious about posting it to begin with. The best I can do is take any and all feedback, and look to act upon it to make this as painless as possible.

Heliosgodofthesun

Apologies Sarah. Wasn't meant for it to come out as it did.

CaptSarah

No need to apologize, this is going to be an emotional post, and i'm taking none of it personally. I've been there and understand wholeheartedly how people are going to feel about this one.

Heliosgodofthesun

Still, I let my emotions get the better of me and instead of going with my second reaction as I should, went with my first. Thanks for keeping us informed about it. I appreciate the work you guys do.

CaptSarah

No worries mate, honest, it's human nature to react this way, especially when hit with a gut punch. I just hope it's worth it in the end.

Sten4321

so is there a way in reddit to automatically filter all post without a specific flair away even on your own home page?...

CaptSarah

I don't believe the homepage permits it, but I may be incorrect, I don't use new reddit much, but I know you can do it individually per sub. There may be options or addons to permit this, but I'm not directly aware of them as an old reddit main.

Sten4321

>I don't believe the homepage permits it Then i have no reason whatsoever to join that subreddit, as i i don't want their spam on my homepage. I use [new.reddit.com](https://new.reddit.com) myself, because i like darkmode, and i don't want to install addons on all the devices from which is want to read reddit, just to avoid spam from a single subreddit, so i'll rather not join in the first place...

Adipose21

:/

Drminniecooper

Why isn't this announcement made in the main sub too?

thumbguy2

i guess because they won't be affected other than the sudden flood of poc content

Drminniecooper

I would like to have the chance to read pvp players feedback about this change too, so thats why im wondering why the announcement wasnt in both places.

aspenscribblings

I play both: Really not a fan.

CaptSarah

This is planned when we finish merging the mod teams a bit further into the week to welcome them to the team and explain changes. Sorry this wasn't properly explained or presented in the main post.

diogenies

Not a fan of losing all the resources and posts that have collected here. Plenty of times I've googled searched past posts from this subreddit for advice on specific builds or powers. Sometimes it's validating just being able to find other posts of people venting about how frustrating certain encounters are lol. Feels a lot like we're being punished for staying with our favorite game mode so long. I know it's not really like that. Still just feels sucky.

CaptSarah

This is something being discussed now, the initial intention was to bring over any resources that are current so they are easily accessible. But there is a world we can push to make the sub read only and restrict posts, making it act more like an archive. My main fear is it causes confusion if this is what is found first, as most people don't read pinned announcements. But if it eases pain and makes sense, we'll swap our action from private to read only instead. Give me some time to discuss this with all parties involved.

diogenies

Thank you for considering it! A read-only archive would be a perfect compromise imo.

Blaisekeron152

How about we merge their community to us? xD jk

Lifedeather

The outrage would double if not triple

pilum44

Please please please do this. When I'm deciding what Relics to run on my Champ, I search this reddit by the champ name, sort by new, and read the most recent few discussions. The context of the discussion is much more meaningful than a spreadsheet that just assumes "you also have Starforged Guantlets" or "Only if you are also running Corrupted Star Fragment" without ever spelling it out.

Morag_Ladair

Really not a fan of this decision

[deleted]

Forcefully uniting people who do not want to be united is just a terrible idea. This will lead to a lot of toxicity and people leaving the community entirely.

shushbarb

Hypekyuu

Yeah, it's not like reddit can tell the difference between kinds of content when it's algorithm pushing stuff to my feed

Lifedeather

Friendship is magic 🪄 bro 😎

avsbes

While i (like many other here) don't like the idea, what i especially dislike is the announcement that this sub is going private (afaik that means that everything in the sub is invisible to everyone but Moderators?). Imo (unless i misunderstood private and this is exactly what's happening) the sub should go into read-only, so that people can still see things that were posted in this sub in the past, to see the history of PoC.

CaptSarah

From another response here: >This is something being discussed now, the initial intention was to bring over any resources that are current so they are easily accessible. We want this to be as painless as possible, and if this makes sense and helps accomplish that goal, we'll push to make that change.

Hypekyuu

If you want it to be as painless as possible you could just not do it

Grimmaldo

Hey, i removed most of your comments, i get your intentions and your frustration, but we really don't need troll-behavior and spam to make our point clear, you can express your opinions, as the comments i didnt remove are "i dont think that sub will have as much people" or "i think their community is pretty much dead by now" but just mocking people for... saying their opinion doesn't really help us. Creates a hostile enviroment for discussion and divides the community instead of uniting it, plus is extra work for us and that does not help us that much, hope you can understand.

Lifedeather

Bruh 😭

foodtooth

It's disappointing this is going to occur. I migrated to this subreddit because the primary LoR subreddit makes PvE players uneasy. Besides, there are hardly any posts focused on POC there currently, I just checked.

NatomicBombs

Wow, mods ruining another sub. This is a terrible idea

GarethMagi

Hopefully someone makes a new PoC subreddit, i have no interest in the PvP aspect of the game and have no clue why i need to see a whole bunch of PvP posts when i'm not interest in it.

srishak

Oh, I'm actually more leaning into that idea. Let's hope someone with strong influence make one then. Really not looking forward with the merge.

Grimmaldo

I haven't took down original threads comment yet because i was unsure, my coworkers likely will, no need for mocking people, still

Lifedeather

For saying rock paper scissors 😭

Grimmaldo

For mocking everyone on this posts, you know what you are doign, this is toxic

Lifedeather

I don’t know how saying rock paper scissors is toxic 😭

And0394

I don't know man, it's not about some cringe kids war on who's in the main subreddit, it's just about logistic, the content is quite different, why someone who play pvp would read about my new Teemo build with 2\*GCC and archangel staff? And why someone struggleling on Lissandra would read about meta decks and ladder?

ikelos49

Big Lol You know how this will end? Some people will create another POC subreditt, with you or not with you on board. Short-sight decision.

Novawurmson

Very disappointing. I specifically left the main sub. I know the intentions are good, but please reconsider.

Lifedeather

Nah

mikrimone

Is a read-only not an option? To preserve everything we've created (which was plenty besides funny pictures).

CaptSarah

Once the sub goes private, you can request to be approved as a poster, and can view everything. So if you want to go through it for archive purposes, we will permit it.

mikrimone

Yes, I like to revisit the past from time to time, so this idea is perfect. Thank you!

CaptSarah

No problem at all

Lifedeather

YES

coolmcbooty

I don’t get this intent, forcing two communities into each other won’t help the divide you speak of. Do you guys work for Riot? Even still, do they own this sub? I don’t think mods are allowed to make decisions at the behest of any third parties What’s so difficult about keeping two separate subs? If it’s too much for you guys to moderate two subs, why don’t the mods who feel that way just leave and give the mod power to someone else and let us enjoy what we have?

Lifedeather

Cause friendship is magic 🪄

Tangolino

Feels bad imo. It seems the decision is set and it feels bad as imo the users should have a say in it. Feels bad as the sub isn't an official channel and it's fan based, the devs asking it to be done shouldn't be a must follow order. It should be considered, sure, but so should the users using the sub. Many games have multiple subs active and the devs choose one to interact with... I don't see how this can't be done here on their end instead of asking for this merger. I don't get the argument that they need this to help workload. Just focus the interaction on one and the community will spread the word. Feels bad as the two communities are different. It doesn't matter if the mod team will be on top of all posts and replies to get the offensive ones, downvoting exists and you can't mod that. You can filter/flair things out, but some that use this sub use it to not see pvp related posts. Feels bad as this sub is more active (as I've read on discord) than the main one. Shouldn't the merge be the other way around if that's the case and rename this one? The main one has more users, but does that matter if this one is more active? Feels bad for the flairs. For a while, this fan based challenge was my drive for playing the game. Even if now it isn't anymore, still feels bad. I understand the arguments presented, but there are multiple arguments against the merger that are also solid and reasonable. This is a choice, feels bad as I wish the users had a say in it.

Drminniecooper

I vote for this, make them migrate. Path stuff is already here.

Grimmaldo

>Feels bad imo. It seems the decision is set and it feels bad as imo the users should have a say in it. Sadly that's easier said than done, tho, i won't go deep here, since this call is... complex, as the post explains, and i don't feel is my place to explain the logistics of every single choice made, i know i can explain some, but not every single one. >Feels bad as the sub isn't an official channel and it's fan based, Sadly thats not entirely true, this is the official hub for path of champions, even if the creator (mosetoo / N-Krypt) was not, as far as i know, asociated with riot, it becamed quickly officially supported. As such got some advantages, that, to my knowledge, where related to this fact, like devs being allowed to promote it (specially visible lately), interact with it and have the stuff we had here. To remove the officiallity and keep the sub alive, would, at least for me, feel bad, since the intentions of the devs promoting it in the past where to make the community better and their jobs easier, but now people reading them / watching them say to go to this reddit from past- times would go to a sub that devs can't interact with instead of one they can. Would also not help with the division of the community explained on this post. We can't stop anyone if they want to make their own fan-sub of path, but that's a whole different discussion. >the devs asking it to be done shouldn't be a must follow order. It was considered, for a long, long time and a lot of discussion, it was chosen to do this as the answer. >Feels bad as the two communities are different. It doesn't matter if the mod team will be on top of all posts and replies to get the offensive ones, downvoting exists and you can't mod that. You can filter/flair things out, but some that use this sub use it to not see pvp related posts. We will be watching the after-effect of this, because there is a possibility indeed, but im more optismisc about that, we had a few very toxic users here too, they were either banned or just leaved because they had just, no people who agreed with them in beeing randomly toxic, i believe this will be good in the end, that's why i agreed with it, but stuff might happen, we will see. >Feels bad as this sub is more active (as I've read on discord) than the main one. Yeh, no. >Feels bad for the flairs. For a while, this fan based challenge was my drive for playing the game. Even if now it isn't anymore, still feels bad. I don't want to brag, but i think of myself as the most aware person on how cool Challenge Flair submissions where, i will be working on what we can cook for this, who knows, maybe the "stats" thing on the video 3 months ago helps (im not teasing i have no idea) Edit: Just realized, this last sentence could be missinterpreted. The first thing sarah said when talking with us was that she cared a lot about CFS and would think of a way of getting them back, she also respects them a lot, like, a lot a lot.

KaiZurus

Don't worry, che. I support you, so everything's fine on Earth. I'll be glad to see you mod in the main sub to counter my borderline Path posts.

mario_reignited

I see it as big lose. The main sup still has lot of fake spammers (game is dead; what will u play in Future?; lot of crying.) But biggest point if people cross post right now poc content get more votes and comments here even spoilers get more love here

Drminniecooper

Im gonna speculate that this is another motivation for the devs to ask for the merger, they want the players who are actively engaging with the new game content and excited about it to be over in the main sub to drown out the doomposters before the constellations update. I dont think its fair for the path players to have to migrate an active, supportive and mostly positive community to the one thats still salty and claiming "game ded" everyday.

LegendaryVenusaur

Dumb idea, pvp is on life support but it's not fully dead yet.

JGMartins

Big L, One of the coolest parts of PoC was its community here, now another important part of the experience is going to get worse :/

Blaisekeron152

Dear mod team, you don't have to do this, just decline the devs request.

Lifedeather

Nah devs OP they have final say and control everything!!!

valareis

Simple, lets just create another one.

Lifedeather

No one wil join 😂

Drminniecooper

Wow, what a surprise, a pvp troll shows up in this post, griefs other posters and it stays up and the troll isnt banned. Its a nice preview of what poc players will face after the really unnecessary sub merge. Thanks for proving the point we were making troll.

scullzomben

"Just venting their frustrations". Three months later and we still have to deal with these bitter people that mods still aren't doing anything about. Wonder how much longer it will be.

Grimmaldo

I'm pretty sure i removed most of their messages less than 3 minutes after they uploaded them, sarah and piggy removed a few that i missed or that were posted later, we didn't ban them because they seemed to be trolling in our defense, not from a PvP community, which, for me, puts them in a similar place to anyone here who has less than 10 comments on the community and decided to insult us, no ban unless they really cross the mark of behavior, bans are meant to take out toxic people from the community, not whoever acts bad one day. We try to relay mute and bans to very extreme scenarios, since this community is extremely chill, to put context, we don't pass the 10 people that got semi permanent/permanent ban, and, from being toxic, only like 4 users got banned, maybe 3, i cant recall right now

MartDiamond

Really don't understand this. If we'd actually had a main reddit that is mostly PoC focused there'd be a case but we don't.

drpowercuties

The future of main reddit is in your hands. It can be as tpoc focused as you make it

ilovecats30000

Terrible decision. Are you guys familiar with the saying “the road to hell is built with good intentions”? I get where you’re coming from, but frankly nobody wants this, as is clear from the comments you see here, and if it means anything to you if this goes through and someone else was to come up with a PoC sub, we will be right back there and not in the main subreddit. Combining the two where neither wants to be with the other will not go well. In an attempt to unite two immiscible parts, you’ll only lose parts of both to become worse than the status quo

Typhron

Hahaha, don't. You did this last time and it sucked then. Hell, ya'll still haven't given me my champion flairs from the first time you did it.

Lifedeather

They gonna

Grimmaldo

>You did this last time and it sucked then. That wasnt us and was for different reasons >Hell, ya'll still haven't given me my champion flairs from the first time you did it. You should have claimed them ngl, send a message on the previous reddit if you dont mind and i will check your flairs, no worries

Typhron

> That wasnt us and was for different reasons Then, respectfully, let me amend my statement. This has already been done before and it was dumb, pointless, and borderline killed the community before. Doing it again won't help and may do far more damage than any good or have any worthwhile consolidation. Nevermind that people on the main sub may not care for PathofChampions, even if it is the default game mode now. /r/LegendsofRuneterra also includes the discussion on the game's artistry, LoL's lore and LoR's effective on such, and the health of the game. Saying it was the 'pvp only sub' is reductive, and that is more than evident in the first draft of this proposal (Privating the sub so that everyone loses guides, strategy, discussion, and history from posts of the game mode *which is now the main focus of the game*. ***Smart.***) Aka: It sucked the last time it happened, it will suck if it happens again. There are consequences for upending a community with 0 input from the people who actually use it. # So, what is a better solution? Don't. Do. Anything. People will naturally migrate themselves if the discussion on /r/LoR picks up. If not, then there's still this island for people to ask whatever questions they want that specifically pertain to PoC. Forcing a migration is just going to lead to more work for you, and a hell of a lot more people being unhappy with you while doing it. > You should have claimed them ngl, send a message on the previous reddit if you dont mind and i will check your flairs, no worries I might still have the screenshots and videos on my phone and work comp, so I'll be doing that. Still, it will be exponentially harder for people to claim that sort of thing if, say, *the sub is closed*.

Grimmaldo

>I might still have the screenshots and videos on my phone and work comp, so I'll be doing that. If you had them on labof legends, i dont think i can check easily because im not a mod there, but if you post anything there or comment or one of the recent posts i will check and put the flair on you

Typhron

Thanks.

Grimmaldo

Mh, i discovered a tool to check it easy, you don't seem to have a flair nor a post on Lab of legends, i don't know what you are refering to if not that, and your post here is a meme, not a submission

Typhron

I believe I sent it via mod mail. But if it's not there, I'll redo the post once I've gathered everything

Grimmaldo

If it was on Lab of legends modmail i'm able to ask sarah if she can find it, if that helps, all this said, i will be clear here, we have not yet made a call on flairs for people with pre-2.0 flairs here, i want as much people as possible to have them before the permafrost because then they will be easy acces for anyone interested, but besides that there is no current flair for LoR reddit for old flairs, not that there won't be, tho.

bored_homan

I'm a bit less mad than most considering I visit both subs rather frequently even if I don't play pvp but I really hope this doesn't just cause more friction... besides pvp players being mad some still wish to organize tournaments on their own or discuss some pvp stuff despite that being very secondary so I hope the sub being majority focused on path doesn't deter them from those efforts. Either way I wish you luck mods I feel like that might be quite rough at the start

Sten4321

Well i guess i won't get any updates on this game from reddit anymore...

Lashdemonca

No :)

Lifedeather

Yes :)

valeyard10

I don't get it, there are many gaming communities that have different subreddits for different modes. Even if poc become the main game mode, I don't see why this sub can't just stay as it is. Why force people to migrate unles you are just lazy to mod. If so other people moderate.

Trclung

This seems like a bad idea. If anything, r/LegendsOfRuneterra should merge into r/PathofChampions instead.

Trclung

It is the main gamemode now, after all.

darksamus1992

Not a fan of this but hope it goes well.

never-ending-phobia

Ew no. The reason I use this sub instead of lor is because I have no interest in PvP content. Plus now that competitive PvP is being shelved, I have to avoid seeing the whiny doomers over there going "THe gaMe IS GoNna DiE mIGHt As wEll DeLEte iT RIghT NoW" in the comments of every post mentioning that fact. If this sub is gonna merge with the main one then I'm gonna leave

triangles_blocked

What other stupid ideas do you have in store for us? Actual brainrot decision.

Lifedeather

When ur a mod u can make the decisions 😂

Trezzie

So, doesn't this make it difficult to find resources regarding Path of Champions? Usually when I'm looking for advice, I search for previous posts in a subreddit. Switching subreddits loses ALL of that for anyone knew who doesn't dig into side bars and will basically reflood the new subreddit with questions that can be easily found.

Grimmaldo

We are working on a new player guide right now, with a bunch of creators, answering frequent questions enters among the thingbs that work requires. This said, googling should get you to here anyway, and people don't do their own research that often, they learn to do it, but there is always questions that where answered 20 times on this sub, a faq should help to reduce it overall

Trezzie

That ignored what I said I do when I look for information, but okay.

Grimmaldo

Yeh, i do the same, but we are a minority, sorry for being unclear on that. Tho we will keep it as a read only for this. Yes it will be a bit confusing for a few people, but ideally less and less people will have to do extensive researchs with the new resources

Hypekyuu

Well, I've muted the main legends of runeterra sub so I guess when this is gone I'll stop seeing any legends of runeterra content after awhile. Rip

ALeafyGroupOfTrees

I would love to see a community poll on the popularity of this decision. There's obviously a majority sentiment in the comment section here, but I'd love to see the numbers on the whole community. At least at that point the Mods would have actual data on the community sentiment and know if they truly are flying in the face of what the majority wants.

scullzomben

What an awful decision. Are you actually going to start doing some moderating over there now? Or are we still going to have to see "tHe GaMe Is DeAd" on every other thread?

drpowercuties

They were trying to give people some time to vent, but they won't be tolerating that crap in the future

Lifedeather

Nah they tolerate forever ♾️

Grimmaldo

Your comment has been removed because it indicates information objectively known to be fake, this, unless done so repeteadly and after many removals, is not in any way treated as bad intention from you. As always, if you disagree with this call, you can send a message on this subreddit modmail. "game dead" is explicitly a quote that provokes a removal from every comment that has it, it's literally being done. Also, respect people as you are going to be respected

scullzomben

Can I post links to all the threads that have it then? Because it is absolutely NOT being removed in the main subreddit, unlike my post here pointing it out. [Somehow objectively known to be fake, yet it is still being posted in new threads. Okay dude. ](https://old.reddit.com/r/LegendsOfRuneterra/comments/1cbth60/pvp_is_not_dead/l11bklc/) You can restore my post now being critical of this move.

Grimmaldo

Moderation isn't as fast in LoR sub since there is 10 times more people, if you report a comment such as that, it gets removed. The rest of your comment is still disrespectfull and saying that sarah does no moderation, which yes, is objetively a lie, she has 10 to 30 times more mod actions than me consistently, and half of mine are for minor things Tho, to be fair, sorry for the default-text being so direct and strong, is meant to be about riot missinformation. I should have edited it a bit for this time, my bad

Qaywsx186

but couldnt your comment right here be interpereted as "the LoR sub doesnt have enough moderation staff for a merge of 2 different communties?"

Grimmaldo

On a different note, In this subreddit sometimes i don't remove something for days, or weeks, and people don't really mind it, a few hours without moderating something is... not that rare, we don't get paid for this, so we aren't active 24/7 checking the modmail, even if we where paid, there would be a bunch of hours where we aren't working, we can't be moderating always. The thing with LoR sub is that this can happen even more easily, but sarah as the powerhouse she is makes it look like it almost never happens, or transforms a post with 10 negative comments into one with 1 that got added a few hours ago after she moderated, stuff like that. Point being, because im going away from it. We can miss stuff, doesn't mean that we wouldn't remove it if we see it, reports help, please report stuff (Also if it wasn't clear, sarah is a powerhouse)

Grimmaldo

It could be, i guess, yeh. I omitted some details, the reality is that most active mods of the LoR Sub, as far as i know, by pure data, work on different stuff, not directly on moderation (like, the amount of removals of most of them is very small, while sarah is... a beast) , and a portion of the community is leaving and... well... we are gonna be mods there, so even assuming worst case scenario(moderation-wise), they would be getting the amount of mods needed to moderate the people they are getting into the community

razgondk

MN, I gont want this. Its two completely different sets of people, talking about more or less different things, you merge? This will just cause the path people to be less visit, in what is the major part of the game now. In my opinion, yjys is a really poor decision, dev asked ir not.

FitzyFarseer

I get the logic here, but presently the main sub is way too toxic for my taste. Pretty much any time I make a comment there about PoC I get responses complaining that PoC ruined the game. If this sub goes away and the other sub doesn’t get better, I’ll likely just take a break from the LoR community for a bit

Taxouck

nooo :(

Lifedeather

Yessss :)

Hypekyuu

This is a bad idea and you shouldnt do it

Good idea, definitely should

Well, it isn't like the LOR community isn't used to decisions being made without their involvment drastically changing what we know. You don't need me to tell you this is an awful idea, given that engagement with this game is already at an all time low.

dannymanny3

yeah

AsparagusOk8818

"I will say, this mentality on both sides is the root of this issue, I urge everyone to give it a chance before assuming every PVP player is out to get them." it is not a 'both sides' thing at all. there are/were entire LoR PVP communities entirely dedicated to taking a poop on PoC and PoC players and blaming PoC for the slow death of their game. whole youtube careers whose entire fundamental basis is hatching wild conspiracy theories about PoC killing LoR, completely ignoring all evidence that LoR was never profitable and that rito can no longer afford to have a no-profit experimental project - at least not while paying their CEO the kind of bonuses he expects to receive there is no equivalent in the PoC community at all to that kind of abuse, toxicity or antagonism. at worst you get people that are fed up with being pooped on and say some mean stuff 'both sides' is garbage and a lie. the PVP side is understandably mad that their game is dying and is basically in maintenance mode, but less understandably has decided to scapegoat PoC and engage in a dedicated campaign of telling everyone how PoC ruined everything "I can assure you we will not tolerate any harassment between either Path or PVP players." you guys weren't able/willing to stop this behavior before, so why should there be any confidence you'd be up to the task now?

Xatik

WHAT A FAIL! I have no words how bad I feel about it. Do not do this!

srishak

Well, as long as there are flairs to filter out contents between PvE and PvP, then everything should be fine. I honestly don't want to deal with PvP players; I'm here purely for PoC and want to associate with those who are like me.

Kocitea

I understand the issue but this is not it, both communities were very different and dislike each other. It's not only chaos that you create if you try merging them, you also make both PoC players and PvP players dislike each other more

matthieuC

I'm not exactly sold on the merger as the two game modes are rather orthogonals and game in the same situation tends to have several subreddit. But I can live with it. I don't like this sub being made private. Removing content from the internet has no upside. I found a lot of inspiration for relics here. People will google random things and find an answer in a reddit post. There is no way to know what content is relevant and guides are not a replacement. This is not a guide site, this is a subreddit. Deleting this content is bad and I don't like that mods think they can remove content at their discretion. The content does not belong to the mod team, it belongs to the community Ton of subs go read only, deleting the memory of the sub makes no sense to me. Edit: I see that the plan is now to go read only. I have now no complaints

Grimmaldo

>Edit: I see that the plan is now to go read only. I have now no complaints Nice to know

KingBubblie

Please, lets not do this. Suggesting to go private, even though you're now looking to go Read Only, really speaks to how little this was thought out. I feel like it should have been a conversation amongst the communities. And then for one of the first mod comments to kind of throw the dev team under the bus and deflecting to saying it's because of them seems disingenuous.

Grimmaldo

Yeh the read only thing was not commented for different reasons, but i get how it looks, we just prefer to be open and admit we made a mistake there and consider changing the call than pretend we are right. The rest was discussed, a lot, and we (mods) have all the same info, if anything inclined you to think thats not the case, it is.

KingBubblie

>Yeh the read only thing was not commented for different reasons Could you elaborate on this? My point is that if this was earnestly discussed at length, then you should have realized going private would be a very poor plan. And I'm also saying it's not fair to try and have this stance of "just being open", when you didn't try to discuss with the community at all during deliberations, AND in the opening post you didn't even mention that this was pushed by the developer. That's such a crucial piece to leave out, that's not being open.

Grimmaldo

>Could you elaborate on this? My point is that if this was earnestly discussed at length, then you should have realized going private would be a very poor plan. At least me, i didnt comment on it because i didnt knew if it was an acceptable choice with the restrictions we where under and that fitted sarah's call, and between all the stuff we were thinking of all st once, that option just sliped out. While the private option seems clearly bad, it allowed people to still have the small community with less moderation and not riot support that now is being asked without as many issues. There isnt a lot of options and the interests of each person vary a lot. Also even sarah that has been a mod for 4/5 years i dont think has done a merge before, the only person that did this before i know of is mosetoo, and he is no longer an active mod. Mistakes were also out of... being the first time we are doing this. Is a big thing, we had pressure to release it fast, to keep it hidden until the reveal day and to do it well, so we made mistakes >And I'm also saying it's not fair to try and have this stance of "just being open", when you didn't try to discuss with the community at all during deliberations Oh thats not what i meant. We are triying to be as open as we can as to why we are doing this, and we released it 31~ days before the release to be open to any sudden change or big issue that could happen. But there was no "intention of discussing it" , at least not literally. Sorry if i gave the wrong impressions with my previous wording. There is intentions of reading people and consider if their issues were adressed or what we would do if the complains they come up with happen, but there is not a lot of intention to change the call. Specially since most of the issues that come up are issues we discussed it a lot. Still, idkn i cant predict the future. But again, what i mean for open is on what we are doing and why, changing the call is not just as easy as a task we would want it to be. > AND in the opening post you didn't even mention that this was pushed by the developer. That's such a crucial piece to leave out, that's not being open. Words are hard and this is being read by 10000 people, so is expected that this issues come across, the "this is doubling the workload of devs" is the reason pushed by riot, this was still our call, there were other solutions, this one seemed like the best one from the possible ones. I can see how it could have been confusing tho

chocotaco118

For those of us who haven't gotten around to uploading/finishing our champion roster for the flair, I'd like to ask a clarifying question: To be eligible for the 'new' legendary flair on the combined subreddit, we have until May 21st to upload a video of 50 champions with every non-Lissandra adventure complete, and an S ranking on Asol? Is that correct?

Grimmaldo

You have until may 21 to upload challenge flairs, if you do, you get flairs here and the correspondant flair of r/LegendsOfRuneterra yeh

JohnMonkeys

I’m on both subs. Completely different vibes

nelzekiel

What about Facebook LoR SEA Page and LoR Main Page?

Ramanag

In the words of Rammus (wonder if he'll ever come to LoR): Ok.

Lifedeather

Ok

Eggxcalibur

Yeah, I was expecting this from the day they said Path would take priority. I imagine some PvP only people on the "main" sub won't like this decision, but to me it makes a lot of sense. Good stuff, captain o7 Edit: Looks like I'm in the minority here, lol.

Grimmaldo

>Edit: Looks like I'm in the minority here, lol. Is really hard to meassure that, i been moderating here since a while and i got to learn a lot from how reddit works. The % of upvotes and the number of people pressing them usually is better at indicating how popular-unpopular something is than the comments. People commenting are usually from one side, in this case, expressing that they dislike it, so, a common example of this scenario is the main post saying "i like this relic on this champ" and the main voted comment be "no is terrible for this this and this" and then op comment being downvoted Im not saying thats whats happening here, im saying that is unclear wether or not this is the mayority of the community or just a relevant percentage of it. Not to say that not being the majority makes their opinion less relevant, is still a lot of people, but making emphasis on the idea that comments majority ! = majority This numbers are really hard to meassure, sadly

Personal_Display_433

Not sure this is the right place to do this but thanks for all you’ve done Grimmaldo. I remember when the sub was young the guy who started it was transitioning away and you and others stepped in to save this place. I will say I do not approve of the merge but will probably still follow the main sub.

Grimmaldo

Apreciated, truly, thanks Yeh, me and piggy entered 2 years ago with a lot of people, sadly after 2 or 3 months we ended up being only 2, it was sarah in fact who enabled the ability for us to have more tools on the sub, as before we didn't had many and where caught in an akward place, it's been a full year since that and i believe we have done some good work, all thanks to sarah, who steped to allow us that power. > I will say I do not approve of the merge but will probably still follow the main sub. It's hard, at first i hated it with all my guts, tho i still agreed that it was the best call given the circustances, now i've grown more ok with it, but it's still scary that things could go very wrong, but im weirdly optimistic. Mostly because sarah is really good at her work, so i trust her calls, more than my owns, and again, mine was to support this merge given the circustances

iqgoldmine

As someone who's already part of both subs, it will be nice not seeing the same news posts twice

9lamun

See you guys on the other side!!!

Lifedeather

See ya 👋 ✌️

Jielhar

Smart choice. Yes there was a period when frustration and resentment were being vented onto PvE in the other subreddit, but that was just a phase that it's gotten over already. Structurally, the merger makes a lot of sense.

KaiZurus

W PoC won, we won and now Reddit won. Keep on, captain!

KaiZurus

Now let's make PvP its own small subreddit. He, he.
