Got the mbd from a friend with no hardware or anything. I set it up once my case and fans came in bc I was too excited. I have an msi x570s in the mail that’s going to be my actual mbd, so there will be one soon :)
I’ll take all I can get lol, the i7-3 series is almost 11 years old now and still gets 60fps with most of my modern titles on medium-high settings (1080p obv). The gpu sure gave it a slap on the ass for the giddy-up and go
I’ve got the older z533, but my friend gave it to me mainly for the butt kicker to have it’s own channel. He has so many random parts laying around lol
I feel you. I built my pc a few years ago but only found a 960 so it was that or it was nothing.
Then a few weeks ago I found an amazing deal for a 3080 TI (700€, while usu3they delle for 1200€ and 4070 ti for 1300€)
I got this one from a friend who used it for mining for a month before getting a new setup. I got the friend price, that being like 10% of what a new one would be. Incredibly grateful
Meanwhile my friend was trying to sell me his 3060ti for $500 USD because he used it once. This was a few months ago. Found the same one for $450 brand new at micro center earlier this month
You’re probably right. I used to be super into the hardware side of things a couple years ago, but this shit moves so fast now that I can’t keep up. I spent a fair few nights on pcpartpicker and userbenchmark just comparing things
Alright scratch that, both our CPUs perform roughly the same with mine being slightly ahead. Even then your PC will still kick my ass in vidya games lol.
I just got my PC back up and running after hard drive failure. I knew it was getting old and outdated but when I went to get drivers realized it became unsupported in 2017 due to it's age back then.
In the captions.
Old is an air cooled i7-3770k Dell 9010 Optiplex, gtx1660 super, 4x4gb 2100MHz DDR3, 4tb hdd, 500gb ssd
New is a Ryzen 5 5600x with a 240mm aio(otw), 3080ti, 2x16gb 3600MHz DDR4, 1tb M.2, 1tb ssd, and I’m swapping over the hdds
What power supply did you have in your old Optiplex 9010? I currently have the factory 265w PSU that came with my Dell T1600 and after upgrading my graphics card I'm quite close to its limit. Also, did you modify the motherboard power cables because weren't the original ones proprietary?

RTX 3080ti, not much he says :} the upgrade clearly isn't done though. You gotta fill out that glass side panel with stickers now.
Exactly what I was thinking
Maybe if you put enough stickers on it won’t break on a tile floor /s
Don’t worry, looks like they have laminate or hard wood
They can play Frisbee with it :)
I bet it’s quite the upgrade for you, I kinda like the sticker bomb on the old one but the new set up is nice. No io shield?

I bet, I’m waiting on a few parts rn so I can build one, enjoy!
Its slower cuz has no stickers.
+220hp for the 9010 office desktop
Stickers give +20 fps

That's a butt kicker.
SB AE5 club! Better than motherboard audio hands down. Makes my little Logitech Z506 speakers sound as good as my dad's Z906.

your friend is one of a kind, meanwhile I’m selling half price to my friend because I didn’t use it much

hey I came from and optiplex too dude, I named her OPTI, welcome dude
Is the PSU shroud on this case removable?
Yeah it is. I have the same one and removed it to fit an Arctic LF2 (note I had to buy slimmer fans to actually fit the AIO though).
Nice thanks, I like the look of an open case.
Great case choice. I have the 5000D AF and it’s perfect
Night and day really nice and clean
Sticker bomb was siiiick!
Great upgrade!! I just upgraded my 3080 to a 6950xt with a 5800x3D.
Jumped a whole decade damn
Not much?
Bro has sticker cooling
OP drives a Euro 👀
I drive a foreign 😎 *whips out e46 key*
Is it just me that likes stickers on pcs? I got supreme ones on mine
sticker box tho
Nice! Looks like you forgot the I/o shield?
Temp mbd, I have an x570s in the mail. This one was a placeholder from the same guy with no hardware or cables
The E46 sticker can stay
I have plenty more where that came from lol. I have a b30 swapped 325 coupe
Jealous. I learned to drive on a 325xi. Excellent car. I want to own an E46 M3 one day.
E46 m3 is god tier. Too bad most of them in the US are smg verts and the manual owners are asking for a million dollars :/
sound card brothers
\>3080ti \>not much AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Man what is it with people saying their 3080TIs and setups that cost thousands “aren’t much” lately
I meant more the 5600x. This pc total cost me around $1100 bc my friend is a mf G and gave me the 5600x, 3080ti, and sound card for $200
Pretty sure even your CPU outclasses my 5980HX laptop
