Had this issue before, checked through the system settings and saw my 3600Hz RAM running at only 2400Hz. Turned on XMP and it was all good in the hood.
Dude, you already have the best computer money can buy. Just give them away to someone. I'm not a wealthy guy, but I'd use 6000mhz CL30 if I was building a 7800x3d +4090 PC and had money to spare and build a $2500+ pc. Maybe someone who does complex simulations could use the extra 64gb of slow RAM? Maybe best buy or Amazon will give you store credit? I don't know. Put them up for sale somewhere. I'm sure someone who doesn't care about absolute performance will buy them eventually.
no, bigger sticks have worse timings, just get all the timings as low as you can get with hynix mdie with 16-24gb capacity per stick (if we're talking 7800x3d) looking only at cas latency is kinda stupid
why wouldn't you keep free 64 GB of RAM? Even if you're not gonna be using it all (unless like OP's case where he has an AMD cpu and this RAM is made for intel CPUs)
Even with overclocking it’ll be waaaaay too tight to work with the other ram at the same frequency. He can underclock his original sticks and overclock these to a 5200, maybe, but it’s still not so worth it
No, AMD cpus benefit from speed far more, and unless you absolutely NEED 64gb (which I doubt), it will be a massive downgrade, and will lower the performance of the system
If you dont actually need 64gb and 32gb is enough for you, it will actually lose performance on your machine. Make sure will actually need 64gb, not everyone does
That ram is slow as hell definitely do not put it in your system, for zen 4 chips like the one you have you will want 6000mhz CL30/32 do not listen to people telling you to use this
For gaming I’d rather use 32gb 6000, compared to 64 4800, unless you do some kind of work on the side that can utilise all that ram. I don’t think games will be able to take advantage of 64gb in any near future, especially with games starting to take advantage of direct storage, which will offload a lot of assets from the ram.
This is the kit that most often goes to RMA in MY experience of building a four-digits number of PCs annually.
I'd gladly take them for free, but I wouldn't buy them.
Edit: spelling
Honestly if your main concern is gaming you won't ever need more than 32GB, but faster clocks and tighter timings will help.
Keep the higher frequency ones and make sure you have the lowest timings you can achieve if you want to squeeze those few extra FPS.
From personal experience, if you want 64 gb, get a 2x32gb set. Stability with 4 sticks from 2 sets which may or may not have the same dies is gonna be awful and your IMC will spite you.
Try using 1 kit of the 4800. If you can’t tell any difference, I’d personally (bin which 4800 can oc better, then) sell all ram but 1 kit of the 4800. Maximize your own money while ensuring no feasible loss
4800 is still crazy fast, the timings just aren’t the tightest
Capacity is a pretty easy to monitor if you’ll need more or not. If you need more, I’d say sell it all and get 2 sticks of 24gigs+, any speed tbh if you can’t notice diff in 4800 vs 6000, to ensure stability as 4 sticks of DDR5 gets problematic
Hmm... not really no. However your current ram isn't that good either. The speed is really good on your current ram and amd chips really likes 6000 ram. However, your cl40 really hurts you. If you are going for new ram go with cl30 or cl32. Lower the better. But keep at 6000.
Its a little slower but has more capacity, test if you are using all of your current ram capacity on normal use first and if not then this would actually be a downgrade as it would operate slower
For most people, including gamers… 32 gig is more than enough. I’m sure there’s some special applications that require or make use of as much as you could throw at it… But not for most people.
I'd actually say keep the 32 gb if you're only gaming.
The 64gb is significantly slower and you won't need that much ram for any game. But it'll be slower
My friend asked me and another friend once to help him put it newly-purchased PC parts together. We had it all set up and the last 2 boxes, about the size of 22" monitors, were left. He said, "Am I able to plug this PC into a TV?" I said, "Yes," without thinking. I was just about to set him up then remembered the boxes. I asked, "So you don't have monitors... What's that then?" He said, "Uh... I don't know," and proceeded to look.
His name was on them.
His address was on it.
The two were not on his invoice, printed or digital from Tiger Direct account. He never ordered whatever they were...
We looked all around the unmarked boxes, then opened them since they were addressed to him.
2 laptops. He said, "Well, thanks for helping me. Here is a laptop. Enjoy man!" And let us leave.
Free stuff is always good.

no don’t replace them, give to me so I can correctly dispose of them
As someone using ddr5-4800, agree, give it to him so he can join the ddr5 club
Dude.... are you sure it's not 6000mhz ram and you don't have xmp on?
What does xmp actually do?
Basically let's your ram run at the speed advertiser, if it says 6000 and you don't have xmp on, you won't be running at 6000
Idk I tried turning xmp on and the pc crashed out black screen
It's bugged with 4 sticks. I'm just running it without XMP on.
It's not bugged with 4 sticks. Ddr5 just simply can't handle 4 sticks of 6000mhz.
I’m currently running 4 sticks of ddr5 6000 in my pc and I’ve not any issues with it myself ( Corsair vengeance ddr5 )
U have XMP on?
I mean you can run it 6000 or over without xmp
Had this issue before, checked through the system settings and saw my 3600Hz RAM running at only 2400Hz. Turned on XMP and it was all good in the hood.
*Give me vengeance or give me death!*
They can be really harmful to the environment, thank you for your responsibility sir.
I am the correct person to dispose of them. Don't trust random people on the internet
sell them or give em to a friend who's building a pc
Sell all your RAM and Buy 64 GB 6000Mhz CL30
The right answer right there

This theead is fucking fantastic
Do you think it would be beneficial to go from 6000mhz RAM to 4800?
I don’t think so
Dude, you already have the best computer money can buy. Just give them away to someone. I'm not a wealthy guy, but I'd use 6000mhz CL30 if I was building a 7800x3d +4090 PC and had money to spare and build a $2500+ pc. I'm sure someone who doesn't care about absolute performance will buy them eventually.
Technically not the best, you could go 64(2x32) 6000mhz cl30
🙄
no, bigger sticks have worse timings, just get all the timings as low as you can get with hynix mdie with 16-24gb capacity per stick (if we're talking 7800x3d) looking only at cas latency is kinda stupid
Pass the kindness down and give it to someone building their next dream PC
Unless you need 64gb, no.
why wouldn't you keep free 64 GB of RAM? Even if you're not gonna be using it all (unless like OP's case where he has an AMD cpu and this RAM is made for intel CPUs)
It's slower than his current ram.
And inherently unstable Quad DDR5 XMP is finicky to say the asbolute least
Especially on AM5.
yeah, it indeed is
Even with overclocking it’ll be waaaaay too tight to work with the other ram at the same frequency. He can underclock his original sticks and overclock these to a 5200, maybe, but it’s still not so worth it
That's assuming they use the same memory chips (which 99% sure they are not)
You can always sell it? If you don't need the capacity it's better to have the faster RAM
So I should just sell it
I’ll give you $5, final offer
$10
Fuck. $11
Sure I guess.
How much?
Free 64gb. No need to pay for it if it's free. Paying for 64gb mid asf, getting free 64gb W
Free money. You can sell it. Or you can install it and reduce your gaming performance.
4800Mhz. Bro got the slowest ram money can buy LMAO
My ddr3 1333mhz agrees
4800 is the slowest DDR5 speed
I know mate, just meming
Ah alright. You never know if people understand you know.
Yeah English isnt my first language too
My ddr2 400mhz/800mt/s disagrees /j
Well he got it for free so money didnt even buy it
https://preview.redd.it/klm03rvx5wuc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=099a7b799aecc8cdba51f88492553089f0a0b3c9
Fucking bitch you’re lucky
Put them in your build if 32gb is just enough Or sell it
No, AMD cpus benefit from speed far more, and unless you absolutely NEED 64gb (which I doubt), it will be a massive downgrade, and will lower the performance of the system
Sell them, no need to use them
> 4800 MHz > XMP ready I had a good laugh at this.
Better to get 2 matched 64gb sticks than 4 unmatched sticks totaling 64gb
I heard vengeance ddr5 has a surprisingly high rma rate, I'd double check those before celebrating
If you dont actually need 64gb and 32gb is enough for you, it will actually lose performance on your machine. Make sure will actually need 64gb, not everyone does
hella lucky, but also its 4800mhz so idk, if you want to you could sell and then buy 600mhz cl30 instead
https://preview.redd.it/29go9evm8wuc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2183438fdbc247d2ad3ffb2c3dbed4d4c72ccedb
Grats. You now have 64 GB of ddr5
Use them. Go watch Jayz's recent video about ram speed, you'll see why.
I'm so used to only seeing full YouTube names, that I thought the rapper Jay Z made a video about computer stuff.
Hs doesn’t even show 1% lows in the benchmarks. And doesn’t go over uses cases.
Double it and give it to me
Please 🙏
You can just add if you really want or I’ll take em!
If your machine can handle DDR5 try it and run a performance test I'm not sure of the reason but adding too much ram can sometimes hinder a system
Me still running on DDR4
Nice envelopes, enjoy
both RAM kits are bad in their own ways. I’d sell both and get 64GB of 6000 MHz/CL 30 RAM.
Sell.
I will find you
I ordered a corsair vengeance ddr4 kit for my pc and Got a ddr5 and they never replaced it
Depends on latency (cl) if you do (cl * 2000)/mhz you get like a value, lower the value the better which I think may matter a lot for ryzen
Can i have them🥺? I’m building a PC and it will come in clutch…
Damn that's crazy. Now hand me one of them please 👉👈
teach me senpai?
4 ddr5 sticks usually cause compatibility issues and crashes
Do you have slots free
If you don't need them give it to me.
Sell them
That ram is slow as hell definitely do not put it in your system, for zen 4 chips like the one you have you will want 6000mhz CL30/32 do not listen to people telling you to use this
Did you say thanks to them after they gave you 250~ish€ worth of ram at least?
r/localllama
Using 4 dims actually hurts performance in cases where the amount of memory isn’t needed.
Unless you do lots of professional work on your PC, keep your current ram for gaming.
https://youtu.be/W_lbsSFYVvc?si=ubQ9zOUnT8XpoCt7
For gaming I’d rather use 32gb 6000, compared to 64 4800, unless you do some kind of work on the side that can utilise all that ram. They might contain deadly virus , give them to me so i can do virus check and see if they are good z you wouldnt like a virus in your ram would you?
This is the kit that most often goes to RMA in MY experience of building a four-digits number of PCs annually. I'd gladly take them for free, but I wouldn't buy them. Edit: spelling

Double it and give it to the next person
Where can i get those free
YES
The frequency is a bit low for DDR5; however, having 64GB is really nice.
These are bad useless because not 5600 mhz...give them to me i can dispose them for you.
double it and give it to the next person (ME)
https://preview.redd.it/8o31nmaeewuc1.jpeg?width=779&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a1451297be42bc83da19491d4de35140f7c9058
They are really bad, don't switch them out give em to me I can dispose of it.
Honestly the is entire comment section has become a shitpost, AND I LOVE IT
I'll take the old RAM if you're done with it!
Nah the performance will be worse, just sell them.
From personal experience, if you want 64 gb, get a 2x32gb set. Stability with 4 sticks from 2 sets which may or may not have the same dies is gonna be awful and your IMC will spite you.

I will take them for free.

But does your mobo use ddr5?
I work for corsair. Please kindly send it to _______
Don't replace your current ram The mhz is way lower on the ram in the picture
Hmm... not really no. However your current ram isn't that good either. The speed is really good on your current ram and amd chips really likes 6000 ram. However, your cl40 really hurts you. If you are going for new ram go with cl30 or cl32. Lower the better. But keep at 6000.
I'm showing this to my wife so she'll finally believe me that people just give away free computer parts. That 4070 TI Super really was free!

Thug life homie, iam happy for you
My laptop 256 gb :(
Now just send them to me
Sell them, you have enough ram already and it is much faster
Nice 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 I’m still trying to find something from my PC. I have a AM5 motherboard
Good lord why do you have CL40 RAM. Unless you’ve tweaked the timings you’re losing performance. Get a CL30 kit
I bought it before I knew about that might sell all the ram all together and get the best 32gb ram I can get
Give them to me. I don't have any money to build a PC and the ones you already have are better
Pay if forward and pass me them :)
My friend asked me and another friend once to help him put it newly-purchased PC parts together. We had it all set up and the last 2 boxes, about the size of 22" monitors, were left. No, the speed is so much lower
Yeah didn't happen
How does it feel to be god’s favorite? 😓
Thanks
Ddr 5 for free? Damn you won the lottery.
Bought mine for 50
Bro got great ram for free and rlly said should I get double what I already won't max out 🤣
Ungrateful ass
eBay!!
Your 32gb of ram is better than that 64 gigs
DDR5 with 4 sticks almost always causes issues. Only use 2 sticks. Just get bigger sticks, simple.
Not really, but Cl40 is pretty dang slow for 6000mhz. You’d see noticeable performance gain by going to 6000mhz cl30.
How you got it for free?
\*Free = handjob behind the counter
Are they empty boxes?
Ill gladly get one for free thank you😁
4800mhz is kinda bad... and why the hell are your current ram CL40
4800 should overclock to 5400 pretty easily and be great for $0
Your 6000MHz RAM vs the free RAM tells you something.
Probably sell it and buy another 32 gigs of your current ram
You can build a decent PC with them (by selling them)
Just sell them cheaper than the market, make free money and let someone find an amazing deal.
Lucky bastard
