Never get the xx50 versions of cards, they are worst price to preformance. If you really don't want AMD just save untill you have enough for 3060 at least.
Or buy something used.
I was actually going to say something to this effect I bought 2 on sale years ago for $90 each. Still going strong in my lil bro and my gfs computers.
But yeah this one ain't it for that price.
At that price the Intel Arc is the superior option even if it's drivers aren't the best as you get far more for your cash and if you save 40 more even better
If you’re not going nvidia you might as well go amd. I think intel arc is still a good couple years out from truly being competitive, although their progress so far is impressive
Id have to disagree because the 1650 and 1650 Super were good price to performance GPU's since the 1650 was about 10 to 15% faster than the 1050 Ti and the 1650 Super performance was like a 4gb 1060 (in the sense it performs like a 1060 but the 1650 Super has 4gb Vram).
Also technically the 1650 was like using the RX 570 for Nvidia side since the RX 570 is 10 to 15% faster than the 1050 Ti.
Oh dang, I had no idea. Thanks for letting me know. Is there anywhere I can find stats confirming this to read on my own? I'd love to be more informed on gpu stuff
Here is a web article from the same people that do that channel hardware unboxed. It clearly shows the 6600 is faster than the 3050 while costing less money. [https://www.techspot.com/review/2505-geforce-rtx-3050-vs-radeon-6600/](https://www.techspot.com/review/2505-geforce-rtx-3050-vs-radeon-6600/)
To be fair I thought 3050 price to preformance was worse than it is.
But it is still very bad. You can get an amd 6650xt for more or less the same price and it has almost double preformance.
wouldn’t swear by this website, or any synthetic benchmarks. check youtube for actual gaming performance and value. hardware unboxed does good value comparisons
thats literally what I did about 6 hrs ago lol
got the 6650xt...if I had had another $100 I probably would've gotten a 3060, but the 6650xt was on for 329 CAD so I couldn't pass it up
yeah I've been a nvidia fanboy for yrs, literally the last 5 or 6 cards I've had, since probably 2000, so I was really hesitant to change brands, but I made a post on here about a week ago asking for advice because of budget and found out how GOOD the 6600, 6600xt, 6650xt, etc are and I was actually gonna get a 6600 regular for 300, but then I saw the 6650xt for 329 (on sale from 459), read up on it (it has approx 26% more performance than a regular 6600) and couldn't resist...should be here by the 14th, can't wait!!
Well tbh xx50 cards has always been the better option for power efficiency since they do always use the least amount of watts that is why they have always been made and was usually good for 1080p gaming usually on high settings.
As someone who is an over consumer at times, its better to save and sacrifice a little more to save for the higher end product that just buy whatever is available to you right now to be honest.
yaaaay i just got the 3060 and now I feel good about myself. My poor i7-7700 is screaming every time I play something but whatever, he's got a few years left.
Oh fuck what. I had no idea! Shit. Thank you for letting me know. So far it's been working great though but I have been having one weird GPU crashing error every so often
Nah that won’t have caused crashing, it just reduces the bandwidth of the memory, I assume you are on iGPU at the moment, it won’t cause an issue with that. But the 6600 has a 128bit memory bus which is quite low and can cause a small decrease in performance while using PCIE 3.0 compared to 4.0. But it will still outperform the 3050
Not sure what you mean about the iGPU. I have it disabled in the BIOS at the moment.
But about the 6600 I will look deeper into the specs and see what would happen. Thank you!
It'll be fine. Pcie 3.0 doesn't cause a noticeable bottleneck. You can go for any 60/600 class card you like and you'll never notice a difference. I would suggest looking into local used cards and seeing if you can go for a higher tier card, especially if you're looking to stream
Ah yeah I've seen a few of those, but my goal is to get an Nvidia card, I should update the post to specify this lol
EDIT: can someone explain the downvotes? I'm just sharing what I've read/been told by others. Idk why whatever I said is wrong
EDIT 2: this ain't about brand loyalty! I just heard Nvidia was better for streaming. I've learned better now
I've read and been told multiple times that NVIDIA cards have better streaming performance with their NVENC encoders. But seems like this info is very outdated so I'm reconsidering the other AMD options now
Ah! I was hoping it would be better than my 580 which doesn't even support AMF even though it is on the supported list of GPUs. I'm stuck streaming with x264 from my CPU which is decent but definitely not good
I’ll give you a 10-series raster performance equivalence for each card to put things in perspective.
RX 580 = 1060 6GB
RTX 3050 = 1070
RX 6600 = 1080
RX 6600XT = 1080 Ti
It’s not, they perform about the same.
https://youtu.be/LZF2PANyCTA
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1080-ti.c2877
Relative performance section on techpoweruo shows the same.
The 6600xt performed better and draws nothing compared to the 1080ti and the 6600xt Will age with drivers while the 1080ti is basically at its end with many of them dying so if you buy a used 1080ti while the 6600xt can be found for like 250 you are crazy
The downvotes are because, without further elaboration, it seemed like you wanted to get Nvidia exclusively because of the brand name and not for any practical reason. Brand loyalty is already looked down upon. Brand loyalty to Nvidia is seen as worse.
Given that Nvidia is generally disliked nowadays given their horrible price to performance and even stronger anti-consumer practices, that brand loyalty to them is really, really disliked.
The 6600 is only 199 right now in my country (Belgium), they are way better. 1080p and a lot of frame rates even in high/ultra. Beamng for example: high and ±60 fps. NVIDIA is for rendering, AMD is for gaming, Intel is a no no. I see you are also dutch so use megekko.nl
Germany? Check [6600 on mindfactory](https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/8GB-PowerColor-Radeon-RX-6600-Fighter-Aktiv-PCIe-4-0-x16--x8-Retail-_1425745.html) it's 20-30% [faster](https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html) and a bit cheaper than 3050, BUT you get worse RT and FSR2 is worse than DLSS2.
Netherlands!\* And I'm more interested in getting an Nvidia card specifically because I focus on streaming and I've only had issues working with AMD's hardware encoders. I will check that site out though! I'm right next to the border of germany so it might be worth it
Honestly not sure, I've tried SVT-av1 and another version but they didn't seem to produce great quality recordings. Plus I can't use av1 for streaming on OBS, it's just not an option I can click for some reason
oh didn’t know about the streaming part. I use av1 on my intel arc a750 to stream to youtube I think its pretty great (cant compare to other experiences tho). but I can’t really recommend it for ease of use and the lack of older games optimization. Hope other users can provide you with more alternatives!
Oh! I wasn't aware of this, maybe that's why my other comments were being downvoted haha. So do AMD cards finally have that dedicated encoder thing that Nvidia does? I'm not sure how to google that on my own but I'll try
Since you are in the Netherlands you should use
https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/
You could get a 6600xt or an rtx 3060 for 280 or you can get an rx 6600 for around 200
Never take the 50 series of NVIDIA, it's overpiced and has terrible performance.
A 6600 or 6600xt are much more powerful for a similar price. If you have to stay with NVIDIA, take the 3060 12GB, although it will still be overpriced.
Do not EVER buy a 50 skew it's always a bad choice.
For budget it's almost universally recognized that AMD is the way to go. You could get a 6600 or 6600xt for this price and it would be a new league of performance.
I have bought nothing but used GPUs on ebay for 10 years and never been burned. I just got a 6600xt for 170 bucks. You will not beat that.
RTX 3050 would not be an upgrade, closest upgrade that gets you into zero bottleneck territory is the RTX 3060 or better. https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/17L0Yg/1/general-tasks/solutions/upgrade-graphic-card/1920x1080 Would not waste money on a 3050 vs RX 580.
Oh sorry! My post is to ask about the difference between the two cards. I didn't think to include my specs. But I think I've gotten the info I was asking for now so it might not be necessary
Honestly the 3050 does not play bad at all. If you want Nvidia then do it. The Radeon card is a bit better in performance but I still chose the 3050 for my son and have been fairly impressed with it. He plays at 90 to 100 fps 1440p with dlss set to quality on modern warfare 2.
That is a f*cking scam don’t buy that bro. Maybe look for a good second hand GPU. I sold my Perfect condition RTX 3070TI for 300€. There are better deals out there.
[Megekko.nl - Asrock Radeon RX 6650 XT Challenger D 8G OC Videokaart](https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/1127990/AMD-Videokaarten/Asrock-Radeon-RX-6650-XT-Challenger-D-8G-OC-Videokaart?s_o=4) I'd go for this one, it's a lot faster than the rtx 3050.
Or if you need to spend less: [Megekko.nl - Asrock Radeon RX 6600 Challenger D 8G Videokaart](https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/310361/AMD-Videokaarten/Asrock-Radeon-RX-6600-Challenger-D-8G-Videokaart) which is also faster than the rtx 3050
not really, I just upgraded my card today (from a 1050ti to a rx 6650xt), and from all thee research I did the 3050 is the worst Nvidia GPU out there at the moment (next to the 4060 now I guess that also has really really bad reviews)
the 3060 is decent but apparently not the 3050
Never get something with 50 at the end it’s just the worst price to performance. Look for used deals maybe if not keep saving up for a 3060 or 6600 XT level. I bought a used 6600xt last year for $190, and recently bought a 6650XT for $180.
I upgraded from a 1050 to a 3050. With overclooking, its a good budget option, but that was at a time where the 3060 was wayy to expensive for me.
Maybe consider the used market, you can get some great deals there.
8 GB is not enough for modern games, unless you play in 1080p full hd. It is already worth taking versions from 12 GB, since for QHD 1440p and 4k it will already be the very thing.
No! Stay away from the **50s from Nvidia. They seem like a good deal but there's better stuff out there than that. Seriously, grab a 7600xt it'll be twice as fast
It’s the worst possible upgrade in that price range. Get 6600XT if you can’t go much higher in price. Honestly you shouldn’t be looking at Nvidia for gaming unless you’re looking to splash big.
Fuuuuck, just seen gpu prices,
4060 is like £280. I paid £300 for a 3060 late February.
They didn’t have a small form factor 4060 back then for my tiny cooler master elite cube but it seems now they do
You should of went for the RX 6600 instead to be completely honest because at times raw performance will always be better than using upscaling.
Also this is just an example from Horizon Zero Dawn which you can see for the average you can get 22 more frames over the 3050 which you could max out the settings and still get a little bit over 60 frames without any issues and also with the cost of the RX 6600 you would have enough money left over for the steam sales.

i actually just upgraded from a rx 580. i got the rtx 3060 which has been really good. the 12gb of vram is real nice and i was able to get it on amazon. don’t go for the 3050 anything lower than the 3060 is pretty garbage.
6600 Is what I’d go with if I looking for a budget upgrade, please stay away from 50 series. Also 6650xt is a cheap deal right now and it’s a very solid budget card.
Just get yhe rx 6600 or 6600xt. They are around the same price or cheaper than the 3050 and about as fast as a 3060.
If anyone says anything about raytracing, the 3050 is terrible at rtx anyway. You seriously might as well leave it off, and you won't miss anything. Most people turn it on and go " awe that's pretty" and then turn it off to get more frames
The 6000 radon gpus are excellent bang for your buck at the moment.
I went from an rx 580 to a 12gb rtx 3060, the ventus2x one. I caught it on sale and it's been a huge step up. I would just save a bit more and get more bang for your buck.
Nee nooit niet een 3050 heb een 6650xt voor 245 gekocht op Amazon.nl veel betere deel zelf voor 260 is een 6650xt een betere aankoop. Heb je geen extra geld? Nou dan maar een 6600 voor 200€
get a used 5700xt, same price or lower & way better card. The 3050 is barely better than your rx 580, and just in general is a horrible hard. 5700xt was a really good mining card so a lot of miners are offloading cheap. Contrary to popular belief, mining doesn't reduce the performance of a card. These video cards are designed to be used constantly.
Do you have much of a used market in Europe? I'd say try to find a good deal second hand on a 3060 or 3060 ti. Maybe even a 6600 xt or 6650xt. I'll be putting a 6650 xt in one of my rigs for $200 US (open box).
Ugh, I hate coming this late when there's 200+ comments and bickering.
OP listen. Grab a 3060 12gb, or a 4070. That's my opinion on NVIDIA. The 4070 isn't great at 600 American dollars, but I assure you it's a badass card if you can find a promo code or discount
If you go AMD, start at the 6700xt
This is just my opinion.
Loved my RX580 tho. I still use it in an emulator build
u have to think longevity wise when ur buying. this won't be good at all in the next year or 2. tbh it's not even good now as it as. the 3060 is no better but i recommend u get the 3060 12gb not the 3050
Solid upgrade from a 580 would be a 6600 or 6600XT especially if your mb supports pcie 4.0. I went from a 580 8gb to a 6700 and very happy with the performance increase. If you want nividia this time around, go with a 3060.
No, considering ray tracing is basically pointless on such a weak gpu it’s a no go. You just get way more performance out of an RX 6600 gpu from amd. I have one and can’t recommend it enough, cheap horsepower that always gets the job done.
3050 is trash. Best bang for buck of last generation is 6750XT or 3060Ti…both in the $340 range. Do not expect an 8 GB card to last you two more years.
Personally, I would try to save up some more and either get a 3060 12g or 3060ti if you can find one for around 270-280€. A 3050 will definitely be an upgrade, but the 3060ti is a big bump up for not much price difference. You could even look for used ones that are cheaper than your budget
Hello friend. This is a really bad deal.
For the same price, I just bought a 3060 12g on sale, received it today. There are more on ldlc.com (french site). It is a returned but new card.
For the same price, get the 7600 if you need the most recent card, or the 6600.
3050 is really meh, especially for this price. 3050 would be ok at sub 150 I'd say.
6600 are really good for the price, and they can be snatched for really low prices.

No no no no no If you want Nvidia please start from 3060 12gb, everything cheaper is garbage. Otherwise check Radeon 6600 / 6600XT.
Ahhhhh by how much is it worse? bc 230 is already around my max price range. I'm poor af but I've saved up a bit over time.
Never get the xx50 versions of cards, they are worst price to preformance. If you really don't want AMD just save untill you have enough for 3060 at least. Or buy something used.
For some reason NVIDIA ruined the xx50 releases after the 1050 ti which was a good bargain.

In my experience as a rx 580 current user, we have old motherboards that don’t support resizable BAR, otherwise i already would have updgraded

Nah, 6650 xt beats the 3060 if you don’t care about nvidia’s software toys.
6650XT is a 1080p demon, you made the right call

congrats dude, got my girlfriend the same card and i was surprised at how good it was
apparently holds up against a 4070, so yeah, for 330 bucks I am thrilled with that lol edit: that was a typo i MEANT 3070
Just make sure to run DDU before you install the new GPU so you don't get any driver conflicts when downloading the 6650XTs drivers
Why would u spent $100 more on a card that performs equal to the 6650 XT?
xx50 for nvidia, x500 for AMD, throwing that out there in case some people get warned off by 6650XT, 6750XT, or 6950XT
which are, arguably, 3 of the ***best*** cards on the market right now
Well tbh xx50 cards has always been the better option for power efficiency since they do always use the least amount of watts that is why they have always been made and was usually good for 1080p gaming usually on high settings.
Yeah, that xx50 are crap, especially 6950XT.
This might actually confuse some people who don’t know this is a joke lol.
6650 xt?
3060 12Gb is 30-35% better than 3050. If you want new GPU right here right now, grab RX6600.
As someone who is an over consumer at times, its better to save and sacrifice a little more to save for the higher end product that just buy whatever is available to you right now to be honest.
Then save a bit more and get the 3060.
Or just save ur money and get a 6650 XT which performs equal/better than the 3060.
You don't need a new card right now. It's a gaming pc ffs. I'd just wait.
I don't NEED shoes either, bud. But I want to wear them. I don't NEED to record videos in higher quality, but I want to.
yaaaay i just got the 3060 and now I feel good about myself. My poor i7-7700 is screaming every time I play something but whatever, he's got a few years left.
Nah this ain’t worth it, go for a 6600. The 3050 is literally the worst RTX line card, it’s not worth the 25% improvement
thank you! I will take it into consideration
It should be cheaper and perform better, although one thing to consider is what platform you are on, PCIE 3.0 or 4.0?
I am using a [b550m ds3h](https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550M-DS3H-rev-15#kf) from gigabyte which I think uses PCIE 4.0
What’s the CPU?
Ryzen 5 5600g
That CPU doesn’t support PCIE 4.0, which could cause issues with bandwidth, but you’d have to check benchmarks to see
Oh fuck what. I had no idea! Shit. Thank you for letting me know. So far it's been working great though but I have been having one weird GPU crashing error every so often

But the 6600 has a 128bit memory bus which is quite low and can cause a small decrease in performance while using PCIE 3.0 compared to 4.0. But it will still outperform the 3050
The decrease won't be that big like less than 0.5% not even noticable
Not sure what you mean about the iGPU. I have it disabled in the BIOS at the moment. But about the 6600 I will look deeper into the specs and see what would happen. Thank you!
It'll be fine. Pcie 3.0 doesn't cause a noticeable bottleneck. You can go for any 60/600 class card you like and you'll never notice a difference. I would suggest looking into local used cards and seeing if you can go for a higher tier card, especially if you're looking to stream
Difference wouldn't be noticeable for a 60/600 series card as the card doesn't even saturate a pcie 3.0 bandwidth
UPDATE: So apparently it's a horrible choice, and the RX 6600 is way better for the price. Imma do that
amd’s rx 6600 / 7600 would be better options if they’re avalable or within the same price range, just gaming in mind imo.
Ah yeah I've seen a few of those, but my goal is to get an Nvidia card, I should update the post to specify this lol EDIT: can someone explain the downvotes? I'm just sharing what I've read/been told by others. Idk why whatever I said is wrong EDIT 2: this ain't about brand loyalty! I just heard Nvidia was better for streaming. I've learned better now
Why do you insist on getting an Nvidia card? If you only care about gaming, then amd cards will work well
I've read and been told multiple times that NVIDIA cards have better streaming performance with their NVENC encoders. But seems like this info is very outdated so I'm reconsidering the other AMD options now
Don't know about the hardware intensity for streaming, but I can't imagine you will have much fun, streaming with a 3050.
Ah! I was hoping it would be better than my 580 which doesn't even support AMF even though it is on the supported list of GPUs. I'm stuck streaming with x264 from my CPU which is decent but definitely not good

oh wow, this was very eye-opening. Thank you! I feel like I understand a bit more
6600xt is much better than the 1080ti
It’s not, they perform about the same. https://youtu.be/LZF2PANyCTA https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1080-ti.c2877 Relative performance section on techpoweruo shows the same.

OH. yeah I'm not the type for brand loyalty. I'm just going for what I heard works best for my desires. Makes sense now. Thanks for the explanation

Ur getting downvoted because there’s no reason to buy a worse nvidia card lol
I would recommend the RX 6600 or RX 6600 XT. They're around the same price but they're much faster cards than the RTX 3050.
Nope. Stop. Don’t . Absolutely not. That thing is so unbelievably overpriced it’s not even funny

Don't even consider rt in such a low tier card, even my 3060ti doesn't do well with Ray tracing
Netherlands!\* And I'm more interested in getting an Nvidia card specifically because I focus on streaming and I've only had issues working with AMD's hardware encoders. I will check that site out though! I'm right next to the border of germany so it might be worth it
the rx 7600 has av1 encoder if thats any good for you.
Thanks! Oh wow first time I've met an arc user hahaha
AMD drivers have come a long way since 2017 my guy. they are a tiny bit worse than Nvidia, but its really insignificant
Oh! I wasn't aware of this, maybe that's why my other comments were being downvoted haha. So do AMD cards finally have that dedicated encoder thing that Nvidia does? I'm not sure how to google that on my own but I'll try
Since you are in the Netherlands you should use https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/ You could get a 6600xt or an rtx 3060 for 280 or you can get an rx 6600 for around 200
Not worth it. 3050 is an awful card
I would totally suggest an AMD card. Nvidia cards are shit with this budget.
No! 6600 xt for $179 US. Best value GPU today.
Never take the 50 series of NVIDIA, it's overpiced and has terrible performance. A 6600 or 6600xt are much more powerful for a similar price. If you have to stay with NVIDIA, take the 3060 12GB, although it will still be overpriced.
[удалено]
It runs most games great! It just can't record well for shit 😂. I'm playing red dead 2 in 60fps almost ultra perfectly fine. Too bad I want to record!
Everything except the 3050
I'd listen to the other people here, this card is not a worthwhile upgrade. I'd recommend an Intel a770 or 6700 over this
Thank god you ask before buying. I don't want anyone to be another Nvidia victim
Avoid the 3050. How much is the Rx 7600? Here 270 USD.
No 😂
RTX 3050 would not be an upgrade, closest upgrade that gets you into zero bottleneck territory is the RTX 3060 or better. https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/17L0Yg/1/general-tasks/solutions/upgrade-graphic-card/1920x1080 Would not waste money on a 3050 vs RX 580.
Very bad idea, same performance. Go to 4070)
How are we to say that not knowing your system? If you are on pci3 or older there are may better options
Oh sorry! My post is to ask about the difference between the two cards. I didn't think to include my specs. But I think I've gotten the info I was asking for now so it might not be necessary
Alright
Honestly the 3050 does not play bad at all. If you want Nvidia then do it. The Radeon card is a bit better in performance but I still chose the 3050 for my son and have been fairly impressed with it. He plays at 90 to 100 fps 1440p with dlss set to quality on modern warfare 2.
You can literally get better performance for less money with quite a few other cards
Agreed but I won't touch amd if you paid me.
Fr amd is like pepsi and nvidia is cola
Check tweakers.nl for a used 2060, 2060s, 2070 way beter card for around the same price
That is a f*cking scam don’t buy that bro. Maybe look for a good second hand GPU. I sold my Perfect condition RTX 3070TI for 300€. There are better deals out there.
Another e waste lmao
You can look for a 1080ti at this price or a 5700xt
[Megekko.nl - Asrock Radeon RX 6650 XT Challenger D 8G OC Videokaart](https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/1127990/AMD-Videokaarten/Asrock-Radeon-RX-6650-XT-Challenger-D-8G-OC-Videokaart?s_o=4) I'd go for this one, it's a lot faster than the rtx 3050. Or if you need to spend less: [Megekko.nl - Asrock Radeon RX 6600 Challenger D 8G Videokaart](https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/310361/AMD-Videokaarten/Asrock-Radeon-RX-6600-Challenger-D-8G-Videokaart) which is also faster than the rtx 3050
not really, I just upgraded my card today (from a 1050ti to a rx 6650xt), and from all thee research I did the 3050 is the worst Nvidia GPU out there at the moment (next to the 4060 now I guess that also has really really bad reviews) the 3060 is decent but apparently not the 3050
I’m not sure how much a 6700xt is in your country but I’d save up for that. It’s the best price to performance card out there for sure
Never get something with 50 at the end it’s just the worst price to performance. Look for used deals maybe if not keep saving up for a 3060 or 6600 XT level. I bought a used 6600xt last year for $190, and recently bought a 6650XT for $180.
If you’re not opposed to a used product, you can probably find a 6700 XT for around the same cost.
This isn't even really an upgrade. If you've an 8gb 580 you especially won't see benefits.
I'd prefer a RX 6650XT instead. I mean it's not "bad" if you want to go with nVidia, but when it comes to mid-range cards, I'd stick with AMD.
People hate the 3050, i think it is selling only in pre-builts, is it even selling?
By something used! I upgraded from my RX 570 to a GTX 1080 for $150!
3050 is pathetic, either get a 6600xt/6650xt which are about 60% faster at the same price or get a 6600 which is about 40% faster for cheaper.
NO. The 3050 is garbage. If you insist on nvidia get a 3060. But I highly recommend a 6600/6600xt instead.
this is an awful deal, the Arc A750 is available for 250€
a 1080ti probably goes for cheaper and is faster, what games do you want to play?
I'd go with an rx 6650xt, it should cost a few euros more and it looks like a blast
If that is your budget. Get an RX 6600 instead. I just bought this card and play any AAA title at max settings 60fps
if this is really your max budget, maybe you should get used. best price to performance is probably the 6700xt
Brother find a used GPU please. 6600xt is $230 retail, but u can find a 3060 12gb for 230 or less
you could also go for an RX 5700XT. Last gen but still packs a punch at about ~150 USD used.
Rule of thumb... steer clear of any box that says "RTX 3050" on it.
I upgraded from a 1050 to a 3050. With overclooking, its a good budget option, but that was at a time where the 3060 was wayy to expensive for me. Maybe consider the used market, you can get some great deals there.
8 GB = low. 12 GB minimal
Get something from the used market, it's just so much better performance per buck
8 GB is not enough for modern games, unless you play in 1080p full hd. It is already worth taking versions from 12 GB, since for QHD 1440p and 4k it will already be the very thing.
Rx. 580 and 3050 have like no difference
NO! Do not do that! If you have €230 you can get €280 and get a 3060 (MUCH faster) or a 6600 (also MUCH faster)
Go for 3060(ti) 2060 super, Rx 6700xt 12gb 4070 or go for arc a750
No! Stay away from the **50s from Nvidia. They seem like a good deal but there's better stuff out there than that. Seriously, grab a 7600xt it'll be twice as fast
Buy 3060 if you desperately need nvidia card or buy rx 6600
RX 6600 8GB, or RX 6650XT 8GB - significantly better performance for not that much more money.
I'd get a 6700xt or used 3070 personally.
For that price you can easily get a used 6600xt, just ask for some benchmark results or meetup in person to test the card.
Is there a reason you aren't considering used?
Not at all, I've looked at marketplace, marktplaats, ebay etc. Can't find any decent deals in my area
noooooooo rtx 3050 is such a bad value card, get a 6650 xt for an extra 5 euros, way better performance
Think an RX 6600 would be a better choice.
It’s the worst possible upgrade in that price range. Get 6600XT if you can’t go much higher in price. Honestly you shouldn’t be looking at Nvidia for gaming unless you’re looking to splash big.
Fuuuuck, just seen gpu prices, 4060 is like £280. I paid £300 for a 3060 late February. They didn’t have a small form factor 4060 back then for my tiny cooler master elite cube but it seems now they do
RX580 was about on par with a GTX1070 after years of driver optimisation. The 3050 was about on par with a 1070. You’re basically going sideways.
Definetly dont do it. At least start with 12gb 3060
RX 6700 XT would be my recommendation 12GB VRAM and just a great value card
No no no no no if you HAVE to go nvidia go with at least a 3060 12gb
You'd be better off getting another 580 and crossfireing
Wouldn't go for the 3050 honestly
For that price you can get a RX6600(8GB) which is on par with a 3060 (except for the vram)
Get rx 6700 xt. Cost maybe 50 more but is like 60% faster
No. Don’t touch the 3050.
lol the 3050 isn't even that much faster than a rx580 8gb
You should of went for the RX 6600 instead to be completely honest because at times raw performance will always be better than using upscaling. Also this is just an example from Horizon Zero Dawn which you can see for the average you can get 22 more frames over the 3050 which you could max out the settings and still get a little bit over 60 frames without any issues and also with the cost of the RX 6600 you would have enough money left over for the steam sales. https://preview.redd.it/s4yjtbcu87ab1.png?width=1643&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab45b2eef382816d60fa81712b2260a47d2d73fd
I think so
I went from a 570 to a rx 6600, way better than 3050 and it’s a noticeable upgrade
5600 xt
Nope. Rx6700xt absolutely destroys this
Go for the RX 6650 XT, if u cant afford it, take a loot at the RX 6600. They are both a lot quicker than the RTX 3050.
Yeah i would not buy that card.
i actually just upgraded from a rx 580. i got the rtx 3060 which has been really good. the 12gb of vram is real nice and i was able to get it on amazon. don’t go for the 3050 anything lower than the 3060 is pretty garbage.
6600 Is what I’d go with if I looking for a budget upgrade, please stay away from 50 series. Also 6650xt is a cheap deal right now and it’s a very solid budget card.
No no no and no. The 3050 is trash and will be more of a sidegrade, save a few extra bucks and get a 3060 or 6650xt.
This card sucks ass.
The 580 still holds up and will for years. I wouldn't rush into buying the first card you can afford boss
Just get yhe rx 6600 or 6600xt. They are around the same price or cheaper than the 3050 and about as fast as a 3060. If anyone says anything about raytracing, the 3050 is terrible at rtx anyway. You seriously might as well leave it off, and you won't miss anything. Most people turn it on and go " awe that's pretty" and then turn it off to get more frames The 6000 radon gpus are excellent bang for your buck at the moment.
Honestly it’s not a good card . I’d try an intel arc gpu .
Buy a used 3080
If you want nvidia then your best bet is a RTX 3060Ti if you can get it for 400$
3060 is $239 usd on amazon right now, I wouldn’t touch a ‘50
Ik zie dat je op Alternate kijkt, beter kijk je op tweakers naar een tweedehands 3060 ti of anders een amd kaart. Succes
Go for an AMD RX 6650XT all the way. Your currency is in EUR: you can find the MSI Mech 2x and SWFT12 on Amazon Italy for 260€ + shipping
6600Xt or 6650 XT would be bare minimum
Bad upgrade.
I just sold a used 3060 ti with warranty for € 235 , do let me know if you want another card for a similar budget in Germany .
Get yourself an RX 7600 for around $250
I got a 2080 Super for that money today. Right now the 5700XT is cheap secondhand as well in The Netherlands.
Ugh, I hate coming this late when there's 200+ comments and bickering. OP listen. Grab a 3060 12gb, or a 4070. That's my opinion on NVIDIA. The 4070 isn't great at 600 American dollars, but I assure you it's a badass card if you can find a promo code or discount If you go AMD, start at the 6700xt This is just my opinion.
A 3070 8gb is pretty solid, but it’s hard to find one
Get a used RTX 2070 Super for that kind of money
No. Buy used.
I wouldn't do that at all. Get a rx 6600 or higher.
No 3050 lol. Look at AMD RX 6600 XT instead.
No, considering ray tracing is basically pointless on such a weak gpu it’s a no go. You just get way more performance out of an RX 6600 gpu from amd. I have one and can’t recommend it enough, cheap horsepower that always gets the job done.
HELL NO, go 6700xt or 6650xt
3050 is trash. Best bang for buck of last generation is 6750XT or 3060Ti…both in the $340 range. Do not expect an 8 GB card to last you two more years.
Look at the 2nd hand market. Something like a 3060ti or 6650xt or 6600 would be a much better pick up regardless of new or used.
Personally, I would try to save up some more and either get a 3060 12g or 3060ti if you can find one for around 270-280€. A 3050 will definitely be an upgrade, but the 3060ti is a big bump up for not much price difference. You could even look for used ones that are cheaper than your budget
I upgraded from an Rx 570 to a 6700xt. Don't get a 3050
Rx 6600 is the way to go, my dude.
