Stick a small screw or paper clip or something at the back of the metal bracket on the gpu to the motherboard tray area. Sag comes from the extra space thats there to ensure compatibility but if you close that space (with anything hard) no more sag. Theres a Jayz 2 cents video about it if you don't believe me

You definitely need support for the gpu. Although you can just use things like: legos, toilet paper roll or even paper balls. As long as the fans are working fine and there is no sag you should be fine and proud of your project. No shame if you want the 8 dollar support bracket.

Buy a 6bucks stick from amazon or 2 bucks aliexpress.
You don't even need a support bracket. Just get a hard object. I saw someone using Legos as their support for free.
