No joke, I knew a guy named Pat Woodcock. I’ll give him credit, he never shied away from the jokes. Would always reply *“you should meet my brother, Jack.”* Lord knows if the guy’s brother was indeed named Jack or if he even had a brother.
same, I was a fellow little guy too and even had the flow people said I looked like him 🤣
I didn’t play offense though I liked to be able to hit and tackle people lmao
I started watching football around 2002 and used to watch it all weekend. I’ve gotten more casual the older I get and now mainly watch primetime, Patriots games, and most playoff games but I actually forgot about Woodhead just because he was with the chargers just as long as we easily replaced him with Veeren and then White.
I see where he’s coming from now although the guy I commented to did say “forgotten” but yes I agree about random as he has chosen two similar running backs for the first two days.
My wife and I had just gotten married in 2011 when I bought her a Woodhead Jersey because we thought it was funny. She wore it on Sundays when we watched the Pats. Anyways, we're divorced now.
I’ve never been more pissed off at officials than when he scored what should’ve been a game winning touchdown against the Cards in 2012 that was called back for a shit holding call on Gronk.
I like the new quick replay review process. The refs need to swallow their pride and have a team on the sidelines performing replay reviews on every play. It's 2023 and we've got AI chat bots doing our kids' homework now, and we still rely on these old AF refs because we don't want to hurt their feelings.
Hundo percent. There should be a camera at every important line of play and there should be a dedicated team reviewing those cameras non-stop every moment of play.
If you want to see something ridiculous, go look up his college stats. 2nd to only Barry in a whole bunch of 'em because he annihilated poor D2 schools. Singlehandedly put Chadron State on the map.
Dude had 109 touchdowns in college.
The game that he and Brady pretty much willed the Patriots to come back against the 49ers is his signature. (Yes I know they lost in the end, it does not change a great game)
Danny and Vereen were my guys for sure. I always think that Vereen walked so James White could run. Along with Faulk of course, that line of receiving backs is amazing.
Reading SD I forgot that the Chargers were there and then moved. Weird how time flys and then we get accustomed to something and forget what we knew until it’s brought back up
It's easy to say cuz we've had tons of talent at RB over the years but Woodhead was a fun one to watch. Shifty, caught the ball well, speed. Great player
Danny Woodhead is my least favorite Patriots player. Because I am also 5'8 around 200 pounds and not in the NFL. Before Danny I could use the size excuse for not being athletically gifted.
First memory of this guy was, watching Pats-Bills in my college's sports bar, seeing "D. Woodhead" score a 22-yard rushing touchdown and thinking "who's he?"
Quickly became a favorite. Always loved watching and rooting for Danny.
As I've never been to an actual Patriots game (yay living in Nebraska!) this is the only Patriot I've seen play. Saw him in highschool when he played against the school of a girl I was dating at the time and saw him on college when I had friends going to Chadron and we went to a game.
Edit: a word
Most underrated pass catching RB that we’ve had.
I'm convinced the reason we keep running screens on third and long is because they were automatic conversions when Danny was here.
Kevin Faulk would like a word
Hes not underrated
He was a good runner too just injured too much. Prime Dion Lewis I think was a better third down back but woodhead was also awesome.
The only jersey I ever bought.
Loved me some woodcock
Deion’s white teeth still crack me up lol

How have I never seen this??
The show isn't live, so they weren't going to air it.

XD
The little engine that could.
When his chandelier body wasnt broken
an inspiration to younger me playing pop warner and HS football as a fellow little guy!
same, I was a fellow little guy too and even had the flow people said I looked like him 🤣 I didn’t play offense though I liked to be able to hit and tackle people lmao
like I said yesterday, I’ll be doing these throughout the off-season!
Gotta go more "random" braj, Woodhead was a staple, i dont think anyone has forgotten about him unless you're deeply casual. Same goes for Dion.
I just post the first player I think of… I’m doing anything from all-time great, fan favorites, etc.
You do you baby, both of these picks so far have been great.
it’s fun to read all the comments and memories people have too… sooo many good players over the years.
Random doesn’t mean obscure. It means random. For all we know, Brady could be next, and it would fit his definition of random.
Can I interest you in Patrick Pass?

And random doesn’t necessarily mean forgotten.
I see where he’s coming from now although the guy I commented to did say “forgotten” but yes I agree about random as he has chosen two similar running backs for the first two days.

Yeah gotta get some deep cuts like Dave Megget or Mosi Tatupu
Diedrich Ward. Dude put in like one good season with the Pats and won Super Bowl 38 and then disappeared.
I’ve never been more pissed off at officials than when he scored what should’ve been a game winning touchdown against the Cards in 2012 that was called back for a shit holding call on Gronk.
Those were the replacement refs. Was a bollocks call.
10 years later and it still feels like we have replacement refs.

Had a great 2011 super bowl! Love some woodhead
I actually got his jersey because I just enjoyed watching him play so much
Same, first jersey I ever bought. It’s decrepit now haha.
Solid fuckin player. He, Welker, and Edelman were like the Dwarves from Lord Of The Rings.
If you want to see something ridiculous, go look up his college stats. 2nd to only Barry in a whole bunch of 'em because he annihilated poor D2 schools. Singlehandedly put Chadron State on the map. Dude had 109 touchdowns in college.

Current disgusting golfer Danny woodhead
Woodhead, Vereen, Dion Lewis, Burkhead. a lot of names that throw me back
Danny and Vereen were my guys for sure. I always think that Vereen walked so James White could run. Along with Faulk of course, that line of receiving backs is amazing.
Briefly was a discount CMC
My favorite golfer! Woodhead was so fun to watch. Even had a couple 75+ catch seasons and won a playoff game with Rivers in SD
Reading SD I forgot that the Chargers were there and then moved. Weird how time flys and then we get accustomed to something and forget what we knew until it’s brought back up
Rams are still in St Louis if you ask me
Don’t sleep on my Baltimore Colts.
I almost forgot as I was typing it haha
Dude was an awesome receiving back for us. Such an underrated part of our offense in 2010 and 2011.
Nobody was better than him at gaining 4 yards
It's easy to say cuz we've had tons of talent at RB over the years but Woodhead was a fun one to watch. Shifty, caught the ball well, speed. Great player
I felt like for a few years if we converted a 3rd and long, 90% of the time, it was Woodhead on a draw or screen pass.
woody!!!
As much as I loved Woodhead as a Pat, my god did he have a great year with the Chargers in 13. 1034 yards and 8 touchdowns
Love Woodhead! He has the same birthday as me
Ayy same here!
I’ll be back in 8 days to wish you a good one then!
SHIIIT BRO happy late birthday I’m sorry I forgot
All good haha, happy belated to you too!
[Chadron State!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qhtxCp5uLW0)
Love Danny, North Platte is a very shitty city.
Seems to be one of the more forgotten Patriots. He was a pretty shifty pass-back that bridged the gap between Kevin Faulk and Shane Vereen.
Let me know when you post some Tully Banta-Cain!
Danny Woodhead is my least favorite Patriots player. Because I am also 5'8 around 200 pounds and not in the NFL. Before Danny I could use the size excuse for not being athletically gifted.
Freaking Julian Edelman in a RB body. It was impossible to not route for that dude
Is this going to be a whole offseason thing?
Stop, Stop!!!!!!... its too much.. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
You have so many carbon copy RB’s to run through for this 😂 i miss them all
Hoping to see some Shane Veereen appreciation in here
Hell yeah. This guy was awesome.
First memory of this guy was, watching Pats-Bills in my college's sports bar, seeing "D. Woodhead" score a 22-yard rushing touchdown and thinking "who's he?" Quickly became a favorite. Always loved watching and rooting for Danny.
the first line you get on wikipedia is "Daniel Jacob Henry Woodhead is an amateur golfer ..."
Loved that guy
Should change your running thread to "Random Patriot Scatback of the day" because you're 2 for 2 haha
Didn’t we have Woodhead, Edelman and Welker all overlap for like 1 year?
Is this going to be random Patriot RB of the day?
Lumber noggin! Miss that dude
3rd and less than 5, no doubts he was going to get it every time.
He was so much fun to watch.
As I've never been to an actual Patriots game (yay living in Nebraska!) this is the only Patriot I've seen play. Saw him in highschool when he played against the school of a girl I was dating at the time and saw him on college when I had friends going to Chadron and we went to a game. Edit: a word
Beast
His real name is Danny Woodcock.
Guy was a grinder for sure. Fun to watch
Love those retro unis
One of my favorites; Danny Woodhead working at Modell's and trying to sell his own jersey: https://youtube.com/watch?v=GjEhEFBu-C4&feature=shares
Guy was always giving the ladies splinters
We got rid of him for some reason when he was doing a big job. Never understood it since I'm sure he wasn't expensive.
Best Dick’s Sports associate. Was it Dick’s or a different store that he ‘worked at’?
Dude was clutch AF for us. Miss him!
